Introduction
Many forces and spirits prevail, at least in the world of Atmora. In this world, however, there are 5 prevailing forces, all of which keep the balance. Hope, Destiny, Fate (which is different then Destiny), Strength, and Wisdom. These 5 forces keep the balance and allow people to live their life.
The Spirit of Destiny and the Spirit of Fate, twins, Brother and Sister, are similar but not the same. Destiny is what is to come and what has been predicted, while fate is what happens to you as a person and who you become. Hope, Strength, and Wisdom are fairly obvious in themselves, but also stand for other key attributes. Strength is attributed to the warrior. Hope to the Ranger. Wisdom to the Caster.
Now, something has happened to Destiny. Evil forces have found a way to momentarily corrupt destiny, and change and control it, as well as then trapping it. Evil has gained significant power from this, as it is slowly learning how to permanently control Destiny now that it is trapped. Panicking, Fate used this momentary kidnapping to harness the slight hole in The Rift left by it. It uses this hole to call forward Chosen Ones to help. Normally, all 5 much approve of calling forth A Chosen One in such way, and then which attribute to guide him or her under. But this was a special occasion.
Now, there is only one problem.
These Chosen Ones were apparently all pulled out of an alternate dimension. And even from alternate timelines possibly.
The new arrivals wake up at a major crossroads in Atmora. A small town resides in this crossroads. And Right infront of "Jura's Inn".
Atmora: Background information:
The Technology Age:
Atmora isn't truly all on the same tech level. The more higher tech parts of Atmora are basically resembling late 1800s/early 1900s London, New York, or maybe Houston. There are only 5 laws anywhere in Atmora. No unprovoked/unreasonable murder, no thievery, no grave robbing, no extensive damage on something that is not your own, and no disrespecting the nobility in any way. Everything else is 100% legal. Now, there are more poorer areas, that basically resemble something from the 12th century. And then there is this middle area. With working plumbing and all that, but still fairly poorish.
That middle area is what the village you start in is.
However, their technology also took a turn in another direction. Clockwork.
Clockwork:
Clockwork is essentially technology and magic combined. Technology is the body, and magic is the power source. Additionally, magic is also sometimes the "brain" for some of them. There are many different types of Clockwork things.
Clockwork Rifle: A rifle made from Clockwork Technology, it can fire father and faster then any other rifle in Atmora. It fires anything that can fit into it.
Clockwork Pistol: same as the rifle, but shoots faster and can hold 3 shots at a time.
Clockwork Revolver: Rare revolver, hard to make, that can hold 6 shots at a time and is fairly powerful.
Clockwork Sword: A sword that not only can retract into a small, carriable handle, while also being very sharp and strong
Clockwork Soldier: giant Clockwork soldier. Can shoot lightning out of one arm, and can do a melee attack and grab people with the other.
Clockwork Spider: Can trample people. Is much faster then Clockwork Soldier. Can create artificial web to ensnare people.
Clockwork Battlement: Clockwork Cannon, huge, devastating.
Clockwork Tank: Self explanatory
Important Locations to note:
Starting Location: Herrington
Misty Mountain
Lake Luperdus
More will be added to as you discover them.
Magic?
Yes
Magic can be gained by 4 ways.
1: You are born with it
2: You are given it by the Spirits
3: You are given it by The Mage Council
4: You are stabbed by the horn of a unicorn and live....
Magic requires energy. Magic flows through energy.
Intelligent Races and Beings:
(Note: ALL of the Chosen Ones coming from the other world are human by default, and there is almost no way that can ever change. It cant change at all anytime near the beginning at all)
Humans: Duh, they basically go between all classes and such. Hurray for Human diversity!
Sheorgraph (Shifter): They have two forms, their human form, and their animal form. They are connected to one animal spirit, usually connected to them in some way. Often their eyes are a reflection of their personality in some way. However, they are also undoubtable the most lowest class race, of very few ever getting to nobility, at least publicly. Oftenly, they are slaves, and are beaten, abused, mistreated, and such. They also have a bit of their animal form in their human form, like a tail of a nose or such.
Embrios: Human in form, but they can generate fire from their hands and feet (and mouth). Their houses therefore are normally made of stone and non-flamable material. They are usually middle class as Bakers, Blacksmiths, and such. They also make excellent warriors.
Draconi: Humanoid, but they look Dragonlike. They also have Firebreath. Some believe Embrios are Draconi/Human offspring. Draconi are also often nobles, having increased intelligence and vision.
Fedori: Like humans, but they have more energy, and therefore more magic then most. Most of them also consider themselves higher then all other races, except to the Draconi, which they consider equals, and vice versa. They are almost always.
Jenji: The "organic computers" of this world, their brains allows them to preform massive amounts of calculations and analysis of everything. They also have tails, but their eyes make them clearly discernible, as they have reptilian eyes, despite being human in appearance. They are usually middle to upperclass, often as managers or assistants, with some architects and such.
Animals to note:
There are Dragons
There are unicorns.
There are wolves.
ANd there are various other magical creatures.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 5 authors
He had the fangs, ears, and tail of a wolf. He was a shifter. Shifters were the lowest class basically, essentially decreed after "The Beast Wars". His hair was fairly long, brown, and brown eyes. He was most likely the most notable person, even if other worlders entered the inn. Which they did.
He quickly went over and asked "You staying a night or multiple? Business, travel, or pleasure? Discreet or open stay? Group or are you all seperate? Or is there a middle grund? Anyone pregnant? Sorry, just need to ask for optimal comfort...". That's when a noble dropped his glass, and it almost hit the ground and broke, but Narren barely managed to catch it, and put it on the table, before quickly returning.
Meanwhile, the stranger watched them all, as if he was waiting for them. All of them.
A wolf like boy made his way towards the group bombarding them with questions "You staying a night or multiple? Business, travel, or pleasure? Discreet or open stay? Group or are you all seperate? Or is there a middle grund? Anyone pregnant? Sorry, just need to ask for optimal comfort..." Scratching his chin slightly looking down to the young boy. "Ah Well child, I have association with the fine people behind me. I suppose I shall be staying for multiple nights, Alone, and privet are my reasons for being here." Barron answered as his gentleman like accent speaking to the wolf like child with manor and kindness. Watching the boy dash to another table catching the dropped glass in mid air placing it back on the table.
Barron smiled at the graceful act, who ever this boy was he worked very hard at his job. Barron quickly realized that he had no money to pay the boy with, unless the commoners on this world used gold as well. Being snapped from his thought provoking trance was a stranger sitting a good distance away from them all watching and observing their every move. Thinking to himself Barron questioned "who is this person"
It had been a normal day. Evelyn had woken as normal, prepared for work as normal. She'd been leaving her apartment, car keys in hand, intending to grab a coffee before work. Upon opening the front door there was a blinding light, then darkness and a sensation of falling. It had felt like she would endlessly fall through a darkened void. Perhaps she would never stop falling. Perhaps she would forever remain that way, doomed to never lay eyes upon the light again. But finally, she had wrenched her eyes open and found herself lying face down in dirt, certainly not the floor of her apartment. Had she fallen unconscious? Had she had some kind of funny turn? If so, how had she ended up here?
Forcing herself to sit upright, Evelyn took a deep breath, the sound of blood in her ears fading slowly with every mouthful of air. Pushing her silky black hair from her even paler face, she bit her bottom lip hard. It was with caution that she raised her head enough to look around. She was able to see more from her new vantage point, but it did little to assist her on her whereabouts for she had never seen such a place. The dirt was actually a path, a crossroads to be precise. She had been about four feet from landing in a rather prickly looking shrub, one that she did not recognise. Wait, landing? Was she even sure that had been the case? Perhaps, she was dreaming…
Other than herself, she noticed various others clambering to their feet, some looking just as confused as she was. They seemed to be heading towards an Inn or Pub that had been nestled from Evelyn's view until she got to her feet. They all looked fairly normal. Well, what did she expect? For them to have tentacles or three heads? Or even to have features like a wolf? It was foolish to think that way, they were nothing but average humans. So why did Evelyn's skin begin to prickle with unease. Ignoring the feeling and brushing the dirt from her pale blue blouse and black trousers, she followed suit, her body tense and ready to spring into action. Or to run. It was yet to be decided. Her eyes never stopped moving, her fingernail digging into the smooth pink flesh of her palm.
Halting for a second at the door, she considered turning and walking away. No, she needed help. Perhaps they had a phone she could use, seeing as hers had been in her handbag, which clearly was nowhere to be seen. Carefully, she pressed her hands to the rough wooden doors and pushed it open.
A tirade of noise suddenly assaulted Evelyn's ears. She staggered slightly as her eyes adjusted to the slightly dimmer light of the Inn. In front of her, a man had halted and was being addressed by a young lad. She had to do a double take. He had wolf features. A nervous laugh escaped her lips. Her worst fears had just been confirmed. Quickly, she homed in the conversation, waiting for someone to ask the obvious. Was this all just a big joke?
"....Group or are you all seperate? Or is there a middle ground? Anyone pregnant? Sorry, just need to ask for optimal comfort...".
And then...
"Ah Well child, I have association with the fine people behind me. I suppose I shall be staying for multiple nights, Alone, and privet are my reasons for being here."
Frowning, Evelyn stepped forwards, avoiding looking at the young lad for fear that she might run away screaming.
"I just need a phone and the address of this place. I want to go home. I shouldn't be here." She whispered, shaking her head as she cast another look around the Inn, spotting a gentlemen in the corner watching them. She ignored this and continued. "I have no idea what I am doing here, nor do I wish to linger in order to find out. So if you could please just point me towards your phone. I have no money, but-" Her words faltered as she finally took a deep breath and dragged her eyes upon the boy.
This was all just a little too unreal...
As he opened the door he saw the wolf kid, nice kid, and a hard worker too. He adressed the group, asking them about their stay. The man who answered at least fit in with the rest of the mercenaries you typically saw around here, though the hardware he carried around was somewhat odd and he had seen quite a few designs.
Then he heard the girl whisper: "I just need a phone and the address of this place. I want to go home. I shouldn't be here." The word phone sparked his attention, more because he didn't know what it was than that the word seemed special. She whispered again "I have no idea what I am doing here, nor do I wish to linger in order to find out. So if you could please just point me towards your phone. I have no money, but-" Then her words stopped, as she looked at the wolf kid again. "She probably isn't from around here, if she is that startled by that kid. And then there is that phone thing, might be interresting."
He walked up to the girl and laid his hand on the girls shoulder. Forgetting that if she is getting startled by the wolf kid he probably would be even more of a surprise, with his red/green scaled skin, bright red eyes, the two horns on the back of his head and his sharp steakknife-like teeth. "Pardon me miss, but if I'm not mistaken then you aren't from around here. I do not know what this phone thing is what you are speaking about, but I might be of some assistance to you." He said as his hand touched the shoulder of the girl.
He did however realise that there had to be someone who brought them here, as peopel don't generally appear out of thin air without reason. Thinking that one of them probably was a mage with a fairly decent grip on his magic, he decided it might be interresting to get contact with them. Afterall magic was a very interresting thing, something he'd always wanted to study, out of curiosity than out of scientfic importance, but still.
The stranger just sat there. And, as if something was there, Narren seemed to trip right by him. "Sorry sir" he noted, before heading up. The stranger just had a non visible grin, his mouth was covered by a scarf. Definently not a scarf to keep warm in though. He continued to make no sign of aggression. He just watched, as if he was expecting something. There was some noises of things moving and/or falling upstairs. For a short while it got a little loud, but it soon stopped.
Narren cae back down. He had a slight cut on his cheek. "Sorry, a guest needed some furniture moved and my dad needed my help. Oh, my names Narren by the way. So, need anything".
That's when one man over by a table asked for an ale. "Alright! Now, you guys need anything also?"
Evelyn stared open-mouthed at the young lad, as he listened to someone calling him. He'd never heard of a phone before? Was he insane? Surely even out here, clearly in the middle of nowhere, they had phones? Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and prepared to plead with him to help her find her way home. This wasn't her place and she definitely did not belong here. If only she could ask him to point her in the right direction. She didn't get the chance however. For when she opened her eyes, she found that he'd disappeared on some errand. Releasing her held breath, she cast another look around the room, avoiding looking at the man who was openly staring at them and also the one who had entered before her. He clearly felt at home here, even though she'd seen him appear just as she had outside.
Consumed by watching the people within the Inn Evelyn didn't hear someone approach from behind. Blanching when they laid a hand on her shoulder, she pulled away and turned to face the stranger. A gasp escaped her lips as she pressed her hands to her mouth. Her eyes widened in shock, her face draining of its remaining colour. Before her stood a person who was seemingly half man, half lizard. Gulping, she stepped backwards, not quite catching all of his words over the din, but she did hear that he too didn't know what a phone was. How could that be? Were they all cut off from the outside world? But these thoughts never really formed in her head, for she was too scared to think of anything but running away. After a few moments of staring at the scaly skin and red eyes, she shook her head. This had to be some kind of joke. A convention or something. Maybe they were a cult? Yes, that's what it would be. Some kind of cult that took pleasure in dressing up as animals.
"Th-That's a good costume," Evelyn whispered, pointing at the scales that lined his face and his eyes that she now believed to be contacts. "You must have worked hard on that mask." She nodded, as though she were confirming it for herself. "Yes, yes it must be...It couldn't possibly be real now could it?" It was a comment intended for no-one but it came out fairly loud. It wasn't that she was being rude, only that she was frightened. And when the boy returned she turned to him, though she didn't present her back to the half lizard man, instead making sure she could see him the whole time.
"Your costume is good too," Evelyn said, a note of hysteria echoing in her tone. "Very cute, very cute...Now, please tell me how to get out of here. I want to go home. I want to go back to...Earth." She didn't know why she'd said it, only that it had slipped out before she could stop it.
He didn't really understand the hows and why's these poeple were brought to this place, but he already was involved liking it or not, his interrest in the girl and where she came from had already been fed. "I'm afraid that I'd have to say that neither his nor my appearance is a costume in any way. Also there isn't a place called Earth here on Atmora." He said calmly to the girl, carefully picking words as he spoke his thoughts.
He waved with his arm to an empty seat at an empty table close by, giving her a non-verbal invitation to take a seat. "I believe it would be best to take a moment, and put things into place. After that I'll see what I can do to help." He continued on the same tone. "Narren, two water, please!" He said trying to get his voice over the noise of the inn. He sat down, looking at the girl with a gentle smile, hoping she would pick up on his invitation to take a seat.
Barron smiled as he pointed to Gibari "Barron Van Black III, is my name and you miss?" He tried to remain open, happy and relaxed when he spoke to her. Making sure to keep her calm because from her facial expressions she was going insane on the inside doubting that what is happening is real. Even Barron had his doubts but remembering the strange dream before he awoken, everything began to fall into place and the pieces all fit together. He is on the path to save this world and bring it back from falling under to help the being who called him from death. A second chance was given and Barron would take full advantage of it, to live again was something you don't get very much
Narren's father was a big muscled man, who looked at least somewhat violent. For those of who that are new to town, you may have noticed a lack of mother. No one seems to talk about her, Narren knows nothing about her, and his father doesn't talk about it, he just gets drunk. Anyways, his father approached the Strangers, saying "Yes, I manage this place, may I help you?". This has caused some attention, and most people drank slowly, although the man who ordered the ale was already finished.
Anyways, after he said that, they put a sword through his chest. The final one blocked the main enterence, while the first stood up, and announcing "You scream, you die..."
"My name is Evelyn sir," She whispered, looking up long enough to stare him straight in the eye. "And I would also like to know exactly what is going on here." Now she turned to the lizard-man, a spark of confidence in her eye that glimmered for only a second. "We have yet to here your name..." Before she could continue, the young lad returned with some water. She offered him a nervous smile, but avoided his eyes for the most part. Returning to the conversation, she failed to noticed the arrival of some newcomers, but she did not miss the silence that suddenly enveloped the Inn. Everyone appeared to be listening to the exchange. A few nervous twitters echoed, but they quickly disappeared. Evelyn tensed. The hair on the back of her neck was standing on end, something bad was going to happen. Turning slowly, her eyes found the Innkeeper and then the individual who thrust his sword forwards, into his chest. A gasp escaped Evelyn's lips before she could help it. No, this had to be some joke right?
"You scream, you die..."
Without thinking, Evelyn jumped to her feet, grabbing Narren away from the group of men. For some reason, she felt she needed to protect him. Well, she was his elder. Even though this was clearly a practical joke of some kind, she stood shielding him from view, her eyes remaining on the men. She had no way to protect herself, but she'd singled herself out by standing up. However, no harm would come to her would it? This wasn't real after all...

"You scream, you die..."
Barron watched as Evelyn launched forward and snatched Narren away from the group of men surrounding his father. Reluctantly popping up from his seat Barron drew his pistols pointing both of them at the men. "If we can all calm down, we can handle this diplomatically. If not well I can not assure you of good health, lets start by releasing that man" Barron kept his gentle tone but hardening the bass in his voice. He slowly rolled his shoulders, without gunning for a few days would throw off his aim. Concentrating on the mans arm aiming to fire it there while awaiting their response to his deal.
In the past, Barron had dealt with much stranger stick-ups. But his charm and calm demeanor would always end them before life's were taken he hoped the same for this situation. Killing people he didn't know anything about wasn't his style, rules are ment to be broken since a woman is involved shooting to kill works to.

Gibari saw Evelyn jump up to get Narren into relative safety, followed by Barron to come into action. "If we can all calm down, we can handle this diplomatically. If not well I can not assure you of good health, lets start by releasing that man" He said to the ciminals holding two guns. This was stupid on so many levels that he didn't know what to say. Instead he stood up from his chair and activated a mechanism hidden in his right sleeve that shot a sword out of the sleeve and right into Gibari's hand. With his left arm he aimed at the stranger that didn't have a barrel pointed at him. Under the light of the inn the metal mechanism hidden in the left sleeve shone as the flames light rolled over it, making it clear that the stranger also was under shot. "The man is dead, if you haven't realised it yet. There is nothing more to negotiate." He said to barron. He turned his eyes to the stranger in the crowd and said: "Do you even realise the situation you now are in? I am Gibari Arcolione, the mechenical dragon. If you wish to have a chance to leave this inn alive, then trow down your arms and surrender." He hoped the strangers knew him, otherwise they might actually have to shoot.
"...an inn that gets a Master Swordsman eery other day". Narren added, taking one of the swords used for decoration on the wall, slashing one person, and swiping at another, but the second one dodged the blow. Narren had learned quite a bit of swordsmanship from various travelers and such, many of which are master swordsmen. Meaning Narren was just as deadly as an assassin, possibly deadlier.
Another stranger approached them, but he was shot by the man who had ordered the ale. He then aimed his gun at the leader. Now the tides have turned. Sort of.
Its a stand off really.
Narren also seemed to be much more capable than he looked as well, lashing back at his attackers with a sword that decorated the walls of the inn. Lunging as he slashed one assassin and swiping the blade at another but missing as the man dodged. As the man raised his sword in an attack Barron let off three quick shots spinning to position himself behind Girbari. While another man was gunned down by a patron who ordered ale, who then quickly pointed the gun at their leader.
"Well it seems the odds are on our side" Barron noted pointing his gun at the leader and keeping his other one raised just in case.

Gibari of course couldn't draw weapons and do nothing in the end. He jumped back straight into the sword, that easily shredded through the outer cloth layer, only to recoil as it made contact with the steel plate underneath. Gibari quickly turned around grabbing the mans head with his left hand, as the man was defenceless from his action. Followed by the sound of gear unlocking and a bullet shooting through a barrel. With Gibari's hold still firmly on the mans head a small red dot appears, marking the entry wound of the bullet. "It's an arcenicum lead composite bullet laced with a special poison, by the time I say this your heart, lungs and muscles have already stopped." He said to the now dead man wanting to have the other assassins know what they are dealing with.
Then a shot sounded with another tone than the ones he heard so far. He turned to see the man who ordered the ale pointing a gun at the leader of the assassin group. "Well it seems the odds are on our side" Barron said. Gibari smiled in return and said "Perhaps, but we'll see about that when this is over." as he trew the dead assassin down. He aimed with his left arm for the leader holding his sword ready to strike.
Nothing made sense. How had she come to be here? How had this happened? It was undeniable that this wasn't Earth now. Things like this just didn't happen on Earth. Looking up, her eyes locked onto the stand-off. Perhaps these assassins knew the answer, as she doubted any of those present did. But she couldn't simply throw herself into the fight, could she? Besides, they were prepared to kill the lot of them. In fact, she felt an anger bubbling inside of her \t the whole ideal. Why had she been dragged into this mess? The only people she could direct her fury at were the men who had come to kill. Stepping forwards, unsteady on her feet due to the new realisation she placed herself between the assassins and her new-found acquaintances. Her eyes narrowed in a dangerous manner.
"I suggest you leave," She hissed furiously, clenching her hands into fists at her sides. The knuckles shone white. "You're not welcome here and as you can see, we can defend ourselves well enough. So leave."
((Sorry it's short!))

Jonathan had been trying to read the book he had with him when the travelers stepped in. The flurry of words in front of him turned into a incoherent mess when he heard the way the spoke and saw the way they dressed. It made no sense whatsoever. The thumping in his head was getting worse too.
Why does it only every happen to me..?
As if the world were trying to prove him wrong, the "Manager", as he knew how much work that Narren put into this place, was killed.
"You scream, you die..."
They sprung into action: drawing weapons, fighting. Suppressing his growing fear, Jonathan stood up. His motion probably went unnoticed as he was in the farthest, and darkest, corner, away from every other customer. Although, they already avoided him for most of the time as the majority of them knew that Jonathan was branded with the mark of a very dangerous gang. Usually, people don't last long with a brand like that and the gang wont care if there are innocents nearby. His watchful green eyes scanned the rag-tag group. Two people, who were obviously new to the world, Narren and a Draconi.
[i]If we make it out of this then I'll offer my assistance. They're gonna need someone who looks like them slightly. Although he couldn't help much in the fighting aspect of this, he could try and settle this with some diplomacy. As he though of what to say quickly, his hand snaked up his arm to the brand.
It had been thirteen years since he received the mark but could still remember it as if it had just happened: his mother's screams as she was dragged from the room; His father's staring eyes, void of all life.
Shaking his head, he stepped forwards to the girl. He towered over most of the people in the building, being 6'4", which caused a slight smile to touch his lips. He pushed that thought back into his mind and set his jaw into a determined line.
"I suggest you leave, you're not welcome here and as you can see, we can defend ourselves well enough. So leave."
They might not know him but he knew that he would be able to help them, especially Narren after his father was killed. Besides, it seemed they needed all the help they could get right now. Jonathan finally spoke with his husky voice, his annoying southern accent coming through.
"Alright, if you really are assassins, then someone must have hired you. Explain yourself." His entire body shook as if only he were getting affected by an earthquake but he stood his group. At least he could get the girl out of the way if they decided to attack, he wouldn't let another
"Please tell me someone else thought about shooting him too"
That's when Narren howled. And, as if he suddenly evaporated, he disapeared, and a Wolf took his place, tearing into the throughts of the two swords wielders. Well, wielder, one man holding two swords. But still. The gunman shot two more as well.
