Lanuya Delida Acelet

"If life is as multicolored as the rainbow, then what's as multicolored as a box of crayons?"

0 · 1,228 views · located in Fantasy

a character in “Mental Implosion”, as played by Vanillasugar41

Description

Full Name: Lanuya Delida Acelet

Name Meaning: Special Intelligence / Divine Maiden / of Noble Birth

Nickname: N/A

Type of Supernatural Being: Mind Worker

Powers:
Legilimency - magically navigating through a person's mind. A person who practices this art is known as a Legilimens. More simply referred to as "mind-reading," practicers of this art disapprove of this term, labeling it as naive. If one is skilled enough, they can be able to implant thoughts or speak in another person's mind.

Occlumency - The opposite of Legilimency, better known as to shield one's mind from the invasion and influence of a Legilimens. This makes others unable to enter or read the practicer's mind. Lanuya does this naturally.

Telekinesis/Psychokinesis - moving physical objects by pure willpower. Often Lanuya will use this ability to do multiple things at once (ex: clean her room and make her dinner while she does her homework)

Empathy - the ability to sense another's emotional state. Lanuya does this constantly and does not know how to stop it. This makes her very good at communicating with people and solving problems.

Personality

Personality:
Lanuya is a pleasant, proper girl. Born and raised in a wealthy French family who taught her manors and made her into the "perfect child" she is. She's a very intelligent girl too with straight A's in all her classes, thought of fondly by both her peers and teachers. Lanuya is very quiet though, hardly speaking unless spoken to or if she has something important to say. Not a very athletic person but still very trim and sweet.

She can often be found reading a book or doing homework/extra credit work. Otherwise she'll be in her room playing the violin, cello, harp, piano or flute. And if she's not playing an instrument she's more than likely on the outskirts of the forest, working in her garden. Her two kittens, Velvet and Sugar, were her almost-constant companions before they perished.

Though she masks it very well, Lanuya suffers from extreme loneliness and isolates herself when the problem becomes apparent. The fact she can hear and sense other's thoughts and emotions terrifies her, as she doesn’t wish to know about all the things humanity has ever done. Of course, she keeps that fear bottled up inside and does her best to keep herself convinced that they are grand gifts. Lanuya only confides her inner thoughts and feelings in her kittens, but keeps a mask in the face of everyone else, acting completely fine. Now that they have died, she has been keeping her problems to herself.

Good Traits: Kind, loving, caring, problem solver, intelligent

Bad Traits: Lonely, masked, shy, prefers to be alone, not courageous

Likes: music, gardening, politeness, complements

Dislikes: foul language, headaches, reading other people’s minds, constant and exceedingly loud noises

Fears: drowning, losing a loved one, killing someone with her built up powers

Sexual Orientation: straight

Crush: N/A

Equipment

Physical Description:
Lanuya's eyes are honey colored and her hair is golden blonde, reaching just past mid-back. Her skin is sort of pale with no freckles and she has a slender body build. Hourglass curves and wears a generous B cup. She has no tattoos or piercings so she had to wear clip-on earrings. Her hair regularly smells of honey as that’s the scent of her shampoo/conditioner (also her favorite smell).

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Birthday: January 14th

Height: 5’ 1”

Weight: 110 lbs

History

History:
Lanuya was born into a wealthy French family. Her mother and father owned a luxurious hotel that was very successful. She grew up being friendly, polite, proper and pleasant like a good girl ought to be. The hotel was a place of events where parties, fundraisers and concerts were often held. From the moment Lanuya heard music, she wished to play an instrument and has so far learned five. Often she’ll play for fundraisers or complementary entertainment purposes. In school Lanuya is a prized student and has received many awards and scholarships. Also she enjoys gardening and keeps her own separate garden on the roof alongside her parent’s prized plants.

But behind the mask of the perfect life, Lanuya has been hiding a great many secrets. She does not truly know when her powers first developed. All she knows is she has had them since she can remember. Being able to read people’s thoughts without trying proved to be abnormal, so Lanuya had to put a muzzle on herself and filter through her words carefully. This caused her to grow up quickly, and have a need to find other things to occupy her time so her mind would not wander to her secrets. Fearful that she would disappoint her parents, she kept her powers a secret and tried to live a normal life (more or less).

There had only once ever been a problem and that happened when Lanuya was 13 years old. An elderly man was staying at the hotel for a short time. He was particularly unpleasant and rude to Lanuya, apparently choosing her to pick on and berate. Though she tried her best to compose herself, Lanuya couldn’t handle the torment on top of the secret she was keeping. She began to feel a pocket of energy forming in her mind like a throbbing, hot headache that wouldn’t go away. She tried to ignore it but it got worse and worse until finally, the man said something particularly nasty and Lanuya lost it.

She began to cry softly on the outside and the knot of power shattered. She felt almost like a wave of built up energy go flying directly at the man and she felt his mind shatter then go completely blank. All other people in the room suddenly experienced a paralyzing migraine and Lanuya just stood there in shock. The man had gone insane, like her suddenly wasn’t home anymore, and died minutes later whilst the other guest who had been near had to be taken to their rooms until they recovered from the episode. Lanuya fled the scene and never spoke of it to anyone.

A few days after the explosion of Lanuya’s powers, two kittens were found in a basket on the grand steps of the hotel. The kittens were brought to the managers, Lanuya’s parents, and they decided to comfort their daughter and take her mind of the tragedy, they would give her these kittens. Lanuya and the kittens took to each other immediately. They've been her constant companions, sometimes even sneaking into her knapsack and going to class with her. Sugar and Velvet had a mental link to each other, just as Lanuya seems to have a mental link with them.

Recently Lanuya has felt the same knot of unused power growing in her head and fears that it will be a repeat of what happened before. One day she can across a poster for a mansion and thought that would be a perfect place to go to get away from the stress of her life. Hopefully there she could unwind the pocket of power before anyone got hurt. She held out until the school year ended before asking her parents if she could go, saying she wanted to take the summertime off so she could relax, make some new friends and just have a nice time.

Her parents thought this was a great idea, knowing how demanding the hotel could be sometimes, and thought that a peacefully spent summertime would be good for their daughter’s health. So they bought her the plane tickets and she promised to write/call them when she got the chance to let them know how she was doing before setting off with her kittens. Her parents send her a monthly allowance of $200 to spend on where ever she wants and Lanuya writes/calls them weekly.

After a short time at Nixie's house for the Supernatural, Lanuya contacted home and told them she was homesick and wished to return. She did not inform them of the trouble she had have there, the death of her kittens or the fact that she was bringing her friends along. Now Lanuya and her friends; David and Samil, are staying on this island for the summer.

So begins...

((Hmm... Maybe we can have that mission be where they track down Lilith, since that succubus was able to evade her demonic DNA being detected by David before she kidnapped Lanuya. That is a rare occurence, and could pose a major threat in the future. What do you think? David can help a little bit by handing Samil his repeater pistol, but mention that the laser ammunition only works against demons, since it was designed to break through their defenses for the kill.))

David used some of his holy energy to enable him to have his eyes open underwater while breathing at the same time. He eventually caught up to Lanuya, where fish swam everywhere. The thought of how much Lanuya enjoyed the water made the Arch-Nephilim grin. She is having a blast, isn't she? He swam up beside her, keeping his pace the same as hers.

((Hm, sounds good... We all know that recently Lanuya has been struggling to keep herself under control because her two kittens (which held most of her sanity) had died and left her weakened; constantly putting Lanuya at risk of an explosion. The calmness of the island will keep her under control for a while, but it won't last. I'll pretty much be playing her on the side and all the other minor/side characters.

What we really need is the filling of the plot since we have the beginning and end]. I was thinking something along the lines of Samil being sent to kill a couple of humans. He would suffer a bit of a power rush where it would all go to his head and he would try to over kill. That's where David would come in and have to fight Samil in order to stop him [thus evening the score between the two].

In the end of course they get attacked by a large and powerful band of demon mercinaries who wish to use Lanuya's fragile state to thier advantage. The leader could be Lilith, the succubus that knows Lanuya's powers [very well I might add]. Samil and David would need to kill them and in the end Samil would kill Lilith and be awarded the full powers of the Angel of Death for such an act. Naturally David would also be rewarded by completeing his mission.

What do you guys think? Once we do this one I have an idea for a plot that focuses on basically all the characters; very intricate and woven together like a scented grass mat. :3))

((Sounds like a good plan, but Samil would have to strick the killing blow or else he wouldn't earn the title or his full powers. Also, we have to wait and see what Kyren thinks of this whole idea. :3 Common curtisy as it is called. Oh, and no thank you! I'm entertaining family right now so I have to leave periodically and I had to post without adding in Lanuya's reaction. I'll do that now. Oh, and sorry about the contents of this postr Kyren; it was such a perfect opportunity that I couldn't resist!))

Lanuya laughed and took a deep breath, diving below the waves a deep under the water. She had always loved swimming and had been swimming since she was young. She was even involved with the local swimming and diving team and home and was glad to be practicing. Looking up she saw Samil floating on the water and had to hold back laughter. Lanuya rarely played tricks but this was too perfect to resist! Quietly she came to the surface a few paces away from where Samil was relaxing. Then she picked up a large amount of water in a golden sphere and levitated it so it hovered above Samil. Then Lanuya twitched her finger at the bubble and it popped, pouring the water directly onto Samil, splashing all over him. Lanuya was laughing so hard her face actually turned pink. "S-Sorry Samil!" she called to him through her laughing, "But it was too perfect to resist!"

((I know. David would plan on Samil making the killing blow, anyway.))

Oh, no! She wouldn't! David went underwater again and watched as Lanuya took a mystical bubble of water and popped it so the all that water would pour on Samil. She would! He bursted laughing underwater, which he was able to after using some of his energy so he can breathe in it. When he was about to double over from laughing, the Arch-Nephilim rocketed to the surface.

Lanuya quickly dove under the water, still giggling a little to herself and the fish. Suddenly something large than a normal fish moved, darting behind some coral. Lanuya peered through her goggles, looking for the shadow. It didn't seem to be any sort of fish, too angular in shape and size, and moving in a way Lanuya had never seena sea creature move. Almost as it it was rocketing itself along with... dark wings? That couldn't be right...

Just as Lanuya was nearing it her head realized she was almost out of air. Quickly, and a little frantically, Lanuya swam up to the surface, breaking the water and taking a series of deep breaths, turning her face noraml colored once again. 'How very odd,' Lanuya thought, trying to see underwater though the view wasn't very good, 'It almost felt... familar.'

((First encounter, coming up! :D Of course, that succubus will get away before being harmed, this time, but I want to get David a little riled up in his mind to move the internal conflict along!))

"Lanuya I never thought you'd..." David looked for the girl, but did not see her. He was too busy laughing to notice what she was doing. Suddenly, he felt a surge, a suspicscious one, at that. "Oh, no! Not again! Please, not again!" He dove underwater, telepathically saying to Lanuya, Get out of there! You could be killed! He used some of his energy to incase Lanuya in light, making sure she could not see what was in the dark, in case his suspiscions were correct, and used it to rocket her to the surface, gently placing her on the dry sand of the beach.

He followed the DNA strand to the source. Once at the coral, the Arch-Nephilim enhanced his eyes to be able to see more clearly. The figure he made out was one he despised. "Lilith..."

The succubus chuckled. "Ooh! The Arch-Nephilim! Your brother was not kidding when he said you're handsome!"

What? She tricked Saul into attempting to kill me? It's great that he's still alive, but now it's even more personal! David shouted to the demon, "You're the reason Lanuya was dead!"

Lilith went into mock pity. "I know... Such a sad tragedy..." Her smirk emerged instantly. "But, at least you now have your girl, methinks, so I guess I did you a favor! Tell me, you two get laid, yet?"

The demon's words set David off like nothing else would. "You evaded my senses at the restuarant when I checked on her, but this time you won't get away!"

"Oh, my! You look hot with that attitude!"

David had enough, letting out a roar of rage as he rocket towards the succubus, only to be tackled by another demon, an incubus by the looks of him. The Arch-Nephilim was soul kissed before he could react, but broke free by kneeing his assailant before delivering a knock-out punch to the temple. Because part of the angelic side was drained, the Arch-Nephilim began to lose his ability to breathe underwater more rapidly, forcing him to rocket to the surface and land in the sand. He literally choked on salt water for a brief moment, as he stood next to Lanuya. It did not matter, Lilith escaped.

(I'm afraid we're going to have to carry on this roleplay until Samil returns. We'll just pretend he went inside to do something and keep it going from there. It would give David and Lanuya time for their realationship to grow, because I was planning on having Lanuya's vessel be romantically interested in Samil.)

Lanuya only half knew what was happening as she was suddenly lifted from the water and plopped on the warm sand with an ominous warning of death. She blinked, removing her goggles and wiping the stinging saft water from her eyes. The water seemed to almost be boiling and there were ripples coming from under the surface of the water. Try as she would, Lanuya couldn't see what was going on becuase the sunlight was too bright and refleted off the surface of the choppy water.

Despite the death threat, Lanuya was just about to dive in in case something was really wrong was happening and her powers may make the difference between lfie and death when suddenly something (or more accurately; someone) shot from the water. David practically exploded out of the sea, landing roughly beside Lanuya on his hands and knees, water slipping off his toned back. "David!" Lanuya exclaimed in fright, touching his back in worry. She could only watch helplessly as he coughed up sea water and tried to stand. "David, are you okay? What on earth happened down there?" she asked, not powerful enough at the moment to freely see it in his mind and not wanting to intrude by putting effort into searching his mind.

When David could breathe again, he said, "A creature, aggressive, at that, was down there which should not have been, in the first place. Don't worry! I took care of the situation!" The angelic part of his soul grew back as he spoke. He did not want to mention what creature that was there, knowing that would mean he would have to explain what happened before arriving in France. "I'll be fine! The ability to breathe under there just wore off sooner than later, is all!"

Lanuya furrowed her brows, obviously not conviced by David's rather vague story, but she didn't push for more details and instead let it slide. "Well, okay..." she said, sounding disbeliving and quite concerned, "If you say so. But are you sure you're alright? Maybe we should take a break from swimming a go for a walk on the island. That would give you a bit of a breather. Okay?" Lanuya asked institantly, taking David's hand and gently leading him away from the water. "Samil! We're goi for a walk, okay? We'll meet you back at the house."

David took a deep breath. He was relieved he was not questioned further, yet his inward anger towards the succubus grew by the minute. When Lanuya insisted on a walk on the island, the Arch-Nephilim knew this was not a time to argue. Whenever she expressed concern, it was next to impossible to budge her, if there was even a chance, to begin with. "Alright!"

He let her lead the way. The island seemed rather tropical, unusual for a place in France. Well, actually, David figured he should have expected something like this in the Mediterenean. It did not matter how it was possible, he was spending time with Lanuya, away from the usual troubles that come with protecting her.

Lanuya held gently, but firmly to David's hand. She didn't want to crush it, but if she relaxed she feared her hand would slip from his. And even if Lanuya couldn't read his specific thoughts, she knew something was wrong. What was wrong, Lanuya didn't know, and was too polite to simply invade his mind and figure it out. "David," she said quietly, "You've been acting... off, ever since I got into that car accident." Lanuya paused a moment, her golden eyes watching his, searching both eyes for anything that would give away the reason he was acting unlike himself. "And you don't have to talk about that, I know it scared you, but please tell me... are you okay, David? Like, really okay? Or just pretending to be okay?"

A tear shed. He knew he could not hide his feelings forever. At this point, he knew it was time he told the truth.

"It... it was no car accident..." His eyes closed shut, the tears leaking out the eyelids. "It was an implosion, forced upon you by a demon..." He could not hold back his remorse any longer. "I tried to save you, but I couldn't! I failed! I failed to protect you! Of course, you're alive, now, but..." The Arch-Nephilim could not even complete that last sentence before he fell to his knees, sobbing.

Lanuay stared on in shock and she knew somewhere deep down inside of herself that David's story was the truth. A demon who had forced her to used her powers against her will... and against her friends. She had refused and instead destroyed him... killing herself in the proccess. It had been a sacrifice Lanuya had choosen to make and had not regretted it. 'An implosion? And I died?!' Lanuya thought, agast. It made sense though: her soreness, the loss of memory, the injuries which had nearly killed her again once it was all over. Her golden eyes fell upon David who was kneeling on the ground, tears streaming from his eyes.

Lanuya felt her own eyes tear up as she knelt infront of David. "David, please don't cry..." she cooed softly, touching his shoulder then gently raising his head. Her delicate, small fingers adoringly brushed away his tears which wet his cheeks. "David, you haven't ever failed me. You've been with me, to support and comfort me, ever since you became my guardian angel." She smiled kindly, her hands softly placed on his, kneeling directly infront of him. "If I died, David it wasn't your fault. God had planned for it to happen that way, and you know it as well as I do. You protected me before my death. Then you saved me from it. And you're protecting me even now."

Lanuya clasped both his hands in hers, holding them close to her heart. A small white smile parted her rose pink lips, her face the same height as his and the distance not very much, a foot at most. Her golden eyes radiated comfort and love as she looked deeply into David's eyes; the eyes of her guardian Nephilim. "You've never failed me David... So please don't cry..."

David stopped crying when Lanuya raised his head and brushed away the tears. As he listened to her, he was confused as to what to make of the whole thing. "David, you haven't ever failed me. You've been with me, to support and comfort me, ever since you become my guardian angel." She smiled kindly, her hands softly placed on his, kneeling directly infront of him. "If I died, David it wasn't your fault. God had planned for it to happen that way, and you know it as well as I do. You protected me before my death. Then you saved me from it. I... did not fail? It took a moment to sink in, but once it did, David grinned halfway, genuinely. The agony began to fade away. The fear of what Lilith may do to Lanuya was still there, but at last, after more than a week, the Arch-Nephilim felt no regret.

Lanuya saw David's costumary smile begin to return to his face which had been missing it these past few days. She could almost feel the returning happiness and sadisfaction to him. Lanuya put her arms around his neck, hugging him closely, still in her swim just like him and buried her face into his neck. She held herself close for a moment or so before parting and smiling at him. "David... are you going to be okay now?" she asked, sounding both encouraged and encouraging.

The Arch-Nephilim hugged her back, serene and comforted. When asked if he would be alright, David nodded. He definitely would be fine, for the most part. He had forgotten all about his anger towards Lilith or any other demon that posed a threat to Lanuya. The only troubled thoughts were around what those demons were doing, though he knew there was no danger, for now. Just as before arrival at the island, Lanuya's comforting nature won out against any bitterness that was held in David's heart. Not a single drop of guilt remained.

Lanuya smiled as David nodded 'yes' to her question, glad he was feeling better. "Good!" she said, standing with a small struggle, still holding his hand in hers. "Well then, I suppose we should keep going with our walk." As they walked along, Lanuya noticed the beautiful plants and tropical animals that scampered about in the brush. Everything was so colorful and to pretty; the gorgeousness of it all nearly overwhelming the girl with awe. "It's so pretty out here," she said, sounding amazed by the sights, still holing onto David's hand. "I'm so glad you came to see all this with me. It's not everyday you get to see a rainbow's array of life before you."

David walked along with Lanuya. The views were unlike any he saw before. They reached far beyond his expectations, even for an area of France. He periodically looked back at her, noticing her reactions to what was seen.

Lanuya spoke up, first. "It's so pretty out here," she said, sounding amazed by the sights, still holding onto David's hand. "I'm so glad you came to see all this with me. It's not everyday you get to see a rainbow's array of life before you."

The Arch-Nephilim nodded, his customary grin still aparent. "I'm glad I came along with you." He kissed her on the cheek after that statement.

Lanuya smiled then felt a pair of warm lips pressed against her cheek. She recognized them as David's and blushed, giving his hand a squeeze of happiness. Then the two came into a clearing. Tropical plants lines the sides around a steaming pool of water with fruits and flowers flourishing in the area. Everything was so spectacular it took Lanuya's breath from her and she could only stare. "Oh my goodness David..." she whispered, pintching herself a little to make sure this wasn't just her imagination, "This is... This is so... wow..."
