As Tom entered the field a single goblin that was sitting around eating a huge beetle looked up. In the distance it could see something.

--

This will be our test fight or first test of the system:

First Check

Goblin's Perception: 20 vs. Tom Random's Perception: 6

Equation: 20-6= 14 Perception

Success goes to the Goblin it can clearly see Tom shall be described below.
--

The goblin with it's huge eyes could clearly see Tom Random from far off. It's mouth watered and the goblin went into a frenzy and charged at the unsuspecting Tom Random. Tom would not have much time to react this goblin was slobbering at the mouth and insane.

(Prepare yourself for battle! I need you to look into the rules rules and do an agility check. Take the Goblin's speed and compare it to your own and based on the rules follow through with an attack.)

The goblin cackled and stuck it's tongue out at Tom and his fire spirit before sending a fist towards Tom's fire spirit. Due to the fact it had twice as much agility as Tom's fire spirit it could attack twice and sent a second fist hurtling towards the Fire Spirit in a frenzied state. It did not want to attack Tom because he seemed to be able to take a hit.
--
Goblin's Agility: 20 vs. Tom's Fire Spirit's Agility: 5

Equation: 20-5= 15
--
The Goblin's Fists hurtled into the Tom's fire spirit's ethereal form, but thanks to it's defense it was one tough bugger.

Goblin's Attack: 20 vs. Fire Spirit's Defense: 10

20 attack - 10 defense= 10 Damage, Damage difference is ten so Critical Hit! plus ten damage!

Final Outcome: 20 damage
--
Based on the goblin's abilities Tom's fire spirit was in for a heap of pain as the two fists came in towards his spirit's particle form. The goblin had a happy look on it's face as it thought about the overall pain it would inflict on this trespasser before going back to eat it's bugs.

(You are doing an excellent job Nothing. I feel bad about your fire spirit right now. I hope it gets the ability to kick butt in good time! Because your fire spirit is slower and you are slower than the Goblin with your character Tom the next turn you will get to attack with Tom first and then your fire spirit since Tom is faster than his spirit. I will try to make sure you will get as many opportunities to attack as possible here I hope.)

(Hey, Nothing be sure to keep track of your characters' health. If my math is correct you should currently have ten for your fire spirit and twenty three for Tom.)

Thanks to the fact that Tom's old sword only provided him with seventeen attack power it was not strong enough to cut through the Goblin's thick skin, which provided it twenty defense. It almost did, but the goblin pulled it out to find a strange purple wound on it's green leathery body. The goblin poked it and realized that it stung, but quickly focused its mind back on Tom. It had not realized it at all, but it had been poisoned. What it did not realize though as well was that it was still Tom's fire spirit's turn to attack.
--
Current Situation:

Tom's Health: 23

Goblin's Health: 19

Tom's Fire Spirit's Health: 10

Tom's Fire Spirit may attack in the next post.

(Is the fire tackle a physical attack? I would think it is. You do not say you add the normal attack with the skill's attack power so I'll just go with the skill's attack power. But perhaps I should add that in for the sake of things?)

The goblin did not see Tom's fire spirit charge at him. But it felt the flames lick against it's skin. Thanks to the tough leather hide it had versus the fire spirit's attack the goblin was able to block all the damage, but just barely, well it didn't actually block it per say just stood there menacingly waiting for its next chance to take a swipe at Tom before it felt the body of this strange creature ram it from behind.

--
Outcome:

Tom's Fire Spirit's Fire Tackle Attack: 16 damage vs. Goblin's Defense: 20

20 - 16 = 4

Thus the attack fails.
--
At this rate Tom was probably going to need help, although there was a small victory for Tom. The goblin's health suddenly dropped by one health point. It now had eighteen health.

The goblin growled at Tom and charged in a frenzied state intent on headbutting Tom for another five damage. Thanks to the game mechanics the hit was pretty much an ensured success. The goblin was smirking as it attempted this.

The Goblin's leather skin continued to protect it. Tom really got the cheap end of a bargain with the sword he had now. The Goblin got mad at being now slashed at twice and with a second purple mark on it's body felt more pain course through it's veins.
--
20-17= 3 (Tom's attack fails again, but assuredly poisons the goblin again.)

Goblin takes one damage from poisoning.

Goblin's Health: 17

Tom's Health: 18

Tom's Fire Spirit's Health: 10

Situation: Not Very Good
--
The Goblin retaliated and lashed out at Tom with it's frenzied state and claws. This was going to be a long and painful fight.

The goblin didn't see the fire ball coming so went it got hit it got burnt badly due to not having any magical power.
--
Outcome:

Goblin 0 magic vs. 5 magic from Fire Spirit

Therefore Goblin takes eight damage form Fire Spirit's Fireball.

Tom's Health: 13
Fire Spirit's Health: 10
Goblin's Health: 9
--
The Goblin's flesh burned and it got even madder than it was. But it was heavily distracted by the flames searing it's body.

(I'm having him skip a turn.)

The goblin's skin continued to burn. The goblin wasn't so severely hurt by them now, but he couldn't act for the moment.

(Yeah, I think it brings him down to 7 if he skipped a turn and Tom went and it's his turn again. Maybe I should invent an effect stacking system so that all those )

Once again the sword didn't work against the goblin due to it's higher defense it was just too old of a blade to cut much of anything anymore. The goblin felt the sword stab his head and leave a third purple blotch on it. The goblin was once again poisoned, unfortunately the sword didn't pierce his cranium or skin. The flame's on the goblin's skin died down, but left him a crispy brown color. Before doing anything the goblin felt a wave of pain come over him and was dealt two damage, being penalized for having not fought like a good monster should. The goblin felt blade Tom was holding on his forehead stepped around to his side and in a frenzied state kicked at Tom.
--
Outcome:

Goblin's attack will be doing 5 damage to Tom.

Goblin's Health: 7
Tom's Health (Once attack hits): 8
Fire Spirit's Health: 10

The Goblin did not see it coming but tried to turn around and stop it when it felt something hot slam into the back of its head. Thanks to the fact that no stats had changed it took seven damage, far too much for it to continue to stand, and fell over. The goblin had been defeated!

From the Goblin's pockets fell three bones and 300 gold coins.

Tom Random gains fifty experience points for himself and his summoned creature.

There are now 19 goblins left in "The Pillaged Farmlands", please take care of them.

(When you fight or mention stats please take into account all of them.)

While Kaliska checked her stats a goblin was stumbling around chasing a rabbit. The rabbit though managed to slip under a log and escape though. The goblin though still was hungry and raised its head and looked around.
--
Perception Check:

Goblin's 20 Perception vs. Kaliska's 0 Perception
--
The Goblin clearly saw Kaliska and waited to see what she would do. It was a smarter goblin and not about to charge in recklessly. That girl carried something huge with her as the blade looked somewhere between 5-6 ft. long. Could it close the gap in time and not die? Probably not, but it was worth the try once the elf girl tried to do something against him. She looked pretty fast, but the thing on her back was huge so it must be more than capable of slowing her down significantly.

(All right... BleedingCrimson, I've had the goblin wait so please take the time to make an agility check the next turn. Your weapon I know is the most ridiculous in the game thus far, but as far as PVP goes, if we do start implementing that sooner or later I don't want people dying right off that bat. Well, not against the hacker if GamerX does have her attack a few people with her hacked stats. Of course, that said, I'm sure I can work out some reasonable stuff. I'm going to maybe go ahead soon and make some changes to the system itself.)

Agility Check:

Goblin's Agility: 20 vs. Kaliska's Agility: 0 (Due to Dangerous Zanbatou)

Goblin succeeds.
--
The goblin's stats were indeed better than Kaliska's by a whole lot. It charged Kaliska and sent two punches straight into her face seemingly before she could react.
--
In another area of the Pillaged Farm Lands a different goblin walked around looking for someone to take plunder from. He put his clawed hand to his forehead and peeked around squinting as he looked out over the horizon.
--
Perception Check:

Goblin's Perception: 20 vs. Markus Rilest's Perception of: 27
--

Unfortunately, he missed Tom Random and Markus Rilest due to poor eyesight and a terrible heat stroke. The goblin went back to jingling a bag of coins that it had stolen from another player mere hours ago. This player was not of much importance, but the wickedness of the monsters surely was. They had the capability to decide whether to do things like steal, kidnap, or simply leave people where they lay.

The goblin continued to jingle it's bag of stolen coins as it flipped over a cow at its feet and tore into it with a clawed hand. It laughed to itself and did not see Markus, nor Tom approaching it. All would go well for Markus and Tom if they played their cards right and could sneak attack it.

(Hm... I'm not sure how to determine if it dodges the attack or not. Since I haven't figured out such a mechanic quite yet I'm going to let it get hit. I need to work on some of the game mechanics as previously said.)

The goblin continued to mess around with cow and its bag of coins it jingled them as it bit into the flesh of the cow it had torn off. While it did this it did not notice the spider at all.
--
Outcome:

Goblin takes damage and is stunned.
--
The spider exploded and sent the goblin flying up into the air. It came crashing down onto the ground and suffered five damage.

(Hey, Nothing, the order of battle actually is The Goblin, Tom Random, His Fire Spirit, and then Markus because its 20 agility versus 13, 5, and 3 agility respectively. Therefore Marcus goes last. Don't worry though, your team has one thing the Goblin doesn't have attack opportunities. You might be able to kill it in one to two turns thanks to the fact that you can poison it, then hit it with fireballs, and finally Markus can fire on it. This is one suggested tactic for now. Markus has had the opportunity to damage it though.)

The goblin looked around as it stood up and after having received the attack from Markus knew that he and Tom had attacked him. It growled at them before charging. It's day had been ruined!

Goblin

Attack: 20
Defense: 20
Agility: 20
Perception: 20
Health: 20
Magic: 0

Agility Check:

Goblin's Agility: 20 vs. Tom Random's Agility: 13 vs. Fire' Spirit's Agility: 5 vs. Markus's Agility: 3

Outcome: Goblin goes first, Tom Random second, Fire Spirit third, and Markus fourth.
--
The Goblin charged the two of them and was very upset. He aimed for Tom's fire spirit and attacked with two its twice clawed hands.
--
Goblin's Agility: 20 vs. Fire Spirit's Agility: 5

Goblin may attack twice.
--
Hopefully, the fire spirit would survive but that factor was truly an unknown. Tom would need to see how much damage his spirit received.

(Remember for this to take into account the Goblin's ability to attack twice and the fact that in our last battle it was able to critical hit. I think thanks to this the goblin actually does twenty five damage and I didn't calculate right last battle on that part because 20-10 attack compared to defense leaves it with 10 damage. This means it's a critical hit because there's a clear ten numerical difference so add ten and that equals twenty. Then there's a second attack which is 20-10= 10, but thanks to the fact a second attack is weaker than the first this one actually equals 15. I'm not going to apply a second critical to a second attack because that would equal out to 25.)

(The final outcome of your damage though is 25.)

Nearby, while the other two were fighting, Kaliska was fighting her own battle.

Suddenly words appeared in mid air and lightening struck down in front of where Tom and the others were.

Note: I am thinking of measures to revamp the combat system. I will try to keep it mostly the same, but all characters at this point and time will gain automatic victories if they are in combat. For now please wait until I finish this process.

The fright of Tom Random suddenly summoning up a Skeleton Warrior and the lightening gave the goblin such a fright it had a heart attack and died on the spot.
--
The goblin on Kaliska's end saw the anger in her eyes as well as the lightening that struck down in Tom Random's area and also died of fright on the spot. It was quite a surprise probably for both parties who actually probably weren't too far from one another.

All right... For now everyone gets rewards on the house. Please go to the places tab to see what a goblin gives out. I've got to go and start fixing the battle system.- The Adminstrator

Unfortunately, no one would have the chance to fight any goblins. A server update was apparently about to happen, at least in their area.
