"You had this place built?"

"Yeah." Leon said, with nothing added to explain. It was a blunt and abrupt tone of voice that could have been misinterpreted for rudeness. He just wanted to cut the conversation short. It was easier that way.

"Still sleeping, B?"
"Couldn't you have wiped yourself dry even a little bit!?"

"I like baths." He informed her as he pulled away from the embrace, though that point was rather obvious. "They are warm...well it was rather warm. Now I am VERY cold. Leon actually tried to kill me in there." Beck said in a rather child like manner, though it was rather depressing to see him shivering like that. "And we are late so no! Where is Millie? She is meant to be here soon!"

"Does Beck always get you this wet in front of company?"

Beck chuckled lightly raising his eyebrows at her question, though he countered back perfectly. "You should see how wet I get her away from company..." Leon made a sound of sarcastic gipping before returning to puff from his cigarette. That was before conversation drew dark of course.

"Jesus man. Did you count cards in a mob run casino or what? You must have really pissed someone off."

"Something like that..." Beck said in a quiet tone. He didn't sound defensive or angry, he sounded weak. His posture was pathetic. It was like he was reliving every memory from when The Emeralds carved "caught" into his back. You could see it in his eyes. "They were very pissed off." He ended his speech. It was horrible to note the scar from the stab wound on his front too, but that had healed well thanks to Millie's work, where as the slices on his back were made to remain forever. Bex had to be catching on that something dodgy was going on in the group, he just hoped she didn't care enough to pry.

As Beck left to get changed, Millie walked through the door. She wore a simple black crop top, skinny jeans and loosely laced combat boots. Her crimson hair casually flow down her back to her shoulder blades. She appeared less intimidating then usual, but maybe that was just due to the fact she had thrown on some travel journey clothes. "Morning." She greeted, though didn't make any exact eye contact with Elisa.

The woman placed her bag alongside Beck's messy shit pile and though she never communicated with her, she headed in the brunettes direction. Millie placed two fingers under Elisa's chin and proped her head up slightly, examining how her wound was healing upon her throat. "Good..good." She muttered, checking once more before she spotted something from the corner of her eye. "Oh...Is this what Beck has been up to lately? I thought he didn't paint and stuff anymore..." The redhead pointed over to a cluster of scattered art pieces on the counter. Some were the oddly coloured canvas paintings of landscapes he had produced with his father, some were lazy comic like sketches of people including joker along with some seemingly self created characters and last of all a very large messy charcoal sketch of Elisa. It was simplistic and beautiful and you could not fault the likeness, but it was pretty noticeable that he had drawn her at a healthy weight as she lacked the sunken cheeks and edged bones...

"You should see how wet I get her away from company..."
"And we are late so no! Where is Millie? She is meant to be here soon!"

"You both have no chill." Elisa said with a groan, playfully glaring at both Rebecca and Beck. She was still shivering from the water that had transferred from Beck to her, she wiped the drops off her arms and poked at one of his ribs.

"Something like that..."
"They were very pissed off."

While Bex's curiosity burned, his very demeanor told her not to push it. The boy looked like he would fall apart at any second and she regretted commenting at all. Still, she knew something was going on with her new gaggle of friends and she would find out what it was. Secrets didn't stay secrets for long, if life had taught her anything in her eighteen years of life. Part of her was frustrated that her best friend was keeping things from her - the look on Elisa's face had given at least that much away - but she really couldn't blame her. With a boy cutting at Elisa's throat and everyone constantly on edge, it all seemed like a bit much. Even for Rebecca, who found herself in trouble more often than not.

Bex moved closer to Leon and his cigarette, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Let me take a drag?" Her voice was light hearted and flirty, obviously trying to diffuse the tension she had created.

"Good..good."

At first Elisa moved away from Millie's touch, a little surprised and uncomfortable at the tiny examination. "Good morning to you too, buttercup." She grumbled, also avoiding any eye contact with Beck's former fuck buddy. It was awkward, everything about Millie's being there. No matter how much Beck talked the girl up and tried to make her seem like a fabulous, wonderful human being, she couldn't recognize the red head as anything more than a threat. It was pure, unadulterated jealousy; though it was slightly understandable. Most girlfriends didn't have to worry about their boyfriends hook ups going on vacation with them.

"Good morning, Red." Bex greeted, giving her a flirty wave.

"Oh...Is this what Beck has been up to lately? I thought he didn't paint and stuff anymore..."

Rebecca snorted and looked at Elisa. "And he calls you the hipster. I can see him now; at that coffee shop in San Luis, spreading out his canvas over the antique table, black rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose - purely for aesthetic and not sight related reasons - painting his lovely girlfriend in watercolor." The dark haired girl placed her hand over her heart and sighed, dramatically looking off into the distance.

"Paint me like one of your Cali girls, Beck!" She tacked on at the end, her voice obnoxiously mocking the California girl accent.

Elisa bit her lip to stifle a laugh that threatened to escape and she punched her friend in the arm. "Pretty dramatic, Bex. Ever considered acting? Then your bullshit could be on a stage."

"Ouch. Feeling Salty, Elisa?" Rebecca responded, though clearly she wasn't offended. "For real though, it's super awesome. I feel like I'm looking at a future Van Gogh. Or Steve Ditko. Whatever. There's a lot of styles here. Good job, Becky."

Though Elisa listened to Rebecca's typical rambling style of speech, she had turned most of her attention to the drawing Beck had done of her. In it, she looked pretty but so completely different from how she was now. The girl in the sketch was a far cry from the girl standing in front of it. In the back of her mind she wondered if Beck had even known the girl he had drawn. She was sick when they had met and even sicker in the present, but somehow he had captured her as healthy - having never known her to be that way. She turned away from the drawing, knowing that if she stared at it much longer that she might cry; for reasons she wasn't entirely sure of.

"You're amazing Beck." Elisa complimented, mustering a smile.

(* I feel gross writing american words.)

"Let me take a drag?"

Leon passed Bex the cigarette with monotone expression; he seemed to be avoiding eye contact with her. He had been a little funny with her ever since they had slept together for the second time. The man felt as though she was playing him and tugging at his strings as though he was her little amusing puppet boy. He didn't understand why she had built so many walls but continued to play as though she had none. All Leon knew was that it hurt like a bitch. He could feel her warm arms around him, but he couldn't sense the comfort.

"Good morning to you too, buttercup."

Millie frowned a little more at her response but of course she expected it. "Are you going to play nice this week or not?" She addressed her, rather straight forward. The crimson haired woman looked sick of her already but was planning to do her best to ignore her hatred for her while they were away. She began to fold and pack Beck's clothes as he had left them in a dump. It was kind of an absent thing; caring for Beck was like second nature to her.

"Good morning, Red."

"H..hi." Millie greeted, not sure of what to make of Elisa's best friend yet. She didn't seem to have the same bitterness as her but surely she would choose her side if the time came. Still Bex seemed fun...fun like herself. Maybe this vacation* would be quite something if she managed to grab Bex's attention. That was as long as she wasn't jealous about her and Leon's past relations but the pair didn't seem to be all that serious. "Oh my god. I just realised I'm 5th wheeling. How gross it that?!" She asked, maybe prying at the wound a little for information. Sneaky fox.

"And he calls you the hipster. I can see him now; at that coffee shop in San Luis, spreading out his canvas over the antique table, black rimmed glasses on the bridge of his nose - purely for aesthetic and not sight related reasons - painting his lovely girlfriend in watercolor."

"I AM NOT A HIPSTER!" Beck yelled, now storming out the door while still pulling on a fresh T-shirt. His blonde hair was still damp from his bath and the material of his clothes clung to him, flattering his stomach. He did look rather hot. "I WILL NEVER BECOME ONE OF YOU" He said, now wagging a finger at Elisa and Bex.

"Paint me like one of your Cali girls, Beck!"

That was when the youth pulled the brunette into a choke hold, of course not with enough force to damage her, but with a kind of rough playfulness. Leon watched from a distance, holding his tongue, but really he wanted nothing more than to punch Beck in the nose. "I bet you have some weird shitty hipster hobby too... Don't you eh?!??" He mocked before releasing the girl and stumbling backwards.

"For real though, it's super awesome. I feel like I'm looking at a future Van Gogh. Or Steve Ditko. Whatever. There's a lot of styles here. Good job, Becky."

The man was basically blushing like a tomato, running his hands through his hair like a awkward 10 year old. He really liked being praised for his work, especially when people saw the real beauty behind it. Still that didn't mean it wasn't embarrassing. "Thanks Bex. I was just trying out some new stuff that's all."

"You're amazing Beck."

He quickly began to kiss her, again and again. His eyes closed, breathing in her scent. She was beautiful. She was so thin. She was ill. She was dying. Beck ran his hands over her. He knew that she needed to eat well this week and he was going to do whatever he could to get her to consume something worthwhile.

"I packed your things Beck." Millie interrupted, maybe on purpose, maybe not. It was hard to tell, but either way he broke away from his girlfriend to turn his attention to the other woman.. "Thanks a lot. I know you would complain about my packing. So is everyone ready to go?" He questioned, a large grin on his face.

Leon was being cold to her and that was something Rebecca wasn't use to. It was normally her that pulled away and she definitely wasn't willing to let go of him yet. She stared at him from the side of her eye as she exhaled the smoke. They hadn't been texting as much either and she wasn't sure what the feeling in the pit of her stomach was, but she didn't like it all.

"Are you going to play nice this week or not?"

A tsk sound left Elisa's mouth and she shrugged. "I will if you will." Elisa didn't want anymore trouble than Millie did. She wanted to have fun and to get away and if she could completely ignore the red heads existence, that'd be great too.

"Oh my god. I just realised I'm 5th wheeling. How gross it that?!"

"You're too cute. I can always keep your bed warm if you want." Rebecca invited, twirling a strand of her hair. If Leon was going to get cold with her, she could heat it up with someone else...Not that she wanted to and part of her thought that if she did, it would be for the sole purpose of making him jealous.

"I bet you have some weird shitty hipster hobby too... Don't you eh?!??"

It was hard for Rebecca not to completely lose her shit when he grabbed at her so suddenly and it showed when her face paled, cringing as she pulled away from Beck. A flash of a memory danced across her vision. She knew that he didn't mean it and it definitely hadn't hurt her, but still she had trouble regaining composure. Still though, despite the tears ringing her eyes, she managed to grin, albeit awkwardly. "Weird hipster hobby? I'll have you know that I only do cool things, you Tumblrina." She said with a laugh, though not quite managing to make eye contact with anyone and hoping that no one had noticed her walls tumble down. Even if it was just for a moment.

Elisa had noticed. It was hard for her not to, but she knew why. She knew all about Bex, more than anyone in this room. She gave her a comforting smile before turning to Beck and laughing. "Rebecca plays the violin. And cello. And piano. Did I mention that at one point she was teaching herself to play a harp? She's got a thing for music. The ultimate hipster hobby. Other than like photography or something weird."

That seemed to diffuse Bex's awkward tension for that moment and she put on a feigned look of betrayal. "That is so not a hipster hobby. I don't go around telling people your various weirdnesses."

"That's because I don't have 'various weirdnesses.'" Elisa said with a confident smirk.

"You fuckin' have books filled with poetry that you wrote. Not to mention all those word documents you have of short stories saved on that flash drive you let me borrow for school." Bex shot back at her, laughing.

"I knew I gave you the wrong one. Oh my god." By that point Elisa was blushing profusely and hiding behind Beck's back.

"Thanks Bex. I was just trying out some new stuff that's all."

Rebecca smiled back at him, but turned away when she noticed Elisa and Beck having a moment. She didn't know if it made her jealous or if she missed feeling like she was cared about, but she found her gaze turning back to Leon. A picture of him holding her similarly to the way Beck held Elisa crossed her mind, but she shook it away. She didn't want that...right?

Elisa, on the other hand, was very much enjoying the attention from her boyfriend - even if it bore a sad tension. She held on to his waist and kissed him back. When he turned away she wrapped her arms around his waist and laid her head against his back. She didn't even care that Millie had interrupted them, so long as Elisa could stay this close to him for just a little longer - that was okay. And they had a whole week.

So is everyone ready to go?"

"I think so." Elisa answered.

"We were waiting on you, hipster." Bex said with a wink.

"You're too cute. I can always keep your bed warm if you want."

Millie blushed a colour that matched her hair. The comment clearly took her by surprise. She did a weird kind of panicked movement with her hands before pointing at the brunette male. "ahm....erm I thought you were into Leon? I don't understand?" She expressed, having no knowledge of sexuality being more complicated than gay or straight. She wasn't trying to be rude, just a little naive.

"Weird hipster hobby? I'll have you know that I only do cool things, you Tumblrina."

Beck had a lump in his throat as he realised that he had stirred Bex a little. He didn't understand why and actually thought that she was someone he could have had a bit of laddish banter with, but it seemed not. Either way he noted not to be too intimate or heavy handed with her, after all he was growing fond of the young woman and didn't wish to upset her, even if he didn't understand what he had done to hurt her.

"Rebecca plays the violin. And cello. And piano. Did I mention that at one point she was teaching herself to play a harp? She's got a thing for music. The ultimate hipster hobby. Other than like photography or something weird."

"Beautiful." Leon said at a volume that he thought was under his breath but was in fact pretty loud. He tried to keep a straight expression after realising his outburst. He wished that he could get to know Bex better, but it was quite unlikely they would get that close. Especially since he was already pushing her away.

Meanwhile Beck was dancing around the room pretending to sarcastically play the violin complete with horrible loud noises. He trotted around Bex in a circle.

"You fuckin' have books filled with poetry that you wrote. Not to mention all those word documents you have of short stories saved on that flash drive you let me borrow for school."

"HAHAHAA!" Beck laughed at this outburst, now pointing at Elisa before realising that this was probably not the best reaction to finding out about his girlfriends passions. He composed himself, but still chuckled lightly. "Twilight fanfictions? Dirty ones? I'd love to read some time..." He purred.

"And you just love digging your knife into people, drugging them up and then winding a needle through their skin. How cute." Leon tutted, rubbing Millie on the head which messed her hair slightly. She didn't appear too pleased. "Oh yeah? Well its better than your hobbies and careers goals." Which caused Leon to frown darkly and narrow his eyes. She shut up after that, clearly pushing too many of his buttons.

"Okay then lets jump in Leon's car. Chuck your stuff in the boot." Beck explained before herding the group out and locking up. Leon's car was pleasant and big. It was a classy black and clearly cost a fair bit of money. He sat down at the drivers seat and waited to see who would choose to go shotgun.

"ahm....erm I thought you were into Leon? I don't understand?"

Rebecca gave the red head an impish grin, recognizing the naivete of the girl. "Oh, you're adorable." She had had more than her fair share of people question her sexuality or simply not understand, pretending there were only two sides of the spectrum: gay or straight. For a lot of people, the idea of a middle seemed impossible to understand and it was that very mindset that Rebecca herself had trouble understanding. Though she was living it and it had never been any other way. "I like boys and I like girls. I get the best of both worlds." She explained with a wink.

"Beautiful."
"And you just love digging your knife into people, drugging them up and then winding a needle through their skin. How cute."

Rebecca's eyes shot over to Leon and she gave him a smaller smile, almost shy in comparison to her usual confident grins. "Then maybe I'll let you listen some time." Of course that didn't last long and she quickly and easily slipped back into her default, flirty self. Her clever facade remained in place, only faltering when a pang of jealousy shot through her with Leon giving attention to Millie, when he had all but brushed her off.

"Twilight fanfictions? Dirty ones? I'd love to read some time..."

"Why would I need to write dirty fan fiction, when I can live it in real life with you?" Elisa said and despite the explicit nature of her words, her voice came off as innocent questioning and was followed up with a pout. Still, it was obvious she was teasing him just as much as he was teasing her. He acted like such a child sometimes and as much as she would like to pretend it annoyed her, she loved it about him. It was one of her favorite things. Even with everything going wrong in their world, he still managed to jump around and smile and have fun.

"Okay then lets jump in Leon's car. Chuck your stuff in the boot."

Elisa loaded her bag in the trunk of the car, noting the curious quality of the car they were taking. She wondered, what exactly it was that Leon did to earn enough money to pay for something like this. It was obvious that he had money and she briefly wondered if he was a trust fund kid, just like she was...though having never seen him around, she thought it unlikely. She pushed the thought out of her head and jumped into the backseat, happily motioning for Beck.

Bex on the other hand, was completely unaware or simply didn't care enough to take in the apparent value of the car - purposefully hopping in the front seat. It was equal parts wanting to see the awkwardness that would play out with Beck, Elisa and Millie in the back, not wanting to deal with the cuddle fest that would likely ensue between the couple...and she wanted to find out why Leon was suddenly being so cold to her. Maybe she could push the issue at a rest stop, or maybe he was just in a mood. Either way, she wasn't a fan of being pushed away as much as she did the pushing.

"Oh, you're adorable."
"I like boys and I like girls. I get the best of both worlds."

Millie was still blushing hard, finding the situation rather embarrassing and feeling a little bit of a tool. It wasn't that she was the homophobic sort, it was just a new concept to her and she found it a rather weird idea just like Leon had when he had things explained to him. "Lucky you!" She laughed, still a little nervous but definitely with a good heart.

"Then maybe I'll let you listen some time."

He raised an eyebrow. "You know music was not something I expected of you. Not to offend..." Leon said, but grinned slightly at her offer. Still sex never satisfied him, it only made him ache more.

"Twilight fanfictions? Dirty ones? I'd love to read some time..."

As they were putting their things in the trunk and the others had already taken their seats, Beck generously ran his hand over her ass before moving round to her front and tugging likely at her waistband, as though wanting to pull down her bottoms. "You keep hinting that you are planning to make this holiday very interesting..." He moaned, before slowly moving away from her. "Please...please do. Not going to lie I'm feeling pretty desperate right now."

He clumsily took his seat next to Elisa, still a little flustered, and later Millie seated herself next to Beck. Of course this was her favourite choice of placement but the only issue was his girlfriend lingering at the other side of the car; no doubt she would be hissing with jealousy the whole journey. Millie couldn't understand why he would ever choose her, she saw no advantages, only disadvantages. In the red heads mind all Elisa was, was a snob with a poisonous attitude and a lot of issue that would restrict a young man in his life, not to mention her weight restricted her of having incredibly flattering assets. She tried not to think in such a bitchy manner, but it was hard not to when she had already shown her dark side. Suddenly the woman felts emotions turned gloomy and so she placed in earphones to try and ignore the situation. It was all she could do really.

Leon started the car and soon they were on their way. As much as he didn't verbally acknowledge the fact Bex had taken shot gun, he had definitely made note of it. Millie could have been there instead of her and she could have had a good laugh with Elisa in the back, but she chose not to. It was confusing. He was tired of mixed signals, but once again it was obvious that Leon took simple things like things and twisted them into unnecessary love conflicts. It was dumb.

The car ride was long, longer than any Elisa or Rebecca had taken in a while. Elisa, who was usually a daydreamer staring at the window, had managed to doze off more than a couple times - the sound of the car lulled her into a nap, with her head snuggled against Beck's shoulder. She would wake up periodically and chat or snuggle with Beck, for the most part completely ignoring Millie's existence in the seat next to him, but almost always managed to fall back asleep like the most tired of puppies.

Bex, on the other hand, was completely filled with life. She sang aloud with the radio, with a voice that didn't sound half bad, and was constantly thinking about car games for the five of them to play. She would frequently turn around in her seat to wake up her sleeping friend and poke fun. It was hard for her to keep quiet for a solid minute and she was extremely fidgety. After about two hours, and knowing there was about another hour and a half left, she was practically begging to get out of the car.

"Can we puh-leeeaaase, stop for like water or something. I'm going to die." Rebecca said with a groan, looking at Leon with her lower lip jutted out in a pout. "Pretty pwease."

"I'm hungry," Elisa piped up, her voice groggy from sleep. She was pretty sure she had completely silenced the entire car with that statement. Beck looked more than a little shocked.

Rebecca turned around in her seat, all but ignoring her seat belt laws to stare at her. In all her days, she had never heard the girl admit that. Not once. Her eyes narrowed.

"Weird. I didn't know you ate. I thought you survived on angst and dreams." She said with a wicked grin and teasing that only a best friend could get away with. Though there was an underlying sadness in her voice.

"I eat. Mean." The thin girl stated flatly, sticking her tongue out.

Elisa didn't eat much and what she did eat was few and far between, but it was about the time of day that she'd allow herself a snack - such as an apple. It was always apples with her or grapefruit or some small low calorie snack. It was the fruit that gave her some semblance of energy, though not much it could sometimes get her through a day without literally passing out.

"What about you, Red? Hungry, hafta pee, just want to get out of this car for like five seconds?" Bex asked, though it was clear that the third option was really her own needs. Obviously, long trips weren't her strong suit and she had begun feeling a little claustrophobic. She was someone who constantly kept herself busy, talking or just plain doing something; sitting in a car wasn't exactly conducive to that. For that reason alone, she was pretty annoying to road trip with.

Beck enjoyed the car journey. He was excited and the warmth of Elisa pressed against him was pleasant. He was the type to be rather fussy on long travels but today he seemed more content. It was like they were finally getting away from everything that was troubling them, and for a week none of that even needed to be thought about. It was peaceful and a weird sense of relief over came him. For once they were untouchable.

Beck played the games that Bex would throw upon them but tried to keep calm so the fuss wouldn't wake Elisa. After a while Millie began to join in and things actually became rather competitive. She felt as though Bex was actually making her feel more comfortable about the holiday. They kind of had a fair bit in common, well from what they knew from each others surfaces. The pair got on in a kind of awkward "I'm not supposed to like you" way.

"Can we puh-leeeaaase, stop for like water or something. I'm going to die."
"Pretty pwease."

"It's only you that has an issue with the length of time in the car. Everyone else is pretty happy but you just have to be the annoying little kid." Leon responded tutting. As much as he was joking there was a kind of underlying tone of sulkiness in his voice that was a little bit bitter.

"I'm hungry,"

The brunette pushed his head back into the head rest with a sigh, his whole counter statement being proven wrong and now they definitely had to pull over. "Fine." He murmured, turning in to the closest pit stop which was a weird kind of small shopping mall with plenty of little cafes, restaurants and arcades.

"Weird. I didn't know you ate. I thought you survived on angst and dreams."
"I eat. Mean."

Beck shot a really nasty and defensive look at Bex. As much as he knew they joked about things often he was really trying to coax her into eating in a sensitive way with out scaring her away from the idea. He might have been reading into it too much but it was like she was giving his girlfriend negative connotations linked with eating. Of course on the other hand Beck was just a very protective partner. "I'll pay and treat you to something nice so you can buy more shit hipster bracelets later." He said kissing her on the cheek.

"What about you, Red? Hungry, hafta pee, just want to get out of this car for like five seconds?"

"I can always eat. This pitstop looks really cute too." Millie replied in a lighthearted tone. Millie was not like Elisa, she wasn't fat but she was definitely a healthy weight with plenty of curves and a huge appetite and passion for nice food. Most of the nutrition seemed to go to her tits anyway.

The group climbed out of the car and headed towards the building.

"Fine."

A squeal of delight burst out of Rebecca's mouth and she was very nearly grinning ear to ear, like a child who had just been let loose at Disneyland. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She happily squeaked, pressing her lips against his cheek without thinking.

As sultry and flirty as Bex could be, she also had a weird childishness to her. Always excited, constantly running at a million miles an hour. It seemed she had endless amounts of energy.

"I'll pay and treat you to something nice so you can buy more shit hipster bracelets later."

Elisa gave him a half hearted smile, knowing that the moment they stopped somewhere she was only going to disappoint him by ordering or buying something small...something normal people wouldn't consider a meal, but a snack or tiny appetizer. It was unlikely she'd eat all of it either. "I think you secretly like the hipster bracelet." She teased, sleep still in her voice. "Next thing you know, you're going to be growing a beard and wearing a flannel."

She wrapped her arms around his waist in a close little snuggle. "It's okay. I love you anyways, closet hipster." He was so warm next to her that she didn't want to let go, only doing so when they started to exit the vehicle. The air outside the car smelled different from the air at home - cleaner, crisper. It was evident that they were getting closer and closer to the beach, farther away from their city.

She lifted her arms up and stretched her muscles after sitting for those few hours, her shirt lifting slightly to show her stomach - far leaner than even tiny Rebecca's. She examined her surroundings, realizing that she had never been to this particular rest spot. "Oooh. I didn't know this place existed."

The smell of the food from all of the restaurants both enticed and repulsed Elisa, who was already getting palpitations at the idea of eating any amount of food in front of people.

Bex nearly rolled her eyes at Beck's glare, feeling as though he was too tightly wound. It wasn't that she didn't care or that she wanted to encourage her friend. She was as aware as anyone who so much as glanced at Elisa that the poor girl clearly had a problem. Rebecca just didn't have a very sensitive mindset. She was loud and indiscreet and clearly had no problem with calling someone out if she felt the need. It was both a virtue and a damning flaw.

"Bex, you're spacing out, come ooon, you gnome." Elisa called, already a slight ways away from the car.

"Not all of us have stilts for legs!" The brunette countered with a pout, looking at all the people in the group before jogging to catch up. She was just barely under the five foot mark and the height difference between her and the rest was pretty hilarious.

Elisa grinned and stuck her tongue out as a tease.

"I can always eat. This pitstop looks really cute too."

"Oh my god, I could kill for some pizza right now." Bex said to the girl. Like Millie, she could eat for days without a care. She didn't gain a pound, and while she wasn't as busty as the red head, she too had a little more meat on her than her friend. Then again, if she could eat an entire buffet and chase it with a bar, she would. She dreaded the day she grew old and her metabolism dropped.

Rebecca was enjoying Millie's company, as well as Elisa's, and couldn't quite understand why they didn't get along. Perhaps it was Bex who just didn't give a fuck about anything and would speak with anyone, but other than a stupid boy she wasn't sure why they hated each other...Then again, Elisa had always been quieter and colder than most people...it had just seemed a little increased with Beck's friends. She knew she'd figure out why one day, but she wasn't sure how to go about asking in a way that wouldn't make everything more awkward than it already was. She glanced back at Elisa and Beck, smiling. "What do you guys want?"

Elisa was uncomfortable with the question and looked over to Beck, who would likely have an answer. "I don't care. I'll go wherever." She stared at their hands, which she had twined together after getting out of the car.

Ever since the incident with Malachai, she had been clinging to Beck a little more. Like Jess, Elisa had had more than a couple of nightmares - some she had told him about in passing and others she had completely ignored. She felt safe next to the blonde and, more importantly, she knew that he was okay. Even miles away, she was afraid that someone could come along and ruin everything. She knew it was irrational and she wondered if she was annoying him, or if he thought that she was just doing it as a territorial thing against Millie - though that probably did play a small part. Anxiety was crushing her, on top of everything else in her fucked up world.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Jesus Christ. It's like you have ADHD or something. You should be tested. I'm not even joking everyone else can sit in the car well behav-" He was cut short as her lips met his cheek. At first he began to grin widely, clearly very pleased with her token of appreciation but as he began to leave the car the smile faded. She was fake. This was all fake. He thought about telling her to stop. He would say something like 'If we are just fucking why are you doing all this cheesy stuff' but that would just send her running; well maybe anything was better than this game.

"I think you secretly like the hipster bracelet.
"Next thing you know, you're going to be growing a beard and wearing a flannel."
"It's okay. I love you anyways, closet hipster."

"It's you. You are rubbing off on me. Clearly its a contagious disease." Beck teased, leaning away from her like she had a bad case of the flu. "I tell you what if you find me a hipster bracelet I like, you could always get me a gift. Try and change my mind. I dare ya." The blonde said, prodding Elisa with a chuckle.

"Bex, you're spacing out, come ooon, you gnome."
"Not all of us have stilts for legs!"

For a second or two there was silence before Leon suddenly piped up with "Bex has nice legs." The tone was simplistic and sounded almost it wasn't meant to be said aloud. It probably wasn't. It definitely wasn't. He was finding it hard to pretend to be angry at her.

"Oh my god, I could kill for some pizza right now.
"

"Fucking hell. I could do with some pizza...and dough balls and garlic bread. My god. I'm actually starving." Millie exclaimed, now piping up as conversation was directed towards her and drew her attention away from Beck and Elisa's sickening canoodles. The red head was already finding the journey harder than she thought, but she wasn't one to voice her pain. It was a bad idea for her to have come in the first place. She decided to go to become closer to Beck but instead was just having to witness his love for someone else.

"What do you guys want?"
"I don't care. I'll go wherever."

As they entered the large building Millie spoke up again. "That looks like a nice Italian place. We could eat there? It won't just be pizza. I'm sure there is plenty of choice." She informed, seemingly directed towards the idea of Elisa having picky eating habits. "Or we could meet up later. I'm pretty set on pizza though."

"Fine, but the second you start sporting a man bun with that hair of yours is the second I stop shaving my legs." Elisa laughed, lightly pulling at one of the strands hanging in his face. When she brushed it away from his cheek, she stared at him for a moment with a small smile on her face - in awe of him and how handsome he was, how lucky she was to have him stand by her despite all of her flaws. She wrapped her hand through his and continued walking with the others.

"Bex has nice legs."

"Do I?" Rebecca was nearly grinning ear to ear and she winked at him, teasing and flirting. First she had gotten him to smile and now he was complimenting her, intentionally or not, she was glad he wasn't completely ignoring her. She wasn't sure why she was fighting so hard to keep his attention, chalking it up to the fact that she was always the dumper and never the dumpee. Not that any dumping would really go on...it was more like walking away and she made sure she was always the one to walk away first. She didn't want to walk away yet.

Maybe she liked him.

Maybe she liked him a little too much.

She hadn't decided yet.

"Fucking hell. I could do with some pizza...and dough balls and garlic bread. My god. I'm actually starving."

"Garlic bread, cinnamon sticks...Ugh, I'm drooling. Why'd you bring up the bread, Red? WHY? Now I'm going to eat exorbitant amounts and become fat before we even get to the beach and I brought a super cute bikini too." Bex fake pouted and leaned against Millie, putting all of her weight at the other girl as though they had been friends forever and it was acceptable teasing. "See, I can feel the pounds mounting as we speak. Delicious, pizza-y pooounds."

"That looks like a nice Italian place. We could eat there? It won't just be pizza. I'm sure there is plenty of choice."

Elisa turned her attention to Millie and bit down on her lip. There was bound to be a salad in there, right? Salads were easy. She could pick at the lettuce and hide how much she wasn't actually eating. "I'm sure I can find something, you know?" She said with an uncomfortable smile. It was, perhaps, the first thing she had said to the red head that didn't carry any animosity or bitterness.

Elisa wasn't sure what Beck had told Leon and Millie about her, if he told them anything. She knew she was very thin and she knew it was obvious, despite the layers of clothing she often threw on herself. She just hoped that most people passed it off as a fast metabolism, paired with her height that made her look the way she did. Then again, Millie was a medical student and probably not stupid - as much as Elisa wished she was. Either way, she found herself inconspicuously hiding herself slightly behind Beck.

"And oh my god, who wouldn't want pizza? It's the fruit of the GODS." Bex chimed in, as she often did.

"Fine, but the second you start sporting a man bun with that hair of yours is the second I stop shaving my legs."

Beck came up behind her and grabbed at her hips. "Hey I'm not that shallow." He said in a jokey tone before leaning closer towards her and murmured "I'd still fuck you no matter what." The blonde smiled, thinking about spending a whole week with Elisa and noting how intimate they could get each night.

"Garlic bread, cinnamon sticks...Ugh, I'm drooling. Why'd you bring up the bread, Red? WHY? Now I'm going to eat exorbitant amounts and become fat before we even get to the beach and I brought a super cute bikini too."
"See, I can feel the pounds mounting as we speak. Delicious, pizza-y pooounds."

As much as Millie did feel a little uncomfortable and...weirded out by Bex's behaviour she still happily played along. "I'm sure you will still look great in a bikini no matter how much you stuff your face." She complimented, but in a rather innocent of way.

"I'm sure I can find something, you know?"
"And oh my god, who wouldn't want pizza? It's the fruit of the GODS.".

As much as the redhead hated Millie with every bone in her body she still found herself holding a smile that hid a lot of pity for the young woman. She knew what anorexia did and how it completely consumed and destroyed people, physically and mentally. As much as she had never researched psychology she still had a great amount of in depth knowledge about the biological part of it and how small of a line she was walking before her body completely just packed itself in.

The group headed towards the restaurant and began to examine to menu that was held on big stands outside. "Oh, its a little pricey." She whispered, almost as though she did not want to be heard but Leon quickly stepped in as though it was nothing. "No worries. I got you." It was really fucking weird how he was always supporting her with no second thoughts. At times it did appear as though he was rather interested in Millie but of course with her undenying love for Beck the girl just responded in the most unromantic of ways, but that didn't mean he didn't appreciate his generosity. It didn't look like he was paying for her for her attention however, it was something much more kind. "Lets just get something big we can share, and some dough balls!" Millie requested, jumping from foot to foot, clearly very excited.

"What do you fancy? There is some nice baguettes and pastas. I think I'm gunna get a baguette." Beck told Elisa, trying to make the situation seem normal and not too much of a deal, still his voice was too monotone and he seemed nervous. She needed to eat and he needed to persuade her it was okay.

ooc|

Okay but what the hell is a dough ball. XD

"Hey I'm not that shallow."
"I'd still fuck you no matter what."

At that, Elisa's face turned bright red and she looked away from him while grinning like an idiot. It's not like she had a lot of time to spend with Beck, at least not nearly enough of just the two of them. Between her desperately trying to keep up with school, stay home with Jess and everything else in her world; they were busy. The constant fear of Malachai at home wasn't the biggest turn on either. "Pervert." She called him, her cheeks still pink, but that didn't stop her from leaning in and giving him a small kiss on his neck.

"What do you fancy? There is some nice baguettes and pastas. I think I'm gunna get a baguette."

She tried her best to keep him from noticing her fidgeting hands as she stared at the menu. Everything on it was carb and calorie loaded, something that made her nervous to just think about. She glanced over the options, all of which had calories listed - making it easier for someone like her to pick and choose. Nearly every meal had more than she was willing to eat in an entire day, as she had lowered her count to dangerous new lows. "Caprese salad, probably." She said, still staring intensely at the menu.

Caprese salad had cheese, and there was no doubt in her mind that she'd avoid that on her plate, but she could deal with the rest - including the chicken breast it came with. Odds were she wouldn't eat much of it anyway, and she'd do her best to hide how little she was truly eating.

The idea of eating in front of the group was making her anxious. Especially as she added and subtracted all the numbers that went into food in her head. She had gotten strangely good at figuring out the exact calorie count of things, depending on how much she ate and what she omitted entirely. It had been a while since she had eaten, especially in front of Beck - the last time she could remember being the disastrous festival where she met Millie. Since then she had mostly kept eating at home, in her room, in completely privacy where no one would comment on how little or how much she was eating.

"I'm sure you will still look great in a bikini no matter how much you stuff your face."
"Lets just get something big we can share, and some dough balls!"

Rebecca was more than a little happy with Millie's compliment, preferring to take them wherever she could get them. She beamed for a moment before she was overtaken with jealousy, by Leon and Millie's exchange. It wasn't that she was mad at either of them, in fact that rather strong emotion was a little shocking and it was more than likely the surprise that showed through on her face. She glanced at Leon, albeit briefly, and composed herself - and walked up to the host.

Luckily for her, it was a boy about her age and not entirely unattractive - though certainly not on the same level as Leon - and she had to stop herself from grinning like he was prey. "Hey there." She said, in the perky way that she did most things, leaning slightly on the counter so that her shirt became a little more revealing.

The boy noticeably swallowed, but maintained his composure. "How many for your table?" He said, smiling politely and trying his best to keep his eyes from wandering.

"Let's see, five I believe? I mean unless you wanna join us," She smiled, tilting her head to the side.

"Boss probably wouldn't like that. But I've got a great table for you, just this way." He motioned for the group to follow.

"Oh, boo. Maybe later then." She gave him her best fake pout.

The host took them to a table by a window, which overlooked the shopping center of the small town that had made it to. It was nice and probably well worth her flirting. The nice host, who's name tag read Andrew, placed their table settings and pulled out Rebecca's seat for her, while asking for drink orders.

"I'll be right back with those drinks." He said with a smile, his hand curiously placed on Bex's shoulder before he walked away.

Elisa looked at her friend wide eyed with one eyebrow raised. "Was that necessary?" She questioned.

"I mean, the service is superb isn't it?" Rebecca replied with a satisfied grin.

Elisa rolled her eyes and laughed, noting that her friend had laid in on a little heavy but not saying anything else. She briefly wondered if she was trying to make Leon jealous or if she was just trying to show him that she could do anything she pleased. Either way, she tried not to think too long on her friends flirtatious behavior - often finding that it lead to more headaches than not.

"Pervert."

"Hmph." He huffed simply, unable to remove the grin on his face. His mind wandered, maybe to places they shouldn't have done in public....

"Caprese salad, probably."

Beck frowned and kind of looked away from her to hide his expression. It wasn't enough to sustain her, but in another sense there was enough in it to be decent. It wasn't just leaves. "Alright but since I'm paying you better finish it all. Fancy a starter? Some soup? We could share a garlic bread?" He said, trying to persuade her into consuming a little more in the most suttle of ways. He wanted to talk to Elisa about food in a way that didn't seem like he was demonising it. Food was a good thing and he wanted to show her how perfectly normal it was to eat.

"Hey there."
"How many for your table?"
"Let's see, five I believe? I mean unless you wanna join us,"
"Boss probably wouldn't like that. But I've got a great table for you, just this way."
"Oh, boo. Maybe later then."

Leon could feel his fists clenching absently. He wasn't sure if she was purposely trying to stir him or naturally very flirty and legitimately interested. After all she kept making sure he was certain about them just being friends with benefits. Either way he was very silent as they seated themselves at the table; his lips pressed into a thin line.

"I'll be right back with those drinks."
"Was that necessary?"
"I mean, the service is superb isn't it?"

"He seems like a cunt." Leon chimed in very quickly. He spoke so fast that the words kind of mingled together and didn't really sound correct anymore. He would have ordered something extremely alcoholic if he had not been driving the rest of the journey. He kind of thought on asking Beck to drive but to be honest he seriously didn't trust him with his car. Millie meanwhile was laughing so hard that noise wasn't actually leaving her mouth, she was just kind of clutching her ribs and lightly squealing. Clearly she had caught on to this small game.

"Alright but since I'm paying you better finish it all. Fancy a starter? Some soup? We could share a garlic bread?"

Elisa smiled as a response, knowing full well that she wouldn't be doing any of those things. At least, not of her own accord. She knew he was trying to help and that he was worried for her...she just wished he wouldn't pay so much attention to it. She wasn't hospitalized with a tube shoved up her nose or officially dying and she wished that was enough to pacify him. Besides, thin was society's main beauty goal and she was thin. Not as thin as she would like, and it seemed that every time she reached a goal weight that it just wasn't good enough. She'd tell herself that just "three more pounds would do." Having control over her weight as a comfort and a curse. "We'll see." She answered him, leaning her head on his shoulder.

"He seems like a cunt."

Rebecca raised an eyebrow at him and smiled. She was thoroughly amused. "Damn, Leon. Harsh words for someone who literally didn't say a word to you. Talk about saying what you really feel." She teased, clearly proud of herself for having caused such a reaction from him. If he was jealous that meant he still wanted her, didn't it? She couldn't see why he wouldn't, figuring she was every guys wet dream: a girl who wanted nothing but sex and didn't require any strings. She had a hard time understanding anyone who wanted a relationship, seems her limited experience of them had ended with hurt.

Millie's funny, quiet laughing was also pretty hilarious to Bex and she sent her a wink.

---

It was only a short while later that the waiter came back to take the orders, heavily flirting with Bex all the while and left to come back again with the food. The smells of marinara and pasta wafted through the air and cheesy Italian songs played over the speakers. The restaurant was cute, with murals painted on each wall and dimly lit. It was gimmicky but nice, if not a little romantic. Their table by the window showed all the other little shops, from a candy store to a coffee place. It was a nice little pit stop town.

Bex was thoroughly excited when pizza was sat in front of her - nicely accented with a piece of basil on top. "I have found love in your cheese." She spoke to her food like a child and was grinning like an idiot.

"It's like you're six or really high, but all of the time." Elisa chimed in with an eyeroll, though she was clearly entertained. Bex, at the end of the day, was hyper and full of life - so completely different from herself and Elisa envied her for it.

While Bex dug into her pizza like she had never eaten in her life, Elisa mindlessly cut a tomato into four or five different pieces with her fork and continued to do so with the rest of her plate. She didn't even think about how she did it anymore, it had simply become habit. The more pieces she cut into it the more it looked like she had eaten when she simply hadn't. Occasionally she'd pop a piece into her mouth, but it was few and far between.

"Maybe I am high all of the time or maybe I'm really six. The world may never know." Bex responded cheerfully. "I like to think it's charming or annoying. Both could be beneficial."

"How is annoying even beneficial?" Elisa asked, wondering what logic her friend would pull this time.

"Those who find you being you annoying and leave you aren't worth keeping around, are they?" The brunette said with a grin, pulling her tongue ring between her teeth.

So the logic carried a grain of truth.

"If I said what I really feel I'm pretty sure I would be removed from the restaurant."

Rebecca cackled and shook her head. "Pump your breaks, man. It's not that bigga deal." The tension growing in the air didn't go unnoticed by the girl though and she was pretty sure this was going to go somewhere she hadn't fully anticipated. He sounded so angry and she had just meant to make him jealous. She took a sip of her soda, narrowing her eyes on his over the brim of the cup.

"Thought you didn't do relationships anyway. So that doesn't even matter in context to yourself."
"I guess that's why you are annoying as fuck. Nobody to scare off."

And there it was. "No one was talking about those types relationships and you don't seem to mind me when I'm sucking your dick, but hey that's not my business." Rebecca retorted with an eye roll and while she acted like she couldn't give less of a fuck, she'd be lying if she said his words didn't sting like Hell. Still though, she didn't shrink away. It was as though she had squared her shoulders up even more, challenging him to go off again. As if she were saying 'Go ahead, prove my point.' She wasn't sure what point he'd be proving; that people weren't worth keeping around or if relationships weren't worth the trouble. Maybe both.

"How is your food? It sure looks nice."

Elisa took a small bite of her food and smiled at Beck, as though nothing at all were wrong. "It's great, wanna try?" She said, slightly more chipper than normal as she put more food on her fork and offered it to her clearly worried boyfriend. She wished he would stop paying attention, most people didn't notice if they didn't pay close attention because the motions looked normal. If you weren't watching her plate, nothing would seem out of the ordinary. She cut her food, she picked it up to eat it, she offered it to people who said it looked good...Who would question that, unless they were paying attention to the fact that she rarely took a bite herself? It was the reason she had avoided eating in front of Beck so many times.

When they were just friends at school, who met in the hallways...it had been so much easier. She could 'forget her lunch' and he had always been too distracted to care. She thought back to the school and how funny their friendship had been at first. Back then she was just a quiet girl who read way too many books and wore sweaters in the summer. He was just a flirt who threw his fists around too much. It felt like years ago and not just months.

How could so much change? She felt like an entirely different person than she had been all the time ago, but it wasn't for the better. She was falling apart and she couldn't help but feel selfish for having Beck hold her together.

Elisa shook the thoughts from her head and turned her attention to the awkwardness that had evolved in front of her with Bex and Leon, while Millie happily ate away at her food. Though she had a hard time believing the other girl could entirely ignore it. "So...uh...Millie this place is like super cute, right? It's so lucky she found it, huh Beck?" She said, though she wasn't entirely comfortable conversing with the red head, she thought it might dissolve some of the weird tension.

"Pump your breaks, man. It's not that bigga deal."

Leon lightly slammed his fist on the desk and rolled his eyes tutting. "To you it's not. Clearly." He said. He needed to stop. This was getting way too personal way too quickly. It was dumb. He wasn't even jealous anymore, he was pissed off at how it pleased her so much to wind him up and of course the only reason it would wind him up was due to having more intimate feelings.

"No one was talking about those types relationships and you don't seem to mind me when I'm sucking your dick, but hey that's not my business."

"Of course I don't mind." Leon said, letting out a rather nasty laugh as he pushed the tongue to the side of his cheek, almost as though he was trying to hold it there. "I thought that was the point Miss 'No strings attached!' Are you bothered by the fact I find you irritating? I thought the point was that it didn't matter as long as you are on my cock? That's what you are getting at anyway." He was constantly contradicting himself; morphing himself into an asshole as the conversation went on. It was like he was mocking Bex's ideology because she tried to stir a reaction from him.

Millie huffed and began to look distressed. "Guy's stoppp. It's the start of a nice holiday together and this isn't the way to begin it. Plus it's not exactly dinner conversation." She scolded in a soft manner but still had the courage to speak up about their odd tiff.

"It's great, wanna try?"

Beck hesitated for a second before leaning down and taking a small bite off the fork, leaving half the food remaining. He did a sarcastic anime girl sounding 'homph' sound as he took the bite and then smiled. "It is really nice." He praised, but then didn't know how to follow up. He wanted to encourage her to eat more but was not sure how he could go about it. He just hoped that she wanted to get better and was at least willing to try, not for him, but for herself.

"So...uh...Millie this place is like super cute, right? It's so lucky she found it, huh Beck?"

"Yeah um.." Millie tried her best to give an honest smile but jealousy always got the better of her and made her bitter. She tried her best to be civil, for Beck's sake. If he was happy then she would not be low enough to try and change that. "I don't have much to compare it to being honest. I don't get to eat out too often, but this place seems really cute. I'm sure we can find more nice places to eat and drink when we arrive. I'm so fucking excited. We ought to plan the things we want to do...to make sure we fit everything in."

"To you it's not. Clearly."

The sound of Leon's fist hitting the table gave Rebecca a start and she visibly jumped, staring at him in disbelief. "I thought we were on the same page." She said, expressing her disappointment with a frown. It was obvious that she was fuming by that point. Bex had simply wanted to make him a little jealous, not piss him the fuck off. In fact, up until now she had convinced herself that he was okay with hooking up and nothing else.

"I thought that was the point Miss 'No strings attached!' Are you bothered by the fact I find you irritating? I thought the point was that it didn't matter as long as you are on my cock? That's what you are getting at anyway."

"I don't think that I'm the one with the problem here." She said, rolling her eyes in a blase manner, though it was clear that she was getting angry and caring far too much. "I was having a perfectly fun time until you went and got all pissy about it."

"Guy's stoppp. It's the start of a nice holiday together and this isn't the way to begin it. Plus it's not exactly dinner conversation."

"Yeah, you're right. I think we should definitely stop." Rebecca said, emphasizing the word 'stop' as she stared Leon dead in the face. As it often was with her, she wasn't sure what she was actually trying to say. Stop bickering or stop their...agreement altogether. She knew she couldn't give him more than sex, but at the same time she wanted to make him jealous, tease him, and have him all to herself. It's not worth it. Rebecca told herself over and over, honestly feeling like she didn't deserve it anyhow. She was a fucktoy and that was all she would make herself available to be.

Elisa was flabbergasted that Bex and Leon's conversation was happening at all, let alone in public. "I'm pretty sure the whole restaurant doesn't want to know about your sex life...just saying, maybe you could wait till you're alone to finish that discussion?"

"Well, I mean, I don't wanna talk about it anyways." Bex responded to her friend rather sharply, standing up and grabbing her purse and walking towards the back of the restaurant. "I gotta go to the bathroom."

Elisa clicked her tongue against her teeth and shook her head as her friend disappeared. "Oh man, she's like pissed." She said, nibble on a small piece of chicken.

"I don't have much to compare it to being honest. I don't get to eat out too often, but this place seems really cute. I'm sure we can find more nice places to eat and drink when we arrive. I'm so fucking excited. We ought to plan the things we want to do...to make sure we fit everything in."

It was kind of funny and cute, watching the red head get excited about something that Elisa had done a thousand times in her life. She knew that the girl didn't have near as much money at her disposal, but sometimes it was still shocking that trips and frequent vacations weren't something everyone experienced. "Just wait till we get where we're going. It's adorable. Totally different than where we live and the people are great too. The culture on the coast is different than the city. So much different." Elisa said with a smile, though there was clearly some lingering awkwardness in her tone. It didn't help that now her normally-better-at-socializing friend had walked away to do lord knows what in the bathroom.

"It's a little hipster though, Beck. You might want to be careful or the locals might try and turn you into one of them." She teased her boyfriend, nudging him in the side. "There's a couple of aquariums that are really cool to go to, art galleries too - though they're more modern art exhibits than anything else...And there's tons of performance art."
