Personality: Ayumi is intelligent, cunning, mischievous and flirtatious. She can be manipulative and is not above using her feminine charms to get what she wants. On the battle, the Mizukage is a ruthless woman who, like many members of Kiri, have a passion for fighting and will never back down from a good battle. The woman is known for her charm and beauty, but also for her prowess in Water and Ice Release. She is respectful of others and will often compliment even her opponents in battle.

History: Ayumi was born into a family of commoners within Kirigakure. It was said that when she was born, the girl had an abnormally high amount of chakra as a sensor on the other side of the village was able to sense her, but it all faded in one quick burst within about a minute. Her parents owned a small, family-run bakery that was quite well-known throughout Kirigakure. Despite the fact that neither of her parents were shinobi, Ayumi aspired to become one. After years of begging, her parents finally allowed her to go. She was enrolled at the age of 7, and after studying for a year, Ayumi graduated at the top of her class.

She discovered her first chakra nature while training with her Jounin sensei - Water. Ayumi practiced long and hard, and by the time the Chuunin exams came, she proved her ability with water release by not only passing all the stages of the exams, but also by winning the final round, beating out a Konoha gennin by filling the arena with water. During this time, she was noted for her uniquely large chakra reserve.

After being promoted to Chuunin rank, Ayumi continued her training, expanding further on her ability with Water Release as well as exploring her own newly discovered Kekkei Genkai - Ice Release. She discovered that her parents were descendants of the Yuki Clan, and though they possessed no ability with Ninjutsu, they had the potential to use Ice Release as well. Ayumi dedicated much of her time training and gained recognition from the Mizukage, who took her in as his own apprentice.

Ayumi was sent on a retrieval mission several months after she turned 17. The mission, it turned out, was to retrieve one of the missing swords that belonged to the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist. The man that took it was a former member who defected, but Ayumi managed to track him down, and a fight ensued that caused damage on massive proportions to one of the smaller islands in the Land of Water. Ayumi would ultimately triumph and retrieve the blade, and the Mizukage granted her permission to keep it. Though she is not an official member of the Swordsmen per se, Ayumi is one of the first females to ever wield a blade from the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

After the Mizukage's retirement, Ayumi was promoted to the rank of Mizukage. She has been the Mizukage for 6 years, starting at the age of 21.

As night fell over the village of Kirigakure, the streets were dimly lit by flickering torches and lanterns. To those unaccustomed to the mist in the village, navigating would be nearly impossible. A young woman could be seen walking along the streets of the village, wrapped in a black, hooded cloak. Attached to her back was a large weapon covered in bandages that only those who inhabited the village would be able to identify - the legendary blade Samehada. It was a slightly chilly night, but Ayumi didn't seem to mind. With her arms crossed, the woman walked down one of Kiri's main market streets. Some of the vendors were just beginning to close their stores, and those who looked up from their work immediately smiled and waved.

"Mizukage-sama, are you out on your nightly walk again?" One of them asked as he walked out of his store. He was an elderly man about the age of 70. A man that Ayumi knew well, as her parents used to do business with him all the time.
"Well, if I don't do it, who will?" She asked him, laughing softly as she spoke. "I may be the Mizukage, but that doesn't mean I can simply hand out all of my tasks to others. I have to take some responsibility, don't I?"
"Well.. yes.. but is it necessary every night? I worry about your health Ayumi, you may catch a cold!"
Ayumi chuckled, placing her hands on her hips as she gave him an accusatory glare. "Are you saying that a simple cold could defeat me?" She joked before placing a reassuring hand on the man's shoulder. "The safety of my village and my people are of utmost importance to me. It is my duty to protect them, and if this is what it takes, then so be it. I'm more worried about you catching a cold. I don't want to keep you out here for too long.. how about I drop by tomorrow morning and take you out for some morning tea?" She asked, a heartwarming smile on her face.
The man nodded to Ayumi. "I'll count on it, Mizukage-sama" He said with a wink before walking back into his store.

Twenty minutes passed, and Ayumi finished her nightly walk. After purchasing a warm bun, the woman headed back to the Mizukage's mansion. Her night was far from over, and she knew that when she returned, there would be a large stack of papers for her to go through. 'That's the price I pay.' She thought, a small frown on her face as she thought about all that she had missed out on for the past few years. By the time Ayumi neared the doors of the mansion, she had finished her bun.

As Ayumi prepared to enter the building, she took one last glance behind her. Something, or rather, someone had caught her attention. It looked to be a young girl, though the woman wasn't entirely sure. The sight of her, however, made Ayumi's heart sink. Was the child lost? It wasn't often that the Mizukage saw anyone so young out on the streets at night, but the thought of worrying parents made her feel slightly uneasy.

The Mizukage slowly approached the girl, though by the time she was close enough, she had already missed what the girl whispered. "It's.. quite chilly out tonight, isn't it?" She said, speaking softly, though not soft enough to be considered a whisper. Her eyes were focused on the girl. She looked familiar, but Ayumi just couldn't quite put a name to the face. Not in the dark at least. Ayumi hoped that she didn't scare the girl, but was prepared for any sort of reaction.

Ayumi laughed softly, sensing the young girl's nervousness. This type of reaction was something that Ayumi was used to by now, and something that Ayumi still found quite cute, even with adults. "Ah!" She exclaimed, as if the name rang a bell. "Rin Amasu, I remember now. You did a fantastic job in the Chuunin exams." She told the girl proudly. The woman had great confidence in the younger generation, and knew that Rin had overcome much hardship to get to where she was currently. Having been around the village's former leader during the time Rin was taken in by the village, Ayumi couldn't help but to feel a sense of sympathy for her, and still remembered the day when the bloodied child wandered into the village.

"When the Water Daimyo asked whether or not I would promote you, I told him I would without even hesitating." She told Rin genuinely, a comforting smile on her face as she spoke. "Now you're a medical-nin... time really flies. I commend you. Medicine really isn't my.. strong suit, but I hear it's quite challenging. Have you been studying at the Hospital?"

"But that's the thing, Rin. You used your head and brought in something that the others hadn't yet seen before. They were unable to adapt, and you came out on top. Survival of the fittest, right?" She said cheerfully, which would have seemed almost too brutal had she not been from Kirigakure, a village that was once known as the "Village of the Bloody Mist", though any practices that once were had been abolished long ago. When Rin asked to be placed in a team, the Mizukage considered for a moment, her mind going through all the possible tasks she could give Rin. "A medical-nin in a team is one of the most vital members, and we're always in need of a strong, experienced one. It would definitely benefit you to acquire some field experience... I will see what I can arrange for you. How does that sound?" She asked. "Come to my office tomorrow morning. If there's an opening, i'll be sure to put you into a team."

The Mizukage blushed slightly at Rin's comment, though it would have been hard to see in the dimly lit streets of Kiri. She nodded to Rin, about to leave to the Mizukage's Mansion before hesitating. She turned to Rin once again, a faint look of worry on her face as she spoke. "Do you have a place to stay tonight, Rin? I don't want you to be out on the streets in this weather.. there's a lot of vacant rooms in the mansion, and I'm sure the village elders wouldn't mind it if you took one of them." She said.

Rin shook her head, "I cannot accept such an offer, Mizukage-dono. It would be shameful for me to take up residence within your home without purpose." She looked to the side street across from them, "I can find my way towards the hospital, if it would help you rest, I can stay in a spare bed." She bowed low, "Mizukage-dono, your kindness is extraordinary. I... don't mean to sound as though I am unjustly praising you, these are simply my true feelings." She stood up straight and took on a firm look, "Should you ever need me please do not hesitate to call on me, I'd do anything." Rin smiled and adjusted her eye patch.

The mizukage smiled, nodding to Rin. "Very well then. I will see you in the morning." She said to the girl before waving goodbye and heading to the Mizukage's Mansion. It was a large, cylindrical building that was as old as the village itself. Never in her wildest imagination did Ayumi believe that she would be living in a mansion one day, but then again, she didn't quite plan on becoming the Mizukage either. Sliding her key into the lock, Ayumi waited for the familiar clicking noises before turning the key and opening the door. After removing Samehada from her back, the woman entered the building, closing the door behind her.

The foyer of the Mizukage's mansion was spacious, with marble floors and a large, 'floating' crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling that could be seen on every floor. Most of the decor had been done by the Mizukage herself, using her own personal funds and taking favors from some of her friends. The building was designed in such a way that a large, central staircase spiraled all the way to the top, where the Mizukage's office was. There were multiple floors, each one containing some sort of room, or a library, or sitting area. The Mizukage's bedroom was located one floor below her office.

By the time the sun had risen, Ayumi was already up and preparing for a new day. The woman wore a small red robe that barely reached her mid-thighs in length. Tied at the waist with a strip of yellow cloth, the top of her robe was opened slightly, exposing a bit of cleavage. After taking one last look in the mirror, Ayumi sighed, picking up the Mizukage's hat from her table and Samehada that was propped up against the wall before leaving to go to her office.

Ayumi entered the office with a smile on her face. The sun had just risen, and her office provided the perfect vantage point. Vibrant pinks and oranges and soft blues filled the skies, and before she started on her paper work, Ayumi stood at the large windows, arms crossed as she admired the world around her.

After hearing Rin enter her office, Ayumi turned, smiling to the girl. "Oh! How are you, Rin?" She asked before taking a seat in her chair. It was a large rolling chair with arms and a high back, but the Mizukage had put a few of her own touches to it, including pillows to make it much more comfortable. "Please, come in and have a seat." She said, motioning to the chairs in front of her desk.

At one side, a large stack of papers and files awaited Ayumi, while on the center of her desk, a single file with several sheets of paper in it was placed. Ayumi opened the folder, pulling out the few documents inside before organizing the pile. "I did manage to find a team for you, however it is not fully formed, and there are still several steps I need to carry out before things are finalized." She told Rin.

She said to the two before placing the files back into the folder and closing it. "Rin, Takeshi, I have decided to form a new team, and you two will be the first two members of it. Now, I know it may be a little much to ask for you two to become acquainted on such short notice, but I'm positive you'll be able to handle it. I will give you a week at most to get to know each other, and after that, I have a task for you two.." She told them, her voice trailing off near the last sentence as she thought it over. Something had been bothering her, and she wanted to send a small team to investigate.

Rin did as she was instructed, moving over to sit down, looking around the room, she looked to the Mizukage when she mentioned a team but kept from saying anything as she heard Takeshi entering into the room. Rin gave a slight sigh before the Mizukage began to speak, she couldn't help but feel relaxed within this space, it made her heart feel warm.

As the Mizukage informed the two of them that they would be working together, she turned to look at Takeshi, curiously examining him under a new light. It was a different circumstance to view him as a potential teammate. "Hello again Takashi," she left off honorifics from his name, "Mizukage-dono, please feel free to call on us as soon as you are ready. We will make sure that we are ready when that time comes." She turned to Takashi and bowed her head, hopeing that he did not mind her speaking for him.

Ayumi chuckled softly, nodding to Rin. "Good. I will be counting on your teamwork when the time comes. You may leave now if you have no further questions, Rin." She told her. She wasn't sure how the girl would react to being paired with a Jinchuuriki, or whether or not she knew he was a jinchuuriki in the first place. She knew that some people felt uneasy around a Jinchuuriki, especially the villagers, but hoped that Rin would be able to handle it. More importantly, she hoped that Takeshi would be able to keep the Three-Tails under control. After all, Rin was a Chuunin, and the tailed beast were gigantic masses of chakra that could be used as weapons of mass destruction.

When Takeshi revealed to her that they had already met, Ayumi looked at him quizzically. "Oh? You two have met already?" She asked. "Where did you two meet, if you don't mind me asking?" She asked, leaning back in her chair.

Rin smiled nervously to the Mizukage, contemplating whether it would be better to keep it simple, tell the full story or just lie. She thought it might be best to go with a simple version, after all, omission wasn't lying. "We met at the hospital last night. We basically came in at the same time." Rin smiled cautiously, " I think that we shouldn't have any problems getting along, though I do not know if our individual styles will lend well to each other. I think it is something that only working together will reveal."

Rin turned so she could look Takeshi over, "Would you meet with me later, perhaps at sundown, so we can get some practice in?"

The Mizukage signed, listening as Takeshi voiced his concerns about keeping his identity hidden from his team member. "People fear what they know little about, Takeshi. Those villagers who fear you are people who were brought up listening to stories of a villainized Isobu, so it's only natural that they fear you." She reasoned. "My intentions were both to give Rin the necessary field experience, but also to add some pressure for you to properly train and learn to control your beast. If you intend to be stronger for the good of the village, this is one thing you must do. A Jinchuuriki who lacks control of his beast is merely a smaller form of the beast itself, and will be more of a hindrance than an advantage." She said to him. Though her words may have been harsh, they were entirely true. "If Rin finds out, then so be it. She's a kunoichi, I'm sure she can handle such news."

"You speak truth...but what angers is me is the last part...you just called me an advantage, if you expect me to fight for this village you better believe that I want a favor first. Oh no worries though as my request will help me take control of Isobu, I want you tell me everything you know about Isobu coming here to this village, I don't care if it will breach security or if its in a forbidden scroll locked on the way on Mount Myuboku! I want every report and every fingerprint that was recorded the days Isobu was here...the more I know the more I can tame this thing!"

Ryuu had been walking with his Bodyguards for almost the whole night. And by walking, he meant sprinting. So many hours had passed, and he was finally given admittance into Kirigakure. Currently, he and his bodyguards stood infront of the entrance to the Mizukage's office. Ryuu knocked a few times, and then adjusted his Kazekage robes and hat, including the Mask with it.

Takeshi was going to continue on but was interrupted by the knocking on the door. "I'll get it." Takeshi got up out the chair and stretched a bit. He walked over to the door and looked through the small hole and saw someone with a hat on. He made out the symbol and his mouth dropped, He couldn't believe his eyes it was the Kazekage. What he also couldn't understand is to why the Kazekage would come here. "Mizukage-Dono...it's the Kazekage, from the Sand Village..."
