A girl who comes to find herself hating most human beings; who keeps quiet about any and all things, including her own frustrations.
Melanie has the tendency to keep to herself. She isn't one to socialize much and normally her (short lived) conversations are with doctors who she could care less about. That's another thing about her: Melanie finds it hard to show concern for other human beings, when it was them who locked her away in the first place. Positive emotions never did come easy, either.
The only object that Melanie can claim as her own is a tattered novel, which doubles as a slight stress relief when she throws it against walls from time to time.
Melanie made attempts as a child to make friends, but she was always a strange girl from the beginning and she was more than aware of it. The first incident was the moment she got into an argument during arts and crafts with another kid her own age as a pair of scissors suddenly went flying his way. Melanie played the innocent card and didn't take the blame for it.
Over the years she got better at taking control of her power, but there were still those moments where things would get out of hand. Melanie would take her frustrations out on her own brother-- almost getting him killed when a knife went barreling towards him, along with her mother and one close friend.
As her parents began to realize Melanie's supposed "gift," it was then that word got out of a specific place for people just like her. Once Melanie reached the age of sixteen, her mother made a final decision as she came to the conclusion that people were in constant danger around her own daughter.
The institution so far had only helped the girl become more bitter towards others.
