Introduction
The Backstory
This World, this Earth, is very much like our own. However, among humans, there is a certain different race living there. They are Nekos - a humanoid race with the only things to tell them apart from humans that are their cat-like eyes, ears and tails. They are treated mostly like humans, they have jobs, families, a social life, but prejudices are still there. Much like they can be prejudiced against someone's religion, skin colour or sexual preference - some humans are prejudiced against Nekos. Same goes for Nekos - some don't like humans very much, especially 'Masters'.
There is one major difference between Humans and Nekos though, although Nekos can work, get married and do all the things that humans can, they can also choose (or be forced to ) take a Human Master. Generally, Nekos can choose whether to decline or accept the offer of the Human. If they choose to accept, the Master is then responsible for the Neko's life - shelter, food, education, health, etc. Therefore, most Masters are rather wealthy people.
Nekos with Masters call themselves the 'Royales' and many, but not all, think themselves superior to the Master-less Nekos - which they call 'Alley Cats'. The name started off as an insult but the Alley Cat Nekos quickly embraced the name and take pride in the name. Just like the Royales think themselves better, the Alley Cats believe that because of their independence, they are better, as Royales depend on their Masters for pretty much everything.
The Nekos are also separated, much like cats, into Pedigree and Non-Pedigree Breeds. There is not much hatred between those, but humans tend to pick Pedigree Nekos over Non-Pedigree for bragging rights or something. More often than not, the Alley Cats are Non-Pedigree due to their natural thirst to prove themselves.
Nekos also have an interesting ability to be able to change into cats. When in that form, you wouldn't be able to tell difference from them and normal cats. However, they are able to communicate with other Nekos in that form. Also, if the Neko changed the colour of their hair or something, it would not be transferred over to their Cat-Form. The Nekos can also be in this form for limited amount of time. The average length is 3 hours while the longest recorded time was made by a Russian Blue cat Dimitri over thirty years before the current time which was 23 hours and 47 minutes.
There are no restrictions on Human-Neko relationships. They can become lovers, get married to each other and have children. As always, there are always those who oppose those sort of relationships.

Masters and Their Royales
Right, after I get all the info back, I'll post here what characters are taken in the Master department. Or in a relationship or something :D

If she'd been in human form, Russet would have let out a cackling laughter. But caught in the twisting blankets, the small kitten was rendered completely immobile. She was about to let out a meow for help when the butler suddenly entered the room. She'd never been fond of the man. When talking to him she felt as if he looked down his nose at her. He probably was; he happened to be at least a foot and a half taller than her in her petite size. His voice made her think of fingernails screeching down a chalkboard. Not pleasant. What-so-ever. She listened carefully to him speak and couldn't help but think of Yuen's mother in the process. A charming woman with flaring tempers who just so happened to be pregnant. What a wonderful experience. Although she was allowed to live in the house with the family, Russet was under strict conditions to be polite and not to cause a ruckus. It was torture, especially when there was an opportunity to mess with Yuen. Sometimes she wondered if his family didn't like the fact that she was a neko, but they'd promised to take good care of her while her parents and brothers were elsewhere.
After what felt like hours the butler finally left and the small fluffy kitten writhed where she was trapped. Her struggling paid off, although her head was all that she managed to pop out into the open air. The bed bounced as Yuen jumped back into its comfort and Russet was thrown off balance. She let out a yelp as she toppled over. Whining, she pulled herself free of the sheets and shook herself. Bright blue eyes alert and aware, she searched for where Yuen had placed her nightgown. While searching, the kitten pounced up to sit on the boy's head, snuggled in his hair.

James made a face at the cat hissing and clawing violently at Rusty. He wonder why it seemed so angry... He let his thoughts wander for a moment before sighing. "Well then what are we going to do? I don't have all day..." James rubbed his forehead and shoved his hands into his pockets, grumbling a little.
It was true, though, James only had a few more hours before he should head home and home seemed a long walk from here. He blinked. "So... Do you guys know of anywhere else? I mean, we could go find a place to chill too but That sounds like what we're doing now." He shrugged. He really was itching to know these nekos and how they worked and stuff,

Nina and Momo got out of the limo and stood in awe at the building that was now their new home. It was large, and had alot of space to run around in. They had never been in a home this large, and had lived in a room the size of a medium sized cubical. They looked at each other and smiled. They finally had a place that they could call a home.
They went to the trunk and grabbed their chests, and then followed Drake in through the front door. They looked around even more in awe at the interior of the mansion. After gocking at the inside of their new home, they looked at Drake.
"Ummm.........I don't mean to be, but where are we going to sleep?" Nina asked quietly.

Thorn heard what Crystal said but pretended like she didn't hear her. Thorn made sound that was between a snort and a meow which came out like sounding like a meow-th. Turning her gaze on James, she saw him sit down on the grass. Thorn hoped he didn't hear Crystal but when Crystal adjusted her hold on Thorn, Thorn jumped out of Crystal's arms and landed on the grass quietly. The furry cat walked up to James and sat down a few inches beside him. She looked up at Crystal with bored, but playful eyes. Then turned her gaze on Rusty, she took her time glaring up at him, ignoring the fact that he could easily kick her or hurt her.
"Don't you dare speak of the hospital and the gangs again, or you lose your tongue." she said to him, still a cat. Suddenly she turned to James and started swatting at his jacket's pocket where the money was at. She knew James didn't hear what she just said, because he was a human. Acting as if she never threatened Rusty she started playing with James pocket, knowing his wallet was in there, but made no intentions on fishing it out and running away with it like she planned.

Drake looks back at the two the limo driver driving off in the distance. "follow me" i take Momo's chest and lead them both upstairs to two very large adjacent rooms with an amazing view at the nearby woods. "you two can choose which one you want my room is right down the hall take a left, then a right, then a left and keep walking straight and im at the end there." he sets the chest down and leaves to go to his room. once there he changes into a swimsuit. he runs out to the pool and jumps in and begins doing laps thinking about going to the park that day.

Nina and Momo looked at each other and smiled. Momo took the room at the right end of that hall and Nina the left.
Nina opened the door to her new room and was in awe at how huge it was. The room had a balcony, on the right side of her room, that was round and sort of overlooked the pool. There was a large white bed closer to the double glass doors that lead out onto the balcony. Facing the end of the bed was a bathroom that had: a Jacuzzi tub, bath tub, a stand-up shower, toilet, counter with sink, and a large storage cabinet that held only a couple of white towels. The side room next to the bathroom was a large walk-in closet that had: two display counters for jewelry, several dressers and hanging areas, and make-up table with a large mirror. The room also had a nice big, gas fireplace in the center of it. Around it were a couple of chairs and a glass coffee table. On the left side of the room was a big bookshelf with nothing in it.
"Looks like I'm going to need to go shopping" Nina said to herself, while looking around and taking it all in.
Momo walked into her new room and gasped. She had never been in a room this large before. The layout of the, and things in it are much like Nina's room. But in this room the balcony is on the left side and the bookshelf on the right. The closet was also on the right side of the room as well. Momo frowned a little. She didn't like the all white room, it kind of scared her.
"I have to go shopping, and put some color into this room" she said out loud to herself.
After looking around their rooms for awhile, they took out their swimsuits and walked together over to the pool. Nina and Momo watched as Drake swam around in the pool for awhile, smiling. Nina walked over to the stairs that lead into the pool and walked down them slowly. Once in the water she swam around for alittle while, diving down to see if she could touch the bottom of the pool. Momo sat on the edge of the pool and dipped her feet in. She didn't like to swim, but loves seeing her older sister do tricks in the water.

Life yawned and turned back into his regular form almost crushing Death. "My names Life, Life Rachael, and this is my sister." he said helping her off the ground. she was still a little dizzy from being crushed without warning.

Death lifted herself up, brushing the dirt off her clothes. "And i'm Death, Death Rachael." she said looking over at her brother. she was wondering if anyone was going to notice they were twins. it sounded weird but it had actually happened before, someone not knowing they were twins.

James smiled at Life and Death. "Nice to meet yo-." He said, having been cut off when the cat began playing with his pocket. He looked at it, happy it had calmed own and he reached over with his hand and patted the top of it's head. He wondered if it was a neko, but figured it would've shifted by now so he sat there patting the cat and attempting to keep it out of his pocket.

Crystal started to get uncomfortable with so many new nekos on top of that she was getting really hungry all she had eaten was the sugar cookie that James gave her. She could hear her stomach growl a little louder. Crystal thought and decided she would go dumpster diving at the nearest store where there was plenty of food being thrown away due to the new shippment of fresher foods. "I need to go now." She said gently. "Its getting late for me."

Rusty looked at the cat - neko, he corrected himself. Why would it be so angry at him looking out for them? He knew of the gangs - hell, he worked in a bar that practically belonged to one of them. But he didn't follow them. Why would he?
Rusty decided not to mention the gangs again. The neko may have some bad experience with them, and he didn't want to hurt their feelings. Yet, if it came to it, he could defend himself. Surviving his entire life showed that he could fight - he grew up fighting and defending after all.

Kali stepped into her work place a calm cool confident smile on her face. She couldnt let anyone know what happened. She had left Kit in the care of a very trusted neighbor. She normally left her at home with the neighbors to watch for anything to happen...but sh was basically self governed. She smiled, Kit was a smart little girl.

"oh you know, defending my heavy weight tidal gets rough" Kali joked as she took her pace next to her human friend. He wanted her to he his, litterally. He had asked her many times to her her master. Drake finishes his lap by bumping into Nina's chest. "oh im so... whoa" he stares first at Nina then at Momo. "wow you two are looking great" he is astounded by how attractive they are and thought 'i should of done this sooner' he quickly banishes the thoughts from his head and gets out to leave realizing he is soon to be in an awkward position. he rushes into the house closing the door behind him.

Thorn felt James pat her head, but ignored it until she heard Death and Life appear. She turned her head sharply toward them, narrowing her eyes she got up and stood beside Crystal, then heard her next words. Suddenly happy Thorn turned around and stared walking casually away from the group of nekos. After she walked a few feet away from the group, she looked back at Crystal. She stood there waiting for Crystal.
"Aren't you coming?" She asked. Tilting her side ways she looked like a totally innocent cat, but in truth she wasn't, she never was. Thorn quickly remembered she was in her cat form for at least an hour, so she has about another hour and 30 minutes left in her cat form.

Nina felt someone bump into her and then looked down to see Drake. She smiled at him, then swam back alittle. She didn't make a big scene out of what happened because her and Momo were told at a young age that if their master touched them in anyway to just take it as a compliment. Nina swam up to where Momo was sitting and they both watched as Drake got out of the pool and ran into the house. They looked at each other, smiled, and then giggled.
"I'm going to swim alittle longer if you don't mind Momo" Nina said swimming away from the edge of the pool.
"I'm ok with that. It's not that hot out today so I should be fine" Momo replied, laying down and closing her eyes, with her feet still in the water.

James blinked as people came and went, shrugging a little as Crystal ran off with the cat he had been petting. He slowly turned to look at Rusty. "Man, that cat was angry with you." James said then grinned a litle before falling back to lay in the grass.
"I should be heading home myself but I don't want to." He shrugged again, putting his hands behind his head and closing hus eyes. He was simply taking in the sunlight that was left for now. He didn't mind much if his mother had a cow when he got home, she usually did.

Drake peeks out of the window back at the two beautiful nekos and goes to his room and changes back into his normal clothes and goes to the TV room. he sits down and flips the channel trying to clear his mind. 'what am i going to do, its not right to date nekos right? oh i dont know...they are pretty hot though, especially Nina' i finally leave it on the cooking channel where they are making a dish made with chicken and fish.

After awhile Nina got out of the pool, and dried off. The two of them walked up to their rooms to change into normal clothes. When they reached the top of the stairs and were about to part ways, Momo turned to Nina.
"I'm going to take a nap for awhile. I'm not felling so well, I think I might have gotten to much sun." Momo said weekly.
"No problem. You get some rest and feel better. Ok Sis." Nina replied sweetly.
"Alright. Wake me for diner ok." Momo said while walking to her room.
"Will do" Nina replied while walking to her own room.

Kali pulled out from work early, the days events having gotten to her. She was still bruised, and still hurt like hell but she knew she needed to get home and make sure her kit was okay, emotionally and physically. As she walked she saw a group of people talking, suddenly a girl and a cat ran away, then the male neko lay in the grass. She wondered if they where okay.

"not at all" he slides over and begins flipping the channel again glancing over at Nina every once in a while. he looks away wondering what to talk about until he finally comes up with "so...uhm how are you?" he realizes it sounded better in his head and he wished he hadn't said it. he starts fiddling with the remote accidentally switching to a movie where the actors where kissing. i quickly change it again.

James, being human, was probably unsure of all the noises around him. He figured that Rusty, Death and Life knew what was around them for sure. He sat upright again, with his hands still behind his head and tipped his head to the side. "Hmph..." He said, looking out into the grass and saw a few other people, or neko's, walking by. He only wished he knew more. He shrugged again, though and puffed out a little, his breath drifting up where all breaths go.
James had been a spoiled child, until May had been born. He had had anything and everything he wanted. Honestly, though, it hadn't been as much as his parents hoped. He just wanted his dad home, the only thing he never asked because he knew the response would be threatening. He was fitting in, right now, though. It made him happy to be looked at as normal. To have friends. He didn't have many secrets from these people, besides the fact that he was rich.
Someday, someday soon he'd find that he could meet whomever he pleased, but still want to be with these people. Regular people who where looked down upon by society, but loved by him. He thought momentarily of the possibilities there where in order to have a neko in his home. His mother had one, Lara, but she was like one of the maids to his mom, more than just a pet. He wished his mother wasn't so selfish. That his father cared more about family than money but these where wishes and they'd never come true. His parents where who they where and he couldn't change that. This made him sad, and his smile faded slowly as he sat there in brief silence. These guys must have it rough... He thought slowly, blinking at them. They looked like bar tenders, thieves and prostitutes in all honesty but they where good and gentle.
How could people like them be stuck in such an awful position? James thought silently. "Well..." James said, slowly getting up. "This has been fun and all but I might need to head home..." Kali sighed and knew it was best to not get in anyones business. She continued on as she glanced down at her watch. Work hadnt been long but it had been stressful. Her mind didnt seem to be in the correct place today.
Who could blame her though? She had almost lost Kit to a speeding car, that Kali was absolutely sure MEANT to hit her, and was all beat up in the process. Her shoulders hurt and so did her back. She was sure they where black and blue by now and her scraped where probably scabbed over, unfortunately it still hurt.

James got mugged and got the crap beat out of him. Life and Death went with him to one of his houses but then the person playing life and death quit. I introduced jenna and James and Jenna met up at the Mall where they are now. Russten and Yuen went on a date and a small fight seems to be breaking out between Yuen and some guys who were making fun of Russet. Drake and the twins are currently being held hostage by some random crazed guy but I think they're about free of that. Thorn and Skylar are at Thorn's house and one of them is sewing and they were having a play fight. Charm is currently at Kei (My other character's house) where she has just recently come back from consiousness after she was assaulted by a gang that Kei rescued her from. Kei has just made her some dinner.
