Sethesis Alexander Corvain III's Story

Seth walked through the main entrance with two bags of groceries one in each hand. He had gone shopping earlier since their wasn't much food left in the Kitchen and Isaac would probably get at whatever was left. So despite it being early morning Seth had gone out to buy groceries. It was mainly just vegetables, bread, milk, and fruits.
Seth noticed Notus and an unknown boy standing near the door. The boy was probably about Seth's age and he wore fairly normal clothing with a bag, the only unusual thing were the goggles he wore.
"Good morning Notus," said Seth. Seth put the two grocery bags in his left hand and then held his right hand out to hand out to the boy. "I'm Seth pleased to make your acquaintance. Are you here to bring a job?" It was quite normal to get customers this early in the morning after all.

Isaac grinned as he got the money, and teleported instantly to the closest pizza place. Luckily it was open, and since it was quite early there was no one else. Which meant he would get his pizza instantly. When he got it, he teleported back to the kitchen, put the pizza box on the table and grabbed a slice. He got it right as it came out of the oven which meant it was hot as hell, making Isaac burn his tongue. After blowing it enough for it to be edible, he thought Hmmmmm, I should offer a piece to Notus, he DID pay for it after all. He grabbed the box and teleported back to where he last saw Notus.

When he appeared there, he didn't see him seated, he turned around and found him at the entrance with Seth, who was carrying groceries Hope he didn't bring just "healthy" stuff, and a stranger, who looked to be a young boy. He teleported next to them and said "Pizza anyone?" He then looked at the boy, lifted his top hat as a greeting, and said "Hello! I'm Isaac. Nice to meet you."

Notus shook Aidrid's hand " It is very nice to meet you " Now with Seth and Isaac here the team was almost complete. " Good morning Seth, no I do not want any pizza.... " Notus said in retort to the others comments, His head was still in a bit of pain but still had to go on " Seth please put those groceries away then come back down, Isaac bring this young mans things to the open room upstairs it should be the on next to mine.... and clean up your mess Isaac I am not your maid." Notus smiled and looked back to Aidrid " now lets get your equipment so you can start with us here, everyone is required to carry these on them during any and all missions. " He took a side step and pointed in the direction of the back office " this way please "

Fortunately, Notus has a lot of patience, which was obtained while working for the white council for years. However, he has started his own work. he had grown accustom to living with everyone here at Guardian and he guessed that he kind of was the maid, always picking up, cooking, cleaning for everyone.

Aidrid shook the man's hand and listened to what he was saying. He took note of the other names, Seth and Isaac. He always tried to do this so he could impress them later on when he already knows there name when they go to introduce themselves. Seth seemed to be friendly and helpful but Isaac kind of seemed lazy, either that or he is just a bit of a joker. Aidrid didn't like to judge a book by it's cover but he couldn't help himself.

He followed the man, who appeared to be in charge, to a back room of the main entrance. It was some sort of office or control room with fancy computers and desks. "My name is Aidrid, or just Aid. I'm from England." Aidrid had just realised that he hadn't introduced himself yet. He couldn't wait to see the equipment that had been mentioned but it was a lot for him to handle. He had never had a fight with someone so how did they expect him to know how to use a weapon?

Seth said "You got it boss. Isaac stop eating that pizza, you should eat something healthier for breakfast, and-" Seth stopped talking when the door opened. Ordinarily this wouldn't bother Seth, but the man who walked in was Mr. Corvain. He wore a black suit, held a brief case, and his short curly black hair was neatly placed.
"Morning," said Mr. Corvain in quite an unfriendly tone. "Good Morning Mr. Corvain," Seth replied in an equally unpleasant tone. Mr. Corvain continued "I have some paperwork for Notus. Where is he at the moment?" "Notus is occupied at the moment you'll have to wait or interrupt him. He's in the equipment room," said Seth. The tones of their voices were still hateful. "Thank-you," said Mr. Corvain, but the thank-you was hollow with no meaning as anyone could tell, it was just there to fill empty space.
Seth left in the direction of the kitchen. "Isaac, come on," said Seth in a no nonsense voice.

Isaac finished the pizza slice and said before Seth could finish "Pffffft, yeah right. Pizza is the best breakfast. Pizza is -" He stopped when he saw Seth look at the door. Old, grumpy man walked in. "Morning" said Mr. Corvain, and Seth responded. Isaac was about to offer him pizza, but decided not to Pretty sure he doesn't even like pizza. Instead he just said "Sup....Mr. Corvain." And grinned at him. When he left, Seth said "Isaac, come on." and left for the kitchen. He was about to crack a joke, but went against it. Mr. Corvain and Seth relationship wasn't...the best, so it would be better not to rub it on. Instead he just said loudly, "Ahead of you already!" and teleported in the kitchen, leaving the pizza box on the table, not without taking another piece first.

"I hate that guy," said Seth as he put away the groceries. He went to the cupboard to put the bread away and noticed the cereal box. It was empty "dammit Isaac! Why can't you throw the cereal box out when it's empty? The garbage is just there, a few god damn feet away," Seth whipped the cereal box at Isaac at Isaac. Seth Stormed out of the kitchen and up to his room. He wasn't really mad at Isaac, just mad at Mr. Corvain (his father).
Seth's room was a little messy with a piece of clothes here or there, but mostly clean. His single bed was nicely made. The walls were a very light brown, he had a dresser and small closet, the closet held to very formal outfits and a few boxes.
Seth lay on and gave a deep sign. Funny how seeing his father and exchanging a few hollow words could make him feel this way.

Notus scratched his head and let out a nervous laugh " yah... sorry about that I went a little overboard.... but we did catch the crook thou." Notus sat down at his desk and took a deep breath " Aidrid my name is Notus Bebbinn I am head of operations here at Guardian. Mr. Corvain is second in command, not only a member here but also a member of the white council. Mr. Corvain is are mediator between us and the council." He began to tapping on his computer as fast as lightning " well it seems that we have a job... " he typed some more " it seems easy enough.... but that can always change in are line of work. " Notus stood up and exited the room " please we need to have a team meeting and that means you to Aidrid, this way " Notus awaited for everyone in the main lobby to tell them all of the job that is ahead of them.

Mr. Corvain followed Notus to the main lobby. Once they arrived at the main lobby Mr. corvain took out to papers in the form of butterflies. He wrote very eloquently on them, then blew on them. They began flying in to directions one went upstairs the other to the kitchen.
Seth was sitting on his bed when the Magi-note slipped under his door. The writing was Mr. Corvain's. He considered not reading it, but this was usually for missions. The not read "Mission meet in main lobby" Seth headed for the main lobby. When he arrived Notus, Mr. Corvain, and the new one whom he still didn`t know the name of.
"Hey I still didn't get your name," said Seth to Aidrid. "His name is Aidrid Dracnare," said Mr. Corvain flatly. "Thank-you Mr. Corvain," replied Seth unhappily.

Isaac just watched as Seth shouted and got mad at him because of the cereal box. This was something usual when Seth and Mr. Corvain talked, or even looked at each other. Isaac let him leave, he would be in a better mood later. Too lazy to walk the two steps, he teleported infront of the trash bin, and threw the box away. He grabbed another piece of pizza, and as he was eating it, the magi-note flew infront of him. He left the pizza hanging in his mouth and read the note. It said "Mission, meet in main lobby."
He stuffed the rest of the pizza in his mouth, and teleported into the main lobby just as Mr. Corvain was telling them Aidrid's name. "What's the mission?" Tried to say Isaac, but due to the amount of food in his mouth, it sounded more like "Whuum mmmeh miimmioom."

It was all going so quickly. Aidrid had barely stepped through the door and he was already going out on his first mission. Sheepishly, Aidrid followed Notus to the main lobby and stood waiting for the others. Once they had arrived, Isaac said something through his full mouth. Assuming he was eager to find out about the mission, Aidrid assumed he was asking about it but as these people probably knew each other pretty well it could of been anything.

None of the people present in the room looked like battle-hardened fighters but Aidrid was sure they knew what they were doing. Seth and Isaac didn't even know that Aidrid would be joining them yet, in fact they probably thought that he had brought the job that Notus was about to tell them about. The fact that he was standing next to Notus, and his nervous feeling, probably didn't help that either. Aidrid remained there and listened for Notus to tell the group what they would be doing.

"Stop talking with your mouth full" said Mr. Corvain and Seth at the same time. This made the two of them very unhappy they glared at each other for a second, then turned so their backs were facing each other. They also both crossed their arms over their chests in the same manner(right arm over the left).
After a moment Seth put his arm over Isaac and had the two of them lean away from the others. Seth whispered to Isaac"Hey Isaac, sorry about whipping the Cereal at you, I shouldn't have lost my temper.
After Seth apologized to Isaac he went to Notus and asked "Is Roland gonna be on this mission?" Roland was actually the only person older than Mr. Corvain on the team.

Isaac watched as both Seth and Mr. Corvain mirrored each other and almost burst out laughing. Those two were almost identical, well, except that Mr. Corvain was eternally grumpy, but aside from that they acted pretty much the same. Seth then took him aside and apologized to him about the cereal box incident. Isaac didn't mind, it wasn't really a big deal. He wanted to say it was ok, but since his mouth was still full he just raised both of his thumbs and nodded as if saying Don't worry, we're cool.
After that, Seth asked about Roland. Isaac finished chewing the pizza, swallowed it and said, "Wait. Didn't we put Roland in jail because we found out he was using chaos magic or something?"

Roland seemed appeared out of nowhere leaning against a dimly lit section of the east wall; In actuality he had been patiently waiting for the others to arrive for quite some time and chose only then to make himself known.

" I've been released early for being a good boy " He pushed himself off a wall with his back and stepped into the light, anticipating their reactions with a rebellious smirk. Roland, the eldest magician of the team stood among them now looking no older than 25, as if he'd literally climbed out of the dusty old photo album he kept in his room; The results of the magic that almost condemned him. He wore a black men's Hooded Toggle Coat, hood down, a pair of slim fitting black jeans and pair of Nike's. Black as well. He was clearly proud of himself, it was written all over his face, and why shouldn't he be? He made an immense gamble and came out on top because he knew going into it that there was a 90% chance he'd be killed, either he would fail the spell and die or succeed and be put to death by The White Council, yet here he stood.

" I know you've got a million questions so go ahead and ask em' so we can get outta here, we've got a job to do "

He said as he walked to the Lobby's exist with his hands jammed into his coat pockets. Even his posture and diction seemed to have rebooted to exemplified youth now in every way, instead of the straight back and proper speech of the former Roland Ash. He stopped at the door and turned to face his comrades and awaited the potential barrage of questions.

"While we are all glad you are not in prison, we must hold off on the questions until later. Missions after all are usually time sensitive subjects," said Mr. Corvain still in that emotionless speech of his. "We must also set a good example for our new recruit," said Mr. Corvain.
"New recruit?" asked Seth "That is, Aidrid will be working with us from today onwards," his speech was mostly without emotion, but there was a note of condenseness in his voice and he seemed to be mostly addressed to Isaac and Seth.
"Now that we are all here should we commence our mission, Notus?" asked Mr. Corvain

Isaac looked at Roland and thought Wait! What?! Was this guy the 55 year old fart that used to work with them? And then got sent to jail because he didn't follow the simple rule of no using ilegal magic? Isaac started to teleport around him around 50 times in the span of five seconds, trying to find anything that gave the fake away. "Dudedudedude! How did you even manage this?!" He asked between teleports. "Seriously, this is not natural. You should look like an old mummy, very much like Mr. Corvain there. Actually! Why don't you give him some advice? The old man needs them." He kept teleporting all around him, but it seemed like it was real.
Isaac then realized something, and teleported a bunch of times moving away from him. "Waiiiiit a second! How are you out if you are still using chaos magic? Because I'm pretty sure that's how you managed to look like that. Even more, how are you even out!? You are supposed to be in jail for the rest of your life for using chaos magic!" The fact that he was there meant that he either stopped using chaos magic, which it seems he didn't, or that he escaped.

Notus looked at everyone then took a deep breath " It was my doing I convinced the Elder Council to release Roland and allow him to come back to Guardian. it took a lot but I got him back. I was not sure that it worked, they said that they would talk on the matter and get back to me.. but seeing that your here it had to worked, and I am happy to see you back. " there was a hint of doubt over what really happened and sadness for everything that did happened. he had given up the ability to cast at full level as a personal punishment of sorts. Notus rubbed a metal wrirst band that made un able use his magic like he use to and He took another deep breath " Now... the mission is a protection job, its should be an easy job and a good pay. The job entails us protecting a new excavation sitenthas found a another cashier of arcan books and items."

Mr. Corvain felt very insulted true in recent years he had developed some wrinkles, but his hair was dark as ever, and for 40 he actually looked pretty good. "Isaac maybe when you reach my age you will realize that I have aged quite gracefully."
When they went over the subject of Roland Seth was very much intrigued, but Mr. Corvain had already known of Roland's release and Notus being the one behind it. The only thing Mr. Corvain didn't know was how Notus had gotten Roland free. Not a single person in the white council new a thing about it, but Mr. Corvain said nothing, Notus always had a reason for what he did and didn't say.
Seth was happy to hear it was a small mission. Not that he didn't trust Aidrid, but he wanted to see what he could do before they faced real danger. Make an accurate estimation of what kind of person he was.
