ImageCharlie was sleeping peaceful until he felt the unmistakable feeling of someone watching him. That's been happening lately, this looming feeling like he was never really alone, and for a kid who just lost his parents, one might take comfort in that but this was a dark feeling, a sense of doom and malady, like someone's hand reaching out from behind. His eyes sprang open--"Jesus Fucking Christ! Gram! What the hell?!"He gasped, looking up to see the aging blonde woman looming over him like a medical examiner. "Deciding." She said plainly. "What?!" He gasped again, pulling his blankets up over his bare chest. "What I am going to do with you..." She said and Charlie groaned and his eyes found the clock. "Serious--6 am?! Ugh...." He stumbled out of bed, thankfully he was wearing sleep pants, otherwise this would have been that much more awkward. You would think he was used to this by now. He's grandmother was seven kinds of crazy and after his mother's died, she's added about six more. She walked out of the room like nothing happened and Charlie groaned exasperatedly, running his hands down his face. He lumbered into the bathroom, took a nice long shower behind a locked door.

The hot water soothed his body, still sore from the ass kicking he received yesterday from a jock to whom he made look stupid in front of the entire school. He called him 'a fundamental ignominious, who's only real usefulness was being the obstacle every loner, outcast and misfit must overcome before finding themselves and once high school was over, he'd been sitting at home watching one the nerds he'd pummeled in high school, achieve greatness.'

Charlie was known for his long winded insults. It amused him...until of course, he had the shit kicked out of him...that usually killed the mood.

It took a lot before he actually said something though. As sarcastic and witty as he was, he usually kept to himself, he had no siblings and aside from a few acquaintances, he was pretty much on his own, to mask his social ineptitude, he put on this asshole persona, as if he didn't give a good damn about a thing...that wasn't true but less could get taken away if people thought you had nothing to lose...

He gingerly showered and dressed. A long sleeved stripped shirt, with thumb holes at the sleeves, a black skull graphic tee over that and some loose fitting skinny jeans with a pair of beat up old Converses. He made his way down to the kitchen where his grandmother was doing whatever it was she did in the morning beyond watching him sleep.

"Eat your breakfast, Charlie, this'll help with the soreness in your ribs." She said, placing down plate of eggs and bacon and how she knew he didn't care. She just randomly knew things, it was beyond weird, for reasons previously explained. she leaned against the fridge, her arms crossed and with a cigarette between her long fingers.

"Those things'll kill you." He said plainly as he dug into his food. "Does it look like a care?"
"No, but there are those electric johns that they have at Walgreens, try those, since I don't wanna die and you don't wanna kill me " He said smartly. She pursed her lips. " If you had a sister..." She said and Charlie rolled his eyes, as she gave him a dirty look before sauntering out of the kitchen.

Charlie finished his food and grabbed his bag, and headed to school....not. He was skipping today, he didn't not want to go to school with his ribs this sore, he knew he couldn't keep his mouth shut and it would likely result in even more pain, so he decided he'd wander New York. He popped in his headphones, as he thought about what his grandmother said and he sighed. She never liked him but she was his own family so they were stuck together, she wanted a granddaughter and had urged his mother to try again and again, for a girl and they were trying for another child but just not for her sake, but just that they wanted another child. His parents loved him to pieces and vice versa, Their death still stung and his grandmother did nothing to make it better. He felt pressure behind his eyes and blinked them back and turned up the music.
He made his way down the street and soon he felt that feeling again, like someone was following him, it was dark and cold. He causually looked behind him and found just the usually crowds of people, but no one after him. It didn't stop him from picking up his pace he looked ahead and looked back, as the feeling grew worse, he was unsettling, so much so that he ran smack into a dark haired woman, that seemed oddly out of place on the pier. he could have sworn she wasn't there a moment ago.

"Oh, Sorry, Miss, I didn't see you there."

"The fault was mine. I have a tendency to take people by surprise." The dark haired woman said, she looked at him oddly and made Charlie feel a bit uncomfortable, as if he didn't have enough to worry about. [color=darkblue] "If you'll excuse me, I have an errand to attend to.." She said and sort sidestepped him, as if avoiding touching him or turning her back to him. "Ookay, well...um, yeah..." He said before walking passed her, shoving his hands in his pockets and decided, he was gonna check out some stores. He noticed one called Magic Muffins and snickered. He shrugged and stepped inside. The bell rang, alerting his entrance. He looked around idly, and shrugged, he had been considering getting a job since his folks died, and this place, looked like just the quiet, not much work-but enough work to get him out of the house type of job he was looking for. It had potions and baked goods. He didn't really know much by the way of supernaturals, but he read alot, and he was a quick study, He decided to ask the lovely woman at the counter for a job.

He cleared his throat, to get her attention away from the people she was talking to. "Excuse me, Um, Ma'am?"He said, rubbing the back of his neck, uncomfortably.

Regina blinked a couple times, watching the witch closely and sighing softly as she looked down at her purse when she went to the back. Her eyes instantly flew open wide at the price of how expensive it was, and even though it wasn't a huge problem for her, she was still a bit surprised at how high that went up."That's fine." Was all she said and she sighed, taking out her check book which had little bats on it and starting to scribble the information down onto it. Once she was finished, she slid the check across the counter and then made a note to herself to let her brother know about her pricey buy.

When the witch mentioned the other witch Regina was looking for, she raised an eyebrow, a bit puzzled at the fact that this witch was facing some issues with safety.
"I swear, I wouldn't harm her. I just need this ring enchanted, I'm having a really hard time on my own in daylight right now. I mean, if there's anyway I could help keep her safe, I will gladly help her out." Regina said, offering a sincere smile towards the witch before she blinked when she heard someone address the witch right behind her and she turned, raising an eyebrow. She wasn't exactly done with her conversation, but if the witch wanted to change subjects during their exchange, Regina wouldn't be a bitch about it. Although she did offer a bit of an irritated look, she looked away again, smiling at the witch and starting to play with her own long hair, biting her lip softly.

Rose gave a nervous smile to Regina, she could feel the irritation at the price of the decanter but it was a very rare and valuable artifact, the runes were ones no normal enchantress could even think to copy the runes. Rose clicked her tongue when Regina agreed not to hurt her friend and even offered to help protect her.

”Oh, you won’t need to worry about protecting her, once you leave her house you won’t even remember what you were there for and who was even in it. She has runes surrounding the house, you won’t even get near if you wanna hurt her."

As Rose was about to start the incantation and then tell Regina of the witch’s address but then the bell above the door jingled and Rose looked over Regina’s shoulder, a teen with shaggy brown hair and deep brown eyes stood there

"Excuse me, Um, Ma'am?" , she slightly recognized the boys face but what she remembered was a photo from years ago. Rose looked back to Regina and shrugged.

”Sorry, this shouldn’t take too long and I can’t perform the vow or tell you about Wilma’s address unless we’re alone.” Rose stepped out from behind the counter and went up to the teen. ”Hey, Michaelson? Isn’t it? You don’t know me, but I know your gran… well my mother knows her and your mum. I’ve seen a few photos of you when they visited. But as far as jobs go, I’m sure I can find you something to do, around here, it is only me and it can get quite busy sometimes.”

Charlie was thoroughly confused. She knows of him? His grandmother and mother? That was odd, he didn't know her, she was really pretty he was fairly certain he'd remember her, stranger still, she knew what he was going to ask, and said yes. He smirked.

When she knew random things, it was cool, when his grandmother did it, it was just plain creepy.

"Uh, Alright, cool." He said rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm Charles--er Charlie, call me Charlie, Thanks for the um, job?" He said and removed his jacket and tied the sleeves around his waist. "What do you need to me to do, I'm good with like restocking supplies.." he said and finally took a look at what this store actually was. It was one of those witchy places with all the herbs and potions and stuff, his mother used to come to places like this, he's used to tag along....maybe that's how she knew him. He frowned a bit and shook away the thoughts as the dark feeling began to grow again. He turned his attention, or at least half of his attention to the woman, and held out his hand for her to shake.

"Uh, Alright, cool. I'm Charles--er Charlie, call me Charlie, Thanks for the um, job? What do you need to me to do, I'm good with like restocking supplies.." Rose smiled at Charlie, she found it refreshing he wanted to work, but it made her left eyebrow lift curiously and her to smile to spread.

”You're eager to work, aren't you?" She chuckled slightly, before looking over at Regina. ”Well, I just need to finish up with this customer and then I can give you an actual task, besides just bringing some ingredients out to the front and putting them on the shelves."

Rose smiled at Charlie, she hadn't even realised she'd picked up on his reason for being there and when she finally did, it caused a slight blush to form over her cheeks, a lot of people hated it when a witch pried into their mind and Rose hated doing it too.

”Sorry, I know some people hate the telepathy, it's one of our passive senses, some of us don't really notice we're doing it."

”You're eager to work, aren't you?" She said and Charlie shrugged. He was trying his best to avoid school, and his grandmother, and distract himself from whatever was following him so yes, he really was.
”Well, I just need to finish up with this customer and then I can give you an actual task, besides just bringing some ingredients out to the front and putting them on the shelves."

"Alright, I can do that." He said with a simple shrug.

”Sorry, I know some people hate the telepathy, it's one of our passive senses, some of us don't really notice we're doing it." She said after blushing and Charlie cleared his throat. "It's cool, my grandmother does it all the time....It's less creepy when you do it, like a lot less," He said and smirked, with a small blush of his own.
He rubbed his nose and pointed to the back. "Just tell me what you need, Boss, I'm assuming everything's back there?" He said changing the subject as he started toward the back.
