Her mother used to call her Mai, but now whenever she hears someone calling her by it, she totally breaks down. Also, she is known across the kingdoms as 'The Sand Devil', and practically everyone has heard the name, but never seen her. She really doesn't enjoy being called 'The Sand Devil', but, since everyone now knows about it, she can't seem to shake it off.

Mika's symbol, which means 'Love', is on the left side of her upper forehead (it's on the right side if you're looking straight at her face). She used her sand to create the kanji on her forehead, when she realized that no one loved her, besides herself.

Personality
Mika is not like all of the other girls that were raised to protect the princes, not at all. She had a really horrible childhood that was really tough on her, and it ended up changing who she was. Before Kimiko died during her childhood, she was a slightly happy child, only when she was around Kimiko though, since she thought Kimiko actually loved her. When she wasn't around Kimiko though, she was sad and depressed, since all the other children ignored and ran away from her, and her father tried to kill her.
After Kimiko died and she figured out that she had never loved her, and nobody else loved her either, her personality changed horribly. She became closed, and shut herself away from everyone else She came to only fighting for and loving herself. She came to killing anyone that would try to hurt her, even though they wouldn't be able to lay a scratch on her. With this personality, whenever somebody saw her she would have a frown on her face and her arms would be crossed across her chest. She started to talk less, not that she was shy or anything, but just because nobody loved her, so she decided that nobody would care to hear what she wants to say.
Mika doesn't know anything about feelings or emotions. She doesn't know what it feels like to love, or to be loved. She doesn't even know what pain is because of the sand that always stops her from being hurt. Because of this, she rarely ever smiles, she usually just has a frown on her face.
Mika might say something every now and then, but it's only if she needs to or has a really strong relationship with you. Very rarely, you'll see her smile, but it will only be if she's really close to you, and you've taken the time to get to know her and understand her. Currently, she doesn't have any happiness right now, and thinks emotions are pointless. But really, she's just wanting someone to actually say to her three simple words- 'I love you.'
Description
Mika is actually quite pretty. She has long beautiful red hair which she usually wears down, but sometimes she wears it up in a high ponytail. She seems as if she's a fragile doll, with all her small and petite details. She only stands 5'1", and is very light. Her size is sometimes used against her though by others, such as if someone gives her a hug, she can't get out of it. But, that isn't really a problem for her, considering the sand will stop anybody if they try to get close to her. She has stunning water like blue eyes, but that's at least what they used to be. When she figured out that nobody loved her, they developed a more of a dull look to them, since Mika doesn't feel anything.
Preferred Clothing
Mika prefers to wear a white shirt with a small black skirt (like the one in the picture). Along with this, she wears long black socks that go above her knee and black shoes. It's pretty much quite a formal outfit, but she also wears her dress a bunch, practically all the time on formal occasions.The one strange thing about Mika, is that all the time she wears a gourd on her back all the time, which is filled with sand. The gourd itself is made out of sand, and the only reason she brings it around with her is to make sure that she can use her special ability at all times. Sometimes she'll take the gourd off though, such as during formal occasions. This gourd isn't just a regular gourd filled with sand though, for when the sand comes out of it, an infinite supply will come, and never will the sand run out.
Special Ability
Mika's power doesn't exactly come from her symbol. It actually comes from the soul of a sand demon that she has inside her. This soul had been her mother's, but since her father had convinced her to kill her own mother when she was a child, she inherited the soul. The power she gets from this soul is that she can control sand as she pleases, and the sand even has it's own will, which is the will of her mother. Sand protects her no matter what, and if she or anyone else tries to hurt her, it will appear out of no where (or come from somewhere such as her necklace) and stop whoever it is. She can also create sand, by such as crushing the minerals in the ground.

Charm Point
To tell the truth, Mika actually really has the smile of an angel, but she only used to smile when Kimiko was a live, and to Kimiko, and if her eyes are like they used to be before Kimiko died, they're really beautiful, like rushing blue water. Another of her charm points is her hair, since it's red like a dandelion on fire. Her last charm point is her singing, which she doesn't sing anymore. She has a milky sweet voice when she's actually happy, but now it's just dull, and when she's singing with her original voice, it's very beautiful.
