Introduction
Skrellingshald is among the Griff Mountains, but unlike the untamed crags surrounding it its peak is entirely leveled. Perched on this plateau is a city of heroic portions carved from the rock itself. It holds many noble houses, as well as large pyramids and ramps of unknown purpose. There are large water storage tanks, and evidently water was once piped through the entire city. The broad avenues are lined with tall statues of the same greenish-black rock as the mountain and city, all of them showing typical Flannish features.
Some of the dwellings may be three or more stories high, and the interiors contain among other things depict the lives of the inhabitants. The weather is pleasant for this region through the city is mostly wreathed in snow for the year. For all its enigmatic glory, Skrellingshald might remain relatively obscured were it not for the stories that great treasure might be found there. Indeed it bears some passing resemblance to a land placed by popular legend in the Griff Mountains, where the buildings are "roofed in gold." However, the Citadel of Skrellingshald is most certainly not inhabited by any human race, and does not flaunt what treasure is may have so openly.
Its inhabitants are reported to be particularly malevolent and cunning Kobolds, and perhaps certain diabolic allies, who haunt the tunnels beneath the mountain. The skies of the region are the hunting grounds of Griffons and Gigantic Eagles. Its statues supposedly guard the city itself. If the city ever had gold roofing it has long since been looted. What remains is a wealth of jade jewelry and statuary scattered throughout the region, and a great store of gold in most unusual forms: It is in spheres about the size of a double fist. The troves of gold spheres are to be found somewhere within the pyramids, but it is supposedly unhealthy to meddle with them. Stories have it that those who carry away the spheres contract a horrible wasting and rotting disease.
Nestled deep in the forest is a small Inn named to match its brotherly Mountains, Griff Inn and Tavern. It's furnishings were made of oak and sturdy to the end. Its small area was filled with many tables and chairs with all the comforts of home. Few come here and the ones who do and venture into the mountain are rarely seen again, those that do come back are said to be babbling with crazed looks in their eyes.
~How you come in~
You heard the rumors and your greed for the treasure has lured you to cross country in order to seek out the owner of this rumor and find out if they know anything else. Skrellingshald is simply out of reach, you must find the objects that will give you the clues and take you to places you've never been. You will meet others they may tell you why they are going, but then again they may not. All you know is you have your own reasons in finding the treasure and nothing and no one will stop you in getting to it.
~Common Things to go by~
You are either a good guy seeking the treasure for some noble cause or your a not so good guy simply in it for themselves.
You will find a way to either hide or outright inform the others of why your going after the treasure.
You may play as many characters as you like, just keep up with the happenings.
Don't let your ego get too big or there will be others to knock you down a peg.
Use Maps, compasses, be creative to an extent we don't want to ruin the ultimate goal of the adventure-to find this rumored city.
You can be any creature you wish just know what you are and not what a movie or newly written book does. [No sparkly vampires please, this isn't twilight and if you portray a vampire they are not allowed to walk in daylight, I forbid it.]
This is a story, things do happen to people along the way, if you have a faboo idea PM me with it and we'll see if it flows.
When entering into this story be frivolous, you don't have to be in the same place as everyone else. One could be at a tavern, one in the woods, one riding his/her horse, or even bathing in a stream somewhere. That's the beauty of creativity.
And remember every poison has a cure, fatal wounds you CAN die from, spells do have reversals....so No acting as if your god and when or if you fight someone please remember to play it fair, talk in PM on who will win and then indulge the rest of us.
If you wish to be corny like me the GM you can on your introduction post put a pretty little picture of the area or place you are located at.
AND always if your unsure of things just ask in the OOC or PM me I'll be happy to help you.
