Swordsmanship
Tracking
Strategist

Single Katana Blade

Style
Single Handed Swordsmanship for moving in swift fast paced strikes. Switches to Two Handed Swordsmanship for stronger blows and strikes.

Personality
Sikes tends to start out being a hard guy to earn his trust. Keeping it safe, he prefers to know what he's up against before he takes the next step. Thankfully, that makes him very careful around people and places. None the less, despite his "rough shell", he has a kind heart, never able to turn his back and look away at someone in need of help. It just takes a hard time for others to see that side of him cause of his lack of trust with people sometimes. But when one earns his trust, he becomes someone that you can be sure will watch your back in the time you need him most. He can be a tad bit technical about things at times, sometimes even missing jokes and other things due to that. While he always tries to keep a level head in even the most dangerous of situations, it can still be fairly easy to make him lose his temper. Especially if it involves someone that abuse their power for their own gain or simple bully others. Situations like that are one of the rare moments he would walk into a situation without thinking, just fixed on putting that person in their place.

Bio
The first years of Sikes' life were with his father. His mother having passed away when he was still young, his dad was the only family he had. Helping his father around the Blacksmith that he worked at outside of the city limits. Not being within the city walls, they would hunt their own food, grow crops, and gather their own minerals for the shop. He learned all that he know about tracking animals and how to use a sword from his father even as orders came along from the nearby city. It was when he was around 13 years old that this life would change. He was out in the middle of the day, fetching some more water from a stream back to their place. Unknown to him, his father was receiving some uninvited guests while Sikes was out. A pack of Orcs were savaging around, looking for goods and weapons, and have come across their blacksmith outside of the city walls. Raiding the place, his father fought back but was outnumbered. Managing to hold them off at least, the Orcs only got a few things before they were forced back. But as Sikes returned, he came to find his father still gravely injured from the attack. In an attempt to help him, he hurried to the city to try to find help. But no one would step outside of the city walls to help treat his father, worried for their own lives if those Orcs were still out there. He rushed back, hoping to at least be able to do something himself, but by that time, it was to late to do anything for his father.

Using what he learned from his father, he spent the rest of his years hunting and fending for himself. He wouldn't ask for help from the people that turned him down when his father needed him, getting whatever he would need from the area around his home. He continued to teach himself in using a blade and once he was ready, he began traveling from his old home. Doing hunting offers and other jobs from towns he passes by, he made a living with his sword work. His recent job has him traveling through ancient ruins that was said to have been home to a race of Dragons long ago. Little did he know that this simple shortcut through ruins would bring him into something big that was going on.

Personality
To anyone's first glance, Shade is a self centered Dragon that prefers things to just go his way right off the bat. Being the next in line for the leader of the Dark Dragon Tribe, he always had things given to him at first call. Because of this, he's had this slightly bossy attitude with others. People around him saw him as the next in line and that was it, so he never really had any true friends, just those that served him. But despite this annoying bit about him, he has a strong sense of what is right and wrong, always staying firm with his beliefs no mater what. If one were to help him better understand of the life outside the one he's had for many years, while it might be a rough road, he might manage to learn to just be slightly less bossy. Although, he will never abandon anyone in a time of need and stands firm in his self given task of stopping this war.

Bio
Ever since he was little, Shade would always hear the stories and history of his Tribe. Just like the others, he always dreamed of one day to be able to fly through the sky of Elendia and enjoy the world outside of their Dark Realm that they now lived in. But, even with this dream, he would manage to not stray from the right and wrong paths to such a goal. So, when tension started to grow between the Dragon Tribes, his own Tribe with that of the Light Dragon Tribe's, he tried his best to calm his father's anger. But topics kept resurfacing among meetings, accusing the Light Tribe for their now "prison" in the Dark Realm and away from their birth home. It got to a point that it was now official that they were on the path of war, a war that would defiantly destroy the very land they all wanted to live on again. No longer able to do anything with his father's actions, he decided that he only had one chance in stopping this. Go through the passage and try to find a way to keep them from breaking out before the Dragon Tribes all go into war.

The effects of going through the passage drained him of his power, returning him to a younger and smaller form in the ruins of his Tribe's old home. In this state, he only had his Breath ability, no longer able to use his others any longer. So, within the ruins of his Tribe's old home, he begins to search for a means to try and restore his power once again. Without them, he wouldn't stand a chance in trying to stop the Dragon Tribes from going to war. But deep down, despite his personality of being a bit a little full of himself, he still worries and fears the chance that there isn't anything that can be done.

So begins...

Within the empty streets of what seemed like a an ancient city, the distant sound of someone approaching can be heard growing louder. With the only light being from that of torches on the side of the street, a large black figure suddenly darts passed, almost blowing out the torches along the way. Behind it, voices can be heard calling out into the darkness.

"He went this way! Don't let him reach the Gateway!" Giving chase to the figure that passed by 4 black Dragons, each wearing armored coating, close in one the black figure. Closing in on a large stone gateway that shinned a a dim light, the run away black dragon finally reaches it panting heavily.

"There he is! Get him!" The young black dragon turns around, realizing that he didn't have any time to rest. Darting at the lite up gateway, he lunges between it's stone frame and suddenly vanishes from sight. The armored Dragons arrived to late as the glowing of the gateway dims down until it finally fell dark. One Armored Dragon says to the other, "Inform his Majesty at once. The Prince has escaped through the gateway."
-------------
Finally making his way through the borders of the forest, Sikes, a traveling warrior, has finally arrived in the famous Dragon Ruins. Walking up to the worn out structures as he walks through the old roads, he makes his way through the ancient ruins said to be the home of of the Dragons from long ago.

"Never stops amazing me." He mutters to himself as he admires the work around him. It was said that the Dragons vanished long ago, no one having seen one for centuries or even found a clue as to where they are now. The only thing that remains are legends and rumors of where they have gone to. Sikes had traveled through these ruins a few times now, finding it to be a perfect short cut to go between towns.

The trail through the ruins brought him up to the center of the once proud home of the Dragons as two large structures stand in the center side by side. They were two stone gateways, each one with a different symbol on each. Having looked at a few of the markings as he passed by, he learned that one held the mark of the Dark Dragon Tribe, and the one next to it had the mark of the Light Dragon Tribe. These gateway-like passages have been found in other places across Elendia, many believing them to be a sort of passage to where the Dragons are. But no one has ever been able to prove such information since they have long since been just old stone gateways and nothing more. Walking up to these two gateways, Sikes gives off a huff, "I wonder if they did use these or not. Either way they sure don't seem to work if they even once did." Turning his back to them, he begins to continue on his way, not noticing the dim lighting that slowly started to increase on the gateway with the Dark Dragon Mark.

In a sudden burst, a small black dragon was rocketed out through a brief opening in the gateway, slamming into Sikes' back as he knocks him face first into the ground. Groaning in pain, the young dragon, Shade, lifts his front leg, rubbing the back of his head. "What did I just slam into?" He mutters, still a bit dizzy from the impact. Sikes also groans in pain as he pushes himself off the ground, making the black dragon roll off of him a bit before he begins to flap his wings and stay airborne behind Sikes.

"Hey, careful Human!" Sikes' eyes widen in surprise at hearing the voice, slowly looking back to come face to face with the young black dragon. In shock, he falls back onto the ground again, sitting on the floor as he just points with his mouth gaping open.

"You...your a....a..." Sikes mutters out, unable to bring out the words as the Black Dragon realizes what was going on and gives a smirk, lowering down to sit on the ground in front of Sikes, "A Dragon? Yes, yes I am. The name is Shade.", the Dragon replies, enjoying a bit the expression in Sikes' face.

<Dragon Ruins>

An awkward moment of silence formed between the traveler and the small black dragon. Both of them just looking at each other until the black dragon called Shade finally spoke up again. "Yes yes, I understand how impressed with awe you might be with this, but I can assure you I wont bring any-" Right at that moment, Sikes spoke out in a burst, as if he finally forced the words out of his mouth. "Your tiny!" The confident expression that was on Shade slowly tensed up as he gritted his teeth. "Yes...I'm..small...Now as I was saying..I'm not here to bring any har-" As Shade talked on, with his eyes shit tight, Sikes leaned in closer, suddenly poking Shade at the base of his neck. "Strange, I always thought the dragons were..well..bigger." Unable to hold in his irritation, Shade snaps his jaw down on Sikes' finger, forcing him to fall back as he sucked on the bitten finger in pain. "I'm trying to talk here, Human! Can't you realize your in front of someone important?!" Shade yells back annoyed as gives off a slight growl while crouching forward with his wings stretched apart. "Fine fine, I'll let you talk. I'm just a bit surprised." Sikes replies as he then adjusts himself on the ground, sitting with his leg's crossed as he faces the black dragon.

Adjusting himself as well, Shade sits up straight and clears his throat. "Now then. First of all, yes, I'm a dragon. The reason I'm small is because the gateway I went through drained me of my powers. Normally I would tower over such a low class race as yourself. As for why I'm here, it's to stop a war from happening that will threaten to destroy all of Elendia." Sikes looks at the dragon, a bit confused as he never heard of any races or cities having bad blood with one another to that extent along his travels. "War? But with who? There hasn't been any tension of that amount between races these days." The dragon gives a slight huff, followed by a smirk, "Well at least your observant, that's a strong point. But it's not from the races here as of now. It's the Dragon Tribes. A corruption has been spreading among them all and now the tribes are on risk of going all out against one another. I'm sure you can imagine what effects might bring if all the 6 Dragon Tribes suddenly go into war with one another, right?" Sikes' eyes widen, remembering the tales and stories of how powerful Dragons were from long ago. "It would be chaos...everything and everyone would surely get dragged into it, ultimately destroy Elendia itself." "Exactly."

Sikes ponders into his thoughts a bit, holding his arm up to his chin as he closes his eyes in thought. Shade tilts his head down, looking at him as he wondered what he was pretty much thinking of. Almost a minute later, he opens his eyes and begins to stand up. "Well then, how exactly do we stop it?" Shade looks at him in a mixture of confusion and and surprise. "We? When did I say you would be helping out?" This time, Sikes gives a huffing smirk at the small dragon as he crosses his arms. "I think it's rather obvious don't you think? You really expect me to just casually carry on with my life, knowing that a war between dragons is about to happen? Besides, judging by your size and situation, I'd say that no mater how powerful of a dragon you WERE, you'll need help with someone that actually knows how to get around. Am I right?" Shade watches him, impressed a bit that he made all those choices during that time of thinking that he was in, giving him a slow nod in reply. "Well well, your not as dumb as I took humans to be. Quick to making choices you see right. I like that. I think a pact with you will do just about right for me."

Sikes recalled the word "pact" before, but couldn't really catch on in his head what it was. "A pact? What do you mean?" "You'll see." Shade replied as he then closed his eyes as a dark glow forms over him. A similar dark aura forms over Sikes as he looks at himself in a slight surprise. The aura then gathers onto his upper left arm, concentrating there as it then suddenly sinks into his skin, giving a brief moment of pain before it fades away. What remained was a strange marking on his arm. "We have no formed a pact. Long ago, Dragons would form pacts with humans. They would both share each other's strength and life, helping each other grow stronger. Be honored in having one with me of all dragons." Shade gives a smirk as Sikes looks at him while rubbing where the mark was to ease the pain that still lingered. "Honor? Your pretty full of yourself." Ignoring his statement, Shade begins to walk down a path deeper into the ruins. "Come now. If we are to find anyway to stop this war or restore some of my power that I lost, I'm sure this place should have the answers." The small dragon leading along as Sikes follows him with a slight sign of annoyance.

"Did I just get stuck with a cocky dragon?"

<Dragon Ruins>

If there was one good thing about being small, it was the fact that you weren't easily noticed. Cerena could catch smaller prey near the ruins and no one would noticed. Still, living in the ruins was starting get tiresome. The light dragon would have left the moment she arrived a week earlier if she hadn't felt this need to stay. Even though most of her powers were gone, it was nice to know she still had her 6th sense. Something was going to happen soon, she could sense it. Well, she already knew that war was coming, but that wasn't what her gut instincts were telling her. Thinking back to the day Cerena came to the human world was not a memory she would ever forget. Most of her kind had become so corrupted that tensions between her clan and the Dark dragon clan were at a boiling point. Even her own sire was now corrupted. Cerena felt responsible for helping keep the peace, but now she had to find another way to go about it. Her mother had ordered her to come to the human world to find another way. However, Cerena didn't expect to lose her powers when that happened. Leaving her mother was the hardest thing to do. Even now she hoped her mother was okay.

After eating something, Cerena was returning to the Ruins when she felt something. Curious, she raced to the ruins in time to see a dark dragon come through one of the portals and than observed his interaction with a male human. During the conversation, she had the feeling she was suppose to find a human partner also. Was that what she was waiting for. Looking at the dragon again, she remembered he called himself Shade, and knew his instantly for they had met before. Like her, he was alot smaller. Still his attitude hadn't changed one bit. Normally Cerena was a nice dragon, but Shade just always got under her skin, or scales in this case. He probably sensed her presence by now too. So with her decision made, she came out from behind a large pillar.

"I was wondering what all this commotion was about. It's nice to see your ego hasn't mellowed Shade." Cerena says as she approaches him and Sikes.

Looking at Sikes, she bowed and says, "Greetings human, my name is Cerena and I am of the Light Dragon tribe. Forgive me for overhearing but it sounds like you two are on the same course as I am."

In the back of her mind, she wondered if and when she would me a human worthy to make a pact with.

It had been a very long journey, but Stella finally made it to the ruins that were riddled with mysteries. The pale hair young lady didn't know what drew her here, but something told her she would find her answer. At the moment she was near the top of a tree and was able to see part of the ruins. She wanted to see if she was going in the right direction and it looked like she was. Now all she had to do was get down the tree and head southwest from here. Going down quickly and gracefully, Stella made her way down and soon was back on solid ground. Before heading on though, the blonde grabs some cheese and an apple for lunch. She had water carrier too, but it was almost gone. This journey had drained more of her supplies than she though. It was a good thing she knew how to survive in the wild. After eating, she heads towards the ruins.

Dragon Ruins

Before the two of them took another step, Shade sensed a familiar feeling as he stopped in his tracks. Sikes also stopped behind the small black dragon as he peered to the side to try and see what was wrong with him. Before either of them could react or speak, a voice spoke out from behind them.

"I was wondering what all this commotion was about. It's nice to see your ego hasn't mellowed Shade."

Sikes looked back, for a brief moment not seeing anyone behind him. It was only until he looked down that he saw a small white dragon stepping toward them. He took a sudden step back, surprised from finding yet another dragon on the same day. Shade on the others hand, walked around Sikes and stepped up to the white Dragon. "It's seems your still the goody two claws as always, as well, Cerena." He replies back to her as her attention turned to Sikes.

"Greetings human, my name is Cerena and I am of the Light Dragon tribe. Forgive me for overhearing but it sounds like you two are on the same course as I am."

Shade suddenly steps between Cerena and Sikes in protest. "Sorry, but he's already formed a pact with me. You know a Human can't form a pact with more then one Dragon." He replies to her words, getting defensive on the human he had a pact with.

Sikes was getting annoyed by Shade's ego filling attitude as he spoke out finally. "Ok that's enough. I may not know about the "rules" to this pact thing, but your getting way to full of yourself." He says to Shade in protest as he looks down at him with his arms crossed. "Full of myself? I'm higher then you in both race and status. I happen to be the next in line to lead my Tribe. I'm Royalty!" Shade replies back, turning to face Sikes with a growling tone of voice. "Royalty? More like a royal pain. It doesn't mater how powerful your kind is, your still have a bigger ego then a Orc that just won a battle!"

"How dare you, you low life race!" Shade flapped his wings in rage as he hovered in eye level to Sikes, both of them glaring each other down now as things weren't coming to a good start with this Human and Dragon Pact team.

Dragon Ruins

Stella couldn't believe how big the ruins were. Even in its present condition it was still an impressive sight. As she was walking though, her ears picked up something. Stopping, she listened more carefully. It was voices and it wasn't too far from where she was. Also by the sound of it, the two voices were arguing. One did sound familiar also and Stella wondered who it was. Still, she knew she had to be careful. The yelling soon stopped but the young traveller was about to figure out where it was coming from. Moving lightly on her feet, she moved towards the source of the commotion. She looked around each wall she came upon. Soon, she looked around a corner and nearly gasped. It wasn't the tall structures she saw that almost gave her away, but who she saw in front of them. It only took her a moment to realize she saw dragons. Stella didn't know how to read until her older teacher taught her how. And amongst the things she read was about dragons, which she had a secret fascination with. Still, she didn't think they were real. Looking again only confirmed what she saw and that she was right about one of the voices belonging to someone she knew. She recognized the tall man as Sikes Keller. He knew her old teacher, Flint Harper, from the times they crossed paths. She actually heard about him before meeting him when she started living with Flint. At the moment, Sikes was staring down a small black dragon and there was a small white dragon not far from them, looking bored. Suddenly the white dragon turned and looked directly at Stella, causing her to freeze.

Cerena sighed at both Sikes and Shade's behaviors. Typical males, no matter what the species. When the two started staring at each other, Cerena picked up a presence. Seemed like another human was in the area. Turning around, the white dragon looked and saw a pale hair young lady.

"Gentlemen, sorry to intrude on your staring contest, but we're not alone anymore." Cerena said before lifting her tail and pointing to Stella. Stella groaned and decided to come out of hiding. After coming out behind the wall, she first looked at Sikes.

"Hi, Sikes. Um . . . " she started to say but stopped.

She was at a lose for words for once. Cerena looked at the girl curiously.

Sikes and Shade continued to give each other a glare down until Cerena spoke out to get their attention.

"Gentlemen, sorry to intrude on your staring contest, but we're not alone anymore."

Both of them looking over at her in almost perfect sync, they both catch sight of a girl appearing before them. Sikes recognized her as she spoke out to mainly him.

"Hi, Sikes. Um . . . "

Sikes stepped away from Shade, closer to her, "Stella? That you? Man it's been a long time. Haven't seen you since last time I visited Old Man Flint. You finally starting off all on your own?" He asks, her, his mood changing as he was glad to see a familiar face after so long of being on his own. Behind him, Shade walked over to where Cerena stood, watching Sikes and Stella talk. "Another human here? Maybe you can earn yourself a Pact as well." After saying that to her, he turns to actually look directly at her. "As annoying as you are, I still want to ask. Is the situation with the Light Tribe just as bad? I don't think there would be any other reason you would come out onto Elendia otherwise."

Cerena turned to Shade when he asked her a question. Sighing, she told him the grave news.

"My father is now corrupted." she said very quietly, only for Shade's ears.

Anyone who knew her father, Cyrus III, knew that he was one of the strongest dragons and did his best to stop the corruption. But there was worry in his heart and that worry became fear, which eventually led to him finally succumbing to the corruption that seemed to spread through all tribes like a disease.

"My mother and I are amongst the few left. I was ordered to come here to see if I could prevent the war from coming to the Human world." Cerena added.

Stella smiles at Sikes. Feeling more like herself, she answers him, "Yes I am on my own now. I've heard many things about this place and decided to come here. Of course, I never thought I'd see dragons here. It's good to see though. Um, do any of you know is going on here?"

Cerena heard that, and leaving Shade's side, she came up.

"This world is in danger, my dear. Tensions are rising within the dragon community and it could not only spell war between our tribes but bring war here to your world."

Stella's eyebrows raised at that statement. She had seen alot of things in her young life, but hearing this topped it off. It sounded too incredible to be true, but something inside Stella told her it was true. Flint had told her to always trust her instincts because it could mean the difference between life and death. It was something Stella agreed to.

"Um, okay, but why are you two here than?" she asked, not thinking of anything else to say at the moment.

"We're here to stop the war. Unfortunately, in my current state I can't do anything. I actually use to be bigger and stronger, but when I came through the portal to reach this world, I lost most of my powers and my size shrank." Cerena explained.

"Is there anyway for you got your original state back?"

"Actually, there is. I must make a pact with a human strong enough to share one's strength with me. I'd like that person to be you." Cerena said, hoping this wouldn't scare the girl off.

Now Cerena was shocked and her mouth fell open.

"Me? You want me to be your partner? But, I am not a strong person."

"Hehe, my dear, it's your inner strength that's more important. You've been through alot haven't you?"

That caught Stella off guard and she straighten her back as her eyes darkened a bit. This dragon couldn't possibly know about her past could she?

"Yes I have."

Cerena could tell the girl didn't want to talk about her past and let it be, for now at least.

"Right than, so would you care to make a pact with me please? The world depends on it." the dragon added.

Taking a deep breath, Stella thought about it for a minute. She had travelled to many places and met great people. The idea of seeing lives destroyed did not sit well with her. She couldn't save her family. Maybe now she could make up for that here in her own way.

"All right you have a deal." she replied.

"Excellent. Before we begin, can I have your name please?"

"Stella. Stella Correigh."

For some reason, Cerena felt that wasn't her name, but knew the girl was telling her the truth. It was a weird feeling. She'd find out later.

"My name is Cerena." the dragon replied.

In that instant, white light shimmered around Cerena before surrounding Stella. It was a very weird feeling and the young lady could feel the connection instantly. Also, on her lower back she felt a burning sensation. When it was over, Stella reached behind her and felt something warm on her lower back.

"There, that wasn't so bad was it?" Cerena smiled.

"No, not really . . . " Stella murmured.

As Cerena told him about what had happened, Shade didn't say a word, knowing how it was like as well. He was almost the only one left from the corruption so far in his own tribe, but he wasn't about to tell her that, at least not at this moment.

Once the conversation between Cerena and the new girl was over, Shade walked up to all three of them. "Well, now that we each have a pact, we should try and get to returning our powers back." Sikes looks at him, slightly confused by what he just said. "Wait, you mean that the pact alone isn't enough to regain it all?" Shade huffs a bit before he responded, Of course not, otherwise I'd already be back in my original powerful form by now. The pact is more like a key to gaining more power. Since it has been so long since the last Dragon that has formed a pact, the rest of the information has actually been lost. These Ruins, however should be able to give us some form of clue as to the next steps in restoring our power. Something that will really be needed if we're to find a way to stop this war from starting."

Holding his hand up to his chin, Sikes nods along with what Shade said in explanation, "Sounds good, I guess we better start looking around." Turning to look over at Stella and Cerena, he finishes saying, "We'll get much more ground if we split up, and a Dragon might be the best to finding anything in this place. What do you say to splitting into two teams? Human and Dragon."

He suggests to them the idea, believing it would be the best choice of action to find something as soon as possible. "We'll meet back here at the Plaza area once the sun starts to set for camp."

Shade nods, liking the sound of the idea, "Hmmm not bad. I have no problems with it. Unless the girl and little "goody two claws" has something against it." Shade gives a light smirk, looking over at Cerena as he called her once again by that name again.

Time seemed to go by quickly for the two humans and two dragons. Stella's relationship with Cerena was still growing. Cerena certainly liked her partner but there was something 'off' about Stella. The young lady was very outgoing, but when it came to her past, she was tightlipped. She thought about asking Sikes, but that would be rude. Shade continued to get under her scales, but she ignored his rude remarks for the most part. Putting up with him was going to be an adventure in of itself and one Cerena wasn't too thrilled about. Still, if they were to prevent war, it would be best to work together.

It had been days since they decided to stay at the ruins. However, Stella was starting to get a little restless. She found she loved traveling and her master Flint told her she got the 'traveling bug', whatever that meant. She figured it meant she loved going to new places so much, she didn't like staying anywhere for too long. The blonde hoped they would leave this place soon. It had been fun exploring the massive ruins, but just the other day she explored as much as she could and was already wanting to leave.

"How much longer do we have to wait?" she finally complained to their group.

"Oh I have feeling it won't be too long." Cerena replied.

Suddenly a voice broke through the stillness of the ruins.

"Hello! Anyone out there? We come in peace!"

That got Cerena's attention.

"I guess someone has arrived. I'll go and investigate." she said.

"Wait! I'll go with you. You don't know what's out there." Stella replied.

Not to mention she wanted something to do beside sit there. Cerena nodded her head and the two walked in the direction of the voice. Luckily it wasn't too far for in this vast ruin, one could walked for over and hour and still be inside of it. Cerena would have flown, but since she didn't know who was out there, she kept to the ground. Stella walked quietly again, making sure not to make a sound. Soon they heard more voices. This time they heard a more masculine voice before hearing the same one as before.

"Oh right, I forgot that you're a complete weakling who couldn't defend against a rabbit kitten. And that your display of idiotic happiness obviously wouldn't have attracted a single being now would it? Now. Get. Off."

Cerena looked around the wall they were behind and saw something that almost caught her off guard. She saw a red dragon sitting on top of a human female. The sight was so ridiculous that she almost started laughing. She could prevent a hitch in her breath though. Stella wanted to groan and looked to see what was happening also. However, unlike her partner, Stella started to laugh.

Dragon Ruins - Several Days After the Aero Islands
Xensa and Zephyr

"Wooooah! This place is incredible! It's just like something out of the hero stories! I wonder if there was a Stalker here at one point... Probably. They were everywhere. But I can't be sure... Hmm..." Xensa spoke quickly, clearly excited. Zephyr rolled his eyes as Xensa kept looking around like an excited hatchling. "Xensa. Focus. We don't know what secrets this ruin may hold. For all we know, there could be things lurking here that we couldn't anticipate. Be mindful.", warned Zephyr. Xensa sighed and focused on the ruined road ahead of them, stepping over small chunks of debris. The two wound their way past collapsed walls and through abandoned streets. The ruins still held a commanding majesty, despite their state. There was no doubt about it, this was a place of power.

Despite the forest around them having wildlife, the ruins seemed oddly empty. It was a similar stillness to the stillness on the Island. Not quite unsettling, but not peaceful either. Xensa's skin prickled, and he stopped. Zephyr took notice a few steps later and turned to face his partner. "Something wrong, Xensa? Did you hear anything? Xensa said nothing, instead focusing on some faint noises he heard moments ago. Voices? No. It couldn't be. Could it? Rather than answer Zephyr, he dashed down a narrower side street, checking the buildings to either side to find a good vantage point. There. He saw it. A slightly crumbling outcropping on a large building that had probably belonged to a statue of something.

Xensa ran towards the base of the building where he saw the outcropping. A pile of rubble from a nearby collapsed building served as a jumping point for Xensa to leap onto the building. There were enough cracks in the exterior stonework to serve as makeshift handholds while he climbed the two stories up to reach his destination. He reached the outcropping within five minutes. Dropping into a squat to keep a low profile, Xensa cautiously moved towards the edge of the overhanging ledge. He had a much better viewpoint for the surrounding city than most any other point. Earlier, the sights laid before him would have placed him into a state of slack-jawed awe. But not now. Below, in a area relatively free of rubble, were a group of people. Even more surprising, there were dragons with the people there. Other dragon-human partnerships? So Zephyr and I aren't the only ones... Hmm... What are they doing here? Are they after the same answers we are? Do they mean us harm? Or do they want to help?

The rushed sounds of Zephyr's flapping wings could be heard as the shrunken dragon labored his way up to Xensa. Humans... Always some kind of trouble... He landed next to Xensa, breathing heavily. "Now what... are we doing... up here..., he said in between gasps of air. Xensa held up a hand for silence, pointing with his other free hand at the assembled humans below. He hardly moved at all. "Now we wait to see what they do. Be silent. Zephyr slowly nodded, watching the other group warily. Similar questions to Xensa's were forming in his head. Who are these humans and dragons, and what is their goal?

As the days went by during the search through out the Dragon Ruins, they were unable to find anything new after so many days. While Sikes and Shade stood at the center plaza of the ruins, they both looked back at the gateways that were meant to go to the Dark and Light Dragon Tribes.

"Something doesn't seem right.", muttered Sikes as Shade looked up from where he sat.

"What do you mean, human?", replied Shade as Sikes gave him an annoyed look.

"First of all, it's Sikes, remember? Secondly, you said this place was once the home of the Dragons, different tribes living together like a sort of capital right?"

"Yes, that's what this place once was until the tribes left Elendia." Shade nodded, wondering where Sikes was going with this.

"Then why are only the Light and Dark Tribes gateways here? What reason would they have to not have them here as well?"

Shade realizes what Sikes was talking about and looked back at the gateways. Thinking for a bit, the small dragon stood up and started to walk toward gateways to get a better look. Sikes watched until his gaze looked back down to where Shade was sitting, noticing something strange marked on the floor. Curiously, he knelt down to get a better look, dusting off some of the dirt that had collected over the ground. There was a strange marking on the floor that he could have sworn he saw somewhere before.

"For only two tribes to be mentioned in the center of the place does seem rather strange." Shade speaks while looking at the gateways, getting Sikes attention as he looks up from his spot. Suddenly spotting what the symbol was as he saw the same one on the gateway to the Dark Dragon Tribe. Looking back at the symbol on the ground, then at the gateway, he realized they were the same markings as he tries to clear more of the ground off. Only able to uncover slight portions of other markings that seem to go in a circle having one seventh marking in the center of them.

"Hey! I think I found something!" Sikes called out to Shade as he walked back, looking down at what he had found. "See? Right here. Six different symbols all around a seventh. One of them is the same on the Dark Tribe's gateway." Pointing them out to Shade, the small dragon examines them intently before giving a slight hissing chuckle.

"Not bad, human! I mean Sikes..sorry. This is what we need, there must be more writing on this ground. Could hold just the information we need." Shade replies back, excited to have finally found a possible clue to what they needed to know as the two of them begin to clean off more of the ground. But then the sudden sound of voices stopped them as the looked off in the direction it came from.

"Might be Stella and Cerena."

"No, there's more of them. We have some uninvited guests it seems.", replies Shade as he sniffed the air, catching the scent of others beside Stella and Cerena in the area. In a slightly other direction, they also caught the sound of movements over the roof tops of the collapsed buildings, giving them two points of attention.

"..ok...I'll go and check out what that sound was, you go and see if Stella and Cerena are alright." Sikes says with a slight whisper as he stood up, walking carefully in the direction of the noise as his hand near the hilt of his blade. Shade, nodding to the plan, moves in the direction that the voices were coming from.

Shade

Walking over to a small clearing in the rubble, he could hear the voices of conversations coming from where he detected Stella and Cerena were at, carefully going around a corner to see what it was. To his amazing surprise, he saw the two of them talking to four others, two dragons and two humans. Not noticing any form of threat, he walked up from around the corner and toward where Stella and Cerena stood.

"What's going on here? Who are you four?", the small black dragon called out in a demanding voice. Even though they weren't much of a threat at the moment, the fact that they were other dragons could always be trouble with the war situation that was going on. Giving the new dragons and humans a stern look, he made sure to keep them in his sights as he walked in front of Stella and Cerena in an almost defensive matter.

Sikes

Carefully and quietly moving in the direction that he heard the noise, he steadily held his hand by his blade, in case the noise was a threat in any way. His attention was then brought upward by the sound of flapping as he spotted a glimpse of a figure that flew onto a roof top. Moving up to the nearby building, he climbed up along a collapsed wall as he got a bit closer to where the figure came from.

"Hey! I know your up there! Show yourself!" He called out at the two story building as he stood on a small collapsed building behind it. His hand carefully near his blade, ready for any possible attack.

Dragon Ruins - Gael and Gaea

"Why are you laughing?" asked Gael, oblivious and innocent. This made Gaea laugh even more. Oh, the innocence of a human and at her age!

"Nothing!" he managed to breath out between his laughs. Gael's lips thinned into a small grimace as she felt a little unsatisfied with the answer. As they continued walking into the ruins of the city, it wasn't long before Gael's ears picked up the voices of some people talking. Gaea heard it too. As if through a silent agreement, Gael slowly crept her way closer to the inner ruins and Gaea immediately silenced his laughter. It wasn't long later when they heard light steps moving away from them.

"I heard something about symbols...and a Dark Dragon...then a gateway. Or was it a Dark Dragon Gateway?" Gael asked. "Do you know anything about this Gaea?"

"To be honest young one?" Gaea made amused gutturals. "I know what it is, but it would be better to go see for yourself."

At this, Gael moved forward and as soon as she stepped forward to the clearing of where there were 6 circles surrounding a middle 7th circle...as well as a young man standing on a nearby rubble.

"Hey! I know your up there! Show yourself!" he yelled out, looking up at the taller building, poised to strike as quick as possible.

Gael, on the other hand, stood gaping at the man.

Ayla watched the four new additions to their twosome with open curiosity as they all introduced themselves. Ardoris on the other hand kept his facial expressions extremely guarded, judging and weighing up the other dragons and humans without uttering a word. However, when the spirit dragon opened her mouth to speak, he allowed a flicker of shock to pass over his features. He had believed their race to be a myth until now. Many of the fire Tribe had scoffed at the idea of a Spirit Tribe, but eventually there was an element of truth behind the legends, for here she stood. It also appeared, he observed, that the same Fate had befallen these dragons as they had betrayed their Tribes and passed through the forbidden portals in order to come to into the Human World. And whether it was luck, or intelligence that had brought them all to the same place, they were gathered together. Hopefully, as an united force rather than a warring one. Although no Water Dragon had made their presence known, Ardoris knew he would bury any feud in the hope that they could be at peace and he could save his father. Of course, that might not hold true for the other Tribes. Who knew what the Light Dragon would do if she happened across a Dark Dragon.

"I too believe we have all gathered here with a common goal in mind. I have betrayed the very laws of my kind to prevent the eruption of a war that will only bring destruction. However, a single human and dragon cannot stop this outbreak by themselves. I can only say that we are lucky that others had the sense to take it upon ourselves to see that this asinine war does not occur. We may be able to find answers here in the ruins of our ancestors. Doing so together may be beneficial, as our numbers will make up for our current lack of power."

Ardoris' eyes flickered to the Spirit Dragon and he nodded his head in response. "I could not agree more. In this we must be a united force, we must stand together in order to prevent such a war from ravaging this world. Our ancestors fought tooth and claw to protect the humans and now our own members turn against their history. It cannot be and we shall not let it." He glanced around at the small group, wishing that a few others had joined them. Well there was time yet. In any case, he hoped they could find answers here, something to guide them in their cause. Anything. Ayla was watching him carefully, though he had no idea what was on the young woman's mind. It was obviously something she didn't want him to know, as her gaze flickered away the instant their eyes connected. Frowning slightly, he spread his wings and flapped so that he was hovering at head height (for the human's). Just as he was about to ask another question, another voice echoed around the Ruins. Once again, him and Ayla turned as one towards the source. A sudden thought of how in sync they were already crossed his mind, but he allowed it to slip away, concentrating on the task at hand.

"What's going on here? Who are you four?"

To Ardoris utter and complete shock a dragon moved into a defensive stance, in front of Cerena and her human (whose name he had already forgotten). A Dark Tribe Dragon. Well, that took him by surprise. For a second he could do nothing more than stare openly at the trio. It was Ayla was stepped forwards. This time she hadn't drawn her bow, for she had figured one dragon against the six of them stood no chance. However, it was clear he was already on speaking terms with two of them.

"Well hello. We mean no harm, we were simply introducing ourselves. We're...allies." She had been about to say friends, but it seemed too strong of a word at that time. "I am Ayla and this is Ardoris, Son of Fernis from the Fire Tribe. We've formed a human and dragon pact and I'm assuming many of us here have as well. We're not here to attack. We want to help to prevent the war." Smiling, she stepped forwards and held out a hand to the little black dragon, as a form of introduction.

Xensa and Zephyr

"Hey! I know you're up there! Show yourself!"

Zephyr froze like a startled cat next to Xensa. "Blood and ashes! They caught me! What do I do?!", the small dragon hissed to his human companion. They were both barely concealed by the edge of the building and the shadows made them difficult to spot. Xensa's mind still raced, trying to find a way to back out or confront this challenging man. For a few moments, he pondered. He carries himself like a swordsman. I have no doubt that he knows how to use that weapon. Chances are I could probably fare well against him, but fate has funny ways of working in combat between men. Do I try to talk my way out of it? If only I had better time to prepare... He crossed his arms. Maybe if I...

"Xensa! We have to make a choice now! We don't know what he'll do! Do something, human!", cried Zephyr as he butted his way into Xensa's thoughts. The little dragon was circling him at a quick pace, clearly perturbed. Behind his silver mask, he scowled in irritation. "I was trying to think of a plan, you little lizard. Now I have no idea what to do. I'm going to try to talk it out with him. Don't reveal yourself unless you absolutely have to." He paused for a moment, then flicked the dragon on the head. "Don't interrupt me when I'm thinking about something like this again. Or you might serve as a distraction." Zephyr opened his mouth to retort but was silenced by Xensa's upraised hand. Xensa stood, spreading his arms wide as he revealed himself to Sikes.

"Pardon my intrusion, sir! I didn't mean to pry. When I heard voices, I couldn't help but investigate! Curiosity and all that. I mean you no harm, really. I had traveled to these ruins at the behest of a friend, he has strange notions that there might be some hidden secret left in these ruins by the dragons. I told him it was ridiculous, but he's paying good gold for me to find out what I can. What, may I ask, are you up to sir...." Xensa trailed off, waiting for the man below to reply.

Eros Bisset
(Dragon Ruins)

Blah, blah blah blah blah, Oneiroi and Ardoris sure could talk a lot. Although, they weren't doing that much talking at all, but he could only keep himself amused and awake by sending his partner funny facial expressions that may or may not be poking fun of her sense of superiority for so long. He was tired, what he really wanted to do was sink down to the floor and shut his eyes, allowing them to crust over in a deep slumber that lasted for maybe twenty four or more hours. His body ached, though he no longer felt like he was in terrible pain, or in the brink of total mutilation. Instead drowsiness picked at him, whispering for him to lie down and fall into an unconscious bliss, to dream of food that had actual taste and clean, clear water.

Eros yawned, Oneiroi looked pleased with the response she got from the others, especially from the fire dragon who agreed with her words. He was happy for her, really, she seemed so sour and lost at times, maybe being around her own kind would allow her to lighten up. He didn't know what it was like to be a dragon, but he did know what it was like to have a fate of only observing the world below, never to interact with it. It was lonely, desolate, where the days blended in with one and the faces around you drifted by until they were familiar, yet still unknown. Though, if Oneiroi got to be around other dragons, it meant that Eros got to be around their human companions, and maybe this would become the first time he ever made a friend outside of the castle walls.

"What's going on here? Who are you four?"

He flinched, turning his head around to look at another dragon. How many were there? This one was covered in black, shiny scales and carried an air of composure, nobility, confidence and a sense of being superior. It reminded him of Oneiroi, but didn't, they weren't the same though they were similar. Maybe it was the way they held themselves, willing to lead and split oceans, erode mountains to reach the result they wanted. He was already getting a bad feeling that this might mean they were in store for some disagreements and even worse power struggles, instead of an unlikely partnership between two stubborn personalities. Eros would hold his tongue though, and hope that his assumption would turn out to be false.

Oneiroi stepped forward, and he wondered if she would ever tire of introducing herself, proud and undaunted. "And we are the same. I am Oneiroi of the Spirit Tribe." He sighed when she didn't take the time to introduce him as well, she didn't even look at him! She was definitely angry with him for acting silly instead of serious, and would probably get an earful later. "I'm Eros Bisset, Oneiroi's human companion, ready to defeat evil." His tone was sanguine, complete with a matching smile and upright posture, unlike his previous tired body language. This got Oneiroi to glance back at him, and even if she didn't have pupils he could tell that she was immaturely rolling her eyes.
