Feudal Japan Inuyasha's world

two small Fox tykes leap from tree to tree two twin brothers who where instructed to scout ahead for any danger such as Kooji's forces. However mission that " the big boss'' as they referred to them was strange them '' seek out the hafe demon Inuyahsa. what kinda of nonsense is this.'' one said to the other. '' I thought demon kind had basically washed its hands of him. After all he married a human just as everyone thought.'' the other replies '' but there orders form the Big boss. and where obligated to do as he says he taught us everything we know brother.'' after awhile they catch sight of Rin strolling through the forest they stop on a branch. '' look there brother looks like we found us a customer.'' one of them smirks evil like. '' A customer ?'' questions the other. the smirking one smacks his brother over the head. '' of cource you idiot a customer the Big Boss didn't say we couldn't prank someone on our way did he.'' the other one smiles running the back of his head '' no...no he didn't....did he ?'' Fox tyke rolls his eyes '' seriously its no wonder mother left us. just get you stuff ready we'll jump on three'' the both place leaves on there foreheads as accustom for preforming fox magic

Rin had found a nice patch of flowers to pick, even though she was a grown woman this was one of her favorite things, she also knew that if Setsuna and Junpei knew if she were out without an escort they would have a fit. But Rin just wanted to be by herself right now. She sat down in the midst of the patch of flowers taking in their lovely scent and colors. It was simple things like this that were in danger, it was things like this that Koojii wanted to destroy. She started to chain the flowers as she sat, she used do this lots of times when she was younger. She would often times give them to Sesshomaru without much of a reaction form but he always accepted her small gifts. She had often wondered how the dog demon had put up with such a silly little girl following him around everywhere and trying to help him when he didn't even need it. Rin stopped for a moment when she thought she had heard some rustling but when she didn't see anything she just shrugged and went back to her childish project.

"Yes, let us leave this place, its stench of lesser demons burns my nose in such a distasteful way." Sesshōmaru spake at Naraku without even bothering to look at him. His aristocratic nature seemed to purify the fog of miasma at his feet--crackling and dissipating the corrupting force around him with pure, raw yōkai energy. Sesshōmaru simply waded through the poisonous vapors. His yōkai energy was one of the main reasons why Naraku could not simply absorb him.

"Inuyasha, go back to the village and alert them of Narakus arrival. We don't want our guest swallowing any of his own men and thinking he can surprise us."

'' 1....2.......3 ........CHARGE '' yell they twin fox demon tykes the both Poof into more fierce looking demons and Both jump outta the Tree. Each taking flanking positions around Rin. '' Alright Lil Human girl give us anything you have valuable, Lets not make this get ugly now hehehe'' says the one behind her. " Yeah what he said, I think that neckless of your will do nicely.'' they both take a step toward her.

"Yeah, Yeah keep your panties on", said Inuyasha as he dashed away towards the house. He didn't mind at all he really wanted to get as much space as possible between him and Naraku. "Dammit this deal keeps on getting worse and worse", soon the house was in sight but Inuyasha stopped, and sniffed the air, "What the hell", he sniffed again. "That little sneaky pain in the ass", Inuyasha growled, "When I find you I'm gonna rip that little fluffy tail right off".

Rin just blinked for a minute, did these two realize that their disguises weren't very good one of them still had a fox ear and the other still had part of his fox tail hanging out. But she decided to play along, "Oh no, but I can't take this necklace off if I do I will die", she said with a sigh. She was actually telling the truth that is exactly what Sesshomaru's mother had said to her when she gave her the amulet.

" wah.....umm you can't.....are you sure well maybe we can work something out y'know.'' says one. the other one slaps him in the back of the head '' Grrrrr you idiot, Your a fierce demon remember. If she doesn't give us what we want we gotta kidnap her.'' say the other. '' Stop Yelling at me '' he replies rubbing his head. one of them walks up towering over Rin '' look you messily human if you can't give us want we want then maybe your village will pay double for your safe return hu huhuhu''the sent that inuyasha is fallowing suddenly changes course approaching what smell like.....even more fox demons

Rin gave an awkward look at the two inexperienced fox tykes and smiled. She looked up at the the fox demon towering over her, "Okay guys you can stop now", she reached up and tugged on the little fox ear, "You to need to work on your transformations a little more before you try to rob someone", she said with a chuckle.

Sesshōmaru strode the plains and fields, he walked calmly with Naraku hovering just behind. Always with a careful eye on the sinister, plotting yokai he would place a relatively small portion of faith--his faith-- in him. Not because he solely trusted him, nor was he naive enough to think him to make the 'right' choice if it came down to it. But because he was assured by his own confidence. He was always the proud aristocratic assassin. He was lord of the surveyed lands around them. He didn't need a castle or throne to dictate him--it was his birth right.

The lord of Hell wanted to usurp him--that was fine. More noted demons had tried and failed. This would be no different an outcome. Kooji had stepped in his lands, his domain. He had threatened his queen, and conjured an army. He wanted war--Sesshōmaru would deliver him to his grave. As far as Naraku was concerned, Kooji had Kikyo. That was perhaps his sole purpose in compliance with him. Sesshōmaru made no mistake--they were both using the other to get what they wanted. For after Kooji was dispatched they would need to settle things between the two of them. For better--or worse.

Sesshōmaru strode into the middle of the village, Naraku was more than likely to be on his heels. He glanced around for Inuyasha. Where was that half witted brother of his?

one of them jerks away form her '' what are you blind lady we're deadly man eating demons. Do you even realize what kind of danger your in ?'' yells one of them. '' hehehe actually Ive been practicing this form even more then my brother and I'm still not vary good.'' says the other scratching his head. '' aw come on your blowing your cover''

suddenly you all hear a rushing through the tree then a fully mature fox demon jumps outta the three's '' YOUR BOTH A BUNCH OF IDIOTS '' the mature fox demon punches the other in the head canceling out there transformation the adult fox demon stands over them cracking his knuckles. '' You guys have no skills in infiltration what so ever.''

Rin looked at the older demon he seemed familiar to her, "Umm.. Do I know you?", she asked.

Inuyasha came up on Shippo and a couple of little pests, he quietly walked up behind them. "Well if it isn't the little brat, oh and look now he's got little brat friends with him", said Inuyasha.

Shippo

'' well if it isn't the hafe demon Inuyahsa its been a wile hasn't it how ya been. oh and these two i wouldn't really call them my friends there more uhhhhh..'' the two twin kept bowing at Shippo's feet '' uh so sorry big boss please don't hit us '' the twins said in unison.

'' actually just started fallowing me one day.'' he turns over to Inuyahsa '' actually Im glad you caught up with me inuyahsa. Ive been meaning to join up with you kagome and the other.'' he gets a really serious look '' Im sure you like myself have received an invitation to hell from Yamashita Kooji.''

"Yeah its a little more complicated then that", said Inuyasha then he noticed Rin, "Rin what the hell are you doing here by yourself", he growled. She looked at him, "I kind of snuck out", she said looking down at the ground like a little child that had just got caught stealing. "Do you have a death wish or something if Sesshomaru were to find out that your out here he'd have a fit. He picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, "Inuyasha put me down!", she yelled. Inuyasha growled again, "Come Shippo follow me and I'll fill you in on all the crap thats going on", he said and then dashed away with Rin over his shoulder.

Shippo

" Right behind you inuyahsa '' he dashes after him the twins just sit there. '' what just happened I thought the Big Boss was gana defeat the hafe demon Inuyahsa.'' one says. '' they look more like friends to me come on brother. where ever the Big Boss goes we go am I right.'' the other gets a ackward look. '' why do i get the feeling I that I know where this is going '' and they both fallow after shippo

Naraku followed quietly after Sesshōmaru, hovering just a couple inches off the ground rather than walking like the demon lord was. Naraku, although he cared little of such things, knew that these lands belonged to Sesshōmaru, it was his domain, and Naraku figured that was why they were walking through them at such a slow pace. If it was what the demon lord needed to strengthen his fighting resolve, then fine. Naraku, at least for now, wanted Sesshōmaru to be at his best. Naraku himself, though, needed no other reason aside from the one he had to fight Kooji. Kikyo. He had thought he would never get a second chance, not after the Shikon Jewel reacted the way it did to his wish, not after it forced him to kill her.

A village came into sight just over a hill, and they were both soon within it. Naraku had long since disabled his miasma, it would be senseless to slaughter whatever forces Sesshōmaru had gathered. He was expecting an interesting reception, if that fool Inuyasha was still alive, then others from that old trouble-making group must be as well. Naraku hovered quietly next to Sesshōmaru, his crimson eyes looking at nothing and everything all at once.

Meanwhile, somewhere far to the other side of Japan, one of Naraku's live body pieces slid along a jagged cliff face, and slowly into a cave that extended deep underneath the ground, in complete darkness. Only the creatures within could pierce the mind-numbing darkness with their eyes, but those eyes were shut during the day. Bat demons, the oldest and strongest that existed were ruled over by an elder in the back of this cave, and Naraku's flesh had easily infiltrated, now it slithered along, and found it's target. Nearly twenty feet tall, hair dyed a peppered grey, the elder bat-demon hung in peaceful sleep from the ceiling, and Naraku's flesh crept onto it's leg, and then sunk into the skin like the parasite that it was. The bat-demon's eyes opened wide, shining a feral yellow in the pitch blackness, and it silently spread it's wings and flew out of the caverns, then turned west.

When they made it to the house Inuyasha set Rin down right in front of the porch, "Hmm i guess Sesshomaru isn't here yet good, not get your ass back in that house Rin", he said with a slight hint of aggravation. "I am no longer a child Inuyasha you can not treat me as such!", she said. Inuyasha felt like screaming at the top of his lungs, "Listen here I don't care if you mated with my brother or not, when you can stop acting like a child I won't treat you like one. Running off into the forest without an escort is stupid, especially when every demon in a hundred mile radios can smell Sesshomaru on you and knows your his mate. Don't you think that maybe if Koojii got a hold of you that he would use you against Sesshomaru!", yelled Inuyasha. Rin looked down at the ground, "You are right Inuyasha, I am sorry I... will do as I was told", and with that she turned and went back into the house. "Dammit! as long as I live I will never understand women", he said with a sigh.

"Well as you can see Shippo everything has gone to hell", he looked at the fox demon he had grown allot in fact he was the tallest fox demon Inuyasha had seen. He was about the height of a young human male and stood about to the middle of Inuyasha's chest. Also that girly little look that Shippo had as a young fox tike was gone and now a mature almost teenager face looked up at him. "I guess I can't pick on him like I used to", he said in his head. Inuyasha sighed and sat down on the front steps, "Sit down runt and I'll give you the low down", he went over everything that had happened so far. Them escaping Kaede village, going to Sesshomaru's castle, Kagome having the baby, escaping the castle, so on and now the revival of Naraku by Sesshomaru. "I didn't think it was a good idea but what other choice do we have to defeat the lord of the underworld", said Inuyasha he turned to , "So you may wanna go back to where ever you came from and stay there, hopefully the hair ball scheme of Sesshomaru's will work and we can all go back to normal", said Inuyasha.

Shippo

Shippo sakes his head they where scarping the bottom of the barrel If they where trusting Naraku of all people. '' I don't even know if naraku will be enough.'' he looks at inuyasha sternly. '' Inuyasha. Kooji has opened his gateway to hell. Yamashita is in Edo or rather what once was Edo. the whole city has become a hell on earth humans are forced into to the gate for even more demons to come out. Its a nightmare to behold.'' Shippo crosses his legs '' Inuyahsa you can't keep hideing in this little house forever. its a safe bet that he already knows you here and he's bidding his time wile he gets stronger.

Sesshōmaru smelled his half-blood brother and followed the scent with out any delay. His bottled feet stopped before the fox demon and Inuyasha. His usual cal demeanor--like an impenetrable mask lest broken by sheer anger or --as Inuyasha knew all to well--disgust was painted on. Yet, there was a gleam in his eye, he was planning something. What it was, he would soon give a hint towards. Firstly, he looked towards the fox demon.

"I thought I smelled a runt around here. Still using cheap tricks and even cheaper toys, are we fox?" The condescending tone in his voice would be ruthlessly clear rather than arbitrary like with his brother.

Sesshōmaru then turned and looked at Inuyasha. "Go fetch the other elder demons that have gathered--tell them to meet me just outside the village in a clearing. We have much to discuss." Sesshōmaru then moved past his brother and into the homestead to find Rin, his mate.

Naraku silently hovered in front of Inuyasha and the fox demon. He recognized him, but had never paid much attention to his name, fox demons had never impressed Naraku, but perhaps now, after being allowed time to mature and learn his strengths, the fox demon would not be so useless. He had decided not to follow Sesshōmaru into the home. He recognized the scent of that girl, Rin. He had used her as a foothold against Sesshōmaru before, and it had been highly effective. Now, it seemed, it would be even more effective if he had to resort to that for any reason, because the two of them were covered in eachother's scents.

Naraku left without saying anything, floating through the air at a slow pace, to the clearing that Sesshōmaru had referred to. He went and stood in the center of it, and then extended his arm out in front of him. Several lumps of flesh pushed outwards from his arm, and then tore out of his skin. Over a dozen saimyosho formed from the flesh, and then took off all different directions around the small homestead of Sesshōmaru's. Anyone that drew near, Naraku would see before anyone else.

Rin sat down in her room once again, Kagome had seen her when she came in and gave her an odd look asking her if she was alright. Rin had mumbled a response but she really didn't say anything. She had felt so scolded by Inuyasha, and was quite upset by it not that he wasn't right in what he had said to her but the fact that he had embarrassed her in front of everyone was the problem. She sighed, she imagined that Sesshomaru would had something to the same effect but not as rude. It was then that she sensed something she stood, "my Lord", she said, she ran out of the room seeing him come into the house. "Sesshomaru!", she yelled running to him she jumped up and put her arms around his neck. "Oh Sesshomaru I was so worried", she said.

Sesshōmaru halted in the middle of the hallway, suddenly leapt on by possibly, the only actual human he could stand--with the exception of Kagome. Though she made him nauseated with her miko-like powers. Though they hardly did anything more to him than that--it was his sensitive nose. He could smell her energy from a field away and it still seemed to make him sick. Though, he was a bit more reserved than his brother when it came to his senses. Had his brother gotten a whiff a noxious fume, he'd have been stumbling over himself. The idiot Sesshōmaru quietly thought.

"Are you okay, Rin?" Sesshōmaru asked plainly, looking at her expectantly--his eyes told her he knew that she had been crying, he was just waiting for her to blame Inuyasha so he could retire his younger brother for the evening by clocking him upside the head in anger. His lips twinged, almost seeming to enjoy the thought a little too much than may have been comfortable with everyone else. But that was him.

"I can not stay long--though I will return shortly I must convene with the other lords. This will be taking place outside,you are welcome to come to see if you wish." His eyes would totally block his plans from her, though he was seriously suggesting that she come as his bride.

"Im fine I was just worried about you", she said with a smile she wasn't going to tell him about her going out by herself. This will be taking place outside,you are welcome to come to see if you wish.""You just got back, but if you wish for me to accompany you to speak with the other Lords I will", even though she was sad at his leaving her again she understood. That is the way of war in order to regain peace in their world, sacrifices must be made. Some gave more than others, Rin can only hope that Sesshomaru would only be sacrificing time wtih her instead of his life.

"Very well, lets go." Sesshōmaru turned from Rin, not so much brushing her affection off or dismissing it. He simply couldn't afford to let his guard down. Especially with Naraku around, or to continue forwards with his plans. Sesshōmaru stepped outside the door, stopping in the mid of the door way. His brother was babbling with the fox demon still. He approached his half-blooded hanyou, his eyes piercing a hole through the back of his brother's skull.

His clawed hand furled methodically each finger cracking, lifted slowly, and then--dropped. It would impact the top of Inuyasha's head with all the likeness of a sledge hammer. Running his tongue over one of his canines. With a slight 'tsk', his hand unfurled across the scalp of his brother's now throbbing head, he leaned down to one of Inuyasha's dog-like ears, whispering in a cold, and very calm manner.

"You make my mate cry again, and not even that witch Kagome will be able to save you from me. Now lets go." He roughly released his brother's head from his vice like grip, letting him deal with the consequences of yelling at and making Rin cry. He headed off in the direction of the woods that were a distance away from where they were. Something big was about to go down.

"Dammit I was trying to keep her from getting herself killed and this is how you repay me, why cant you just say thank you", said Inuyasha while rubbing his head where a huge lump was forming.

Rin looked up at Sesshomaru, "Sesshomaru he did what he thought was right, and he was right I went out unattended and if I had been captured terrible things could have happened", she sighed. "I only cried because I was angry with myself for being so foolish". She put her hand on his arm, and smiled up at him she had definitely missed him while he had been gone.

"Dammit I was trying to keep her from getting herself killed and this is how you repay me, why cant you just say thank you"

"If I cared for your sentimental bullshit Inuyasha, I'd have not tried to kill you with your own sword techniques before I decidedly let you have both the Tenseiga's Mediou Zangetuah, and your own abilities back." Sesshōmaru exclaimed walking onwards before he felt a hand grasp his over-sized sleeves.

"Sesshomaru he did what he thought was right, and he was right I went out unattended and if I had been captured terrible things could have happened", she sighed. "I only cried because I was angry with myself for being so foolish".

Sesshōmaru stopped, and looking over his shoulder with one golden orb staring back; first at Rin then at the hanyou Inuyasha. He was their to the Tessiaga. The true and unconditional heir. But in realizing this, he regained his footing in his father's scheme and gained back what he had lost and more. No more was he a pup wanting his father's memento--no, he had his own sword--Bakusaiga. A weapon of much greater damage but perhaps, not as versatile as the Tessiaga.

His eye slid back forwards, and he said in a more reserved voice rather than an irritated one "Let's go brother, lest you plant to teach the fox demon through all your mishaps--how to handle your sword. We've work to do." Sesshōmaru spoke before drifting into the woods, vanishing from sight.

Inuyasha stood up, "I haven't gotten a chance to see Kagome and the children yet, I'm gonna see them first", he didn't wait for Sesshomaru to give him some kind of stupid lecture. He didn't want to here about how he was weak because of his affection for his mate. But then Sesshomaru could turn around and do the same damn thing and it would be totally different, he would give some excuse, like "It is my duty as Lord of these lands to monitor my mate and offspring". He knew that his brother had deep feeling for love towards Rin. But he didn't see it lasting because Sesshomaru was not capable of giving Rin the affection she needed as a human female. He just didn't know how to show his love for Rin, it was hard enough for Inuyasha being a half demon. He never could understand how their father was able to do it.

Rin looked up at her love, she was glad that he was back even for a short period time. She didn't know why he wished for her to accompany him to meet with the youkai lords, but she figured it had something to do with the fact that he had taken Rin as his mate. She hoped that this meeting would not become a fight, she felt like they needed as much help as they could get. The thing that scared her the most was the fact that they had gone to Naraku for help. She hoped that it wouldn't be a very bad mistake. All she could think about was the fact that she could loose Sesshomaru, in this war.
