Introduction
For years the Digital World has been blessed with a lasting peace, unhindered by needless violence and war it has prospered, but in its peace the inhabitants have become lax. The Black Ilses were once a housing for digital code, but have long since been outdated and forgotten, causing the information stored there to become corrupted. The old files began corrupting the landscape along the islands and the digimon in constant contact with the damaged code were soon to follow. Digimon afflicted by the Black Isles have been reported feral, all baring red eyes and grayish toned skin, and while they retain a small amount of thier true selves, the rest just primitive brutality.
Just west of the cursed Black Isles is the oblivious File Island, a peaceful cogregation of Digimon who were blissfully unaware of the growing danger until they were assaulted by the infected. The first response to the new threat was instinctivly to fight them directly, but this resulted in allies turning on old friends, due to absorbing the corruption for the attackers. After thourough study of the Digimon's symptoms they learned of the ancient files and their damaged data, causing File Island to search elsewhere for a solution. Digging through old firewalls and security programs, they stumbled upon the "Warrior Project," an aggressive security file that was designed to protect the Digital World by granting the users immunity from the effects from harmful data just like the Black Isles corruption, the only problem was the program needed manual operators. DigiDestined would again be chosen to conquer the monumental task of saving the digital world.
DigiDestined
You were chosen for your uncanny affinty towards one of the roles in the "Warrior Project." Just as any other day, you scurried about at school or work completely oblivious to the event you were about to be dragged into. When you arrived home you went straight to the computer, video games, cell phone, ect as you usually do, but once you had accessed the internet you were gone. In a flash of light and static you were sucked out of your room and next thing you know, your falling through a seemingly endless tunnel of light and color. You wake to find others like you surrounded by strange creatures, all curiously staring while they wait for you to gather yourself.

When a corrupted file occurs, the first line of defense is to make use of system tools to attempt to fix the problem. If the corruption occurred due to a temporary glitch in the operating system, this will often fix the problem and the file will be accessible once again. Also, it may be possible to run a virus detection program and isolate the origin of the issue and correct it. Once the corrections are made, the software performs as it should, and the corrupted file will open and close as usual.
When the corrupted file cannot be repaired, it may be necessary to use some method of data recovery."

The door to Marco's dorm room swung open and slammed shut behind him. He tossed his book bag on the bed and sat cross-legged on the floor under his small window. He tightened the hood over his head and shivered a bit. It was hot outside, but the RA Mod kept the temperature to what he called "below freezing conditions".
Before him sat a large flat screen monitor with all it's cords exposed. Next to the screen which leaned against the wall was the white system unit and to that the key board with a mouse touch pad. The lamp in his room was off, the only source of light was the light from the computer screen which sprang to life once he booted the computer.
This computer was of his own making. He'd been trying to build his own computer for a few months now. He'd finally completed it last night and was extremely excited to see it in action. Marco had nearly 30 minutes until his 3rd block classes began, so he chose this opportunity to see how well it worked. he logged on and opened up Net explorer to surf the web, when something odd happened. He raised a brow.
The screen became distorted like broken glass in a window. Images of creatures he'd never seen before appeared and were replaced by the web page he was originally only. The whole screen shifted back to normal and he sighed. "What...was that?" Suddenly the screen turned dark and flashed a rave of multicolored lights, then a multitude of luminous clawed hands burst from the screen, snatching and pulling at Marco's clothes.
Terror ripped through his core. Frozen from shock, his lips parted to scream, but no sound came out. The hands pulled him into the screen which turned into a glimmering whirlpool to oblivion. Next thing he knew he was falling through space. A condensed tunnel of liquid lights. He finally closes his eyes and lets out a horror filled scream only to reopen them to find that he was no longer in space.
He was sitting on a metal platform of some weird unfamiliar technology. He looked up to find a group of mysterious animals staring down at him. A little green creature which resembled some kind of sea creature crawled up to him smiling. "Are you the Warrior of water?"
"Am I the warrior of....what?" Marco repeated shocked that it could talk.
"Oh wait, the Digivice in your hand..." The little creature came to a realization. Marco looked down in his hand and discovered an elaborate device in his palm that he'd never seen before.
"How did this get in my hand....?"
"Renamon! I think this one belongs to you." Betamon called. The platform Marco was on began to glow. "The others are coming! Everyone, they're coming!"

Kirie had just gotten home from her performance, and walked over to her closet. She pulled out a blue tee shirt and faded blue jeans and lay them on her bed. She walked into her bathroom and pulled her hair out of the tightly twisted bun that it was in and let the long golden hair fall, resting down her back.
She slipped out of her costume and stepped into the shower, letting the hot water rinse the glitter out of her hair and the dark stage make up off of her face. Kirie hated stage make up, well, she hated make up in general, but stage make up was worse, it was so dark and hard to wash off.
When she felt that she had it all off, she stepped out and wrapped her clean body in a towel. She put on her clothing and brushed her hair up into a ponytail before rushing over to her bedside table to grab her clock. She pulled a screwdriver out of a drawer and jammed it in the clock, prying it open. She smiled and stuck the screwdriver in her hair, preferring to do the rest by hand.
She stuck her hand in and felt a shock. Images danced before her eyes and then she was lost in blackness. She screamed as dozens of strange looking hands shattered the darkness and pulled her into no where. There was a bright light and suddenly, she was sitting on a platform, breathing hard.
Nothing had changed, a clock in her hand and the screwdriver in her hair, but when she looked down, the clock had changed, it looked weird.
Kirie's eyes looked up and she saw a large... worm. Her eyes narrowed and she looked at it, all former shock seeming to disappear. "What are you?" She asked, tilted her head to the side.

Rachel smiled as she adjusted her backpack and waved to her co-workers. "Bye! See you tomorrow!"
She turned and walked out of the game store and out of the mall and into the sunny warmth of the day. It was still early enough that a good part of the day was still in front of her, and even better yet, she had the day off tomorrow. There was only one problem- what to do? She absentmindedly fished her keys from her jeans pocket as she made her way to her little red beater, then pulled her smartphone from another.
She got as far as turning it on to unlock it before the screen lit up so bright she could hardly look at it and it emitted a screech so loud it hurt her ears. "What the-"
She fumbled with the device to turn down the volume, but nothing she did helped. Before she could turn it over to pry the battery out and end whatever was going on with her phone, the world grew dark. There was the feeling of being drawn inexorably forward, then of suddenly stopping. She stumbled and looked around her wildly, then wished she hadn't. For some reason she was now on a metal platform, standing next to a boy and a girl she didn't recognize, and surrounded by... things.
"What's going on?" she demanded. "Where am I?"

Ren strode down the street, kicking at a leave here and there as she walked. It had been another tough day for her at school, just like normal. This had been going on for a while now, though her parents didn't know it. She hadn't told them. And why would she? It wasn't like she wanted her parents to butt in and take the initiative in her business. No, she didn't want that.
As she came to the corner, Ren sighed, glancing at the school bus as it drove past her, carrying the cruel laughter of the children right on past her. Coming to sit down on the bench that was there at the street corner, she threw her back down onto the ground, slipping her small phone out of her pocket to open it, seeing that her parents wouldn't be home for a few more hours. And she didn't really want to go home yet either. As she sat there, she pulled up the internet, aiming to just surf for a while and find a bit of peace for herself, to just go and forget everything.
The moment that the screen appeared on the internet, there was a flash, and a shock went through Ren's fingers as she sat there, and the screen began to flash her things, pictures of animals, though they were more like creatures. Shocked and frightened, she wanted to drop the phone, yet somehow couldn't, and before she knew what was going on, claws and hands reached out of the screen, grabbing her and forcibly pulling her into the screen itself. Ren let out a scream, terrified of what was going on, but as she fell through empty space, she had no help, could not get it as she continued to fall.
Suddenly, Ren found that she had appeared on a small metal platform, and as she stood up slowly, she found that she was three others, as well as surrounded by a group of strange creatures. A small sea like being slowly came up to her, shuffling slowly as it came at her. "Are you the Warrior of Water?" It asked softly, a curious look it it's eyes as it did. Ren jumped slightly, realizing that it was talking to her. "What?" Was all she could say.
A tall creature slowly moved over to where Marco was, kneeling down to gaze at him with wise eyes as it did. It almost looked like some sort of fox being in a way, yet it was also like that of a human, it's yellow fur rippling with each movement that it made. "Are you the Warrior of Light?" Renamon said quietly, her voice gentle as she looked at Marco, wondering what his reaction would be to seeing her, to have her so close to him in such a way. She could see that he was frightened, the look in his eyes told all. But she hoped that he would not freak out, that he would remain calm and not try and attack her in any way.

Warrior of Light, Marco Buhari
Marco Stared at the fox like creature. He tried to speak several times, but his jaw would just keep dropping. What he was staring at...was it real? It asked him a question. But, he didn't know what a warrior of Light was. The device in his hand began to vibrate and glow. He looked up at the fox-like creature. Was the device reacting to it? "Uh...I don't know." He adjusted his clothes regaining his composure. "What exactly are Any of you anyway...?" They didn't seem dangerous. They actually seemed really friendly.

Kirie jumped a bit when the worm thing rushed at her and hugged her. She let it hug her, but she had an extremely confused look on her face. Her blue eyes slowly went down to the thing around her waist and she patted it's back softly. "Uh there there?" She muttered then his words set in and she stood up and put her hands on her hips.
"Wait a second." Kirie said in a tone that was extremely cold, "Why am I here, and why do I need a partner?" She asked defiantly, and then she pointed to Wormon, "and why is that partner you? Mr. Emotional Worm?"

"Because the DigiWorld is in trouble." Genkai left the control panel where she was diligently working and turned to face the new arrivals. The short girl wiped sweat from her forehead and decided that even though the others hadn't arrived she start informing them about their mission. "I'm sorry for snatching you away from your lives, but the lives of everyone that resides here are in danger." She looked around only counting three. "...You guys are just kids. The fate of the digital world rest in the hands of little children....This just can't be good." She rubbed her face with her hand.
"DigiWorld?" Marco piped up. "My name is Marco...Marco Buhari. What is the Digiworld? This isn't...Earth?" He asked the question even though the answer was obvious to him.
"It's short for Digital World." Betamon answered. "It's a separate world than..Earth...but it's more of a parallel universe filled with Digimon, like us."
Genkai looked at the girl with blonde hair. "You see the digital world was originally created from computer data files in your world's communications networks. The files that created the Black Isles- the area we are in now- have become....outdated...and have began to turn corrupted. The Black Isles landscapes have become distorted and some of the Digimon in those areas have become feral as a result. The Developer was afraid something like this would happen so he dug up an security program-The Warriors project- to combat the change. We believe that the change is viral in origin, so your ten-G Digivices should act as an antivirus and repair all the damage files."

Not receiving an immediate answer, Rachel backed away from the other two on the platform and the... well, apparently they called themselves Digimon, so she probably should too. Unfortunately, that put her closer to a Digimon that was essentially a head with a tail attached, and a pink flower-ish one. They both smiled cheerfully. "Welcome, Warrior!"
Rachel gaped at them. "What?"
A female voice saying, '"Because the DigiWorld is in trouble,"' caught her attention, and she turned to see what the newcomer, who seemed to at least know what was going on, had to say. She listened in growing confusion as the girl spouted an increasingly improbable explanation. Once it was obvious the girl was done speaking, she crossed her arms across her chest, oblivious of the phone-turned-digivice in her right hand. "So you've kidnapped us, and now you want us to to help you? Fat chance!"

Wormmon stopped hugging her and crying and then spoke, "I'm sorry it's just I think I have been waiting for you all my life and I know in your heart, you always felt there was something greater purpose for your life. Well that something is to save the digital world you are the Warrior of Wind and I am your partner. I may be just a worm now, but with your help I can become stronger then you can possibly imagine. Also, you will grow stronger with me, as I grow you will grow as a person. That is what it means to be partners. Not only is the digital world in trouble, but if this problem is not handled in a timely manner, your world is next.... Oh and name isn't Mr. Emotional Worm it is Wormmon and what is your name?"
Liollmon
Liollmon went up to Rachel and noticed her digivice, "Well looks like you are the Warrior of Earth sorry I'm late I was taking a cat nap... If you aren't here to help the Digital World then I guess you can go back. But you are going to miss a lot of fun and a lot of action. I'm Liollmon aren't I awesome? I was going to be your partner but If your not interested I'm sure we can send you back. However, I would suggest sticking around, unless you have something better and more exciting to do on earth?" said Liollmon with a smug voice and grin on his face.

She looked at the blue haired girl who was telling them what all this was about, "why us?" She snapped, "why not someone else?" She glared at the girl and then looked back at Wormon.
"You're annoying." Kirie muttered, blunty, "no, I haven't felt a 'higher purpose', I apologize, all I do is use screwdrivers to take things apart, and perform in shows because I'm flexible, nothing else, I'm just an elastic techy geek."
She looked at the clock device, "can someone just take me home?"

Rachel narrowed her eyes and took another step back away from the lion-like Digimon who called himself Liollmon, almost falling off the stage as she did so. She flailed for a second, trying to catch her balance before finding her footing again. She opened her mouth to say something scathing, then closed it again and took a deep breath. Whatever was actually going on, it wouldn't be helped by panicking. Her notebook and the supply of pens she always kept in her backpack passed through her mind as well- if she was simply dreaming or hallucinating, this experience would make for a great plot for one of her stories.
"I've got a life there, and family and friends, and... oh man, my boyfriend is going to flip when I don't show to pick him up." There was no venom in her voice this time.

He frowned at Kirie, "I can see that you are a very bright child, but you hide it from yourself and others in your sarcastic arrogance. You don't give yourself enough credit be more confident. I don't become a butterfly it's more like a giant humanoid dragonfly, it's actually really cool. The thing is you can't go home... Not until the corrupted data is fixed... We had enough power to bring you here, but not enough to send you back... I'm sorry", explained Wormmon.
Liollmon
The young lion cub digimon sighed and looked up a Rachel, "If you don't help the digital world it won't be long before your world is turned to chaos, anything ran by computers will be in shatters, blackouts, phone lines, just about everything. You may miss your family but they won't miss you time works different in the digital world a year passes by here in about an hour in your world. So you'd be back before they even knew you were gone. Please help us!", begged Liollmon bowing down at Rachel's feet.

"So...." She looked around before her eyes fell back on the worm dude. "How do I get you to turn into a humanoid dragonfly?"
She giggled to herself, the image in her head of a human dragonfly looked kind of funny, but she didn't tell that to the digimon. "Do I have to do some sort of ritual? Do a chant? Sing a song? Find a key? Can I have a hint?" She smiled at him, all previous rudeness gone, showing that Kirie had already gotten used to the little guy, it was strange how quickly it happened, though.

Wormmon smiled at her new refreshing attitude. He pointed to her digivice and said "Well with that digivice you have there, and the power of your emotions, when you are in trouble, if we get under attack, which happens a lot in the digital world; your digivice will glow and I will become the giant humanoid dragonfly, or Stingmon for short. Also don't be sorry, I imagine this is a lot for you to take in... You just acted rationally."

"I know this is difficult for you all to accept, but I didn't choose you in particular. I think the Digiworld chose you." She rested her hands on her hips and looked away. "You're our only hope. The Black isles is a dangerous place, but if you trust in your partners, you'll gain the power to overcome it. There are one more warrior that have yet to arrive. They're on their way."
Warrior of Light, Marco Buhari
He felt something inside of him. It was growing and spreading to every inch of his being. His body shook and his fingers trembled. It was excitement. It was consuming him. He tried not to let it show, but in truth he hadn't been this pumped in a long time. He coughed. "Well, you can count me in. Sounds like it could be fun." He looked at Renamon. "Can't wait to see what you can do." He looked down at the ten Gen Digivice. It kind of reminded him of a handheld gameboy. "It's a DX. He chuckled to himself. Like a DS. Get it?" he didn't expect Renamon to, but maybe the others would.

"Oh no!" Genkai cried frantically pressing buttons on the panel in front of her.
"What's wrong Genkai?" Betamon asked.
"The last Warrior's data...disappeared..." She continued typing wildly.
"What do you mean disappeared?" Marco asked rushing over to help her then stopping. The technology she was using was somewhat alien to him.
"His signal..it just...It just vanished!"
"Wait!" It suddenly hit Marco. Something similar happened to him when he was trying to download a file from the net onto his comb. It was at fifty percent and suddenly it vanished. He didn't know what happened, but he later found the file on a separate partition in the computer's back up. Maybe what was going on was similar. "Are there anymore laboratories on the Islands? With computers like this?"
"No! This is the only-" Genkai cut herself off. "Actually...the developer talked about one other one before, but that was long time ago. It was abandoned. It's back know. The signals back in the Digiworld, but it's obscured for some reason."
"You said the Black Isles data was afflicted. Maybe there's some kind of bug transfering it to the other lab?"
"No, that impossible! For that to work there needs to be another transfer platform and someone else operating it. The download is complete!" Her head snapped around towards the platform. Nothing new had appeared. "This doesn't make sense...."

She crouched down and ruffled the cub's mane with a smile. "I guess this does make us partners then."
She watched in that position as Genkai cried out and Marco went to her assistance- the only thing she could figure out from their techno-babble was that something had gone wrong with the arrival of another Warrior. She looked to Kirie, who was the closest to her. "Do you have any idea what they're talking about?"

"Can I pick you up?" She asked, and before he could answer, she gently picked him up and cradled him in her arms as she stood up and began pacing. Genkai and Marco's freaking out was giving her a headache, and her hands were shaking a bit because of her ADD, she needed to tinker with something, and she couldn't pull apart her digivice.
"Do you have any idea what they're talking about?"
Kirie stopped pacing and looked over. She had heard the girl introduce herself as Rachel to her digimon. She walked over to Rachel and sat down facing her, setting Wormon on her lap.
"No idea, I like technology, but I'm no TechWizard."

Turuiemon sat alone near a small stream not far from the others. He was deep in thought as he watched the river push anything that fell into it. "Like the river I am strong yet graceful." He said slowly inhaling deeply. With several more deep breaths He knew he was ready to embrace the words of Neptunemon and avenge his friend Whamon. Standing Turuiemon decided it was time to meet the one Neptunemon had spoke about. Walking to join the others he noticed several weird strange things were speaking with the Digimon. Assuming they were the humans he had been told about he paid them no attention. Walking up to Genkai oblivious to her panicking her tapped her on the shoulder gently. "I would like to inquire about the whereabouts of my human." He asked calmly his voice firm yet gentle. Taking a step back Turuiemon sat on the ground and awaited a response.

Liollmon purred as Rachel petted his mane and then said, "Hey don't ah... Never mind... Um yeah we are partners!" The young cub began to notice Turuiemon and shouted, "Hey Turuiemon! Cheer up! I'm sure your partner will be here soon!" Liollmon turned back to Rachel, "That's Turuiemon he's always kinda down in the dumps, he takes the Digimon of Darkness tittle to a whole new level.", he said with a chuckle.
Wormmon
Wormmon was taken back by Kirie's sudden kindness he blushed as she picked him up. Not only did Wormmon think she was a good partner already, but he felt she had the potential to be a true friend. Wormmon studied what was happening with the human male and Genkai at the terminal. Why hadn't Turiemon's partner arrived? What was going on?

Rachel gave Kirie a half-smile. "You're one up on me, then. The innards of a computer are a foreign country to me."
She watched as a rabbit-like Digimon entered into the clearing and walk to Genkai to ask about his partner. Just how many different Digimon were there, anyway? That thought was pushed aside though, as it became obvious that what Genkai and Marco were talking about. The rabbit-digimon was here, but his partner was nowhere to be found.
Her train of thought was broken by Liollmon's introduction. She frowned, then spoke. "What happens when a digimon is supposed to have a partner but doesn't?"
