Manami Yukimura's Story

Manami stood in the Main Enterence in awe of the buildings design. It was so fancy then what she saw back home in Japan. She was carrying her single bag filled with clothes and school supples. She wasn't too familiar with living on her own, but she was determinded to manage and get through the years. She only knew a little English, but the school was said to have students from almost everywhere. She was worried she wouldn't make much friends, plus she wasn't the brightest at the school. She was at the minimum of the grade scores, so she barely got in. She sat down in the Courtyard, lost in thought.

(Since no one has posted a character for a week, I'll make this a one on one roleplay)

Koichi saw the buildings and looked at them with awe. He was formerly an foreign exchange student in the Netherlands for about a year. The year after, he decided to take his learning experience to France. Because of those learning experiences from being an exchange student in the Netherlands and France, he speaks Dutch and French with ease but he still needs to take the classes for the graduation requirement. Koichi knew some English but not much. The school had a lot of students from around the world. Koichi was a bit worried that he wouldn't make that much friends due to the language barrier between them but he did see a green-haired girl in the courtyard. Koichi came up to her and sat down next to her saying "You got in to the academy too?" Koichi said to her.

She looked over at the boy who just sat down next to her. She turned to him, and smiled. She nodded, then spoke. "Manami, it's nice to meet you." She said said holding out her hand to the boy. "I came today. How about you?" She spoke in a very thick Japanese accent, so it was a bit hard to understand her english. She did not recongnize his accent, but did her best to understand and talk to him. She looked back at the scenery and stared up at the clouds.

"Nice to meet you too, I'm Koichi Sanada" Koichi said to Manami as he shook her hand. " I came here today also" Koichi said in a thick mixture of a Dutch and Japanese accent. "So, looks like we have orientation soon, we have half-an hour left" Koichi said to Manami. "What classes are you taking, Manami" Koichi said to her. Koichi now checked the time, it was 8:00 A.M in good old New York.

She pulled a piece of paper that had her classes on them. "I think I have english first, modern world history second, then italian, and quantum physics. How about you, Koichi" She asked putting the paper back into her small blue bag. "Do you have a map of the school. I dropped mine, and I get lost a lot." She said a little embarresed.

Koichi pulled out an extra copy of the school map, "Here you go, I have an extra"

"My classes, I have, Quantum Physics, Music Production, U.S History, English 7-8, Advanced Turntablism, French, Dutch" Koichi added "Even though I have a lot of classes, Music Production, Advanced Turntablism and Dutch don't give a lot of homework when I heard from the teachers."

"Well, since its the 1st day of school, I guess we don't have much to do but talk for a half-hour" Koichi said to Manami

Manami laughed. "The school has students from almost everywhere, right. Where are you from?" She asked. She was trying not to pry, but she was a little bit curious with his half Japanese and half Dutch accent. "You can probaly tell where I'm from." She said with a small laugh.

"Well, I'm Japanese by heart but actually, I was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to my mom who's Japanese and my dad who is half French and half Dutch" Koichi said. Koichi laughed and said to Manami "Yeah, Japanese, it's a bit obvious" he chuckled

Manami was about to say something, but her cell phone started ringing. She turned around to face her purse, and pulled out the blue phone. She turned back to Koichi, and looked down at the phone. The caller I.D read the name 'Daichi'.
"Sorry, Koichi-san. Bye bye." She says before grabbing her bags and answered the phone. "Moshimoshi." She says to the other person on the phone. Her smile faded when the other person started talking. She started speaking in Japanese to the other person. As she talked, she got an angry tone. She yelled somthing in Japanese to the phone, and hung up.

"Oh, OK, then, I'll see you again" Koichi said to Manami. As he was walking to the gym where orientation was starting, he couldn't help but overhear the angry tone that Manami was using as she was yelling at her phone. It was most likely an ex-boyfriend but he didn't want to go deep into that thought. Instead, he went into the huge auditorium and awaited for the orientation to start
