Maximo is a man of many tastes, and yet he considers himself to be a rather frugal person. His voice is calm and therapeutic, and he emanates a warm, amiable vibe, one that envelopes others. He finds it easy to put himself in another's shoes, and can persuade most anyone with his calm, rational thinking. In times of great need Maximo has been sought out as a good adviser of all things, his education in philosophy often leaves him wandering but he comes to he often delivers wise words to those in need. He is helpful, charitable, and utmost of all a leading role model if not just slightly out of touch with other people. One thing people love to tease him about is how he can act so adorably blissful to the things around him. In the end, most people believe that there couldn't have been a better man chosen to lead the House of Sanctum.

8:32am Monday
Stabs of orange sunlight peeked in the horizon above Atelier beloved manor, and with it, probably came the busiest its streets had ever been. In a homely city such as this, having an influx of people was practically unheard of, and it was difficult to grow accustomed to seeing people you’d never met, when the entire town knew one another by heart. For them it was almost like an omen, their relatively peaceful lives suddenly thwarted by the presence of foreigners, not that the so called ‘House of Sanctum’ was in another country, but that they were slowly losing their solidarity to that of those who would be taking residence in Ivory Tower. It seemed for the most part that this change was unwelcomed, but they could only witness as the beautiful town by the countryside and sea would be transformed, watch as the gates to the Manor opened, and their routines changed.

Maximo guaranteed that this was the stance that most of the townspeople had taken upon himself, after all much of the same events had occurred in his native Chile’. Here he hoped that instead, the change would not be looked at with negativity, in his eyes change usually led to the metamorphosis of individuals. As so, he believed that the participants of the Genome project who would walk into those doors were the bravest, tackling an unwarranted transformation In their genetic code by coming here, training themselves, bettering themselves, to show that they were worthy to live in society and not be ridiculed, or attacked.

Watching as the courtyard filled with awaiting students, Max found it within himself to gather his jacket and leave the room to greet the oncoming crowd, just like he was told to do by Francine. It wasn’t as if she typically ordered him around, only that it was easy for him to forget to do the simplest of things at the most crucial of times. If he didn’t do it by the time he went up to introduce himself to the majority of the residents they wouldn’t recognize him, and there was much better matters to occupy himself with other than sitting in a dusty, archaic office. He walked a little ways into the many corridors of the Manor and found that the young residents had already found places to explore within. He greeted them politely and moved ahead, even shaking the hands of those who went out of their way to greet him and make personal amends. At some point he found himself in the Main Hall of the entire establishment as groups seemed to pour in, basking in the ether of the excitement of being here, or at the majesty of the location. He couldn’t lie either, the Manor had a type of ethereal beauty to it, that was only added on to by some other buildings outside of the parameters of where everyone was heading.

Around the school, post boards indicated that students would need to head to the Dining Hall after securing their luggage with personal staff stationed outside the school for formal announcements, it was then that Maximo was reminded that it was his job to make that announcement too, while Francine on the other hand found herself in the Mentor’s Lounge, ready to give the new instructors their heads up on what to expect of their new jobs. While that thought continued to linger in mind, he continued to wave and shake hands, introducing himself to others, and hopefully setting a decent example.

Francine found herself admittedly anxious about the entirety of running this program, with her and Maximo at the head of a giant behemoth of a challenge. What could they possibly invoke in these young students, she couldn’t figure out herself, but it wasn’t as if she would go out without at least trying something. When she was contacted to take this job, it was something she didn’t expect to make her feel as queasy as she did now seeing all the litters of students walking into the Main Building. At that point she had a stone cold grip of her coffee mug, and was taking more sips out of the hot brew than she cared to count, she just hoped her composure would maintain enough to address the Mentors who should have been in that Lounge any minute from now. Even as she leaned against the opposite counter, her mind started to fill with all the things that could possibly go wrong, and all the organizations who would undoubtedly feel the need to cast a negative light on what they were doing here. Worst yet, who knows what type of lives these students endured because of the complications of their powers. In that sense it made her feel more obliged to stay strong as a leader by Maximo's side, not to mention her longtime friend must have been feeling some of this anxiety, right?

Lost in her thought she continued to sip her coffee slowly, whilst looking out the window, hoping that something would break this strange concentration she had on the upcoming months and its challenges.

“Chauffeurs and all hm?” Randall question the driver from the back of the Bentley, despite being rather terse with him when hi parents explained that he was being sent away, they still had to pamper their little boy, or at least make it look like to the media that he was still within arm’s length of their guidance after that little stunt at the party. Not that he minded, for all of his infallible confidence, he felt his heart drop slightly when his parents packed his belongings and gave him the old swift kick in the head (figuratively) for his behavior. Which consisted of them sitting across from one another in the living room, and talking in a rather disappointed tone. Surprisingly this time, they didn’t offer him anything to keep himself out of trouble or occupied. For this he felt admittedly relieved, like he desperately sought to be guided towards a future brighter than an eventual mid-life crisis. For that he was thankful for his powers, the fact that it took some type of supernatural occurrence for his parents to finally see the cry for help in-between it all. Well, he wouldn’t call it that, but he couldn’t put another name to the incident that nearly took his life and others. RJ lit the tip of his index finger up as he brought a cigarette to his lips, and swiped the finger right at the end of it to light it. The Chauffeur glanced at him the driver’s mirror once, before RJ already had a nice stack of money for the man, part of the allowance his parents had given him, and the fortune he could already procure whenever he needed. The Chauffeur cleared his throat before expressing his gratitude by tipping his hat. “Next time, not in the Bentley Mr. Leighton.”

Randall chuckled at that as he tipped his cigarette out of the passenger’s window, letting a few drops of ash hit the ground as they pulled up to the manor. Before he could have his own door opened for him, RJ opened his in a bit of excitement. Looking out at the place he would call home for a little while. Maybe here he could learn how to turn his body to fire without his clothing being burnt to nothingness; in fact, it was all he could think about learning before actually getting to Ivory Tower. Stepping out of the car, he could smell the overabundance of nature that surrounded the Manor itself, smells of which reminded him of his grandparents’ home In the country, in that sense he felt a wave of nostalgia run up his spine before his Chauffeur grunted for him to carry what he could out of the 5 luggage bags that had been packed for him, he grasped two, while the Chauffeur went for the rest. With that RJ strolled his way around the crowds in the Yard, watching the potential of ‘Genomes’ or at least that’s what the media all called them. Some of them already took it upon themselves to display their powers, and others simply tried to find a place to head to.

Upon entering the facility, he found himself enamored with the architecture, no doubt in his mind that smoking was most likely prohibited, but it wasn’t as if he’d take his pack off his person if he was going to be here for a year or more. That reminded him of just how long would he stay, he was told that anyone could leave as soon as they felt they were able to pass an examination that would provide them the convenience of rejoining society. Lest their powers release again, the Brit found that hard it hard to believe, that if he felt like it, he could simply mention that he wanted to take the exam and leave by next week or something, maybe he misread the Pamphlet when he arrived, he couldn't put his finger on it, not that his stomach started to growl, and the Dining Hall was all but a few feet away from where he was standing.

With any further distraction he wanders into line, picking a few vital breakfast items, and sitting at a table alone. Hopefully, that wouldn't be the norm for the rest of the year should he decide to stay, but he figured with his charm, who wouldn’t want to sit next to him? He pulls out another cigarette and puts in his mouth as he begins to peel an orange he grabbed from the ala carte line, though he’s careful not to light it.

When light passes through our atmosphere, photons interact with it through scattering. If the light does not interact with the atmosphere, it is called direct radiation and is what you see if you were to look directly at the Sun. Indirect radiation is light that has been scattered in the atmosphere.

So many little interesting things for her to research, and so little time. Raina had no idea just why she brought up Wikipedia on her phone, but ever since a few weeks ago she wanted to know everything she could about her powers, every little piece of information counted towards something grander she believed. While at first, she was frightened by her powers, naturally her curiosity got the best of her and at most she could control it to cool down hot meals and drinks, but anything other than that and the whole place could turn into a whirlwind. She found this out the hard way when her meticulously ordered room was torn apart by a category 1 mini-tornado last weekend, at that point she resigned herself to learning more about her power at the House of Sanctum.

While she had already settled into the beautiful Manor, she found herself already missing the comfort of her parents small apartment, she knew where everything was but in this case there was so much to explore and so little time. Yet, it made what she would call a boring existence, actually quite lovely, seeing powers displayed like magic tricks made her wish she had nearly as much control over her powers as the others. It wasn’t jealousy as much as it was inferiority, and she couldn’t remember the last time anyone found a power like Aerokinesis as useful as others powers, in that sense it brought her a tiny bit of shame, but there might have been more to learn if she wasn’t so quick to dismiss her abilities.

All of this was going on in the girls mind as she sat in the Dining Hall staring at the Home screen of her phone, trying to look like that she was doing something, but in essence was just over-thinking the entire situation like she was prone to do. She pushed back a strand of her hair that had fallen over her face, and found that the Hall was filling quickly as students got the memo from posters strewn around the place. At that point she took a bit out of her now cold muffin, and stared around at the students who looked just as normal as she did. ”I mean most of us look so normal that I don’t see why we couldn’t live in society if we knew how to control our powers…” she thought to herself.
