The car ride was long, longer than any Elisa or Rebecca had taken in a while. Elisa, who was usually a daydreamer staring at the window, had managed to doze off more than a couple times - the sound of the car lulled her into a nap, with her head snuggled against Beck's shoulder. She would wake up periodically and chat or snuggle with Beck, for the most part completely ignoring Millie's existence in the seat next to him, but almost always managed to fall back asleep like the most tired of puppies.
Bex, on the other hand, was completely filled with life. She sang aloud with the
radio, with a voice that didn't sound half bad, and was constantly thinking about car games for the five of them to play. She would frequently turn around in her seat to wake up her sleeping friend and poke fun. It was hard for her to keep quiet for a solid minute and she was extremely fidgety. After about two hours, and knowing there was about another hour and a half left, she was practically begging to get out of the car.
"Can we puh-leeeaaase, stop for like water or something. I'm going to die." Rebecca said with a groan, looking at Leon with her lower lip jutted out in a pout. "Pretty pwease."
"I'm hungry," Elisa piped up, her voice groggy from sleep. She was pretty sure she had completely silenced the entire car with that statement. Beck looked more than a little shocked.
Rebecca turned around in her seat, all but ignoring her seat belt laws to stare at her. In all her days, she had never heard the girl admit that. Not once. Her eyes narrowed.
"Weird. I didn't know you ate. I thought you survived on angst and dreams." She said with a wicked grin and teasing that only a best friend could get away with. Though there was an underlying sadness in her voice.
"I eat. Mean." The thin girl stated flatly, sticking her tongue out.
Elisa didn't eat much and what she did eat was few and far between, but it was about the time of day that she'd allow herself a snack - such as an apple. It was always apples with her or grapefruit or some small low calorie snack. It was the fruit that gave her some semblance of energy, though not much it could sometimes get her through a day without literally passing out.
"What about you, Red? Hungry, hafta pee, just want to get out of this car for like five seconds?" Bex asked, though it was clear that the third option was really her own needs. Obviously, long trips weren't her strong suit and she had begun feeling a little claustrophobic. She was someone who constantly kept herself busy, talking or just plain doing
something; sitting in a car wasn't exactly conducive to that. For that reason alone, she was pretty annoying to road trip with.
