a character in “Out of Despair - The Magus and the Undine”, as played by Tsukiakari

Description

Undine, The Tempest's Sword
Image

Gender: Female
Age: 17
Race: Nature Spirit of Water, of a Humanoid type, known as an Undine, from which she takes her own noun of address. Despite this, she bears some Human features and is capable of utilizing Human magic that should be outside her range of power, calling her true lineage into question. As she is most similar to the Kyrnese people of the south, it seems likely that she bears some of their blood in her veins, also.
Appearance: Standing at five feet four inches, Undine isn't exactly formidable save in her rigid, cold demeanor, which is rather off-putting. Her frame is lithe and small, with narrow shoulders and waist branching out into long, slender limbs. Her body itself seems lean and fragile, soft, pale skin curving into a mature figure that could, despite this, best be compared to a doll: appealing, as though artificially crafted with beauty in mind, and yet somehow lifeless and mechanical.

Undine's face does little to break from this image. With soft, rounded cheeks that look almost as though they are made from rose-painted porcelain, a small nose and chin, and petite, ever-so-slightly pointed ears that are generally concealed beneath her hair - a single, flowing cascade of raven black reaching clear to her waist, meticulously kept in order so as to be perfectly straight, with bangs just long enough to frame her eyes and face without fully covering them, even when she hangs her head low, and occasionally ornamented by strands of tassled and beaded red ribbon or string - pursed pink lips, and white teeth, her countenance is generally expressionless, emotions only ever showing upon its canvas rarely, and in very small, controlled amounts. For her, a slight, even melancholy smile could be considered akin to a laugh of joy, and a noticeable frown like irrepressible tears.

By far the most odd feature about Undine is, however, not her strange demeanor, but rather her eyes. Although Undines usually have bright blue eyes - not to mention hair - hers are instead an emerald green and jet black hue, respectively, more like the usual eye and hair colors of the Kyrnese people. And yet, at times, especially during battle, her right eye seems to shift over to a burning sapphire blue, clashing with her unchanged left eye...

Undine has two sets of clothing in which she is usually seen. The first is her standard garb - pictured below - consisting of a pinstriped, button-up white silk blouse, over which she wears a short, smart navy blue dress, trimmed with bands of gold and lined with small adornments of lace, its neck held closed by a ribbon of red velvet. Finishing this ensemble with a pair of leather boots, she appears as a domestic servant ornamented with clothing befitting the status of her noble masters.

Her second outfit, pictured to the left, serves as her attire in combat. Matching the same blouse as above, she instead wears a much less bulky knee length gray skirt. Over both of these garments, she then dons a vest of tight, hard black leather, serving as armor in battle and having a set of tails that hug her legs, providing them with protection, also. Completing this outfit, she wears leather vambraces and leggings, and a matching, dark-colored mantle, meant to conceal the twin swords she wears on her back. All of these outer garments are trimmed with bands in silver and light blue, as befitting a warrior in the service of the nobility.
Equipment and Weaponry: Undine generally takes with her whatever provisions may be appropriate for the situation at hand, and is almost never seen without her sister swords, pictured here. Forged with the very best materials available by a master Gardian smith, and enchanted with several spells to increase their durability, lightness, and cutting power, they are very formidable, powerful weapons, ranking amongst the Noble Blades wielded by the strongest Magus families in quality.
Magus Classification: Level 1 Pure, by Human terms.
Domains of Manipulation: As an Undine, she has the power to assimilate and control every aspect of all forms of water she comes into direct contact with, using either her own body or the bodies of water she has gained control of. Once she has finished manipulating a body of water, it is absorbed into her body as a means of regenerating herself and her power. Thus, she is only capable of taking control of water for a short time - I.E. the duration of a fight - thus limiting her range. This assimilation process is somewhat slow, as well, taking some time to fully come under her control. One unique ability she possesses is to dissolve her body completely into water, and reform it using the water at a nearby location, allowing her a limited means of hyper-movement that it close to teleportation.

However, she also has been shown to possess a true Human Domain, that of "Air." Due to her low Level and the Purity of her Domain, her range is severely limited to about five meters from her own person, but within this area, her control is without peer, allowing her to create very formidable barriers and to assail enemies in close quarters with the very air itself. Combining this power with her water manipulations in the form of vapor, she can extend her reach somewhat to mount attacks, also, but, in general, her control of air rarely leaves this area around her, serving more as a defense or a means of extensive physical reinforcement than as an attack.
Personality: Cold, stoic, and quiet, Undine rarely speaks, nor even really reacts to much of anything. She accepts her master's orders without question, completes them without complaint, and shows little emotion in anything. She is a perfect servant: one with no feeling or will of her own, instead serving her master absolutely, and without fail. More to come later.
Background: Unknown. All that is known is that she is the Familiar of Artemis Kyrnis, son of the Kyrnese Margrave, and his loyal servant and right hand at the Arcanum Academy.
Other: None as of yet.

So begins...
