Name:Michael Oberon Mendoza (Lladi)

Nickname: Jericho (Mendoza) – You call him Michael and you’ll be bound to regret it. Michael was the name that his parents gave him, back when everything was Idyllic and Perfect, of course, beneath the surface of their happy lives, there was something darker, something that was brooding and brewing. Michael, the innocent youngster that he was, had no idea that the golden age that his father helped to bring in was about to come crashing down on them all. He took the name Jericho after his parents were arrested and brought before the government, tried for war-crimes and within thirteen days, his father was executed and his mother was exiled, forced to take her children with her.

Because his parents were known to be traitors against the state, and the state were perceived to be in the “right”, Jericho decided to embrace the fact that he would never been on the accepted side of the law and took the name Jericho. He’d rather be the enemy to the established “right” even if he eventually is “destined” to lose, than he will ever be something that fits into the mainstream government. His father became the symbol of the end of an era and he is determined to bring about a new era, free of the ravages of war. Just like his father. Of course, when this is all over, he’ll go right back into the family business of underground dealings and conniving deals, of which he has taken from the underground dealings that he was brought up in and applied it to The Founders.

Age: Unknown – He has one of those faces that he could be very young, but his eyes clearly mark him as far older than he appears at first glance. Most of his expressions are kept from his face, but to understand how he is feeling, all one needs to do is look into his eyes.

Hair: Brown, kept pushed back and off of his forehead, always very formal looking. He hates it when people try to mess up his hair or when people bother him when he is at home and he’s not presented as his normal kept together self.

Dress: Suits, always. White or black. No other colors. When he's wearing a black suit, he wears a white tie and vice versa. He's also a heavy smoker/drinker. What doesn't kill you...

Eyes: honey brown, flecks of gold.

Family:

Pantheras Lladi: (Deceased) a man that had started, and ran, the underground dealings of his syndicate. A veteran in Delunrick’s military and was quite high-ranking. When things started to turn south, Pantheras (and those of equal or higher rank) were put together, tried and executed for treason. His name is forbidden to be mentioned anywhere in Delunrick. Even his surname is banned from use.

Arina: (Alive) a woman that worked closely with Pantheras, as his assistant, and often helped him with his dealings. She is the mother of ten children, three have survived. She is fragile in terms of mental ability from the death of her children and the murder of her husband. She stays with her children and is protected by all three. She had been tortured by the government, seen some of her children die when she got them back from foster-care, saw another die from drugs and saw her older sons killed by the government as they rebelled openly against them. She has no love for the government, nor for many people that are around her.

Marquis: (Alive) the fourth born of the children and one of the few survivors. He is his mother’s caretaker and is dedicated to her. He and his brother often disagree with one another, but one thing remains true, they will do anything for one another, and anything for their family. Marquis does not take NRT-54 and does not tolerate any such things around their mother.

Macyn: (Alive): The last born of the children and has no recollection of Pantheras. She is Jericho’s right-hand (wo)man and looks very close to her mother in terms of appearance, though younger. Macyn is often found pouring over maps of the city and helping her brother through his strategic plans. Macyn is a strong scholar and she is the favorite of her brother. In order to protect her, Macyn has a guard with her at all times, a being that was created and given full sentience.

Modifications: He is considered to be the “Modern Rasputin”. He’s been shot, stabbed, tortured…and to no avail. Nothing seems to get through this man. Jericho doesn’t take any NRT-54s, but he has found (through the use of his contacts) a way to accelerate healing without the pills. His body has artificial organs (including skin) and within the cells, the cells heal themselves at an incredibly fast rate. Some people think it’s a sort of nano-technology, others think that such rumors are just superstitious nonsense. In truth, Jericho is a different sort of addict. He is the sort of man that enjoys the thrill of danger and constantly going toe to toe with the government. He has a working computer implanted within his mind, and the camera lenses become his eyes. He has gone under constant work. Yet, he’s not any stronger. He’s not faster. He’s a piss-poor hand to hand fighter. He is the think-tank, the chess-master. He is the one that sends others to die while he protects his own.

Personality: A leader, he has grown up with stories of his father, his father’s exploits and things that were and will never be again. Jericho tries to imbue the air of a leader. He walks, talks and commands with a level of flexibility that allows him to change his plans on a dime. While some people look three moves ahead, he looks straight to the end game. Everything that he does is calculated, manipulated, conniving and willing to put himself out there in order to get attention and be the distraction for others. While he used to be an amazing assassin, he has tempered that down in order to be a leader. He kills when he has to (though it’s rare that he has to) and he keeps himself up to date on any new technological advances and will bribe whomever he can to make sure that he gets what he wants. He’s been known to change how he appears. He changes how he walks, talks and his facial expressions. He will make himself appear to be haggard and tired, spreading the rumors of his death before he makes a triumphant return. He’s been known to get himself into trouble with his inability to fight against those that use the NRT-54s, but he has a solid guard that is perfect when it comes to defending him. Jericho, though he is very enigimatic, does not allow many into his social of acquaintances and even his acquaintances are disposable. He’s willing to sacrifice a pawn in order to advance the queen and heaven forbid if someone says that he’s cold, for he remembers every name of the people that he’s killed or died under his charge. He’s always in control, as a leader, he has to be…but like his family motto says, everything for family… and he reserves nothing for himself.

History: His family, though large, were close. There was always laughter, always love. The patriarch, Pantheras, never showed his family the underground dealings that he was part of. Those underground dealings allowed them to live in some measure of comfort. Pantheras, due to his disability (his inability to walk), was not able to get a good job that would provide for his family. Instead, the patriarch got medication and brought it to those that could pay for them at higher rates. Later, he started to deal with technology. When Michael was born, he was a frail, sickly baby that was not given long to live. Pantheras refused to listen to that and he brought Michael to one doctor after another and the boy was put through surgery after surgery. Gradually, his organs were replaced, every cell replaced and the organs grew with the boy.

Michael was nine when his parents were taken away from him. His mother was returned to him when he was twelve. His mother was a shell of her former person and as her children died, she became more and more withdrawn. He refused to allow her to withdraw completely and fought to keep her around with him and his brothers. He took odd jobs, took care of his family, did all that he could but as he got older, he started to hate the government. He heard of fractions that were building. People against Technology, People for it… and Michael started to build his persona. He started to go into government documents and erase all record of Michael Mendoza. He made up stories about himself. Grand stories about this Jericho, a mysterious shadow that no one knew where he came from. He took up his father's "business", twisted it, called in new favors and renamed it. He's now the leader of riff-raffs and he finds it quite amusing to watch them. Of course, his true circle of acquaintances are the only ones that "think" that they know what he's planning.

He made it so he walked among people, gave them stories, speeches, pulled them to him. He held people to him with charm and his strong belief in what he was doing and what he wanted to do. He drew on people’s strengths, made sure that they were paired with someone who could balance their weaknesses. Jericho is strongly against the government and he’s not afraid to make that known. He is willing to take in those that need a place to stay, as long as they are useful to him. Just remember. He’s all for his family and he doesn’t take people into his family easily. The people that are with him are not his family. Currently, his family is his mother and brothers. We shall see what happens.
