Sophia Helina

I will be out of the area before your body hits the floor.

0 · 484 views · located in Dark Castle

a character in “Hero's Squall”, as played by GamerX

Description

ImageIn-game appearances is to the left. Real life looks are to the right.
Name: Sophia Helina
Real life age: Even though people swear she is still a teenager Sophia is actually 26.
Game character's age: People estimate around 25 so Sophia just goes with that.
Class: Assassin
Gender: Female
In-game name: GalletaImage

Personality

Sophia is definitely tsundere in real life. Many would call her cold and cruel, harsh with words, and quick to scold someone for the smallest of things. However, she is actually
really nice if you ask those that have taken the time to get to know her. Anyone would guess that her poor and hard upbringing is most of the cause in her distant attitude towards others; though in the end it taught her a lot about being self-reliant in everything she does.

Her character in-game has its own personality however. Some might even say Sophia is being her true self with a smidgen of her tsundere attitude draining down to add some mystery and merciless power. Even though Galleta seems like a flirtatious woman with a slightly motherly side, finding this assassin may prove to be more difficult than most would think. Many times Galleta is seen and an attempt at following her is made. However, just when you think you cornered her she either comes up behind with a blade in your back or simply seems to have vanished into thin air. Some call her a ghost, a few a myth, and others a god.....Which is truly best to describe this majestic assassin? Well she leaves that up to the players and creators to decide.

Effects
Prevents the wearer from being affected by airborne (i.e. smoke, mist, ect) effects.

Items in bag/usable items:
Poison Smoke Bomb (optional shrapnel)
The smoke from the bomb causes those afflicted to lose 15% of total health over the next two posts. Only works upon inhalation. Area of effect (aka AOE) is 20 yards. Activates upon impact. If there is any shrapnel it does 20 damage with an AOE of 10 yards.

Toxic Smoke Bomb (optional shrapnel)
The smoke from this bomb causes those affected to become paralyzed for 1 post. Works upon skin contact. AOE is 20 yards. Activates with either a fuse or tripwire. Tripwire can only be seen with 200 Perception, the one that sets it (and those in the same party) may see it at all times. If there is any shrapnel it does 20 damage with an AOE of 10 yards.

De-buff smoke bomb (optional shrapnel)
This bomb halves all stats of those afflicted for 3 posts as well as slows their movement speed for 4 posts. Also it drains 20% of total MPV per post for 3 posts. AOE is 20 yards. If there is any shrapnel it does 20 damage with an AOE of 10 yards.

Smoke Bomb (optional shrapnel)
The smoke from this bomb has no effect to the characters other than eliminating vision while it stays active. AOE 40 yards. Can be activated with impact, fuse, or tripwire.
Tripwire requires 200 Perception to be seen, the one that set it (and those in the same party) may see it at all times. If there is any shrapnel it does 30 damage with an AOE of
20 yards, or 20 damage with an AOE of 30 yards. Shrapnel damage does not increase for moving targets.

Health Potion
Gives 60% of total health to the one this is used on.

Mana Ption
Gives 50% of total mana to the one this is used on.

Throwing Knives
If from the front hit chance is decided by using combined agility and perception levels; if the difference is 15 or more and there is a successful hit then critical is applied. If the opponent is not facing the direction the knife is coming from then the target must have 20 Perception over the thrower's agility to know it is coming; if the target does not realize it is coming they must have 20 more Agility points to avoid critical. Also, if the knife comes from behind the target must have 30 Perception and 25 Agility higher than the thrower's agility to completely dodge the knife. Damage is based on user's agility against opponents defense, critical is not decided in damage calculation step but one of the 2 previous ones instead.

Stats:
What everyone in the game sees and what a Copy Cat copies:
Level: 20
Stats: (Points gained over time: 100 + (19 * 25) = 575)
Attack: 101 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 165 (equipment bonus) = 268
Defense: 90 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 200 (equipment bonus) = 288
Agility: 101 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 115 (equipment bonus) = 218
Perception: 101 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 210 (equipment bonus) = 323
Magic: 90 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 140 (equipment bonus) = 228
Health: 92 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 65 (equipment bonus) = 155
Magic Point Value: 228 (Magic stat) + (20 * 5) = 328

What it actually is due to hacking:
Level: 200
Stats: (Points gained over time: 100 + (199 * 25) = 5,075)
Attack: 848 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 330 (equipment bonus) = 1180
Defense: 843 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 400 (equipment bonus) = 1241
Agility: 848 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 230 (equipment bonus) = 1080
Perception: 848 (base) + 2 (class bonus) + 420 (equipment bonus) = 1270
Magic: 843 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 280 (equipment bonus) = 1121
Health: 845 (base) - 2 (class bonus) + 130 (equipment bonus) = 973
Magic Point Value: 1121 (Magic stat)+ (200 * 5) = 2121

Skills/Abilities: (Anything marked with a * is something that Sophia created via hacking to make things easier for herself and cannot be copied by the Copy Cat class.)
Passive: (Always active; no costs required)
Sixth sense: This allows the user to detect others within 100 yards but not able to distinguish between hostiles and friendlies. At 50 yards the user can recognize if the opponent is getting ready to attack or not and if they are focusing on the user or not. Hostiles are indicated with red arrows, friendlies are marked with blue circles, and unknowns are grey teardrop marks pointing to the person. When looking in the direction of the marker the person is highlighted with the corresponding color. Requires 120 Perception.
Assassin class only.

*Double Stat Boost: All stat boosts gained from items are doubled.

*Read-out: Upon looking at a player, admin, or creature Sophia can tell exactly what will be dropped upon death and what will not. It also gives complete information of the stats and if they have been modified. Base stats and stat boosts are also displayed. Item information such as supply/demand, store sell/buy price, street sell/buy price, and predicted prices for the next 3 months can also be accessed. All information can be looked at piece by piece or many at one time. By using this information Sophia can tell how reasonably fast the player should die to make it seem like she has not hacked the game as well as if it is even worth the time to do so.

*PvP stat adjustment: When fighting in PvP Sophia's actual stats lower to 250 or 30 above her opponent's corresponding/counterpart (i.e. attack/defense, agility, perception) stat; whichever is higher is what it is set to. This adds to the illusion of having not hacked the game. Health is the one that never changes, although what everyone (other than Sophia) sees inflicted to Galleta is altered to be proportionally correct.

Poison making: The user can make poisons. The poison can be in liquid or solid forms. Effects vary between damage over time (aka DoT), temporary paralysis, magic point value (MPV) drain, and temporary stat drains. In the liquid forms it can vary in thickness to allow it to coat blades or other points to being the same consistency as water. Require Assassin class and 25 Perception.

Bomb making: The user can create smoke, shrapnel, flash, and sound based bombs. In addition the user can add in poisons or potions for additional effects.

Rapid restore: Recovers from DoT effects 3 times faster than normal.

Activated: (Activated for one time instant effect; one time cost that varies in amount)
Mark of Death: Although nothing actually happens to the target, the user can use this ability to locate the target within 200 yards. Once the target moves 300 yards away Mark
of Death loses its effect. In order to use this one must have a total of 50 Perception. One time activation cost of 10 MPV.

Lacerate: The user makes a swift cut on crucial points of the opponent's body causing them to lose 5% of maximum health every post the target makes. The duration is 10% of the afflicted person's health rounded down. Minimum duration is 2 posts. In order to use this one must have a total of 30 Perception.

*Advanced Teleport: Once activated Sophia can have her character teleport to any location she desires to go. When arriving at her desired location Assassin in plain sight is
active right away.

Sustained: (Toggled on or off; costs vary)
Assassin in plain sight: When active the user's Perception is multiplied by 3. Attacking automatically turns this skill off. If this skill is activated then other boosts to Perception via skills are negated for the duration. Also while this is active the player cannot be seen on any minimap. MPV is reduced to a maximum of 10 while active.

Assassin Stealth: While active the user's Perception is multiplied by 2.5 and their maximum damage is 30% of the normal. Upon dealing damage this skill is deactivated. Activating this skill removes all other skill boosts. Uses 15 MPV per post.

History

Sophia grew up in one of the worst parts of the city as a child. Her father, David, was an abusive drunk (to both Sophia and her mother) that ended up drinking himself to death by the time Sophia was 11. Her mother, Jenell, never did anything to stop the abuse and even cried when David died. Jenell blamed Sophia for David's death and, for all Sophia knows, still does. In order to pay the rent and put food on the table Jenell had to resort to prostitution. As far as anyone outside the apartment room ever knew Sophia was home schooled. This, however, was not the case as Sophia had never seen anything related to school ever come in the front door.

Sophia was very bright despite this and taught herself programming and hacking while her mother was not home. Upon reaching age 16 Sophia was a freelance programmer for small companies that later built off of her ideas and started to make millions in profit. Her only charge was $100 per 5 gigabytes of programming. When Sophia turned 18
she moved out from her mother and never spoke to the woman again. Sophia got her own computer and paid in cash for everything she paid for, including the game called
Hero's Squal.

Sophia started the game when it the first day it came out. On her first day of playing she started out not hacking but still reached level 20 within hours of playing non-stop. After that she went for something more challenging.....hacking the creators of Hero's Squall. Sophia drained all the money they had and gave various problems in the game itself. Even though Sophia did this she had no plans of really holding the game and its player hostage. In fact she made a program to wire money from the money she took from the creators to keep the funding going.

This still wasn't enough for Sophia so she decided to hack her stats and skills to make her invincible. In addition she made it so that anyone that looked at her character would only see a normal level 20 Assassin class female character named Galleta.

While playing she started to help other players occasionally, but when someone tried to follow Galleta they would lose track of her in a dead end hallway. Thanks to this many rumors and nicknames came up about her. She was called things like a god by those that teamed up with her; a ghost by those that have only tried to follow her; and from those that had never seen her before, a myth. However, when the admins looked in on the character called Galleta they only found a someone maximizing the use of a level 20 assassin. Nothing about Galleta or the player, Sophia, seemed suspicious.

So begins...

"No worries, Striker and I won't be fighting any time soon," Galleta said to her assistant before turning to Striker. "Although I have some quick business to take care go ahead and bring your computer over and we can play while eating dinner."

"Sounds like fun. I'll be right over." Right after saying that Striker logged off, her character vanishing from the world of Hero's Squall.

"Lucretai, for now go about your own business. I'll give you a message in time when preparations are more complete for the next phase." With that Galleta started off towards the Castle Road. Although, as expected of those that know who she is, Galleta teleported off to where she wanted to go. Considering the direction she was facing at the time just about anyone could guess where she was headed.

Lucretia waved her off quickly and disappeared from the game. As little as she knew about Sophia's full plans she understood that they now controlled an area in the game called the Dark Castle. She had kind of wished they had taken over a more pleasant sounding place, but she supposed when the time came it would be an excellent place for mounting attacks and harassing players. She wasn't into the whole military tactics things. That was what boys were normally interested in, but the NPC in control of the castle, Commander Taurus, still scared her even though she was actually a much higher level than him now. For that reason she clung close to Sophia and his assistant NPC Karena Wix.

The one thought that went through her head was, "What were those two NPCs up to?"

Back in the real world Cathrine was getting her laptop ready to head next door to Sophia's place. "Power cord...check....wireless mouse and keyboard...check....external hard drive...check....headset...check....personalized controller...check. Okay it seems I have everything ready." After her final look over of everything she would be taking Cathrine carefully gathered everything into a bag and headed out the door. The sun was bright after not being out all day until now, but this didn't bother the blue haired girl. After looking down to the parking lot of the second story apartment Cathrine went one door over and went inside the room without knocking.

As soon as Cathrine walked inside and closed the door Sophia looked up, already starting on her first plate. "Go ahead and set-up everything like usual. The spaghetti noddles are in the strainer in the sink and the sauce is on the stove. You know where the plates and forks are so help yourself." Even though Sophia made all these movements her character on the screen didn't mimic them. Out of everyone Cathrine was the only one that knew Sophia could control the character and do something completely different in real life. Then again with how much game time Sophia had either she had people doing things for her or she was on way too much. Among those of Hero's Squall no one other than the one known as Striker knew much, if anything, about the player controlling the one known as Galleta.

"I know the drill Sophie, I've been here before after all." Cathrine sighed as she put her stuff down and started to set it all up. Once her laptop and other equipment was ready she went over and got a plate of spaghetti. A medium amount of noodles and a splash of sauce and the meat that was in it. "So what is your big plan this time?"

"My big plan you ask? Well if I told you now that would ruin all the fun." Sophia said with a grin, which as far as Cathrine knew, meant something big was going to happen.

Galleta appeared within the castle's walls via teleport, and quickly removed her Assassin in plain sight skill. Her coming to the castle was a signal to Karena and Taurus that things were going to be moving ahead as planned before. Although these two were NPC's Galleta gave them AI's without the notice of anyone in the game. As far as both the players and creators knew they were still the typical NPC that you could fight and kill even though they seemed to be a bit bugged with their actions. However, in actuality this was the guise Galleta planned to lower suspicion on her movements a great deal. Thanks to everything that they had done Galleta was ready to move into the next phase of her plan. "Karena," Galleta called out as she made her way to the entrance to the second floor, "keep anyone that comes busy for a good while."

Galleta didn't even wait for a response before heading to the second floor. "Okay time to get things ready for the fun," Galleta said to herself as she started to prevent anyone from gaining accesses to the second floor of the castle and creating a surefire escape route for herself only. Next Galleta pulled up a message that would be sent to all the players from an unknown source. The only information they were given was where exactly the message was sent from; in other words the back of the second floor in the Dark Castle.

Dear players and creators of Hero's Squall,
As I am sure many of you are aware there is a rumor about a hacker. I would like to tell you that that rumor is in fact true. In fact I, the one writing this message, am the hacker. Now I am sure many of you are wondering something like "what is your username" or " who are you". Well I am sorry to say but that information will not be disclosed at this time.
However, if you wish to challenge me come to the second floor of the Dark Castle, if you can, and see how well you fare in a fight. Although be careful as if you lose, you are risking more than some experience.
Though don't think it will be easy since I will also keep training until someone can manage to make it to me. Have fun and good luck.
P.S. To Mr. Admin of Hero's Squall: If you or any other person under the Hero's Squall company wishes to get to me you must have more than you and you employees to get here. Those extra people must be regular players and must get through both floors solo. If they can do that then maybe you will have a chance against me.

Galleta made the message above and sent it to everyone in Hero's Squall, player and creator alike. The message was sent to herself as well, after all they can't figure out who sent it by who didn't get it that way. The only thing that anyone had to go off of was that the sender was in the Dark Castle. Any other information beyond that and what was within it was impossible for anyone to obtain. On top of that the message couldn't be replied to even if someone wanted to do so.

Karena heard Galletta walk in and say to continue guarding the front entrance. She opened one light orange eye slowly and saw her walk off towards the second floor though without much of a greeting.

"Ungrateful woman..." Karena thought to herself as she watched Galletta go, "She gives us AI but doesn't even treat us with proper respect. Though I guess I can understand that since she can kill someone like me within a heartbeat, however, I have no doubt her rude coming has stirred the archers up outside." Reaching out with the limited dark powers and perception Karena had as an NPC she felt some of the archers on the wooden barricade move around outside.

"Yes, they are stirred up... I can sense it, but only because Galletta has yet to give us a proper order.
--
Meanwhile on the second floor while Galletta was sending out her message a gruff looking bald man in red armor walked up behind her and said, "What are you doing human wench? Are you finally letting me move my troops instead of letting silly, displaced goblins kill and slaughter the people of these lands?"

Normally, the man speaking to her Commander Taurus did not talk this roughly to her this roughly, but Galletta had yet to use his army properly against more players than those who risked coming here on an occasional basis.

Galleta looked over to Commander Taurus with a grin, "We are going to be having lots of company I suspect. After all I just sent a worldwide message inviting them to do so. Although, just for some added fun let's send out some knights to greet the Castle Road, Wooden Barricade, and if you want the closer edge of the Grassy Field. Also take this." Galleta pulled out a scroll and handed it to Commander Taurus. "Within that is a decent sized war strategy upgrade pack. Using this will greatly aid to the fun, after all normally the NPC knights shouldn't be highly organized. With that they will be and that can help in our goal."

Galleta the took a seat in the back of the room, "Now the fun begins. Do well here and both you and Karena will be rewarded pleasantly."

Commander Taurus took the scroll from Galleta and pocketed it. "You know I've been thinking you sent out the message world wide, but the sender is anonymous, so why don't I take the fall for you and say I sent out the message after becoming a rogue and infected NPC, and that I nor my companions know you." Commander Taurus suggested, "All you have to do is revive me if I die somehow and make me twenty of your player levels stronger. On another note, what will we be able to do with this strategy upgrade pack? I have a few knights already wandering around some of the areas in the game, but not in large numbers I feel."
