SCARS / TATTOOS / PIERCINGS
Elias really doesn't have many scars at all. Sure, he has those little scrapes we all gather has children, but that's nothing new or exciting. The only noticeable scar would be two small scars on his ears from gauges as a teenager. They had to be sown up, but they look fine now except for two little scars. As for tattoos, Eli proudly sports the last line of The Great Gatsby as a band around his right upper arm. He's planning to get something else literature-related in the future, but he's been chickening out each time. As for piercings, El once had his ears gauged, but he stopped after he started working.
DESCRIPTION
Elias is quite average in appearance. His eyes are a striking greenish gray, however. His brown hair is usually messy and naturally quite curly. Eli enjoys wearing a relatively thick stubble, but he never lets it grow into an actual beard. His skin is lightly tanned, but that's really only from walking his dogs. El also wears glasses almost constantly because he is farsighted. Therefore, they're necessary when writing, reading, or gaming.
PREFERRED CLOTHING
El has two different wardrobes. When working, he likes wearing dress shirts and either khakis or dress pants. He never wears suit jackets, for he finds them troublesome and too formal. Every once and a while, he'll also wear a tie. For almost all formal functions, this is his attire. Actually, he doesn't even own a suit. At home or on his own time, Eli wears graphic t-shirts and jeans or cargo shorts. His shoes are, quite often, Converse or some color or pattern. In both outfits, his glasses are a must.
â MENTALITY âē
LIES
Financial Situation || El's told the others that he worked as a professor for a while and comes from a well-off family. While the latter part is true, Eli lives in a cramped apartment with a few dogs and teaches at the local high school. He's also in some trouble with student loans.
Personal Life || He pretends to be a socially capable man online, and he's actually quite eloquent when typing. However, Eli has few friends and hardly any social life outside of SKO.
Cowardice || Eli knows that Aurinia likes men who are strong willed and tough...unfortunately, he is not one of those men. He has lied, therefore, about how brave he is. In reality, he's soft-spoken and usually keeps to himself.

PERSONALITY
Quiet || Introverted || Creative || Subtly Honest || Bookworm || Sagacious
The screen name "Whisper" comes from, unsurprisingly, his quiet nature. Eli doesn't speak up much around others except for when he's on SKO. It is there that he feels less awkward and more accepted. In the real world, however, he's unusually quiet for a man who makes his living speaking to others and educating them. Sure, he'll speak when spoken to, but he is not the kind of guy to initiate conversation with another. Therefore, it hardly comes as a surprise that he's an introvert. El prefers to spend time with his dogs and his roommate though the latter enjoys the Baltimore nightlife more than Elias. For some reason, he finds he doesn't mind interacting with the others for hours online. Perhaps this is because he feels more accepted.
El prides himself in his creativity. He's always dreamed of writing novels one day that will be remembered as a classic. However, he's not very determined, so he has quite a few half-started books lying around on flashdrives and his laptop. Despite the few lies he's told online, Eli is a relatively honest guy. However, his honesty comes more subtly. He does not like to be blunt because he fears it will upset or offend others. Therefore, he either keeps his thoughts to himself or hints to his thoughts about others in a way he feels will not be offensive.
Eli loves books and the wisdom they bring. His room is, more or less, a personal library jam-packed with hundreds of books he's found in local thrift stores to add to his collection. Many of them teeter in piles, for he doesn't have the room for that many bookshelves. He's truly not sure who his favorites are, but he does love Fitzgerald and Shakespeare. A favorite book would be impossible to determine. For a man in his twenties, Eli is surprisingly quite sagacious. He might be awkward at times, but he is clever and intelligent. He likes to speak in maxims and common sayings, for that is how he learned the ways of the world.
â BACKGROUND âē
RELATIONSHIP STATUS
"It's...well, it's complicated." || Eli's not quite sure what relationship he has going on with Aurinia. He wants to say they're dating or in some sort of relationship that's more than friendly. However, he can't help but feel like it can't be official when he's never actually spoken to her. He's tried to Skype with her, but she never seems to be able to.
FAMILY
Elias lives away from his family now, but back in his hometown, he lived with his mother and father, Patrice and Carter respectively. She is a trauma surgeon, and he is a mathematics professor. He has a younger brother, Winston, who is only fourteen and still lives with their parents, of course. There is some distant family scattered about, but he doesn't talk to them much except for when they're at a family function. In Baltimore, where he currently lives, his cousin, Edward, works and occasionally the two hang out.
FRIENDS
El doesn't have a plethora of friends, but he does have his roommate. Eli and George met at college together years ago and when they both needed to room with someone to help pay the rent, they contacted each other and ended up finding a small, but "cozy" apartment together in Baltimore. He does consider his dogs his friends in a way. Currently, he owns three: Holmes, a female West Highland White Terrier; Achilles, a male Staffordshire Bull Terrier; and Frankie, a female "Sheprador" (German Shepard/Labrador). Sure, he has some other friends through work and his college years, but Elias doesn't contact many of them except to go out for an occasional coffee or so.
PERSONAL HISTORY
Eli grew up along the Chesapeake in Maryland. His mother and father met in their college years, and they dated as both pursued higher degrees. Once Patrice began her residency, Carter proposed to her. El was born roughly a year after their wedding and just as Patrice finished her residency. Though the first few years were rough, what with debt and job searching, the new family soon found a home along the Chesapeake. His early life was uneventful and full of playing out in the streets with friends or beside the rivers. Still, he was bullied quite often, for he never bothered to fight back. Slowly, the boy retreated into himself and began to run around with the family dog instead.
Both parents had agreed upon no television in their house, so El was raised instead on books and comics. When he was twelve, his parents decided to adopt another son. Named Winston, he fit right into the family and managed to draw Eli out of his solitude a bit more. He began to write stories. They were amateur short stories, and they weren't too impressive. Still, he carried on. Over the years, as he drifted through cliques and small groups of friends, his writing improved, and El knew he wanted nothing more than to be an author.
His parents, of course, would not send their son to college to learn how to write when he could easily do that himself. Instead, he went to college to major in English (of course) and minor in Latin, another passion of his. With both languages under his belt, he found it surprisingly easy to snag a job at a high school in Baltimore. His friend from college, George, decided to move in and split rent with him. He started to play SKO as a way to pass the time when he was bored one summer. Eventually, however, it turned into a hard habit to break. Plus, he met some of his closest friends...including Aurinia. He truly feels as if he's in love with her. She's perfect to him, for she loves books like he does. With Richmond's Comic Con coming up, he truly can not wait to come face to face with her. Eli's also not quite sure how he'll react. After all, he's hardly seen her face before. He doesn't let many things bug him, but he can't help feeling like there is more to the fact that she won't Skype with him. No matter. Just two more weeks until he meets her.
