Libby walks in, swinging her backpack off her shoulder and looks around for Alex. She sees a few people wandering about and chatting in small groups. Jasper walks by her feet, keeping close like usual.
Alex waves to Libby from the other side of the room, signaling her to come closer. She then turns back to the man she was talking to.
"How much longer are we going to wait until we head out for Seattle?" She asks, rather irritated and impatient.
"Only another day or two, then we-"
"Another day or two!!" She yells, "Do you not see the dead people walking around out there!? In another day or two we could all be dead!"

Libby frowns and hurries towards Alex.
"Hey, what's going on? You don't need to be so loud." She eyes Alex, slightly annoyed. "We don't need to worry people more. One way or another we'll get to Seattle."
Jasper paces around Alex's legs and then sits, his tongue lolling out.

Alex kneels down and angrily pets Jasper then looks up to Libby.
"At this rate we'll never get out of here. The dumbass feels the need to wait for every single citizen that hasn't been accounted for. They're all either gone or dead and pretty soon if we aren't one of those things, we'll be the other."

"Alex!" Libby hisses, "this isn't the time nor the place for this. Can't we sort this out later when we aren't surrounded by people?"
"Fine!" She yelled over the man as he opened his mouth to continue the argument. She then stormed into the hallway, coming to a stop at a window that looked out over the town square. The zombies that had followed the latest group of survivors were still hanging around and didn't seem very willing to move any time soon.
She heard footsteps come up behind her.
"I know I shouldn't have yelled Lib. He just gets under my skin and all I can think about is punching his stupid fat face."

"You should be more careful you know...This life is not the same as it used to be. All anyone can think about are themselves and what they want. They may very well leave is behind if you build up a bad reputation." Libby sighs, "anyway, what have you accomplished today other then maybe pissing off some other people?" She chuckles as she glances out the window along with Alex.
"I went with some other people to go grab some more stuff from the grocery store. We go through food so quickly, I suppose it's just one of those things that we took for granted right?" Alex sighed and turned away from the window. "What about you? Did you contribute any thing to out little slice of heaven today?"
"Well...I spent the day talking to the guys about possibly going through the houses one more time, the abandoned ones, and seeing if there was anything left. Stray bullets, clothes, survival gear and what not. They all think it's a good idea since we'll be leaving soon." She stares out as the zombies start to amble into the trees. "Alex, we're gonna lose people out there. The group is just big enough to draw attention and not everyone is prepared and ready to fight for their lives. All we have done is run but we won't have anywhere to run too when we're out in the middle of no where."
"Yeah well that's what the weapons are for. Any one who knows how to use a gun will be armed and those who don't will get knifes, bats, anything we can find. Besides it isn't that far, we should get there in a day easily with the cars."
She sighs and changes the subject. "Whats for dinner tonight? I'm starved."

Alex chuckles to herself, "For the dog, gourmet puppy chow made with real meats and vegetables. For us, beans... and maybe some corn if we're lucky. All the people food is rationed like we're in the army but we've got enough dog food to keep Jasper fat and healthy until the end of time."
Libby smiles.
"Okay, maybe we should make our way back to the apartments before it gets too dark. We can pack the rest of our stuff. Sound good?"

"Yeah let's go." Alex said as she walked down the hall and over to the stairs. She quickly ascended the stairs to the roof, where she then waited for Libby. When she heard the echoing footsteps approaching, she went over towards the edge of the roof, where several planks made a walkway from one roof to the next. By the time the two girls reached the apartment complex, the sun was beginning to set, making shadows of the dead dance on the buildings.
The setting changes from Astor Town Hall to Apartment Buildings
They entered their apartment and closed the door behind them, locking it securely. Libby sat down on the couch and kicked off her shoes.
"how much do you have left to pack?" Jasper hopped up on the couch next to her.

"Not much." Alex stands in the center of the living room, looking at the filled bags that scatter the floor. "We each have a back pack with a couple changes of clothes a couple water bottles, some snack food, flashlights and batteries, maps, and some rope. In that duffle bag we've got canned food, dad's rifle, ammunition and rifle cleaning supplies, a first aid kit, some more water bottles, rain gear, and an extra pair of shoes for each of us. Can you think of anything else that we'll need?"
Alex hears footsteps outside, she opens the door and peers outside. She sees a teenager, Jacob she thinks his name is, walking casually.
"Hey." She waves as she says it. "You just come from the town hall?"

Jacob stops and nods, "Yeah, a group of soldiers showed up and agreed to help the group get to the Red Cross station in Seattle," he replies. "I'm Jacob, by the way," he says with a friendly smile. The woman's face looked familiar, but Jake couldn't quite remember her name, if he indeed ever knew it before.
"Hi Jacob, I'm Alex." She said as she stepped fully out of her apartment and closed the door behind her. "Good to hear about the soldiers but does anyone know when we'll actually be leaving?"
