History

At an early age, Mal (Malcolm) was interested in service. As a boy scout, Mal received his first accuracy training with a bow, which he excelled at along with the simple survival training all scouts received. Later on he would go on to rotc in high school. While out on a date with his then girlfriend they were attacked by some thugs, he tried to fight them off but ultimately got his ass kicked. Mal's story could have ended that night if not for the intervention of Batman, who swooped down into the alley after hearing the screams of the young lady. After this incident he took great interest in Batman and looked at The Dark Knight as a role model of his. He signed up with the marines the day after graduation, sticking with his status quo he excelled in accuracy and weapons training. However the day he picked up a sniper rifle was one of the happiest days of his life. He started with special forces training and eventually entered and completed sniper school. Mal thrived as a marine corp sniper but after the news of his fathers death Mal ended his tour of duty and returned home with an honorable discharge. Mal came home to an empty house learning that his brother moved to Metropolis three years prior. His fathers death was officially ruled as a result of a simple breaking and entering but the case was suspicious at best and the GCPD seemed unwilling to delve too deep into the murder. Mal got a job as a TYGER guard to pay the bills but after discovering what exactly he was getting paid to do for Proffesor Hugo Strange he quit. The news of Batman's death hit Mal pretty hard. Gotham was a harsh place to live in but Mal always felt that as long as Batman was there it was tolerable because he was there to help people the way he'd helped Mal all those years ago. Now with the cities only protector dead Mal took it upon himself to avenge the Dark Knight as well as protect the people of Gotham. Mal stumbled across the message calling for those unwilling to stand by and watch the rampant injustice loose in their city go on to meet at the Clock Tower. Mal put together a suit out of tactical gear from his time in the military, called in some favors to get his old rifle back and took to calling himself Hollowpoint.
