Character development:

I know we all want to start off kicking some serious butt, I only have one request. That each member spend some time in the first phase of the story building up their characters, their life story, family associations, etc. That way we can make some connections to one another as characters before we start to get into the specifics of the roleplay. Such as trying to save the entire human race.







Overview:

They came from somewhere out there, landing on our world some time in its recent history, establishing permanent settlements for themselves, and adequate hiding places for their strange machines and alien devices, though they have never been detected by any government agency. Their ships, which are also giant factories, have achieved total concealment through no use of electrographic deflection shields, instead relying on a unique form of mimicry, one which keeps them completely hidden.

liberating humanity from the clutches of the "invisible enemy", as they have come to be known. It is therefore up to those remaining to discover the reasons for the invasion, to discover their true identity and hopefully find a way to defeat them.



This roleplaying game will take place in 4 phases, each dedicated to a specific time period within the framework of the RPG. To simplify it the moderator will determine when each phase ends and new phase begins, rather then having different sections set up under the "PLACES" tab.

These are......







Phase One. The Past:




It was a Wonderful Life.

A new age of prosperity had dawned upon the United States and the rest of the world, the nation had just recovered from a devastating recession and life quickly returned to normal, from there the world improved drastically. The world still had its troubles, starvation of the masses had not been rectified and although reduced considerably some crimes still occurred. At the same time, the major issues that had plagued the mankind, religious intolerance, racial hatred and acts of terrorism was virtually non existent.

This part of the RPG will take place in the Detroit, Michigan area.

This would be the part of the story where the characters are introduced into the world, what we want here are the more mundane aspects of the characters. Where they live, their family history, interactions, etc. Basically we want to build up the characters before the more unsettling things begin to happen







Phase Two. Present time:




We saw the Signs.

One of the hurdles that humanity had failed to overcome was the ever accelerating problem of pollution, as well as the depletion of the ozone. For decades the problem was ignored by virtually every human being, some doubted its reality, others acknowledged the problem but were of the opinion that nothing could be done. What humanity did not know however was that there were forces at work behind this acceleration. Eventually there would come a time when all the other problems that plagued mankind would give way to this one issue.

This part of the RPG would take place in New Jersey.

In this phase the characters will begin to learn about the strange occurrences that have been transpiring around the country and the world. It is here that the characters begin to get sucked into these unfortunate events. This will also be the point where certain facts are introduced.






Phase Three. Future:




A Share in the Blame.

A plastic bag can last for 500 years or more in the environment, it in fact never decomposes, but only breaks down into smaller and smaller pieces. Unfortunately humanity itself may not even have that long. We can perhaps rest a little better knowing that it wasn't entirely our fault, for humanity had no way of knowing that something was hastening their demise, a force from beyond the stars. A force with an unknown agenda, one which spells ill for all mankind.

This part of the RPG would take place in Downtown L.A.

In this phase everything come to ahead and the characters learn the whole truth.
