"Gods I hate this boring job," the slightly overweight olive-skinned man groaned over the radio.
Coars' is of course watching his fellow guard on the camera, "If you want, come over this way and I'll take over doing the point, click and be spooky."
He smirks as he listens for his acceptance of the light workout going through all the rooms of the museum. He glances across the camera monitors quickly once more in case there was something that had been missed, keeping an eye out for anything different than before.
Nothing is obviously amiss. That is until Mik passes a camera blind spot and doesn't reappear.
All said in this usual cheerful voice, though he does pause at not seeing Mik appear in anymore of the cameras.
"Mmm hey Mik, Camera 5 seems to be faulty. You aren't showing up when you should have gotten there. Mind getting back to me?"
"Come on Mik, please be a prank."
Coar watched with a shocked look for several seconds before glowering and looking around. His buddy was going to die if he didn't get help, but he could end up a victim too if he didn't do anything about it.
He had to activate the silent alarm and keep Mik alive, keeping his eyes peeled for what did this.
Coars will head down the stairs, trying not to make much noise. If he can get to the academics in time, there was a chance to save Mik and stop whoever did this.
The door to the lab proper is wide open. Cold radiates from beyond.
Coars heads right for the lab proper at that, grimacing as he knows he lost surprise, but he had to get her moving and out of there. They could help each other after all while he tried to slow whoever it was down.
Also, it was glowing. Presumably this was in response to the ice creeping over it.
The cloaked woman turned to face Coars, strange mist from her blade still flowing to the artifact.
"Beautiful... isn't it?" she smiles, cold madness in her eyes.
"I wonder what you hope to accomplish here, since I see the beauty but it's marred thanks to what you've done this night. Not usual here, especially this time of night. Nor is it, usual for one to find anything concerning this I imagine."
He rubs his head further then stares at her at that, "Really don't think you've thought things through."
It got even colder as the ice grew, causing Coars' breath to fog.
"I'm almost there my sisters. At long last our duty can be realized!" she rejoiced.
He shivered, "Liquid Nitrogen but then where is it stored?"
He couldn't stop his fogging breath as he hears her rejoicing about it, worriedly looking between her and the framed crystal.
She turned back to the Godstone and raised the sword.
"Behold! The lost power of the gods!" she cried, plunging the sword into the cold weakened crystal. The glow quickly became blinding as an invisible force pushed at Coars.
--------------
Coars floated in whiteness. As he drifted, a great dais materialized before him and, between great golden columns covered in stylized flames, a dragon.
Coars couldn't stop staring up at the dragon, or at the columns. If this was a dream, he didn't know what to think of it. He certainly never had any like this. Though he looks down at his chest, wondering what that last sensation was.
