Image
Name: Maki Inoue
Age: 15
Gender: Female

Birthday: June 15
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 108 lbs
Blood Type: O+

Village: Hidden Waterfall Village (Takigakure no Sato)
Rank: N/A
Classification: Jinchuuriki

Academy Grad. Age: N/A
Chuunin Prom. Age: N/A
Jounin Prom. Age: N/A

Personality: Hyperactive, always moving and laughing and generally in a good mood and impulsive to the point of being reckless, but she tries not to let it endanger others. She is always optimistic and so hates it whenever someone is pessimistic or feeling sorry for themselves, however she can also be very understanding and is very empathetic to someone else's pain. She is very smart, but her knowledge does have a lot of holes and so she has a tendency to ask questions that others might think are basic and although she is also extremely perceptive of others if anything more than friendship is directed her way she's completely blind to it. Can seem to be overconfident at times, but that is just a mask to hide her fear of rejection and mask her own pain of lonliness.

History: She lived in Taki until she was six when she was attacked by a group of nukenin in the forest where she was playing but before they could get to her a swarm of bugs suddenly appeared and attacked them and when they left only the bones and clothes were left behind. She turned around to run back to the village but her mother who'd come to get her for lunch was staring at her in shock and fear. Her mother whispered out a single word that continues to haunt her to this day, "monster" as she turned away and ran back to the village.

Miki tried to run to catch up to her mother, hurt and confused but as she passed the water on the way to the village she caught her reflection in it and saw that she'd subconsciously partially transformed. Not knowing what else to do she ran back into the woods and hid were she was found hours later by the village leader, who had a packed traveling pack for her. He told her that it was no longer safe for her to reside in the village and that she should go to Konoha to become a ninja. He then gave her a small vial of Hero Water, hung on a chain and placed it around her neck, he told her to give it to the Hokage in exchange for accepting her. When she asked him what was going on and why she'd transformed earlier, he only shook his head and told her that she'd understand in time before ordering her to run and come back when she was strong enough to protect herself.

Since then instead of going straight to Konoha she'd been traveling around the elemental coutries, learning different jutsu and fighting styles and making them her own and even learning a bit about seals. Because Maki was often by herself in her travels and never stayed in one place for long she never learned how to read properly, so she had difficulty with reading and her writing is even worse.

At twelve when she'd been chased out of yet another village because they found out that she was different, but this time they wouldn't stop hunting her until they finally found her. When they did they dragged her out and started beating her with anything that they could find, calling her names such as "demon" and "monster". After finally falling unconscious from the pain she found herself in front of a tree with the Saichibi tied to it with vines, its wings humming madly, and she understood that this was what everyone was so afraid of even though she didn't know what it was. All she knew was that she wasn't afraid of it for some reason, though she knew that she should be. "Pathetic pupa," the demon had hissed to her and with that she fell into darkness.

When she next awoke she found herself in a clearing and that all of the people that had attacked her now laied deadat her feet, some from suicide, others had chunks of flesh torn out and others still were torn limb from limb. Falling to her knees she threw up everything that was in her stomach and when she was done she noticed that all of her wounds had healed. Getting to her feet she ran back to where she'd left her pack and got it before continuing to run until she reached a river. There she quickly washed the blood from her body and as she stared into the water an image of the beetle showed itself to her and she asked it why it was inside of her, not expecting it to answer. When it did, she heard a voice hissing inside her head and she was surprised and also furious at the answer, "After getting free of that stupid stone I was just wandering about and I when I got bored I decided to attack a village to pass the time. It was only bad luck that it happened to be your village and that someone knew enough about sealing in order to place me inside of you."

For the next three years she trained hard in order to learn how to control the demon so that it couldn't accidentally get loose and hurt anyone, but the process is slow going as the demon tries to resist and often tries to cast genjusu on others around her to make them kill themselves. During this time she learned that she was resiliant to genjutsu, and that she could only see the B-ranked ones and up, but even though she could see them they couldn't do anything to her, but she uses this to play along and when her enemy thinks that they have her she strikes back. Now at the age of 15 she thinks that she's ready to be around people on a constant basis and is heading to Konoha as she'd been ordered to do so lond ago.

Maki Inoue

Today is a good day. The sun was shining brightly up overhead, the trees shading her from the harsh rays but not so much that she couldn't feel its warmth. Birds were chirping in the trees as they flew about and the forest was just alive as she listen to the sounds. Yup today deffinatly a good day in Maki's mind. It had been nine years since she'd been told to go to Konoha by her village leader, but since he'd never said to go straight there she decided that a little sight seeing couldn't hurt. A lot had happened in that time and she was finally ready to once more have a home to go back to at the end of the day instead of sleeping on the ground or in a tree every night.

As the gates of Konoha started to come into view she let out a low whistle, impressed with what she saw. With that she hefted her small pack higher on her back as she skipped up to the gate, an eager smile in place. "Please state your name, where you're from, and business in Konoha," the chunnin asked in a lazy drawl, clipboard in hand.

"My name is Maki Inoue, I am a traveler so I'm not from anywhere really, and I'm here to see the Hokage-sama so that I can gain citizenship," she answered not at all bothered by his bored tone having heard it numerous times before when entering other villages.

"Mah, mah," the guard waved at her condescendingly as he handed her the clipboard to sign, but amused at her antics, "Hokage-sama is a very busy person you can't just drop in on the Hokage-sama unannounced you have to make an appointment first."

"Well, then it's a good thing that Hokage-sama has been expecting me for the past nine years then isn't it?" she questioned as she signed her name sloppily and handed back the clipboard before skipping on ahead before the guard could stop her.

Maki knew that from the way she dressed and acted that no one would ever guess that she was a ninja, in fact she looked like any other regular citizen, which made things easier for her since her opponents often underestimated her. No one ever seemed to notice that although she was loud, her feet never made a sound as they touched the ground. As she was skipping along to the Hokage Tower she ran across the Mizukage talking to two people without her mask on and she knew that that couldn't be good. She knew the Mizukage from her brief stay in Mist, things hadn't ended too well between them and unless she wanted to expose herself she wouldn't interfere. But then again, when had she ever really taken the time to listen to the perfectly sound reason that was coming from her head as she skipped on ahead to interfere anyway, if only to help out these two unwitting people.

"Mizukage-sama so nice to see you again, you seem to be doing well," she greeted cheerfuly as she bowed respectfully to the woman before looping her arm with the girl next to her. "Unfortunatly I don't have time to talk right now, as I am late for a meeting with the Hokage-sama, and these two are suppose to be my escort, they kinda left me behind as we were racing to the Tower. Perhaps we can catch up later?" she asked the lie coming easiy from her mouth and without waiting for an answer she was already walking off with a friendly wave and linked her other hand with the boy and walked into the crowded streets, hoping to get lost among the people.

Yugao Kenzaki

Yugao put her mask back on with an amused look on her face.

“Ho~? The Saibi?” Yugao said aloud to herself, “Ah, she finally arrives.”

As the Mizukage, Yugao had easy access to information about other villages by drawing them out casually through conversation or through blackmail. She learned that Maki Inoue is the saichibi and was sent to Konoha. She never arrived, instead one day she was at the outskirts of Kirigakure. Yugao ran a tight guard system there, and they intercepted Maki before she could find the village. Yugao herself went to go see her wanting to meet the saichibi. After looking Maki over, not even saying a word to her, she ordered the guards to release her. She told her to never try coming back for Kirigakure does not accept ninja who do not follow their village leaders’ orders.

Yugao is an articulate strategist. She never forgets anyone she meets; the first time she meets them their face and her analysis is engraved in her mind. She recorded quirks, personality traits, weaknesses, habits, every possible little detail. Though the Saibi interfered, she felt another plan hatching up. She picked up Nuibari and placed it on her hip.

Yugao caught up to Maki and grabbed her by the arm, “You do realize that if you were to have an escort, he would have been a guard at the gates. Not two children who just graduated from the academy.”

Yugao hid a smirk underneath her mask, “You just came into the village nine years late. No one knows what you are capable of. If you are to have an escort, it would not be these two, especially since right now you can be considered a threat to the village. I certainly considered you one, you didn't follow your village leader's orders. For that reason alone you can be considered a rogue ninja."

Yugao made sure everyone in the area could hear. Her tone was cold. She looked down to face Tsuki and Mana,

"Now are you two really this young lady's escort? Tsuki, I know you weren't, you came from the opposite direction and you were walking when I met you, not running like this young lady stated," her tone shifted from cold to comforting, "What about you Mana?"

Tohru Hyuga

Tohru Hyuga stood in front of her mirror with her new headband in her hands. Sighing, she lifted up her bangs that hid her terrible branch mark. She traced he mark of it remembering the sad times of the past. Letting her bangs flow over it, concealing it again, she put her headband around her neck. She had graduated yesterday and she felt pride in herself that she had accomplished something. She knew she wasn't as good as the others and her father had told her so. But she was glad that she could finally become a ninja.

Walking out of her house, people looked at her uncomfortably and she tried to hid her face by looking down at her feet. "Just walk," she thought. They continued to stare at her knowing of the demon inside of Tohru. She hated the way they treated her. Like she was just a different person that could never become successful. Someday, she would prove them wrong.

While she continued to walk, she found a few people. Tohru saw Mana Uchiha before but had never spoken to him. She also saw Tsuki who was in her class back at the academy. The others she didn't know. She watched at people that were talking, afraid to greet them. Looking around she tried to be quiet while listening to their conversations. She knew it was rude but she rarely ever see foreigners. She continued to eavesdrop hoping that she wouldn't be seen.

Maki Inoue

Maki glared heatedly down at the offending hand that had suddenly grabbed her for the briefest of moments before turning a bright smile up at the Mizukaze ready to poke holes in her analysis. "With all due respect Mizukage-sama, I've never graduated from a ninja academy or been given a headband signifying that I had any status as a ninja so how could I ever be classified as a rouge ninja if I was never a ninja to begin with? As for my getting here nine years late, well I was never given any time constraints on when to get here just to get here and since I was never a ninja I had no obligations to follow through with his orders since he was casting me out of the village. Besides my arrival here shows that I can follow orders and I still have the gift that I was told to give Hokage-sama when I arrived," she answered knowing that she wouldn't know what the gift was and not giving the other two a chance to answer, hoping that they would just go along with whatever she was saying.

The vial of Hero Water that she'd carried with her for the past nine years was only known to her and her leader and she knew that neither of them would ever give up information in any way on where it was. It was her village's most closely guarded weapon and even though she only had a small vial of it it was still more than enough. "Besides Tsuki-san, here was just coming back for me and Mana-san had probably made it all the way to the Tower before he realized that he'd left the both of us in the dust! On top of that do I look even remotely like a ninja to you? I've been traveling all over the elemental countries for the past nine years, when would I even have found the time for ninja training? Especially since I never stayed in one place for very long and whenever I was on the road I was mostly by myself!" Maki finished poking holes in her analysis, glening information on who was with her from Yugao and making sure to be just as loud and keeping her tone bright.

Maki knew that by doing this she was essentially challenging the Mizukage and stepping on dangerous ground, but that wasn't something that she was unfamiliar with. At the same time though she was also making fun of her which more than made up for being suddenly grabbed in her book, something that she hadn't made a move to get out of so far and so to her they were even now. "Now if you don't mind letting me go Mizukage-sama, as you've already so graciously already pointed out I am nine years late, wouldn't want to make Hokage-sama wait even longer now would we. These two are here to make sure I make it to the Tower as quickly as possibe, without any more of the detours or sidetrips that I am so fond of," she grinned, feeling like she'd won this round.

Yugao Kenzaki

The Mizukage let go of Maki's arm, took her mask off and let herself throw her head back in laughter. Yugao decided to let Maki see her face as she played this game with her.

'The kid's good I'll give her that much,' she thought to herself, 'not good enough though, not yet.'

Yugao smiled at her albeit a little condescendingly, "You were only six years old when you were sent here. Will you so kindly explain to me then, if you know no ninja arts, exactly how you managed to travel around the land unharmed?" she closed her eyes and continued, "In addition, I doubt your village leader would allow a six year old travel alone regardless of being a ninja or not... unless of course you have some kind of secret hm kid?" she opened her eyes again, the purple orbs feigning curiosity. With that, the Mizukage accepted Maki's challenge. Right now she didn't care that Maki had interrupted her talk with Mana and Tsuki, this was beginning to get fun.

"I'd also like to know how you managed to get to the outskirts of my lovely village. We're a tiny group of islands far away from the mainland. No one is allowed to take the boat there unless I give the ok. Unless, you know how to run on water like a ninja."

Yugao crossed her arms and looked at her with an unreadable expression. Though Yugao wore a mask to conceal her face before, now she wore it for intimidation. You wouldn't get anything out her facial expression unless she wants you to. One of the many reasons why she is the Mist's Master Gambler is that her poker face was second to none. She did not grow up in a family of master gamblers like herself without developing that necessary unreadable expression. However, she could see into others' like it was nothing, training as a ninja only sharpened her instinct and analyzing prowess. Now as the Mizukage, she gambled her entire village, that sense of urgency is what makes her even more formidable.

"So go ahead and enlighten me how you aren't a ninja."

Tsuki Yuhi

“Hello Tsuki,” The woman spoke gently.

Tsuki stopped shortly before blinking . She didn't know how to react to the woman who spoke to her. She wanted to just go passed her but in a way Tsuki wanted to believe the woman was a good person. Suddenly the woman looked as if she came alerted of another pressence. Tsuki examined and watched as the woman spoke among herself. The mysterious woman suddenly turned and crouched down to Tsuki and spoke interesting words.

"“You don’t need to be afraid of me, I’m Yugao, the Mizukage.”

Tsuki could also hear the frantic running coming towards them but listened to Yugao proving herself innocent and kind. Her tone seemed to speak towards the boy as well.
“Is that a friend of yours over there? He was running toward our direction in full speed. That’s usually a sign of excitement or urgency,”

Tsuki blinked and spoke under her breath. "Me..friends..? I don't know many people who are kind to me to be my friend.." She spoke under her breath only to be introduced by another young girl. However she was introduced to be the Saibi. "A jinchuriki..?" she asked herself curious and scared at the same time. She still had no idea she was one herself. After moments Yugao gave a point. The idea of guarding someone like this gave her a headache anyways.. Suddenly the question was posed.

"Now are you two really this young lady's escort? Tsuki, I know you weren't, you came from the opposite direction and you were walking when I met you, not running like this young lady stated,"

"Honestly. . . truthfully i wasn't but even so - someone who couldn't introduce themselves with a decent attitude doesn't deserve my pressence of an escort..." She spoke in a slightly annoyed tone.

Tsuki listened to the girl trying to seem superior however...

"Besides Tsuki-san, here was just coming back for me" Immediately Tsuki folded her arms listening to her. She was getting completely annoyed by the attitude. She wasn't going to escort anyone and if Maki had any say in it. She wouldn't hesitate against her. Tsuki continued to listen to the conversation. Obviously Yugao was quite insightful yet Maki... seemed to have quite a personality which looked down and acted superior to anyone with know respect.

"So go ahead and enlighten me how you aren't a ninja." the mizukage said.

"No allow me... this crap needs to end - and allow me to do it... Listen.. I'm not going to be someones escort, especially YOU. Perhaps the boy will help but allow me to begin walking away towards my next destination - You can follow but i wont be defending you" Tsuki said beginning to walk off.

"See you and thanks for being kind to me" Tsuki said with a wave towards the Mizukage.

Maki Inoue

Maki's face paled as her lies were revealed by Tsuki. Why would this girl deny what she was saying? Couldn't she tell that she was trying to help her? Did she know what Yugao-san was hinting at? How could she know, unless all of Konoha knew who all of the jinchuuriki were? All of these questions flew through her head round and round wondering what had happened. Now that she had been exposed she wondered what the Mizukage would do. She also wondered if the boy, Mana would abandon her as well because of what they’d said. It would be the smart thing to do, she couldn’t deny that, and it wasn’t as though she wasn’t unaccustomed to people leaving her. Although she didn't know either of these people the sting was just as bad, sometimes she wished that she wasn't so impulsive.

However none of that really mattered right now. What mattered was what the Mizukage would do to her. This was one of the few instances where she was caught lying, none of which had ended well for her before. Unlike the other times though this was a Kage who had found out that she was being lied to and she'd heard of this one's techniques and had no doubts that she could find a genjutsu that would work on her. Now Maki almost regreted traveling around the five elemental unties for the past nine years insead of going straight to Konoha, because now she wasn't under the protection of any of the villages and Yugao could do whatever she wanted to her and no one would protest. She almost regreted it until she remembered all that she'd seen and heard and learned over the years and decided that if this was a consequence to her travels then so be it.

Despite the resolve firmly in her mind and her defiant look up at Yugao-san on the inside she was scared. Still she made no move to try to cover up what Tsuki had said and said nothing to the Mizukage's questions. All she could hope for was that either the punishment was quick or that the boy Mana got her out of this and to the Hokage.

No allow me... this crap needs to end - and allow me to do it... Listen.. I'm not going to be someones escort, especially YOU. Perhaps the boy will help but allow me to begin walking away towards my next destination - You can follow but i wont be defending you" Tsuki stated finally and was off on her way

Mana had remained quite while Maki and the Mizukage continued their conversation, who ever this other strange girl was, she was indeed foolish to try and pull the wool over the eyes of a Kage even if she was from another land. Especially now that Tsuki had denied the girls initial pretense it was up to him to be her savior or allow her own lies to burn her, he sighed and shook his head before looking back up at the two of them with a false smirk and said " you wouldn't be in this situation if you weren't such a slow poke " in a mocking tone to confirm at least half of the girl's story, she would have to explain why she attempted getting Tsuki involved with a lie and her being a Jinchuriki would make the girls intentions appear to have sinister intentions when in fact she was just trying to save her own hide. This is all the help he would be providing the girl because if he actually had to continue the pretense and escort her to the Hokage he would have to vouch for her to two Kage's with no knowledge of who she really was or were she really came from so if things went south he would be in big trouble as well, he looked back and could still see Tsuki just before rounding a corner out of view, he began to back away as he said " but now that your with the Mizukage she can escort you since she will have to make her presence in the village formally known " he said as he was sure if she was walking around with a mask on all this time until now and with no leaf Jonin escorting her the Hokage was probably completely unaware that Konoha was hosting another Kage, and that simply wouldn't do.

He turned and was just about to run off to catch up with Tsuki, the real reason he was here in the first place, but stopped and turned back to them with a sly smirk " Oh and I wouldn't mention this little situation to the Hokage if I were you Mizukage-Sama, you wouldn't want it to be known that you have been here this long without going straight there first, it might create a bit of a problem " he said as he waved one last time and ran off, he hoped that would give the mizukage some incentive to keep this quite and not try and report the girl, whatever she was really here for he was sure it wasn't something threatening to the village so he didn't want her getting into big trouble but from here on out she was on her own. If she was at all smart she would listen and use what he said to her advantage because as things stood, if they went to the Hokage they would both be considered trespassing and only by keeper their mouths shut could they help each other out trouble neither of them needed to be in. He rounded the same corner and it wasn't long before he caught up with Tsuki enough to see her in the distance " Hey! Hey! wait up will ya! " he called out to her, hoping she would here him and stop.

“No allow me... this crap needs to end - and allow me to do it... Listen.. I'm not going to be someone’s escort, especially YOU. Perhaps the boy will help but allow me to begin walking away towards my next destination - You can follow but I won’t be defending you” Yugao chuckled to herself as Tsuki huffed away back to her previous destination. Yugao took the mental note of Tsuki’s attitude, tone of her voice, the expression on her face, writing out the mental profile of Kurama’s new host.

Maki was giving Yugao a defiant look. She took a quick note of her facial expression; however, Yugao’s attention was still directed towards Tsuki, “Bye Tsuki, and no problem. Let’s be friends next time I visit hm?” she said in a friendly tone. She then placed her mask back on.

"you wouldn't be in this situation if you weren't such a slow poke "Yugao hid a smirk behind her mask, she took note of how Mana was playing along. His tone of voice was mocking, face was confident and somewhat playful, adding to her notes of the boy now.

“Oh and I wouldn't mention this little situation to the Hokage if I were you Mizukage-sama, you wouldn't want it to be known that you have been here this long without going straight there first, it might create a bit of a problem” She took note of the smirk he sent her. The smirk was one that said that he was challenging her. She chuckled in response though he had already gone to chase after Tsuki.

‘Sorry kid, the stakes are too low. You and I have nothing to lose. Maki’s the only one at risk here as I have none due to the fact I’ve already been here,” she thought to herself.

Right before she could speak to Maki an ANBU wearing the mask of an ANBU from the Mist appeared before her,

“Mizukage-sama, we’re late as it is.”

Yugao nodded and addressed Maki one last time, taking her mask off, “Farewell lucky number seven.” She winked at her then disappeared with the ANBU. While jumping from tree to tree, she reviewed the info she had gathered on the three children, organizing the mental notes of them into neater profiles. She certainly liked all three of them even though two of them had challenged her. She smiled genuinely, it had been awhile since she played with the Kenzaki children and the three kids reminded her of them. She loved her village, but she loved her clan too. She missed playing with the children, as a Jounin she had far more time to spend with them than now. She missed her father and mother as well, though her father was old enough to be her grandfather he had treated her well, albeit too well as she was a spoiled child when growing up. Her father was growing old and the new head of the clan would be chosen through the gambling tournament.

“Smiling Mizukage-sama?” the ANBU asked her.

“The first thing I'll do when we get back, is visit the Kenzaki clan.”

She couldn't believe her dumb luck. For some strange reason or another Kami had decided to spare her any punishment from the Mizukage by sending an ANBU to take her away and Mana had decided to back her up. At least for now Kami seemed to look favorably on her. Maki was sure that her lucky streak wouldn't last though but she knew well enough to not think about that and to just be greatful that it had happened at all.

Smiling as widely as she could as soon as Yugao-san was gone she turned around and began to walk off once more while humming a tuneless tune. So far things were looking up for her and she couldn't wait to see how other things would change as time went on. Konoha seemed like a good place to sart over, but she wasn't blind, she'd seen the way that everyone had looked at the two people that she'd tried to help out. The girl she could understand, she semed to be more on the mean side. The boy however was really nice so she couldn't help but wonder what he'd done to recieve such looks.

In fact now that she thought about it those looks were really familiar to her. When she contemplated them more she realized that they were the same looks that she usually recieved when her secret was revealed. It made her wonder if there was more to the girl's mean attitude and how the boy could be so nice when he was surronded by that all the time, there just had to be more to the story. Not only did it make her curious of them but it also made her ashamed of herself. Traveling was just a way for her to run away from her troubles, she'd never faced them head on like those two did.

She stopped in her walk, her smile dropping as her mood dropped and she fell silent before she started walking again, smile back in place and humming. For the first time she had a goal of more than just surviving in her mind. If she was accepted into the village then she would try to get to know these two and if her secret was found out then she would endure the hate. If she wasn't accepted then she'd move on to another village and still try to get to know them as best she could (how she'd do that she had no idea at the moment but she was confident that she would think of something) and if they found out her secret then she would still endure the hate.

Walking up to the Hokage Tower she gave her name and was directed to the Hokage's office. She took a seat in one of the chairs in the hall and waited nervously to be called inside. After what seemed like forever but was actually only about fifteen minutes or so a jounin came out of the office and motioned her forwards. She nodded, took a deep breath to calm her nerves and stood up with a small hop and bright grin eager to get this over with. If she was rejected, well it would hurt but it wouldn't be the first time and it's not like she wouldn't understand. But still she hoped that she was accepted even if she knew that it wasn't likely. Maki walked to the middle of the room smile still in place as she gave a respectful bow to the Hokage. "Greetings Hokage-sama, it is nice to finally meet you. I hope that my delay hasn't made you too angry with me?" she questioned as she peeked up at him to gauge his reaction.

"Greetings Hokage-sama, it is nice to finally meet you. I hope that my delay hasn't made you too angry with me?"

Hiorama looked up from the piles of paper work when he heard the voice of the young girl that had just been called in and raised a brow for the briefest of moments, the girl spoke as if she was late to some previously scheduled appointment yet he did not recognize her nor could he find a name to match the unfamiliar face, either she was actually a total stranger or he'd gotten so swamped in the paper work that he forgot her face. There was a stack of shinobi bingo books to the left of his desk, if he could just get to them he would be able to solve this mystery but there were two problems with that. For one it would take far to long to find a single person in the stack of bingo books, and B. It would look really bad on his part for the Hokage to have forgotten a potentially important meeting. All the while contemplating this he kept his usual cheerful smile on his face as to not give away any signs of confusion.

He stood up and grabbed his hat from his desk, placing it on his head as made his way to her" Oh no don't worry about it, I've got nothing but time on my hands at the moment " He said and pat her head gently while smiling down at her. As he did this an idea came into his mind, perhaps she had made arrangements to meet the previous Hokage and has yet to learn of his sudden death in which case it was up to him to fake it all the way through as he was not yet fully versed on how to deal with such matters. Also, when he touched her he felt something strange about her flow of chakra..almost as if there was more than one to be accounted for, could the person before him actual be a clone or decoy?

" Now that you are here, what have you come for? " he said and his suspicions grew as he looked up at the two jonin that stood guard within the room, just as the two jonin stood guard at the doors of the Hokage Mansion, gave him nervous looks that was warning him to be weary of the girl. That made it clear that they were not familiar with the young girl either. He nodded to show that he understood their warnings but he wasn't too worried, he alone could handle any spy infiltrating the leaf village, but a mere child did not worry him, with two other skilled Leaf shinobi there she would quickly be taken care of if she was discovered to be a spy. It wouldn't surprise him if she was, after reading over the documents left behind by the previous Hokage it was plain to see that the good relations formed during and after the 4th Great Ninja War were deterioration, while the back stabbing and plotting nature of the shinobi world was returning. He hoped the girl didn't turn out to be a spy as it would present yet another issue to be addressed in the upcoming gathering of Kages, it was already decided before he took the seat that Konoha would be hosting the gathering this year and he was still an inexperienced Hokage the last thing he needed was something like this on his hands as the dealt with other delicate matters.

She looked up to the man curiously when she heard the calm tone and saw his smile. When he placed his hand on her she as discreetly as possible shifted out of it, uncomfortable with being touched unless she initiated it. It was odd to her that he wasn't the least bit miffed with her for taking nine years to get here. Then it hit her on what the problem was. The Hokage probably had no idea who she was, he may have even forgotten that she was suppose to show up because it had been so long ago.

Trying to give nothing away to her sudden realization she smile as innocently as she could up at the leader. "Um... you may not remember Hokage-sama but I was actully suppose to arrive nine years ago. My name is Maki Inoue and I was sent here from Taki after a little... mishap you could say," Maki watered down the chaos of the incident that had caused her to leave her home.

Looking back at the guards in the office, she didn't want word of what had happened getting around the village so soon. Even though she was determined to face her problems head on now she still wanted to delay the inevitabe for as long as possible. "I am sure that Taki's leader has already sent you a letter stating what had happened but if you would like for me to explain, if it isn't too much trouble, I ask that you're guards are sent away and I would be more than happy to answer and all questions that you have. I would really rather prefer that that information remain between us for as long as possible if you don't mind Hokage-sama," she told him, suddenly becoming shy as she blushed in embaressment and crossed her arms in front of her stomach where the seal was and shifted her weight slightly to her other foot.

His eyes narrowed and his usual smile drooped into a very brief frown at the words " little mishap ", whatever it was that delayed the girl's arrival for a full nine years had to be more than just a little mishap, the same worried looks were reflected on the faces of his personal guards especially when she asked that they be dismissed so she could explain in private. His smile resumed as he gave them a nod towards the door, it would seem that because he was a new Hokage they didn't understand how strong he really was. After all, one does not simply become a Kage from brains alone.

" Give us some privacy if you will please " he said as he turned and returned to his seat behind his desk and sat comfortably, one of them headed towards the door obediently but the other followed him to his desk, bowing as he spoke " with all due respect Hokage, I do not think it wise to leave this stranger here alone with you, the Kage meeting is close at hand and the other lands tend to send out many spies for it each year " Hiorama simply chuckled as he looked up at him " you wouldn't happen to be..questioning my judgement are you? " though he was still smiling it was clear to the man how serious Hiorama was, though he was new to this whole Hokage thing he knew enough to make sure that his subordinates didn't get into the habit of openly questioning him, if he allowed it to continue his influence as a true leader would be dulled down and that could not be allowed to happen.

" N-no, I'm not, I'm on my way out now as you wished " he said nervously as he made his way out the door behind his partner. Now that they were gone he waved the young girl over " Now tell me more about the 'little ' mishap ' that delayed your arrival for a full nine years "

Maki was relieved when she was granted a private audience with the Hokage, but when she saw the exchange between subordinate and leader, she started to get a little nervous. She walked a couple steps forward when he gestured for her to but made sure to keep her distance in case she need to make a run for it or defend herself if possible. Something that she doubted that she'd be able to do so running would probably be her best option. "Nine years ago I stumbled across some nuke nin while playing in the forrest surrounding my birth village Taki. I remember being attacked and then everything went blank..." she trailed off, looking down at her feet, not wanting her face to give away her nervousness.

"When I came to there was no sign of them, it was like they were never there and then my mother showed up took one look at me and said monster before running off. I chased after her, wanting to know what I'd done wrong. However, as we ran by the river to get back to the village I caught my reflection the water. My appearence had changed into something that was scary and I turned and ran back into the forrest to hide. The village leader found me a couple hours later and gave me a backpack, with some supplies and food and pointed me in the direction of Konoha and told me to come here. He gave me a gift to give you, Hokage-sama, in return for allowing me to train to become one of your nin," Maki explained, hanging her head lower as she knew that she would now have to explain why she didn't come right away so she took a shaky deep breath to calm herself so that she could continue.

"I... I didn't know if I could trust him so instead I ran until I came across another village. They allowed me to stay and gave food and shelter, but then... I don't know why, but I changed again and was chased out. This happened again and again, until I was twelve and they wouldn't stop chasing me until they caught me, and when they did they beat me. I lost consciousness, but is time I met the reason for their hatered, I met Choumei the Shichibi and I allowed it to use my body to save us. But when I saw the destruction it had caused I ran and trained myself the best that I could so that it couldn't get free even slightest bit. Throughout all of my years of traveling I've come across some people who have some knowledge in the ninja arts that were willing to teach me before they either found out what I was or we were forced to part ways, I used what little knowledge I had to train myself but I've come to realize that I need formal training if I want to have complete control, and the first place to come to mind was Konoha. I kept the gift safe all these years in hope that what he said was the truth, but I will understand if you turn me away because I am so late and because of this monster inside of me," she finished, her body tensing up as she readied herself for the rejection that she knew would come.

“Kaseme, Kenzaki. I expect you to be on your best behavior when there. The Mist has always been so distant with the other village and Konoha is the only one we really have made any progress with in maintaining the alliance. The rest of the villages… Well let’s just say they’re not fond of me gathering information from them so easily.”

Nagi rose from his bowing position with a devious smirk played across his face, up to no good as usual " Well my best behavior isn't exactly ideal either Lady Mizukage, but I think I can manage to behave myself just this once, and if thinks start to heat up with the other Kages and their shinobi escorts..." He swifly unsheathed on of his hooked blades and twirled it masterfully between his fingers before tightening his grip around it's handle " then you can count on me to put them in their place and show them what our ninja are made of.

Although it was essentially only an escort mission he knew full well just how tense things can get when Kages from rival nations are all in one place, prides will clash with words that hide forked tonged intentions and threats, and if things went right by going horribly wrong he would get his chance to test himself against strong shinobi from other villages. Nagis eyes drifted momentarily to the kid next to him and he wondered what use could the kid possibly be on a potentially high risk mission such as this, he certainly didn't look like much, then again he knew it was wise to never judge a book by it's cover

' ..still, this kid couldn't be no more than thirteen, must be something special ' he thought to himself as attention returned to Lady Mizukage as he returned his blade to it's home at his side, he was eager to put them to good use for once in a long time.

Hiorama Itosan

Hiorama quietly took in the girl's story, he was expected something traumatic but he would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised to find that a tailed beast be the cause of this, even more surprising was how a tailed beast was running rampant so frequently and their be no reports of it coming from other villages. It made no sense that they would try and keep something so vital on hush hush, they practically took a ticking time bomb and sent it off to Konoha as if to say ' It's your problem now, not ours ' Had she arrived at Konoha on schedule she could have very well caused a lot of chaos that they did not need, not only that but because of their decision to send her off they have become responsible for the destruction of another village, it was something that couldn't be ignored he decided right then and there he would be addressing this at the Kage meeting. He couldn't worry about that too much however, for at the moment he now had to decide what's t be done with the girl.

in recent times it seems that villages, even the Hidden Leaf, have become less responsible with their tailed beat and Jinchuriki. Probably due to leaders becoming complacent, after the last Great ninja war thanks to the ninja world's hero Naruto Uzumaki the tailed beast themselves were left in states of peace much like the the great nations, but it seems just as time has eroded their fragile peace so has it allowed the tailed beast to revert back to their naturally violent natures which some villages apparently were not prepared for. In light of this he knew he would also have to check up on the current Jinchuriki residing in Konoha...with strokes of misfortune it seemed that mere children were the only ones suitable enough to host the massive chakras of the tailed beast, precautions would have to be put in place to avoid disaster, they were fortunate enough to not have anything happen all this time like they have with the seven tails. Hiorama who was deep in thought looked up into the eyes of the girl desperately waiting for a reply, he realized that he again let his mind wonder off into things of the future without addressing the issue at hand.

" Well little one...to be honest as things are it would be ideal to have you sent to another village more..prepared to receive you, though it would be irresponsible of me to burden another village with such a volatile jinchuriki that is only self trained in maintaining a crucial balance. " He stood up and turned from her to stare out the window into the horizon of the Hidden Leaf "Yes... I suppose the best course of action would be to allow you to remain here until you can be taught to better control the tailed beast, or until we've located someone more suitable for the task in another village " he said, almost as if he was muttering to himself, in a serious tone. He then turned to her with a welcoming smile on his face

" For now, you are welcome to remain in the Hidden Leaf, but be sure to remember this is only temporary for we cannot allow you to remain here permanently for there is a delicate balance in power we must maintain between nations. Also, be sure to let no one else know what you have inside of you, it would put our village in a bad spot if others were to discover we housed two jinchuriki " in reality 3, but that was not for her to know.

It was exactly how she tought that it would be, she was being made to leave the village."Sorry for wasting your time, I'll just..." she started to say as she bowed to excuse herself when the rest of what he'd said registared in her brain and she looked up wide-eyed in shock. "Wait, did you just..." she trailed off, unable to say it out loud in case it would cause him to change his mind. But then the happiness of what she felt from his words overtook her and before she knew it a wild grin had made its way to her face as she, without thinking, lept over his desk and hugged him as tightly as possible, not careing that she messed up the stacks of papers as she repeatedly thanked him.

After a few minutes she finally had gotten herself under enough control to pry herself away from the Hokage and give him back his personal space. "I promise to do my best to keep you from regretting this," Maki exclaimed eagerly, wanting to please this man. However, something was bothering her... what was a jinchuuriki? She'd never heard that term before and with the way he used it, it sounded like it applied to her as well. Was that what they called the demon hosts? It was a chilling term, didn't it mean power of human sacrifice. If it did, she didn't like it, it brought chills down her spine.

"What the heck is a jinchuuriki? Can I meet one?" she asked in innocent curiosity, wanting to be sure of her specuations then started going off on a random train of thought of what she thought it might look like if it turned out to be some sort of creature, "I don't think that I've ever seen one before, I wonder what it looks like... Maybe it has long ears like a rabbit... oh and covered in brown fur... but what if it's some type of bug, it migt have ten legs and three pairs of wings..." and on she rambled as her imagination shaped some unknown creature.

Two ambu burst through the doors already forming hands signs as Maki lept across the table at him but immediately stood down when they realized what they perceived as a surprise attack was just the affections of an overjoyed girl " oh uhh..." they began to stammer in unison, though there faces were concealed it was clear they were both thoroughly embarrassed but one of them continued " .excuse the interruption lord Hokage, I thought.. never mind " Hiorama simply began to chuckle as he stood upright, apparently having no trouble supporting his and the weight of the child " you're quite welcome " he said to her, even though she hadn't said thank you verbally the glomp made it obvious she was extremely thankful. As she let him go and came to stand in front of him he nodded towards the papers still fluttering in the air and the two shinobi began to grab them out of the air, and retrieving the ones that had already fallen to the ground as well.

" I trust that you will little Maki, I trust you will " He said as he patted her on the shoulders, he truly did hope she could keep her promise, while alliances with other nations were in such fragile states he could not afford to have an incident on his hands, especially one that he was directly responsible for. It took great effort to earn the trust of the villagers what with his questionable history, something like a tailed beast rampaging the village on his watch would be one of the worse things that could happen, he would be responsible for the deaths of some of his villagers and shaky alliances will falter completely once word spreads of the leaf harboring multiple jinchuriki. He could see curiosity forming on her face and before he could warn her against it she blurted out the question, fortunately for them both the shinobi were too busy trying to organize the hundreds of papers perfectly to be listening. He would have to inform the elders and consult them first before anyone else found out about the current situation.

Hiorama placed one finger before his lips to warn her to be silent, he placed his hands gently on her back and began to guide her towards the door " Save your questions for they will all be answered in due time, for now how about you just head out to the village to get a feel for things around here, find the markets and perhaps began getting to know some of the villagers. We'll work out your housing and inform you later, now off you go " He gave her a very gentle push out the door and once she was on his way he turned back to the two of the masked men that had only just finished organizing the papers " Ah very good, now it is time for us to begin preparations for the meeting, the other Kages should be arriving within the next twenty-four hours "

" Yes Lord Hokage " they obediently responded in unison, each walked to opposite sides of the room and began to perform hand seals that would appear to be leading up to and earth style jutsu to the trained eye " Earth Style: Earth Flow Release! " they recited and on cue the floor within the office began to shift about for a full minute until at it's center was a spiral staircase made of stone that led down into an underground chamber were the meeting would take place, down under it is dimply lit by torches placed on support beams around a large, stone, round table with a chair for each Kage. It wasn't nearly as posh as the meeting place of the Kages decades ago, but it served it's purpose because unlike the previous place, one would have to infiltrate the village itself then the Hokages mansion just to get close. Then they would have to know the specific hand seals that move the earth in the right way to allow them access to the underground chamber, it would take far to long for one to simply force their way down as well as they would have to deal with the villages shinobi while trying to do so. It was perfect, now all that was left to do is but wait.

"Alright see you later then Hokage-sama!" she grinned brightly at him as she gave him a quick bow before sprinting out of the office, completly ignoring the guards that had suddenly entered.

The first thing that she did was to check her pockets for any cash on her and was pleased when she found a few ryo. When she searched throughout her belongings she found that she would soon need to make some more ryo soon, if she wanted to avoid having to forge for her food. Although she didn't mind sleeping outside or eating the vegitation, she did mind having to hunt for meat and particularly didn't like the messy business of skinning and cleaning it. But that problem seemed like it was going to solve itself soon enough so she didn't worry about it.

Humming to herself she skipped down the street looking for something to eat that was both delicious and affordable. As she was made her way down the street, the hevenly scent of grilled meat made its way to her nose and caught her attention. Stopping she immediatly turned her head in the direction of the smell and sprinted off in that direction. When she got there she found herself at a resturant and without heditating she walked right in and grabbed one of the takeout menus as she waited for the hostess to return.

"Are you ready to order Miss.?" a teen girl asked and as she looked up she noted that she was probably a couple years older than her.

"Yeah, can I have this please?" Maki asks as she points to the picture of the item on the menu that she wanted like a child.

"The yakitori it is, I'll have it out to you as soon as possible, just take a seat and make yourself comfortable," she offers as she writes down her order.

"Thank you" she says as she takes a seat. Ten minutes later the girl returns with her order and she pays before taking it and leaving the resturant with the sturdy disposable plate in one hand and a stick of yakitori in the other and munching on it happily as she wandered the streets aimlessly.
