Yrael followed slowly, using building sides to keep his balance. Wow, he really wasn't doing well. And it appeared he was the only one affected by the Portal, strange... He sighed and pushed off the last building, coming up to walk alongside Lupis. He trudged along gloomily, hands in his pockets, until the sight of a barbed wire fence made him stop. Did he really want to go into an area swarming with Humans? But if he didn't go, this werewolf may become suspicious.
"I, guess we turn right here?" He said with no real enthusiasm.

Ian looked down at the wretched woman and prided himself for being impervious to her lies. Even now, beaten, she claimed to be part of a government. Maybe it's the name of her street gang. Ian thought for a moment. No. Her cohorts would have appeared as soon as she was on the ground. Maybe there really is some organized government rising again. Impossible. There would have been word long before any organization gained any kind of foothold near the portal. Ian was running out of reasons why this witch was sticking to her story. She clung to her identity as as a government agent as a child would cling to her mother in time of crisis. In fact...
Oh, hell no.
Was she... crying?
Ian's hard heart dropped to the bottom of his stomach. Could he have made a terrible mistake? The Others stood by mocking his brash behavior and Ian's mind raced as he began to second-guess himself. He could have killed her. Has this bleak world jaded him so much that as soon as he saw a stranger he thought to end their life? Ian looked into her dark eyes and saw two things. One which he had expected; the fierce spirit of a young woman tempered by a harsh reality, and one which he did not; a sincere innocence that pleaded him to let the woman go. Ian Foster, a man far too quick to hate, was beginning to hate himself for being so blind. What a hypocrite he was, his excessive paranoia had sabotaged his plans for universal accord for humans and Others. I'm such a Heel.
Ian refused to let this gaffe stymie his ambitions and decided to proceed delicately and deliberately. He pulled himself off the ground and stepped back from his victim. "All right then, strange lady, if you're part of a government then prove it. Who's your CO? Where is your group based? And why in God's gray earth are you traveling alone when you are so easy to knock down with no more than a grenade and a tack from a man twice your size?"
Ian tried to smile politely and he extended his hand for her to take it.

Yrael stopped when he heard Lupis speak. Help Evelyn? She was in trouble? Of course, the wolfman might care, but Yrael really didn't. He snorted quietly and smirked. "I'll run like an idiot," he said quietly to himself as Lupis left. He looked forward to the direction they had been heading. He really didn't want to hang around a bunch of humans until Lupis and Evelyn showed up. Who cared what the wolfman thought anyway? Unfortunately, Yrael was not familiar with the area and so had not an idea which direction he should head. He sighed and leaned against a fencepost, letting his top hat slip over his eyes once again. Maybe they would return soon and prevent him from having to make a decision about leaving or staying. Maybe, if he kept up his facade, he could learn more about the human race which would assist him in overtaking them.

Evelyn blinked again as the man got to his feet. She quickly wiped the tears away and took his hand. "I was assisting two Others in getting to the Government base when I heard your battle. If you are willing, I will take you all there and we can discuss proper actions. I was traveling alone because my group got split up. I am confident in my ability to survive, or at least I was." She looked around at the rest of the group. "My, this is the largest group of people I've seen in a while," She commented quietly.

"You could say that," she said looking at Lupis, "Well that that i know it is him i'm not sure." She looked at the human male and human female, "so are we going to kill each other or what?" Her question was a mix of seriousness and sarcasm. She had noticed it had gotten dark and this place this woman spoke off, this...government base, didn't sound to bad for rest, considering she actually hadn't slept in a few days because she was too busy guarding her ass on the way to The Blood Path, Darklina had become even more dangerous since it made its 'hand shake' with Earth, and she still needed blood, she figured they might have some there considering they apparently dealt with Others, they had to of had some for the vampire Others...like herself. She thought for a moment, "grandfather?" She thought to herself. For some reason when Lupis said that some weird feeling popped into her head, like she had forgotten something important, but she never forgot things for long, she was sure she'd remember it soon.

Yrael crouched in the gravel on the side of the road, absentmindedly poking a centipede with a stick. Every time he poked it the creature would curl into a spiral and it was quite amusing. Lupis had been gone for awhile now and Yrael was considering leaving. He didn't want to face anyone from that group for a while. Looking up at the sky, he dropped the stick, stood, and stretched. It was getting dark. Yeah, he thought, time to move out. He stuck his hands into his pockets and followed the barbed-wire fence back the way he'd come.

"Okay," said Ian, "How far away is the 'Government' outpost? I can't wait to see it,"
