"While I thought it was a simple twist of fate, it proved to be a deceit of the devil that left us open and vulnerable. I might not directly be responsible for my actions yet I am their representative, their pawn they can get rid of anytime. So before anyone else is forced to suffer like I do, I will persist smiling as told. My opportunity will come soon or later, I am sure."

It is complicated: He won't fall in love in this kind of situation where he deceive everyone around him. It feels just wrong.

S K I L L S
Dancing || A way he gets his money with. He'll just stop in a crowded place and starts to dance, sometimes also going through the crowd to gather more attention, letting them take part within his show that seem to please whole mass of people. With his pretty face to boot, it is quite the money source.
Empathy || He has always beeen someone who can tell others feeling by just looking at their faces, their behaviours or merely by judging situations. It is noted that he is quite the headshrinker, with ease he is able to cheer up people even if his methods are peculiar.
Bargain || Basically, Aeeron is a merchant therefore his skill to bargain is required. Though he wasn't as the most, cunning and likes to fool his customers instead approaches them like a friend, makes them comfortable in his presence and recommend them things according to their wishes and not otherwise. It is noted that he also has a keen eye if it's about rarities, so that his business goes (went) smoothly.
Medical massage || Perhaps it's his ability as a half elven? Howsoever, he has the technique and talent to do massages that send people to heaven, which is also something useful he make use of to gain money for survival.

S T R E N G T H S
Charisma || He attracts people because he approaches them, and he has always been a excellent conversationalist.
Dodging || While he is not strong in direct attacts, he uses his sharp enchanted sight to his advantages and dodges any attack coming to his way. That while doing a sneek attack at once. With this, for a surprise attack to succeed is quite difficult.
Smiling || He smiles, even though his mood wants otherwise. He smiles, when someone is being a bastard or a bitch to him. He smiles, even when a customer wrongly accuses him for something and he only means good! He knows that getting angry won't solve anything so keeping a cool hand and smile is his ultimate solution for every conflict.
Herbal knowledge || It is hereditary, it seems.

W E A K N E S S E S
Ψ Family || His family is probably his greatest weakness, the present is the proof: His sister "is held captive" and he was forced to be the King of Alfheim in name only.
Ψ Elves || He can't handle them, they care too much about status and nobility and blood.
Ψ Children || He is a children lover.
Ψ At times impractical || Sometimes he is too spontaneous while the other time he just can't figure a good strategy and ends up doing something silly.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

|| quite spontanouspatientstubborn purposefulkind-heartedstrictly independent ||

Don't even attempt to understand him. You would never be able to; he doesn't even understand himself sometimes! He is but a steady person, can almost be called neurotic, shifts his personality traits from one to another everyday. Sometimes to adjust, sometimes because of a hidden motive. Even though he might appear easy going and without a single worry, like a happy-go-lucky person, he does have thoughts no one would've guessed when seeing him. You can't say he's cunning; he's just too understanding and kind. His empathy is strong, yet he doesn't show it much. He is rather distant to strangers, and if possible doesn't hang out much with people he isn't sure of their characters. Therefore he also never depends on others, is strictly independent and if possible, never calls for help, fearing betrayal.

He is an extremely patient person nonetheless, stays calm in every situation and smiles despite everything. Aeeron is not seen to be angry - never actually. He bottles it away, every single feeling that can cause him to turn aggressive and keeps them in as best as possible. He is aware that violence never solves a problem and lives with that thought, refusing to use violence and always tries to settle problems with words, that may or may not hit quite some nerve.

Moving on, he is a very optimistic character actually. He won't ever think he can't do it before trying to do so. And that, with a bravery of hundred men. Even though he won't ever rush things and recklessly goes there only to end up in a hospital, but if he sees a possibility, he'll go for it hundred percent. Adding to it, Aeeron is someone who keeps loyal to his words. He won't ever throw random words into the room, only when necessary. In fact you can say, every single word of his has a meaning to it, whether it's a less or a very important one. He takes pride in what he's doing, and will hold every responsibility of his actions. Although not quite emotionless, still that stubborn spirit living inside him makes it possible and keeps him strong for any hindrance that may cross his path.

He is confident and never gives up, stubbornly faces forward like no other. A quality which surely let him appear as one charismatic guy who knows well how to catch people's interest, gather them and grabs their attention. A very important trait for a merchant like himself. Did I mention how extremely over-protective he is over his only family, his little sister? She was always sickly and weak, but beamed such a lovely vitality and joy that no one really can't hate her. His little sister meant the world for him. Without her, he can't live. That's why he definitely won't do anything too rashly and incautious, patiently waiting for his opportunity to strike.

H I S T O R Y

Within civil war he was born in a shelter for all refugees, gathered and attempted to stay alive with the limited ressources they had. The reason for the civil war back then was long forgotten - it became trivial for races to fight each other and grief mundane. The woman, an elven of noble blood helped the deserted in their need, helped them with medical treatments but also mental treatments, were the strength of many even while she did not share those people's race. A rebel that stood proudly against war, and fought stubbornly for peace.

That same brave woman was the one who gave birth to Aeeron within the time. They believed it was love back then that bonded the elven woman and the fairy man, met in the war field as though it is a call of destiny. The woman was pregnant fairly quickly, but decided not to rest despite her condition, did everything in her power to still be as of help. Then Aeeron was born, a strong child which strength is proven as he grew up. It was however, a short-lived happiness. His father died within combat, an honourful death which not only his family grieved.

His mother was a strong woman, but the loss of her beloved had more impact than anyone had thought. She neglected her son. Neglected those in need. Only to mourn over the death of her lover, day and night, crying all over without end and became frail through the days, the weeks, the months - the years. In the meantime Aeeron grew to be a cheerful child that conjures smiles on everybody's faces almost daily. The civil war had ended finally, and time had come to begin the reconstruction.

Aeeron learned many things within the shelter, helped here and there and grew up having to bear the burden of many sorrow, including her mothers. He attempted so many times to get her back up to her feet, but he never succeeded. It was at the age of ten years old where he found her dead on her bed, clearly did suicide. And that little boy with innocent eyes was calm, too calm as he found her as though he had predicted this to happen. Not only once he wondered why she even waited so long to do this; regretted to have stopped her in her countless attempt for suicide before.

After all, it was not only her mother that was suffering. Aeeron knew well of her pain as well - treasured the few memories he still remembers of his father like no other.

He was taken by a family with fairy only, who told him that they stood in his mother's favor, her being their lifesaver back in the civil war. He was grateful always and never showed any sorrow, tried to bottle up everything within his heart and unconsciously made his foster family to worry. It was their little daughter who broke the ice and helped him to go through many difficulties and grief that will never be forgotten. She was like a little angel, giving him the support he needs to feel better. Through her, he became more open but still was afriad of betrayal, and thus was never really someone who put much trust into anybody aside his foster family.

His distrust doubled as the so-called-friend betrayed them, took their belongings with force and even murdered to get what their want. The peace in the little village that just for several years had been restored was completely shattered once again; something that never can be put together again. Thus they decided to move away and find work in the city - however, even that attempt for a new beginning ought to fall through. A group of bandits attacked them and once again Aeeron had to bear the sight of his family to die right in front of him. A sigh unbearable that everything went black... and as he awakened, the bandits were dead. Aeeron was in the border to go mad completely, feeling that their retribution wasn't enough, wanted to strike the predetors once again dead - he even didn't care how they found their death. He simply didn't care - as then the little girl crawled out their carriage, her eyes sleepy and tired, asking for her mother.

Quickly, Aeeron took her away, wanted to protect her from what had happened as it was nothing for the little girl to see; nothing she would ever recover from of its sight. And as she slept, he prepared his foster parents respective burial, prayed for them to find peace and sworn that he will never let their daughter to face any sadness in life. A duty, that he placed heavy on his shoulders and caused him to be quite over-protective.

It was obviously nothing easy for Aeeron to avoid her questions about her parents whereabouts. However he managed, began a new life with her in the city where he learned various of things, that includes massaging and dancing especially. He always tought her that he was his big brother and thus the little girl knew nothing else. By the time she was sixteen Aeeron told her about how 'their parents' died in a bandits ambush. It was nothing that she could swallow that easily but she proves to be a strong woman and Aeeron was grateful for that.

One day, there was a peculiar hooded man watching Aeeron perform, gather people around him to sell goods and also was there as he offer his service to massage someone. Like a creepy stalker, he had followed Aeeron and the little girl anywhere until one day, the little girl was missing; only a note left behind for him to go somewhere. Of course Aeeron knew immediately that it was not the little girl's notice, and quickly concluded she was taken away by strangers who actually had him as target. Without much strategy he went to the place in the note as he met again his creepy stalker, who threatened him. He was to be the fake King for them in name only. A king that was only a facade; and if he refused, they'd kill his 'sister' immediately. Thus he obeyed - without knowing that his sister had struggled and found death within it, just two days before his coronation.

After all, he had no other choice but to obey in his unknowingness.

So begins...

Heron went rather mad ordering clothing from virtual catalogues. Cress watched, rather in awe, that Heron could merely press a button and it was ordered. There was no finnicking with credit cards or calling numbers either. "Wow," Cress breathed quietly, watching from over Heron's shoulder. "There, that should do it. Now you've got some stuff you can wear." Cress nodded, following Heron into the bedroom. "I-I can sleep on the floor!" Cress suggested, fidgeting. She was not comfortable with the idea of sharing the bed with a stranger, especially one that had tried to kill her. "Don't be shy, there's plenty of room for both of us." Heron pat the space beside her, it was true, there was plenty of room. Cress crawled under the covers hesitantly, her bunny ears flopping over her face as she lay down on what was probably the softest bed her body had ever graced.

It was as though she were laying on a cloud, the sheets whisper light and cool to the touch. "Night," Heron flicked off the lights. For a while, Cress simply lay in bed, listening to the sound of Heron breathing. Eventually, she managed to drift off, waking up to the sound of an alarm. "I'm late, I'm late. Crap, the Captain is gonna kill me!" Heron danced around the room, pulling on her pants and buttoning her shirt. "I left a list of stuff that has to be done on the table, okay Kairi? I'll be back around lunch to check on you!" Cress watched her leave and yawned, closing her eyes to catch a few more minutes of sleep. "Bye, have a good day." She whispered, but found herself unable to drift back under. With a sigh, Cress kicked back the covers and rose, finding box upon box stacked in the hallway with Heron's name on it. Could this be the stuff she had ordered last night? Grabbing a knife from the kitchen, Cress tore the first one open.

A maid uniform. Yup, that's exactly the perverted outfit Cress had expected Heron to order. She dragged the boxes in one by one, changing into the uniform to make sure it fit. She hung the rest up in the spare room and glanced at the list Heron had left her. Grocery shopping, okay, Cress could do that. Except, she had no idea where or how those were bought. She swallowed hard, it seemed she would have to venture out, alone, for the first time. "I should take stock first and see what Heron has." She had to earn Heron's trust before she could really begin to ask questions and pry, but for now, Cress would merely dig around the house to see what Heron had.

As it turned out, not much. There was no secret cabinet full of important papers, or a locked briefcase, or anything the spy movies on earth had prepared her for. In fact, Heron's apartment barely seemed stocked with much of anything. "Tchh, that womanizer is more man than woman." She put on a pair of shoes and took her list with her, it seemed it would be up to Cress to figure out how the groceries worked. She took the elevator down to the first floor and left through the back, recalling that she could not read this strange language. Great, it seemed this really would be an adventure.

Groceries, groceries, Cress tried to find something that would remotely fit the description. She was walking around blindly, attempting to discern what the strange letters meant. As far as being a maid went, Cress thought she did a decent job. Before leaving the house she had unpacked the boxes, made the bed, swept, and mopped. She had looked in the cupboards and saw that Heron did not keep much, so it seemed she would have to buy everything Heron was missing. A bachlor pad, Cress realized, was the equivalent of what Heron was staying in. "Excuse me," Cress stoped a woman pushing a floating baby carriage. "Yes?" The woman glowered at her and Cress stiffened, hoping that she seemed unassuming. "D-do you know which way the groceries are?"

"That large building with the sign that says "Superstore," Cress nodded, thankful and bustled away. She felt as though she had been scrutinized and was glad that she was disguised. She sighed with relief once she entered, it wasn't a trick that sent her right to the authorities, she was really there. An hour later, she had returned with a floating car that held all of the bags. This place was some sort of strange future of what earth might look like. She needn't scan anything, as soon as she walked out, she simply touched her ID chip against the reader and it simultaneously scanned everything in her cart. Heron would be charged for all of it, of course, since Cress or Kairi was now registered there. Heron was waiting for her when she got back. "Oh, look at all that stuff." Her eyes widened, but she didn't seem worried or surprised.

"Your house was pretty bare, so I thought you could use some things." Cress said, attempting to appear meek. "Including plants?" Cress blanched, she had hardly noticed the flowers she had put into the basket. "I-I thought they were pretty," she looked down, fidgeting. "Well, they are nice, not as nice as you, but they'll do I guess." Heron helped her unpack everything. "You did a good job today, I got out of work early so I figured I would come back, but it turns out I've got a meeting soon." Cress nodded, "I-I can cook something really quick!" She suggested, wondering if Heron had noticed that Cress had gone through all of the drawers. "No, you've done enough today." Heron grinned, "I'd treat you, but I'd say you bought yourself enough treats with those plants." Cress turned bright red again.

She turned towards the plants, already clipping off anything that looked wilted. "So... do you work with the Princess and Queen a lot?" Cress asked, figuring it was an innocent enough question. "Yeah, the Princess and I are good friends. Want me to introduce you?" Heron joked, she was drinking something in a large mug, Cress suspected it must have been the equivalent of this world's coffee. "Really?" She whirled back around, figuring this might be her chance. "You really know the Princess?" Heron didn't seem surprised, as though everyone questioned her legitamecy. "Yeah, I'll prove it to you! Tonight, you and I'll go meet her!"

Heron had left again, giving Cress time to herself. She arranged the flowers around the windows, hoping that they would get enough light despite the angle. She showered next, figuring she had enough time. Cress felt anxious, but she didn't know what to do with herself. She couldn't exactly explore much considering she couldn't read their langauge and was still curious as to how she understood it. Could she really be Ellie's sister? Was it possible that she had been ejected from this world at birth? Was her Mother really her Mother? Was that horrible woman from the ball her birth Mom? Cress had so many questions and next to no answers. Would she be able to ask them all to Ellie? No, it wasn't likely, not with Heron in the room.

Cress shuffled around for pencil and paper, she needed to write, she had to get a letter in to tell Ellie her discovery. Hopefully she would be able to slyly slip it into her pocket. Hopefully Ellie would recognize her and wouldn't feel odd that some stranger wanted to meet her. With a sigh of relief she sat down, clicking the pen and hoping it wasn't some new fangled tech they used up here. She touched it against the paper briefly to test it, but it wrote normally. Dear Ellie, Cress started, thinking to herself.

I tried to talk to you at the party, but you didn't seem very receptive, so I'm gonna try this instead, which you can read in the privacy of your own castle. Today is Tuesday, I think, it was a Sunday when I left earth and I don't know if they even have the same name for days here, but anyway, I've come across a very important discovery. When I was with the rebellion, which is a story for later, they tested my blood. They found a genetic match with a certain strain of DNA, your strain. Ellie, we're not cousins, we're sisters. I don't know how this is possible or if this is even right, but I need you to know. I don't know what to do. I feel lost, this place is so strange. I want to go home Ellie, with you. Our real home, not this strange place.

-Cress

She sealed the letter carefully and placed it in her pocket, Heron would be back soon. She erased any signs of her writing and replaced the pencil and paper. She may as well make dinner while she waited and so Cress set the table and went about making one of the meals her Mother had taught her to make, fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Comfort food, for when you felt down. The door opened and shut, "Kairi, I'm back!" Heron bound inside, seeming excited. "I've got good news, the Princess is gonna come here. We won't even have to go to the castle to see her." Cress turned, holding the wooden spoon with mashed potatoes on the end. "Really!" Her excitement was not feigned, she couldn't wait to see her cousin again.

"Hey, wake up." Heron was shaking her, Cress pried one eye open, then the other. She felt woozy, her stomach sick. Why was her head throbbing so much? Wait, where were her pajamas? Why was she in Heron's bed when she had her own room now? Cress bolted upright, awareness but no memories of how she ended up here. "I guess you were a light weight after all, it's almost noon." Noon? Cress glanced at the clock on the mantle, it was 11:50. "Lightweight?" Cress winced, the light too harsh for her eyes. Heron held up an empty bottle, was that... liquor? Cress blanched, she was underage. How did she get a hold of that? It all came rushing back to her. Dinner, she had made Heron dinner and Heron had opened the bottle, offered her a glass. Cress had taken a sip to be polite and then another and then-oh gosh-the whole bottle was empty.

"Anyway Cress I think we have a lot to talk about."

"So you're really a Princess?" Heron asked ten minutes later. Cress was sitting on the counter while Heron fried eggs in a pen, her hair in a messy bun and wearing one of Heron's shirts. "Yeah, at least, I think so. That's what the blood test said." Heron flipped the egg, the butter sizzling in the pan. "I mean, it almost makes sense if you think about it. Narina is the kind of Queen that doesn't see a need for extras, so she... sent you off. Probably didn't expect you to survive." She slid the eggs onto two plates, handing one to Cress, who picked up a fork. Heron leaned against the opposite counter, the two eating in silence for a few minutes. "So why a bunny?" She asked eventually, breaking the silence.

"I didn't get to pick, I just woke up like this." Cress was careful not to mention any names, Heron was a knight after all. "So why didn't you tell Princess Narisia? Or Queen Narina?" After all, Cress had seen her only last week. Today was a day off, since it was the weekend. "I couldn't, not with... you know." Cress groaned, "This is all just a big mistake. I shouldn't have sought you out." She placed her egg to the side, barely touched. "You should eat, you're gonna get hungry later." Heron nudged the plate back towards her and Cress picked it up again. "Does the Princess know?" Cress nodded. "I told her, well, I wrote a letter to her and hopefully she got it and didn't just throw it out." She swung her legs, feeling anxious.

"I'm sure she read it, Nee isn't that kind of person. I'm not on speaking terms with my brother, but he's closer to her than I am." Cress thought she was close to Ellie, turns out, she barely knew her. "Well, today is a day off. So we have time to figure it out and oh gosh, this makes me the asshole knight that slept with the Princess." Cress's cheeks turned vibrant red. "Pass me that bottle-" Heron laughed. "No, getting drunk isn't the answer. Come on, let's get dressed. I've got the day off so we can at least go get some shopping done." Cress nodded, sliding off the counter. "Hey, how old are you, really?" Heron suddenly asked, as though the thought just occured to her.

"Sixteen."

"So I'm an asshole and a pedo!?"

"I don't think the ice cream is gonna solve this." They were at a cafe now, sharing an ice cream sundae despite Cress insisting that she wasn't all that hungry. "Wait a second... is this a date?" She asked, rising to her feet. "Did you just notice?" Heron asked, seeming surprised. Cress's cheeks turned bright red for the fifth time that day and it wasn't even four. "We, you know, it's only proper so your Mom doesn't think I'm a complete skirt chaser." Cress didn't know what to think, her bunny ears were twitching with mild annoyance. "Eat some, or I'm gonna take all the whipped cream." Cress sighed and picked up her spoon, her thoughts drifting to Aya. Was she safe? Had Xion extracted her like she promised? Cress hoped so. "What are you thinking about?" Heron asked, curious. "My Rubble friend, but I don't know what happened to her."

"What's her name?" Cress shook her head, if she said that much, it would be obvious who she was. "I don't know, she helped me when I came to earth, but I never learned her name." An easy enough lie, although she felt guilty about it. She ate the whipped cream off of her side of the ice cream so Heron couldn't have any. "What are we doing next?" Cress inquired, since apparently she was now on a date. "I was thinking we could go to Lake Asphodel and then we'll grab some dinner somewhere." Heron rose, holding out a hand. Cress ignored the hand and followed her, the two of them taking the train again. "You remind me of someone." Heron drummed a finger against her chin as they stood on the platform. "But I don't know who," she looked past her, her eyes widening.

"Shit, not here. This is the last place I expected them to be." Who? Cress tried to look, but Heron blocked her path. "Come on, we're going this way." She grabbed Cress's wrist, dragging her through the crowd. "Heron, what are you doing? Who's following us?" Cress asked, wondering if she should be worried. "Rebels, they're tailing us. The Cherubims are known for their red hair," Cress didn't have the heart to tell Heron that they were probably assigned to keep an eye on Cress and not after them, but she also had the sense to keep her mouth shut. "What are we gonna do??" Cress asked instead. "Take a different train," one stopped on the platform, it was near silent, if not for the ding that meant it had arrived.

They stepped inside, Heron tugging on Cress, her hand on Cress's waist. Almost immediately, they were surrounded, the rebels holding them at gun point. "Heron Cherubim, don't make a fuss. You're coming with us," Heron's free hand flit to her side, but someone had already grabbed her rapier. Cress's hands balled into fists, it seemed that the jig was up. "Cress, they took Aya." Farren said, pushing his way to the front. "What do you mean? Who took Aya?" Cress asked quietly as Heron was pat down, her weapons confiscated. "Itward Cherubim, Heron's brother."

"Here's the plan," Xion began. Heron and Cress were both tied to chairs in the rebel base. They had to keep up the charade, of course, that Cress was not part of the rebellion and simply a girl working for Heron. They didn't know, of course, that Cress had told Heron in a drunken stupor what her true identity was. "Why should I do anything for you?" Heron growled, clearly unhappy about being taken. Cress acted meek and scared the way she was supposed to, Farren having tied her bunny ears together with a scrunchy. "Because this is an innocent girl that was taken by your brother," Xion slammed her fist against the wall, making Cress jump. She straightened, fixing her eye patch and clearing her throat. "As I was saying, here's the plan. Heron, you're going to distract your brother. You'll take your servant- what's her name?"

"Kairi," Cress supplied in a meek tone. "You'll take your servant Kairi and Farren, who will act as your other servant. You and Kairi will serve as a distraction while Farren extracts Aya. Once Aya is secure, Farren will give you the signal and you can leave as though nothing happened." Heron grit her jaw, struggling against the zip ties that bound her to the chair. Cress didn't struggle, Farren had barely even tied her down. "And why should I help you? What's in it for me?" Heron asked, her leg bouncing. "You get to join the rebellion and go against your brother and we'll let you keep your little bunny slave instead of freeing her." Xion grabbed Cress by the rabbit-ears, the pain in Cress's expression very real. "Too hard," Farren whispered in Xion's ear, but she didn't let up. They had an act to keep up, of course.

Heron's mouth drew into a tight line. Her eyes met Cress's, a supposed innocent bystander to all of this. "Fine," Heron sighed, it seemed she had no other choice. "We'll do it, but after that, you'll leave my servant and I alone. If you try something again, I'll be delivering your heads to the Queen myself." Xion released Cress's ears, which flopped over almost immediately. The tears of relief in the corners of Cress's eyes were very real. "We leave in an hour," Xion made her exit. Farren was nice enough to release them from the chairs, locking the doors behind him. It seemed until it was time, they would be stuck in this room. "Heron, we can... escape through the window? You don't have to do this." Cress made a lame attempt to open the window, which was, predictably, locked. "No, I do have to. My brother's kidnapped an innocent girl who was forced to play Untouchable by these rebels. I've gotta go set him straight." Heron grabbed Cress's hand, drawing Cress into her arms. "I'm not gonna let them hurt you."

The guilt Cress felt was real. She was using Heron just as much as everyone else here. She shouldn't feel like this, Heron nearly killed her, so why did Cress feel a pang in her chest? The hour seemed to pass far too quickly. Farren opened the doors when it was time to go and led them to an unmarked van. "Ready?" He asked and before they could answer, it shot off down the road. "Itward and I aren't technically on speaking terms," Heron muttered, clearly frustrated by all of this. "Maybe Nio'll open the door so I don't have to talk to him." Cress touched Heron's shoulder. "We can do this," she tried to smile reassuringly, but the risk of being caught was great.

They stopped a block away from Itward's home. The three of them exited the vehicle, Farrel fixing his ears in the reflection of a window before Heron ushered them along towards a large house with an even larger gate. "Welcome to the Cherubim estate," she grumbled. It was nearly midnight now, the perfect time for a home visit, apparently. Heron had work tomorrow and Cress, well, she would just be waiting in Heron's apartment, so it wasn't like it mattered. Heron pushed a button on the gate, crossing her arms. "Itward? It's me! It's Heron, let me in!" She spoke into an invisible camera. "Can't believe I'm doing this." She muttered, grasping Cress by the hip, almost as though it were a reflex. Farrel didn't seem nervous in the least, unlike Cress and Heron, especially Heron.

The gate opened, the three of them walking inside. The door opened as though someone were waiting for them, but there was no one there. It was creepy, almost. "This way," Heron led the way. Itward was waiting for them in in what Cress assumed was a parlor or drawing room. Before he could catch sight of him, Farrel slunk away, going to find out where Aya was being hidden and hopefully rescue her. "I thought you weren't speaking to me?" Itward asked casually, inspecting his nails. Heron crossed through the threshold, Itward's eyes flickering upwards. They went immediately to Cress, whom Heron was attempting to obscure behind her. "What's that? A new girl toy for you to play with?" Cress's cheeks heated up immediately, her rabbit ears twitching.

"That's why I'm here." Heron said softly, taking a seat on the opposite end of the room. She grabbed Cress's wrist, pulling her onto her lap. "Itward, there are rebels listening." Heron of course, worked for the Queen. To betray the rebels meant ensuring her future and good standing as a knight, but she wasn't going to let an innocent girl continue to be tortured. "Heron, what are you doing?" Cress whispered, Heron's grip tightening around her. "This girl is related to the Princess, I rescued her from the rebels. They followed us here, I'm sure they're listening right now." She was going off script, she was going rogue. What was Heron thinking? Itward leaned forward. "Ridiculous, the Princess does-"

"It's true," Cress cut him off. "E-Princess Narisia and I are sisters." Itward was silent for a moment. "How can this be? The Queen nor Princess ever made mention of another heir." They needed to abort the mission, Heron had spilled too much and yet-this was Cress's best chance of getting close to Ellie. "You can test my blood," Cress held out her arm. "If you truly are related to the Princess, you can't stay with my womanizer of a sister. You'll stay here, I'll appoint a room for you and-"

"No, I'd rather stay with Heron." Cress... trusted Heron more than she did Itward. She knew that Heron wouldn't purposely hurt her, she wasn't so sure about this redhead. "Nio!" Itward called outside the room, "grab me the blood kit!" He closed the door behind him. "How is Nio?" Heron asked softly, Itward sat back down. "She doesn't want to see you," he replied stiffly. Heron grit her jaw, her teeth grinding together. "I understand," Heron replied reluctantly. Itward rose when someone knocked, obscuring Cress and Heron's view. "Hold out your arm," Cress did as told, the cold wipe against her forearm making her slightly nauseous. The needle was different, it was more of a suction cup than anything. She watched as he tapped it against the vein, the suction pulling blood up almost immediately. There was no pain, none of the inconviences of earth.

"How are you gonna test it?" Heron asked, wondering if Itward had the Princess's DNA stored somewhere, which wouldn't surprise her. "Computers Heron, they do all of the leg work these days. Honestly," he shook his head, turning to the large computer that Cress had just noticed. He placed the vial into a slot, the computer reading her DNA. Cress watched, slightly entranced.

Only one match came up, Princess Narisia.

"Impossible, the DNA is near identical."

"I've located Aya, I'm moving to extract her now." Farrel's voice crackled in Cress's ear. It was a relief to hear that they had found her and were taking her to somewhere safe. "Heron, she should stay here. I know you, you're going to prey on her." Itward and Heron were arguing while Cress sat on the couch, the two siblings standing across from one another, in the middle of a shouting match while Cress awkwardly watched. "I would feel more comfortable returning with Heron." Cress piped up, but she was barely heard. It seemed it mattered not what she wanted, despite being the one whose future was at stake. Cress rose, she was tired of playing the meek rabbit. Cress was better than that. She cleared her throat, both of them stopping long enough to stare at her.

"I said I want to return with Heron." Cress placed her hands on her hips, "I don't care about what happens next, but I want to stay with Heron. I feel safer with her," Heron sidled up behind her, a sly smile on her lips. She wrapped an arm around Cress's waist, her expression one of keen satisfaction. It was clear that for once, someone was on Heron's side and not Itward's. "Then you'll both stay here," Itward said suddenly, but Heron shook her head. "It's too far out of the way, I've got work in the morning. Look, I only came here to ask for your help, I don't need your protection." Itward was grinding his teeth at this point. "You said the rebels were after you, of course you need my protection! There's nowhere safer than our house!"

"Yeah, but I don't want to be here." Heron crossed her arms, releasing Cress from her grasp. Itward ran a hand through his hair in frustration. "Fine," he said at last. "Fine, go back to your apartment. I'll come in the morning to pick Kairi up. You'll go straight to the Queen," Cress crossed her arms. "Isn't she the one that got rid of me in the first place?" Heron and Itward both looked at her. "We don't know that," Itward said after an awkard lapse of silence. "I don't think we should take her to the Queen," Heron agreed, her arm was around Cress's waist again, almost as though it fell there instinctively. "What about the Princess?" Itward inquired, taking a seat once more. It was past midnight now, they were all tired.

"I'm fine with meeting the Princess," Cress replied a bit too quickly. "Of course, she's your sister. I'm sure you're eager to reunite with her." Heron pulled Cress onto her lap on the couch again. "I'm just afraid that she's not who I think she is." Cress admitted, but they did not know what she meant by that of course. "I'm going to have my driver take you home." Itward pulled out what looked like a piece of glass, the screen illuminating, images projected above it. Cress had never seen anything like it before. "I don't want you taking the train this late. I'll be at your apartment in the morning, if Kairi is who she says she is, she needs to be coached. You don't just declare yourself a Princess and have the mannerisms of a rubble."

Shiro was in slight shock. She looked between Princess Narisia and the rabbit-eared girl, who claimed to be a Princess as well. The DNA strains confirmed it. Shiro grit her jaw, wondering how there could be two Princess. Did that mean she was to serve both of them? How come she had never heard of or seen this Princess before now? Shiro nervously glanced between the Princess and the-other Princess. She called herself Cress, but wasn't that the same name of the girl that had been at the ball the other night? The one by the side of Aine? Or rather, the imposter Aine. Did that mean the other Princess was a rebel? Is that why Shiro had never heard of her? They would be staying here the night, Itward would not allow them to leave with rebels running around loose, but hadn't they already infiltrated his home?

"Wait, Ellie!" Shiro stepped quickly between the rabbit called Crescent and the Princess. "U-um please address the Princess by her name," Shiro said nervously, not wanting this imposter to disrespcet the Princess. "Fine, Princess Nari-whatever-"

"Narisia!"

"Your snootyness," Shiro crossed her arms. "Fine, Princess Narisia," she waved air quotes around the Princess part, but Shiro was satisfied for the most part. "I can't just go back to earth, I don't know how much time has passed there, if the continuum is different. I also apparently never belonged there. That woman on earth isn't my Mom and that man sure as hell wasn't my Dad. My world has been turned upside down and you're just giving me the cold shoulder. I'm sorry if this isn't what you wanted, but this isn't what I wanted either. I can't just go back, not without answers at least. I need to talk to to the Queen." Shiro glanced between the rabbit and the Princess, wondering if they could beleive anything she said.

"I think it would be best if all of this was talked out in the morning," Itward said decisively. Heron jumped in as well, pulling the rabbit-girl away. Narisia stepped forward, warning Heron to stay away from the girl. Shiro's tail wagged, wondering if she should say something as well to back the Princess up. "Relax Nee, I'm just protecting her." Cress, perhaps seeing Narisia's protective side as well, sidled up beside Heron. "I asked for her help," she cocked a hip, crossing her arms. "Everyone relax," Itward said suddenly. "Come, I'll show you to your rooms." He led them upstairs to the guest wing, Cress and Heron each given a separate room, per the legitimate Princess's request. "Shiro you can sleep in-"

"That's okay! I can sleep on the floor beside the Princess's bed." After all, she was just a loyal dog and she had to stay close to the Princess to protect her, not that she could protect her very well. "Alright then, I'll have a servant bring in a spare cot." Shiro's tail wagged as she opened up the door, glad she could do at least this much right. As she sat down on the mattress she suddenly realized that she had not been expecting an overnight trip. She had brought no change of clothes and no spare diapers. Her cheeks turned red as she came to this revelation, wondering what she would do. She couldn't very well stay in this soiled one, now could she? It would begin to smell in a few hours.

Shiro was nervous of course, sleeping in the same room as the Princess would normally be considered indecent, but Shiro had to stay by her side. She would remain the night to make sure that the Princess was safe and stick by her side, which is what the Queen would want. If Shiro went astray, then she would be punished. She changed into pajamas that someone had set on the cot for her and went to the bathroom to clean out her diaper the best she could, it would just have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully it wouldn't begin to smell in the meanwhile. "Goodnight Princess, don't be afraid to wake me during the night if you need anything," Shiro said as she tucked herself into bed, her tail wagging until she drifted off, thumb somehow ending up in her mouth as she slept.

"Shiro, come here!" One of the maids called out to her. She picked up the ball she was playing with in the garden and to meet the call. "What is it?" She asked, the maid's face a mere shadow. "The Queen is calling for you," she went stiff with fright. The Queen? Shiro had been living in the castle for as long as she could remember, but the Queen still intimidated her. "Yes, this way," the woman took Shiro's hand, they had all known this day would come, the day Shiro was finally old enough to begin her duties. She was small, never having been very big to begin with, but the day she was summoned by the Queen was one she had always been preparing for, both physically and mentally. Shiro clutched her ball as they neared the Queen's quarters.

"My Lady, she is here." The door opened, the Queen sitting on a velvet couch, wearing a dress that dripped with pearls. "Ah, there you are." Her smile was benevolent, but Shiro had seen her angry before, she knew that behind that smile were evil thoughts, bad thoughts. Shiro swallowed hard and curtsied, dropping her ball. "You must be Shiro," the Queen leaned forward. "Please, raise your head." Shiro braved a peek upwards, "from today on, you will be training to become my daughter's Lady in Waiting." She reached out a hand and Shiro braved a step closer, then another. The Queen's palm settled on her head, "so cute and small." She smiled, but it did not quite reach her eyes. "Let's ensure that never changes."

Shiro awoke to the sound of the Princess rising. Oh no! She had overslept, hadn't she? She expected her collar to shock her, she braced for it, then recalled that the Princess had-had it turned off. The first thing she noticed was the smell, the color draining from her face. "I-I apologize Princess for keeping this from you," Shiro hung her head, feeling slightly ashamed of herself. Nio came in then, with a change of clothing. Shiro took them gratefully, confused when Nio gestured for her to come with her. She looked between Nio and the Princess, but the Princess made the decision for her, Shiro would stay, because she served Narisia first. As soon as the door closed, Shiro's cheeks heated up with shame, her tail hanging between her legs.

"S-since that day I f-fell off the balcony, I haven't been able to feel when I need to use the restroom, so I've-" her cheeks turned even redder, if that was possible. "I've been wearing diapers and I didn't bring any spares b-because I didn't realize we were staying the night!" She bowed, wondering if the Princess would discharge her from service for being such a bad dog.

Shiro fully expected the Princess to find her disgusting, she expected the Princess to be repulsed by her presence and wish for her to be discharged from service. Her head snapped up in surprise when the Princess said that it wasn't her fault. She looked down at again, squeezing her hands together. The Princess knew that it was her Mother who had done this, but even so, Shiro could never admit to it. To blame the Queen for her actions was like asking to be executed. "I-I will!" Shiro looked up again, cheeks still pink, but her tail wagging. It was clear she was happy, her tail completely giving her emotions away. "Thank you Princess," Shiro curtsied, her relief palbable. Shiro didn't know what she would have done if the Princess fired her, she couldn't survive out there on her own.

Shiro didn't know if she could even provide for herself. She didn't know where food came from, or how to prepare it. The only thing Shiro knew was her life in the castle. "Yes Princess!" Shiro bustled off to the bathroom to change herself once Nio delivered the diaper. She made sure to scrub herself clean so that there was no smell and used a bit of scented oil, just in case. Once she exited the bathroom, Shiro assisted the Princess in dressing herself and then the two made their way to breakfast. Shiro sat beside the Princess, a rare occasion where she and the Princess could sit together at the same table, considering Shiro was a guest in this household as well. It made her nervous, but Itward insisted that it was fine.

Heron was feeding their prisoner breakfast, which Shiro was fine with. "What if she was blackmailed into doing it?" Shiro asked quietly. "The rebels aren't above using those means." What if Aya too, was a victim? Then surely delivering her to be executed by the Queen would be morally wrong? Shiro couldn't answer for the Princess though and it was the Princess who was offended by Aya's impersonation of her friend. A girl Shiro did not recognized came downstairs, she had bright red eyes and short cropped hair. She took a seat next to Heron, scooting closer to the table. "You must feel much better without all of those modifications," Itward mentioned, bowing his head.

It dawned on Shiro who the girl was. The other Princess! This must be what she looked like without her disguise! Shiro's eyes sparkled, while Princess Narisia's eyes were cold and calculating the second Princess's eyes were warm and fiery. She had her Father's eyes, while Princess Narisia had her mother's. "Good morning Ellie," she said, taking a bite out of a piece of bread. Itward suddenly rose, as though taken aback. "You-you're the other rebel!" Despite his yelling, the other Princess seemed unperturbed. "Well, yeah? How the hell was I gonna get to my sister if I didn't manipulate those guys?" Of course, she had barely done any manipulating, but they didn't need to know that.

Shiro sat back and looked at her lap, recalling that it was not her place to speak out of turn. "Yes Princess, I'm sorry." Shiro whispered, staring down at her plate. She had done something bad, hadn't she? She had spoken out of turn. It wasn't her place to mention things like whether or not Aya was actually a rebel. "It won't happen again," she picked up her fork, falling silent. Cress joined the fray, taking her seat beside Heron and next to Aya. Shiro watched her, she had none of the mannerisms of a Princess, placing both elbows on a able and running her finger around the rim of her glass of juice. She had no training, Shiro could tell, unlike Princess Narisia, whose posture was perfect and folded both hands elegantly in her lap. They were a stark contrast, fire and water. Not for the first itme, Shiro wondered where this Princess had been all of this time.

"With all due respect Ellie, I don't know what's real and what's not right now. That woman on earth isn't even my Mother." Cress's eyes were full of fire, Shiro swallowed hard, glancing at Princess Narisia. The second Princess sighed, leaning back against her seat, her arms crossed. "Sorry, I just... I want answers." It was clear she was confused, Shiro glanced back tentitively at the others. They all went back to speaking of Aya. Shiro's tail wagged tensely, wondering if they would truly let Aya go. "If giving you the information on the rebels will make you leave Aya alone, then I'll tell you." Cress replied, taking what Shiro thought was an angry bite out of her eggs. Was it possible to eat angrily? Shiro didn't know. "That's a good thing, Princess, right?" Shiro secretly hoped that Aya too, would get to go free.

"Promise me," Cress leaned back in her seat, she had finished off her food quickly. "I'll promise in the Princess's stead, since she cannot make such a vow." Itward said suddenly. "Give us the information you have on the rebels and Aya will go free. You have my word," Cress nodded, seemingly satisfied. Was it wrong that Shiro was glad that someone else was under extreme scrutiny for once? She was just glad they weren't looking at her. Cress took a long sip out of her juice, then at last started speaking. She told them everything, from the day she had gotten there, leading up to the ball, including the plan to befriend Heron and ask for her protection, then she confessed to getting drunk and confessing everything to Heron, who had promised to protect her before they-well-Heron covered Shiro's ears so she didn't know what that part was.

When Cress finished, she sat back in her chair and took another long sip of her juice. "That's a lot to take in," Itward had recorded the entire thing of course, so that he could listen to it later and review the information. "That's everything I know," Cress said at last. "I think you covered all your bases," Heron said shamelessly, patting Cress's shoulder. "Here, I'll get you more juice," she picked up Cress's cup and disappeared into the kitchen.

Shiro listened quietly, Princess Narisia was angry at Heron for sleeping with the Princess, but for some reason, Cress seemed even angrier. She slapped her hand against the table, the other on her hip. "It wouldn't have come to that if you had just listened to me at the ball!" Shiro meekly sat back, her gaze falling to her lap. She coudn't protect the Princess from this anger, but somehow, she couldn't help but feel as though it was partially her fault. After all, she had mistaken Cress for another servant, she hadn't intervened when the Princess brushed Cress off. Shiro squirmed, her tail drooping. Nio pat her arm, shaking her head. No doubt she felt the pain of it as well, thinking that you had failed your Master, even if it wasn't actually your fault.

Cress sank back down. For some reason, Aya too, seemed angry about Heron and Cress's fornication. "What if-" Shiro squeaked, then recalled it wasn't her place. They were already staring at her though, she cleared her throat, unable to look up from her lap. "What if Aya was trained as a lady in waiting?" She asked quietly, squirming. "This way Cress has more credibility as a Princess once she's presented before the Queen?" She glanced at the Princess, wondering if her idea was approved or not. "I'm not going to force Aya to do anything she doesn't want to. I just wanted to save her from her abusive home." Cress crossed her arms, leaning back in her seat. Heron returned with more juice and Cress took her glass gratefully.

Princess Narisia began to describe what the Queen was like, cold, unforgiving, strict. Shiro had seen all of these attributes in the Queen. Of course, she had also seen a side most others, fortunately, did not get to see. Her cruelty. "It doesn't surprirse me," Cress replied, "considering the way you act around here." It wasn't an insult, technically, but Shiro felt insulted in the Princess's stead. Still, she knew better to talk out of turn, even if her tail was now wagging angrily. "Either way, we have to prepare Princess Cress for meeting her," Itward said suddenly. It was clear that Cress was set on seeking answers. "I think it would be safest if she remained here, in my custody, where she can be trained as a proper Princess.

"I want to stay with Heron," Cress insisted, crossing her arms. Shiro glanced back at Princess Narisia, then at Itward, then at Heron, who was beaming and had put an arm around Cress's shoulder as though to gloat to the others. What was going to happen? Shiro had no say of course, but Cress would lose credibility if she stayed with a lowly knight like Heron in the dorms. "Um Princess, what about an apartment in the Untouchable Tier? Not Heron's, but her own?" If the Princess approved, Cress could live there until the Princess could figure out how to return her to earth.

Cress glared, it seemed that there was a lot she didn't agree with, but wasn't in a position to bargain. "Just because you've ascended to princess doesn't mean you have to act like a cold bitch Ellie." She rose, Shiro rising too. She stood in Cress's way, who clearly intended to leave. "Y-you should apologize." Shiro's tail swished nervously. There was a fire in Cress's eyes, one that Shiro was afraid would consume her. "Why?" Shiro swallowed hard, it was clear that she wasn't going to be able to calm things down, but it was her job to protect the princess and in Shiro's mind, that meant from verbal abuse as well. "B-because she's your sister! Sisters shouldn't fight!" Shiro had never had a sister, she had never had a family. She didn't know what it was like when siblings fought.

"P-please?" Shiro tried, her tail sagging, "at least sit back down?" She tried to bargain. "Fine," Cress angrily went back to her seat, sitting back down and crossing her arms. "See? That wasn't so hard." Shiro sat back down beside Princess Narisia and continued to eat her breakfast as though nothing happened. Of course, Shiro couldn't possibly imagine what was going through either Princess's mind. She didn't know what earth was like, but perhaps one day she would ask? Unless the Princess did not want ot speak of it ever again, then Shiro would not. "I agree that Cress would be safest away from my sister." Itward crossed his arms, leaning back in his seat.

Shiro too, knew that Heron would creep on any vulnerable prey. No doubt the second Princess had been feeling especially lonely when Heron intoxicated her. "I can assign guards to protect her, private security so the Queen won't get word of this. Tutors as well, if Princess Cress wants to go before hte Queen, she needs to prove her lineage. No offense," Cress shook her head. "Don't call me Princess," she mumbled, her nails digging into her arms. Heron leaned over, placing a hand on top of Cress's and peeling it away so that Cress wouldn't hurt herself. As though she were a small child and not a teenager. It was an oddly gentle gesture, it was clear that despite Heron's womanizing ways, she truly did care for Cress.

"Princess-" Shiro suddenly squeaked, noticing the time. "P-perhaps we should leave the rest to Itward and begin making our way back to the castle?" It was almost noon now, which meant that they would need to be getting back. Princess Narisia had permission to be out, but not this late and no doubt the Queen would begin to wonder where they had gone. Shiro glanced at Aya, the rebel, and wondered if the Princess would truly let her go or if she had simply said that to appease her supposed sister.

Warm, like a fire. The King's hug was all-encompasing, Shiro couldn't help but lean into it. This wasn't her Father, she recalled, quickly pulling back, it wasn't her place. She stared at his eyes, fiery and red. She had never thought she would see eyes like that on another and yet, it was proof of that girl's lineage. She truly was a Princess, wasn't she? "Oh good, Narisia has returned." The Queen waltzed into the paror, dressed in her finery. Today she wore something that seemed far too simple for her extravagant taste, perhaps she had not entertained guests today? Shiro didn't know, ever since becoming a full-time lady in waiting, she did not have time to keep up with the schedule of the Queen.

Quickly Shiro dipped into a curtsy, not wanting to be punished for disrespecting the Queen. "Let's all go eat," the King gestured towards the dining hall, where a grand feast had been layed out. The Queen scoffed, "A servant cannot eat with the royal family, we've spoken about this dear." She pat her husband's shoulder, but there was no affection in her touch. "Nonsense, there is plenty of food to go around. I insist!" The Queen's eyebrow twitched, but she smiled regardless. "Fine, if you insist." Shiro knew better though, she knew she could not accept the invitation. "Thank you, but I have to take care of Princess's Narisia's room, so if you you'll please excuse me-" the King grabbed Shiro by the shoulder, thrusting her forward towards the dining room. Her tail bolted upright in surprise and she stumbled, nearly falling. "I refuse! You must eat with us, come!" It seemed that there was no way out.

The next morning, the Princess had a private lesson with one of her tutors. Shiro was taking care of other things, like changing the sheets on the Princess's bed. She didn't hear the door open and was fluffing the pillows when someone grabbed her. "Shiro, where were you really last night?" The Queen demanded. Shiro swallowed hard, "I-W-we were at Itward Cherubim's home, m-my Queen!" She stumbled to curtsy, but the Queen grabbed her and pulled her upright. "The Cherubim's? What was Narisia doing at a boy's overnight?" Shiro took a step back, but she was stuck between the Queen and the wall. "Shiro, tell me." The Queen crossed her arms, clearly cross. "I-I can't!" She bowed low to the floor. "I'm sorry my Queen, but Princess Narisia has ordered me-"

"And you think my daughter giving you an order overrules the Queen? She cupped Shiro's chin in her fingertips. "Shiro, if you don't tell me what happened there by choice, then I will have to force it out of you." Her eyes flit to the collar, she noticed, hadn't she? "My daughter disabled this, didn't she?" Shiro's non-answer was answer enough. "She thinks she's so clever." Shiro began to shake, she was going to be punished, wasn't she? Her tail was between her legs. Had she not already been wearing a diaper, she surely would have soiled herself. "You're going to give me an answer Shiro, have I made that clear?" Shiro nodded, the threat enough. "There-there was another Princess there! She called herself Cress and said she was Princess Narisia's sister." The Queen's eyes grew colder, if possible.

"Sister? That's impossible. Why are you lying?" Shiro whimpered, taking a step back and hitting the wall. "I-I'm not! I-I th-thought she was l-lying too, b-but her DNA confirmed it!" The Queen's eyes widened in anger. "Impossible!" Shiro whimpered, flinching. "Where is she now?" Shiro cowered, shaking her head. "Where is she!" The Queen howled, grabbing Shiro by the hair. "A-at Itward's! She-she's staying there until they can find her an apartment!" The Queen released her, shoving Shiro aside. "Shiro, come with me." She rose to her feet, following after the Queen, fearful. They went to the Queen's room, where someone was waiting with a leather suitcase. "My Queen," he bowed, his face concealed by a mask. He had black hair and no distinguishing features, except his smile.

It was fanged.

"You may rise, this is who you will be testing it on." Shiro took a step back, he glanced at her and unlatched his leather briefcase. There were colorful vials inside, each containing what looked to be a chip. "No need to fear me," he held out an arm. Shiro took a hesitant step forward. "Shiro," the Queen said impatiently. She shuffled inside, the door closing behind her. "This won't hurt a bit," he undid the collar around Shiro's neck and wiped her skin with a sanitation wipe. She closed her eyes, the pinch of the needle and the liquid inside burning. "There, all done." He placed a small bandaid over the injection site before replacing her collar. "These are symptoms you'll need to look out for, any device like this could be rejected from the body-" the Queen waved it off. "Yes, yes. Shiro, you may return to your duties and you will not disobey me again, do you understand?"

Shiro swallowed hard and nodded. "Y-yes my Queen!" She hurried off to return to Princess Narisia's room, her heart pounding.

Shiro was cowering in the Princess's room. She had forgotten that she was supposed to meet her after making the bed, she had forgotten about everything. She was standing still, clutching the pillow, her fingers trembling. She had to move, she had to do something. "I-I have to," the door opened. Shiro cowered, expecting to be hit, but it was Princess Narisia. She strode forward, Shiro holding the pillow as though it would protect her from whatever wrath she had incurred. "I-I'm sorry," Shiro whimpered. She had tried to tell the Queen, but the Queen had gotten the best of Shiro again. She placed the pillow down, the bed sheets on so tight that you could bounce a coin off of it. It was clear that Shiro had made and unmade the past for the past few hours.

The Princess gestured for Shiro to come closer. She did so, hesitant, afraid of being punished. She stiffened when Narisia touched her, disabling the shock function on the collar yet again. She whimpered when the Princess jabbed her, hardly noticing the lack of pain. Even with whatever the Princess had done to her, the response was so ingrained into Shiro that it was instinctive. There was something wrong with her, Shiro had known all this time. She knew that something was amiss ever since she had broken her leg and it had healed within an hour. She sunk onto the Princess's couch, then immediately stood up, knowing that she shouldn't be sitting there. "There's something wrong with me?" Shiro whispered.

"The Queen had a strange man inject me with something," she admitted, her voice small and afraid. She didn't know what it was, "she said I won't be able to disobey her anymore." Not that Shiro had ever disobeyed her in the first place. "I-I've never seen that man here before," her tail was hanging between her legs, stiff with fear. She had to change her diaper too, having soiled herself when the Queen visited. Shiro could not remove her own collar, there was a lock on it that she could not take off, lest she wanted to be punished. "I don't know what it was." She fidgeted, wondering why the Princess bothered to keep her around. She wasn't smart like the other workers, she was clumsy and messed up a lot. The only thing Shiro had going for her was cuteness.

"I'm sorry Princess," Shiro choked. "She made me tell her everything and-and I tried to say no." She didn't want to cry, but she could feel the threat of tears. "I'm sorry I keep failing." Shiro was the worst lady-in-waiting, wasn't she? She couldn't even properly defend the Princess's good name against the others.

In the truck, Farrel pulled off his wig, putting the leather suitcase down. "Did you do it?" Xion asked, sitting in the driver's seat. They took off as soon as Farrel was secured. "Yup, I injected several of the servants, including the Princess's lady in waiting." He wiggled his eyebrows, clearly proud of himself. "Good," the chips that he had injected them with would allow them access to the most important servants in the castle. This way, they would be able to track the movements of the royals. "I still can't believe Cress betrayed all of us." He sighed, running a hand through his hair. Xion shook her head, she was smiling. "She didn't betray any of us, she did exactly as I wanted her to."

Shiro tried to think back, her panic having overwhelmed her. He had black hair," she recalled, squirming as the Princess evaluated her blood. "And fangs," that was all Shiro could truly recall. She had been so afraid of being hurt that she had blocked out most of the memory. "I-I'm sorry Princess, that's all I can remember." Most of his features had been obscured by his long black hair, but that was the one thing she could not forget, his sharp smile. She watched as the Princess played with a remote, wondering what it was. She had the wherewithal not to ask, however, knowing that royals did not like their privacy to be pried into. As nice as Princess Narisia was, she truly was her Mother's daughter. Shiro had to be careful, she hadn't enacted Narisia's temper so far, but she knew what would happen if she did.

"I'm sorry Princess," she squirmed. She felt a sudden pain in her neck, beneath her collar. It was at the exact spot that she had been injected as well. "If I had been braver, I wouldn't have told the Queen anything." She was the worst secret keeper, wasn't she? Cracking under the pressure of anyone that threatened her. The Princess wanted to try out one of her inventions, Shiro shuffled forward, hesitant. She squeaked when she was grabbed around the waist and the Princess suddenly dove out the window. Shiro screamed, her tail stiff with fear. She was a bad girl, wasn't she? That's why this was happening again, wasn't it? The hit never came though, she did not splat against the ground, like she had the first time. Shiro peeled open one eye, then the other. They were flying, flying?!

They returned an hour later, the Princess giving Shiro a new order. She wasn't to leave her side, even at night. "B-but Princess, that wouldn't be appropriate!" Shiro turned red, her tail swishing back and forth anxiously. The Princess promised that she would take care of her Mother should there be any protest. "O-okay, please allow me to run your bath while you eat your dinner!" She curtsied low, then excused herself to begin the nighttime preprations. Shiro ran the bath, turned down the bed, adjusted the temperature in the morning to the Princess's evening preference, and then quickly ate her dinner while the Princess was in the bath. She changed into her pajamas, picking up her pillow and blanket and making a little bed in the corner of the Princess's room. She didn't want to impose or be in the way, after all.

"Goodnight Princess, p-please do not hesitate to wake me if you need anything!" Shiro lay down, pulling the covers up. She had sneaked in her stuffed bear, which she did not want the Princess to see as it was a bit embarrassing. Shiro was still young, after all, younger than most of the other staff at least and younger than the Princess. She lay her head down, the floor a bit uncomfortable, but not unbearable. Her mattress wasn't the best, nowhere near as comfortable as a bed that the royals slept on. Her eyelids began to feel heavy, the blanket pulled up to her real ears. Asleep, her puppy ears flopped down and her tail was still, the implants going to bed with her.

"H-how long do I have to wear this?" Shiro whimpered, it was a brace that physically suppressed her spine. They were stopping her growth forcefully, through this painful accessory and pills to close her growth plates. "Until the plates are completely closed Shiro, you know this already." The Queen replied, an edge to her voice. She had already answered Shiro's question three times. It was clear that there was something wrong with the little girl, she seemed almost incapable of learning. The Queen's patience was beginning to wear thin. While Shiro could do simple addition, read, and write, which was more than all the Rubbles combined, it was her duties that she proved most incompetent in. She was far too clumsy, had no sense of style, and made far too much a mess.

"Oh Shiro, you poor little thing." The Queen tsked when she failed at making the bed properly again. The other servants talked about her behind closed doors, that Shiro was far too naive, that she would never be a suitable servant. Shiro tried to ignore them, but at night, she couldn't help but worry about if they were right. "Shiro, I have a gift for you." The Queen smiled, seeming so benevolent and beautiful in the light of the early morning. "A gift? For me?" Shiro asked, her eyes sparkling. She never received gifts, unless the spine brace and pills were considered presents. "Yes, it's very special. It was made just for you," the Queen took out a box wrapped in red paper. Shiro was careful to open it, removing the bow and folding the wrapping paper carefully. The Queen was watching her with a measured gaze, gauging her reaction.

"It's a dog collar?" Shiro asked, a bit confused. "No, not a dog collar," the Queen lifted it out of the box, it was pink with a gold bow on it, her name engraved into the tag. "It's a special training collar," a special training collar? "Oh," she did not understand what it meant, but she hoped it was a good thing. It was only an hour later that she discovered its true purpose. Each time she did badly, the collar would administer a shock. "Think of it as motivation to be better." The Queen said, stroking her head as she cried, the electricity making her body twitch. "With this, you will become the perfect lady in waiting. No dinner tonight, alright?" Shiro nodded, going to bed hungry.

The next morning came another surprise. "Shiro, the Doctor is waiting for you." Shiro nodded, following, still in her night gown. She was wearing the brace and her new collar, trudging behind the Queen, barefoot, sleepy. They gave her medicine that put her to sleep quickly and she awoke in horrible pain. "She will have to remain here for several days, it is not an easy recovery." The Doctor spoke in soft words, the Queen standing over the bed, her arms crossed. Shiro feigned sleep, in far too much pain to ask what had been done. "Uterus removal is a serious surgical procedure my Queen."

Shiro awoke with a start. The Princess had an arm around her, holding her. She blinked twice, wondering what had happened and stiffening when she realized the Queen was there. "G-good morning! I apologize, I did not see you!" She tried to curtsy, but she realized that Princess Narisia had her arms wrapped around her middle, hugging her like a stuffed toy.

Shiro was confused when she first awoke. How had she gotten into the Princess's bed? Why was the Princess hugging her? She swiped at her eyes, attempting to curtsy in her sleepy state. The Queen grinned, as she left, no doubt plotting something. Shiro watched her leave, not breathing a sigh of relief until the Princess released her. "Y-yes! I'll prepare now!" She had brought clothing last night, knowing that she would need them. Shiro changed in the corner, hoping for some modicum of privacy so that the Princess did not see the cloth diaper she wore underneath. Once dressed, she turned to assist the Princess and assisted in dressing her, pulling up the strings of the corset to make sure it was snug and not too tight. She zipped up the back of the dress and picked out complimentary pieces for the outfit.

It was part of Shiro's training to have an eye for these things. "Oh no Princess! I can do it, that's alright!" Shiro carried both trays, not wanting the Princess to burden herself. She set them down on the table, glad that she could do at least this much. "Ah, your napkin Princess!" Shiro set it down on the Princess's lap. She took her seat, eating quickly so that she could make the bed. She folded the corners, tucking them in so that the Princess would have a snug bed for the evening. She folded her makeshift bed in the corner as well, hiding her stuffed bear in between the layers, hoping that the Princess didn't see. Shiro didn't know her exact age, she knew she was young, but the Queen had hidden the information from her in an attempt to make Shiro more mature.

After breakfast were lessons with Tutri Vance. Shiro was struggling again, which wasn't anything new. "I'm sorry," she apologized in a squeak, tail coming to rest on the chair. "I'll do better next time," she expected to be punished of course, but the punishment never came. Instead, the Princess offered to help Shiro with her homework. She wanted to exploit her knowledge, but Shiro wasn't all that smart in the first place. After a gift of chocolates, which Shiro knew she wasn't allowed to have, least the Queen be on top of her, Tutri left. The Pricness wanted to go right to her father after, Shiro following along behind her. She had no idea that Narisia intended to propose to her father that they should learn to fight.

It wouldn't be appropriate for a Princess to learn such things! Shiro shook her head when the King glanced at her, to see if she had any part in this idea. She swallowed hard, hoping that King Azazel would not tell the Queen about this. Her tail flickered nervously, her ears twitching. "P-Princess, you have the knights to protect you! You don't need to learn anything like that." She tugged on Princess Narisia's sleeve, wanting to leave the throne room.

❝I am a hell in high heels. ❞

ɗιαƖσgυє cσƖσя:#CD5C5C ♙ тнσυgнт cσƖσя #C5E3BF

|| Flaws || Bastille ||

A light knocking came from the door. Cress had fallen asleep, curled up on the couch. Heron pushed the door open, she had finished work for the day and had come straight here, skipping out on eating dinner with the other knights. They teased her, thinking that Heron had met someone. Little did they know that she had accidentally stumbled upon a Princess. "Hey, Cress?" Heron whispered, attempting to rouse her from her slumber. Lunch was sitting, uneaten on a tray. How long had she been asleep for? She picked up the cup of tea, noticing the heavy flower scent. "Itward," she placed the cup down, slamming the door open. Itward was standing on the other side, eyes narrowed. "I see you've already discovered it. I thought it would be easier and safer to move the Princess if she did not know where she was going."

"Itward, what do you intend to do with Cress?" Heron asked, one hand on the handle of rapier. "Oh come off of it Heron, Narisia sees no reason this girl should remain here, but I think Crescent could be a valuable asset to our Kingdom. She's different, she wasn't raised with the same ideals and has no loyalties to anyone but her dear sister, who betrayed her." Heron's grip only tightened on her weapon. "You intend to use her then?" She asked, her voice steely. Itward waved a hand through the air. "No, no, I intend to groom her into a fine Princess and use her against the Queen when the time comes." Heron's teeth ground together, "You are despicable." She spat at her brother, but her brushed her off, entering the room. She couldn't raise a hand against him, not against her family.

"And you'll continue to do as I say because I'm the head of the Cherubim household and if you want to continue having spicy midnight rendezvous with your lover, I suggest you keep your toes in line. Now help me bring her to the car." Heron's arms fell to her sides, her hands balling into fists. He was right, they were at his complete mercy. "I hate you," she whispered as she lifted the sleeping Princess. "I'm well aware, it's why you left for knighthood in the first place, isn't it?" He held the door open, Heron carrying Cress to the car. She was fast asleep, completely unaware of the fact that the people she had entrusted her safety to had betrayed her. "Are you coming?" Itward asked, getting into the car behind her. "Of course, I need to know where she'll be." Itward shrugged, strapping himself in.

They needed to be careful, the Queen had accosted him before, they were sticking to back roads now, taking an unmarked vehicle he had rented from a place this morning. The drive was uneventful, thankfully, Heron remaining on edge the entire time. When they at last reached the new place, Heron blanched. "This isn't an apartment, didn't you tell Nee it was an apartment?" It was a gated house on the edge of the Untouchable Tier. It was on a side street with no traffic and no other homes, how had Itward found this place? "I needed it to be secure, of course. A one bedroom apartment in the center of the city would be far too obvious a place, don't you think?" The inside was nice, completely furnished.

"How much did you spend on this place Itward?" Heron whispered under her breath as she placed Cress in the bedroom, who had not so much as stired. She placed a finger under her nose to check that she was breathing and low and behold, the Princess jerked upright. "This isn't the room..." she looked around, startled to see Heron there. "No, we moved you while you slept. You were in there pretty deep!" Heron grinned, slightly relieved that Cress had awoken. "I had a nightmare, it felt like I was trapped." Heron jumped onto the bed, kicking off her shoes. "Want to tell me what it was about?" She asked, swinging her legs like a teenage girl. "Aya, it was about Aya."
