Appearance: Standing at about 6 feet, Lance is fairly tall, though not startlingly so, and has a slender, rather lanky build. His hair is a dark bronze color, and he has some tabby markings on his tail and ears. His ears also have small tufts of hair on the tips, like one might find on a wildcat's. Almond shaped, with long, thick eyelashes, his eyes are a pale aqua blue, with no whites and a slit shaped pupil, giving them a catlike appearance. His overall appearance gives an impression of lean, confident ability.
Personality
Lance is friendly, cocky and smart. He loves being around people, and also holds good conversation in high esteem. However, he dislikes authority; anyone that tries to tell him what to do is eyed with great dislike and obvious disdain. He gets angry fast, and occasionally very unpredictably, but cools down quick and rarely takes anything seriously enough to actually get upset.
He likes messing with people's heads, and enjoys clever word games and contests of wit. However, physically he can be a bit lazy, and some might say shiftless. Easily bored and always looking for new things, he has trouble focusing on one task at a time, and is also a bit dishonest, though once you have won his loyalty, you have it for a long while. He always seems confident and self assured, and is rarely at a loss for words. Often comes across as flirty or arrogant, and probably is.
Special Skill: Quick wit and the ability to lie without batting an eyebrow.
History
Lance was raised by a single mother who was often busy and had a hard time devoting enough attention to her son. Though Lance understood that his mother had to work to feed him, he always felt a bit of resentment about it. When he was about 15, he fell in with the wrong crowd. Here, he learned the bitter truths of the world, and learned to steal, lie and cheat his way to the top. When his mother found out, she told him that he was on his own.
After that, he was forced even deeper into a criminal activity, visiting his mother every once in a while. After arriving at their home to find her kidnapped by slavetraders, the worry that his 'friends' might sell him into the same fate became stronger. He had to get out, somehow..... And so he joined a small group of Nekos that were running from the humans, determined to find a place where he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
So begins...
Lance strutted towards where he had agreed to meet the rest of the group.... Despite his confident stride and the slight smirk on his lips, inwardly a small feeling of doubt and suspicion tugged at his emotions. What if this was all a set up? What if the Nekos were traitors? What if...? Realizing that these thoughts never got him anywhere, he tossed his head as if to shake the questions away.
Halting as he heard a humming, his ears swiveled around to pinpoint the noise, quieting his footsteps to sneak up on whoever it was. He did not intend to let whoever it was see him before he had seen them. Creeping forward, he crounched in the bushes and peered out. After spotting the Neko girl, he decided it was one of his new traveling companions and stood up, grinning and calling a hushed, but friendly 'Hallo' in her direction.
