An angel fighting both for justice and against an unforgivable past.
Traes is silent and strong. He will always try to keep the peace above all else, and though his stride is cool and confident, there is a softness to his step. He is kind and considerate, though often too reserved to make many connections. He will always try to do what's right, though that is not necessarily always God's will.
Traes is an angel well known by many in the celestial community; having lived three lives, many centuries apiece, he has had a lot of time and a lot of influence to become well known. Born to an idle, hedonistic pair of demons, Traes was determined to succeed where his parents had failed in furthering the Fallens' war effort on Earth. He made great progress, too; starting and fanning the flames of war and chaos from London, his birthplace, from the 15th century he began his unholy work.
First, came the Hundred Years War. Political strife was Traes' specialty, at the time; knowing just how to influence ruling parties, the hostility between England and France was easy enough to manipulate. Eventually a group of angels came together to slow his progress, so with time he stopped bothering with the French and whispering in Joan de Arc's ear to return instead to England. Undeterred, Traes began instead on his latest project: the War of the Roses. Inciting fights between the nobility in a feud of blood and pride for the crown occupied much of Traes' time, until one day God's agents finally caught up to him.
He was captured and tortured for many years, as payment for the many crimes he had committed against humanity. Throughout the century-long process, however, a young angel girl, Vivia, would visit him daily; she was kind and thoughtful, quick-witted and curious, and her bright red locks of hair were as striking as the sparkle in her eye. They talked for many years, and in his pain and isolation, he eventually grew to love her. No angel knew what she saw in him, nor did he, though soon her influence seemed to heal and sanctify his spirit in noticeable ways. Eventually, his body gave out from the strain, and Vivia, torn apart by the idea of his return to Hell, made a deal with God. She gave up the many lives she had remaining, so that Traes might go to Heaven instead.
Both Vivia and Traes were cast out from Heaven, receiving marks on their foreheads to distinguish them as unfallen though tainted; though in their love they hardly minded. Feeling true joy for the first time, Traes devoted himself to God's work so long as he could do it by her side. Returning to Earth, the Renaissance bloomed and spread throughout Europe with their assistance. It was all too short a century before Vivia's life began to fade, however. In her dying days, she revealed to him the deal she had made, and made him promise to stand by God after her passing. Unable to bear the thought of going back to isolation, however, Traes tried to kill himself soon after Vivia passed on.
He found himself back in Heaven. Traes was, of course, still shunned by all of Heaven and Hell, though in his weak state he could do little but dwell in his sadness; Heaven, much safer than Hell, was his only place to rest, though it was hardly a home. After many years, God came to him personally. He took Traes to the edge of Heaven, silent all the while, and pointed mutely down to Earth. Traes hadn't paid much attention to Earth recently; too caught up in his own thoughts, it reminded him too much of the other lives he had led there. But there, on a continent he had widely ignored, was new movement. The sprawling, infantile movement of a group of new colonies held promise, he could see. Turning to God, Traes showed that he understood and appreciated the gift. God, still silent, patted Traes' back, and, though the red mark of an outcast still remained on his forehead, his blackened wings grew, and turned red and white--the very same red as the hair of his beloved.
Traes worked for several centuries protecting what we call America, though now that it has grown to care for itself (ever since WW2) he has lately wandered about the globe, searching for new purpose.
