Emily Nichols is a 20 year old female, who was halfway through medical school when the whole apocalypse war thing started. Honestly, she didn't even know it was going on, since she was cooped up in her dorm studying, being non-social, and playing guitar occasionally, until some zombie-mutant things came barreling in, and she barely escaped through the fire exit.
Before the apocalypse started, Emily had a boyfriend. His name was Ted, but she hadn't heard from him for a month before. She wants to find him desperately, since he's the closest thing she has to any family really. Her actual family, just Mom and Dad, both died in a horrible car wreck when she was 10.
Emily is stuck in her outfit of a white shirt, and jeans she ripped trying to flee her dorm. She has some sunglasses and a fedora on her head, but doesn't see the use in them.
She's never had many friends. A usual stick-in-the-mud when it comes down to it, but, she does realize that she's going to have to put on her brave face if she has any hope of surviving at all...

"What?" Emily looked ahead of her, and saw a funny looking robot thing, and a person climb down a manhole. She cautiously approached them, holding a piece of wood she stumbled across on campus. Those things had gotten into everything...
Kay, stopped crying and looked at the manhole "My Teddy" she exclaimed "and my things..." she continued looking back and forth between the three. She heard a monster in the distance, and whimpered "we need to hide!" she bursted away from them and ran to her hiding place. She wiped the tears from her face and pushed the cover away leaping down the ladder and back in the hole. Grabbing Blakely she huddled in the corner of the collapsed tunnel looking at the light above her.
Kay heard noised upstairs and snuggled her teddy, "The monsters" she cried pointing the light on top. Curling up in a ball she whimpered, "I want to wake up now, I want my Mommy and Daddy." She hated it here, living in a sewer having to stay hidden of face the monsters it wasn't something a little girl should have to deal with.
"Help, her!" she winned not wanting to see anyone become one of those things.

Kay nodded gently, "I don't want to stay here again tonight." she said as the girl spoke. "I just want my mommy..." she cried a little harder than the last. her big blue eyes looking up at her she huffed and cuddled her teddy bear. Nearby Boone was taking pot shots at the zombies from a rooftop, when he noticed the funny robot and girl nearly get grabbed. He shot one that was getting close to them and started heading to the street. He'd traveled from Boston, maybe they had news from Dallas.
"Hey!" he yelled grabbing a knife from his pocket and stabbing a freak before he grabbed him.

Kay watched while hugging her teddy, "I'f we're going I need to pack my thing up more." she said and started rolling her sleeping bag, and tried attaching it to her backpack. She looked at the three empty sleeping places where her classmate used to be and frowned. "I wish you came sooner, they might have made it too." she added and sat down on the cold floor.
Boone, looked at the Robot "Strange thing aren't you." he said holstering his weapon. "I'm just here cause I saw you all in need of help." he said and moved to the manhole and started down, looking at the girls he sighed. "Any of ya'll from Dalles by chance?"

"The monster's took them" Kay said and grabbed as much as she could and stuffed it in her backpack. "I think I have everything." she said holding her teddy close to her. Her eyes blinking as they kept talking she was getting confused a little and wasn't sure who was talking to who.
Boone, sighed at the Robot he didn't like them much. "Damn," he grunted. "was hoping..." he trailed off. "Ah it was a pipe dream anyway." he said looking at the kid. "You've got a kid with you? you sure you know what you're doing?" he walked over to Kay and knelt down to her eye level. "Kid you know these ladies?"
Kay nodded gently, "uh huh."
Boone stood up, and looked at the girls. "I got a truck, if ya'll need a ride I'm head to Dallas I'll take you anywhere on the way."
Boone, sighed at the Robot he didn't like them much. "Damn," he grunted. "was hoping..." he trailed off. "Ah it was a pipe dream anyway." he said looking at the kid. I grew a little frustrated. "I said I was from near there, mystery man. " I grunted, looking at Jodie. "It's got blood on it." I took out a folde up map from my back pocket, and handed it to her.
"Nichols. Emily Nichols." I said with a big smile, then nodded to Jodie.
I walked over to the little girl, and pulled out a necklace from my pocket. "Here... I want you to have this. It was mine... but I think it'll look better on you." I smiled at her warmly, and held it out in my hand. The necklace was a small heart, just a simple little necklace. It was mine when I was younger, but I didn't want the memories of home with me anymore.

Emily looked at Jodie. "Um... I think we should go somewhere safe.... and leave now." I had a nervous look on my face. I closed my hand holding the necklace. "But... it seems like I should just go off on my own. I'm not being heard here." I wiped some zombie blood off of my arms.
I sighed heavily, and walked towards a tree, kicking it hard. "I. Hate. This. Apocalypse." Kicking it for each word.
I took a deep breath, and looked at them. We were kinda like one of those misfit families. I sighed, and shrugged, walking with them.
"Since the beginning..." I mumbled, looking straight ahead, the gun over my shoulder, and my bookbag on my back. I went to say something, but saw something in the distance. "Is that... one of them?" I squinted my eyes to try and get a better look. I held my hand up, telling them not to fire. I went closer, and saw him. "Ted!" I shouted, and sprinted to him, he smiled weakly at me, and held his arms out, catching me. "Oh... Emily... It really is you.." He whispered, one hand was on the back of my head, holding me to his shoulder. Ted had on a gun holster around his hips, with two guns, fully loaded. A few scratches, and bruises, but no bites.
Ted intertwined his hand in mine, and walked behind me back to them. "This is Ted... " I smiled at Jodie. Ted looked at them, and waved shyly. "Hey..." I kept him near me, Ted being on alert for anything. "I see you guys have a robot.." He chuckled, coming in front of me. "I haven't seen one of you in a while." He looked over Rory closely.
Ted chuckles at Rory, and pecks Emily's cheek, running to catch up to Boone. "I'm Ted, and you're.... ?" He asked politely, helping with the door.
Emily giggled as he pecked her, and looked at Jodie and Rory. "Hey, I like you too!" I protested to Rory. Then, I motioned for Kay to come to me. I knelt, so I was on her eye level.

Ted helped Boone with some gas. "Anytime." He nodded, happy to be helpful.
I grab Kay's hand, and open it, putting the necklace inside of it. "Keep it for me, okay?" I kissed Kay's head, and walked with her and the others up to the truck.

Emily smiled, holding hands with Ted. "I don't think you'll have to, babydoll." I inspected the seat, looking at it.
Emily laughed at Kay, and took the baby seat out. "I don't think we have to worry about "breaking laws" right now..." She sighed, and threw the seat off to the side, out of the car.
Ted stood by, listening to the whole conversation. "We're going to Washington?" He looked concerned.
