"Dyed hair? Ah that explains it." Does he think me stupid? "Well then fine. Talk. Tell me this information you supposedly have." He sat down and locked his arms together, smirking. He kicked his feet up on his desk and laced his fingers together, his eyes never once straying away from Araluens. Mind games were his real specialty. That and reading people. "Please, sit down. Have a drink maybe? Rest and speak your mind."
Araluen stayed calm, his own green eyes never leaving the councilman's. ::So you wanna play mind games eh? Well...let's just play.: He let the determination take a fold back into his mind and letting his mind rest. Letting the information fall out as it may. He sat down and respectfully declined the drink. "I have heard from the lower Kuo-Toa that once this war is over with...they plan on waging war with you as well. He kept his posture straight, his mind clear and focused, and his hands respectfully on his lap. "Hearing this small tid-bit I immediately came to you. Figured since you are the councilman for our race then you might want to know about this." he leaned back in the chair, giving himself an air of ease around him.
Torne Ruska walked quickly down the streets towards the council building. His worry was growing as he walked, each step a slight bump higher for the worry. Along the way, two humans tried to mug him. Not stopping, he grabbed both by their heads and crashed them together. He continued on his way, arriving at the town hall. He opened the doors and looked around... No one... He sat on a bench close to the human council member's door and waited...
Achstrom Wavebreaker thinks he hears Hinn say his name. "Hey!" he waves to her, then he looks around for a way to get up to her before remembering she can fly
Beibhinn smiled widely when the person she had seen responded. "Hiya!" she called. She had waved bye to Torne and quickly glided over to Achstrom. "I haven't seen you...How are you?" she questioned with a large smiled. She hadn't been sure at first, but she was happy she was right. Torne was kinda scary to talk to alone, sometimes...
Alexander only blinked and giggled softly. But soon it grew into a rather disturbed laugh. "Oh you silly...human. If that were true, then I'd be in one hell of a bind. My wealth and power would mean almost nothing. With the Toads heavily out-numbering the human race, it would seem I would have to pick a side, wouldn't I? But that is not your concern, yet again." He stood and looked out his office window. "They are a barbaric race, the Kou-Toa. They are constantly on the verge of a civil war, always seeking war with other races to stem the tide. But could you imagine if they would all be tragically...Wiped out? Lets say, slowly, through out a long, drawn out war with the combined races of this world? What would you say to that?" He turned around...a small orb in his hand now. "No use running, you filthy fish. You lose." He drew his blade and grinned.
Araluen let his eyes widen in fear. He quickly used his spellchanter abilities to make the sword embed itself into the wall before making his getaway out of the room. He saw Torne sitting and pulled on his arm. "No time for questions, just run!" he pleaded, trying to force Torne to move. He wasn't about to leave the one person he cared about in the hands of some bat-shit crazy human. "Please don't fight with me on this." he whispered franticly. The human would be coming out of the office any second now.
Torne Ruska was confused at Araluen's plea, but decided to follow. Knowing he could easily outrun a pompous human, he started running. He unsheathed his falchion just in case and followed after the triton, "Quickly, underwater!" He immediately jumped in the canal and turned into a shark, swimming as fast as he could.
Beibhinn sighed, though she was still smiling. "I'm okay. Racing is doing well, too! Though that...isn't exactly all me..." she mumbled quietly.
Councilman Alexander Versat smiled as he watched the two diver. He didn't even bother calling for the guards. Its not like they could do any harm. He controlled the human people of GreatReef. They elected him. For life. He laughed and sat the orb back down on his desk. His little bluff had worked. "It was just a paper weight." He took his sword from the wall and sighed, sheathing it. "Now then, I had some business elsewhere..." As he stepped past his secretary, he snapped at his personal guard. This frail human has nearly half a battalion following him. Such was his network of power. "I'm going out for a bit."
Ictus sat ontop of a pillar as he watched Arulean and Torne start to flee. He smiled to himself, looking straight at Alexander as he held a glass of water in his hands. "Why hello Councilor. What a fine day isn't it?" The water elf asked.
Araluen dove in the water and swam almost faster than Torne. He stopped at an underwater archway and tried to catch is breath. His fin was swishing back and forth in an agitated motion. "T-That human had to be bat-shit crazy!" he said, nearly hyperventilating. "He pulled a sword out on me and was talking about destroying the kuo-toa race and everything. I think we need to change our plan of direction for who to try and get to side with us." he said slightly shivering at the thought of nearly being made into chum.
Torne Ruska stopped and looked at Araluen... He motioned him to resurface so he could breathe and talk and swam towards it. He turned back into his humanoid form, "Let's go to the inn to talk about it... it's more private..."
Beibhinn laughed nervously. "Well...I kinda get some help sometimes. Don't worry about it!" she stated. She shouldn't have said that...That guy was scary...and then confusing. She didn't really want to be a part of it, but she did like winning and he was helping..."So, what've you been up to?"
Marinia Loaki twirled the flute around in her hand, tossing it up and feeling the heavy wood smack against her palm as she caught it. The air brushes her face lightly as she hummed along. This wasn't the best area to clown around in, but honestly she couldn't careless. It was a happy day for her, the Bard didn't know why, but it was. She heard an oddly familiar voice nearby, and then looked over at the direction.
Achstrom Wavebreaker shrugs. "not much really. i've been looking for work but so far, nothing." he decided not to pry into Hinn's buisness.
Ictus "Why hello Councilor. What a fine day isn't it?" The water elf asked. Ictus kept watch on the councilor from atop his pillar. He was in robes that covered him from head to toe, his hood covering all but his mouth and eyes from this angle. His gloved hands held the glass half full of water. He brought the glass to his lips, sipping a small amount. "Trouble in paradise?"
The Councilor shrugged as his guards presented their arms. "At ease men. This person is obviously not that smart. I am on my way somewhere good sir. I bid you good day." He turned in his heels. "Interruption these days. Coming out of the damn wood work. Not minding their own bloody business. Like I need them." He ran his hand through his well groomed hair and huffed. "We're going." He began to march away, sining of all things.
Araluen entered the hotel room and flopped on the bed. "That couldn't have gone any worse than if he ran the sword through my stomach!" he cried out. "But it was kind of funny. He held up this glass orb thingy. Like I would be scared of that when a sword is in my direct sight and the only weapon I would have would be my spellchanter abilities. But still scary. Very scary." he said running a hand through his hair.
Torne Ruska sat down on the bed next to Araluen, sighing as he threw his chain on the floor with his weapons. he leaned his head against the back wall, "I knew I had to follow you... I had the feeling you were in trouble..." He ruffled Araluen's hair and chuckled, "It must have been..." He sighed, thinking of new strategies
Beibhinn tilted her head. "You're looking for a job? What kind?" she questioned curiously. She hadn't heard anything about what he had done for a living before, she didn't think. "I hope you can find one real soon!" she stated with another large smile.
