She broke us.

After months of mind-breaking, sadistic challenges, she did it. But as she looked at our scarred faces and studied the horror in our eyes, she felt something inside her click. After trying so hard to break us she seemed to feel guilty, as if she wanted to take it all back. But that was impossible, and so was escape from this hellhole--- or so it seemed.

She offered us a deal. At the very end of the course, there was a giant tree. At the very top hung a glowing red apple, one with the power to teleport a person home with a single bite. She told us that apple was the only way out of here, and we would have to climb all the way up the tree to go and retrieve it. When we asked why she couldn't just teleport us out herself or get the apple for us, she hung her head and explained she had not the power. The apple would die if it so much as grazed her fingertips, and her power was limited to this dimension-- she teleport people in, but not out. We had to climb and get the apple ourselves. But before we tried, she warned us--- this tree was no normal tree. It was infested with scorpions, spiders, giant birds and all manner of things bad. Climbing the tree and reaching the apple would be difficult, and if one died on the way up, everyone would be sent back to the beginning of her array of challenges and be forced through them all over again before they could reach the tree again.

If we couldn't reach that apple, we would be forever stuck in an endless loop. Even if we tried just staying in the room with the tree forever, eventually one of the birds would swing down and kill one of us in one hit, sending us all back to the beginning...

The challenges were the equivalent of hell. For years, we went through them, got to the tree, tried for the apple, failed, and had to repeat the process all over again... each time the challenges were different, more terrifying and just as mentally debilitating.

Can you imagine?

HELL.

This story starts a long time ago. It starts with a young girl who was sick of her life and just about everyone in it. Constantly pelted by grief, hardship and abuse, one day, this girl broke. She put a knife to her throat and decided to end it all there.

But her hatred and hardship was so great, when she passed, she was offered a rare opportunity. She could get revenge on her family, her 'friends', all those who opposed her, made fun of her, and made her life a living hell. She could become a demon and inflict all kinds of horror on them all. The girl accepted without hesitance, quickly returning to Earth in her new, demonic form and brutally murdering everyone she ever knew. But that wasn't enough. Everyone had to know her pain.

She began killing everyone in sight, but that quickly became dull. She wanted to do more than kill. She wanted to make them suffer like she did--- she wanted to break them in every way possible, over and over again. So she devised a plan. With her demonic powers, she managed to create an entirely different dimension. Whoever entered would be greeted with terrifying challenges based on their life, personality, loved ones, and more. It would be their own personal hell.

The girl searched for victims to thrust into this dimension of hers for years. Only so many people could enter, so she had to pick very carefully.

In the end, she ended up with five perfect people. She couldn't quite figure out what it was, but something about these people spoke to her. They felt familiar in a horrible way, and it was through that unexplained hatred toward them that she decided they would be her victims. It wasn't their backstories, nor their voices or their friends. It was something about the way they looked that reminded her of something bitterly sweet.

With a snap of her fingers and a quick flash of light, she teleported them into her demented dimension. There they were tortured mentally and physically for years and years, always entertained by a false hope that kept them running and the girl laughing.

She told them of a tree that was absolutely impossible to climb and a 'magic' apple that would teleport them home. Of course, the story was completely fake, but they were too desperate to realize it.

...Well, for a while, they were.

The victims were fed up. After years and years of this, it wasn't hard to figure out the girl was just messing with them. They weren't even sure if the apple was real or not. And whether or not it was, it was nearly impossible to reach. The only reason they clung onto the idea of the apple for so long was because they needed a way--- any way out of this hellhole, but it was more clear now than ever before they needed a different way out. Any way out, no matter how risky or stupid. So now, as they go through the challenges once again, they are determined to escape. As they conspire against the girl--- who calls herself 'Life'--- they will be forced through terrifying challenges all over again with no break whatsoever, no time for discussion or any real safety to speak without Life listening. It seems hopeless, but if they find her one weakness, they may have a chance...

So, there are a few things I want to point out before you reserve and come up with a face claim. First of all, this is a first come, first serve type of roleplay. If you don't like that, I'm sorry, but that's just how I roll. Secondly, if all the character slots are filled I may allow a few more characters to squeeze in--- two more at the ABSOLUTE most. Thirdly, you know how I mentioned Life felt something about the five that made her pick them? Well, it was because they looked like fairy tale characters from books from her childhood. So please try to pick face claims that look like a certain fairy tale character, and name this fairy tale character when you are reserving. Thanks! <3

We're going to try and keep this as even as possible. (I know there are only five characters, so it will be uneven, but I at least want to have 3 girls and 2 boys or 3 boys and 2 girls, not 5 girls, 5 boys, etc..)

My only warning is before use is that the coding is a *little* funky (and the thing is more than likely riddled with mistakes) so... bleh. Just make it pretty. I'll be editing it every five seconds because no doubt I'll find a mistake every five seconds. .....I apologize in advance.)

This is probably the most important rule on here. We roleplay to have fun. That is law. If you're not roleplaying to have fun, if you don't roleplay and achieve fun, then you are breaking the law. Do us a favor and don't break the law. Have fun, goddammit. Also, when you're reserving, list the name of your favorite song! And post a funny gif.
Keep fights IC.
Fights IC stay IC. Please don't take fights OOC and make everyone uncomfortable. No one wants to hear you quarrel, let alone be in the quarrel. Next password instruction: mention my favorite song when reserving.
Be committed.
No one likes someone who bails. It ruins the entire roleplay for everyone. It creates what you call a dead roleplay. That's the last thing I want. So if you're going to be out for a while, if you have to bail, please, at least tell me. It may not seem like it, but it does soften the blow. And try to be committed to this roleplay, okay? I understand you have a life outside of this website. I do, too (lies.) But try to post at least three times a week, if not more.
Be literate.
Please oh please be literate. 400 words a post, at the very least. No exceptions! (I check >:S) And please, have decent grammar and spelling. It's not that hard to click the little red line, is it? I understand a few mistakes now and then, and they're fine as long as they don't mar the quality of the post.

oh! My favourite song is Lost Time Memory from Kagerou Project, although Izayoi Seeing, Trashy Innocence, the whole Kagerou Project album and Hand of Houses are a close second. Also Joydreamer covers but eh. I have way too many songs to count lol.

I'll have to add Sound of the Wind to the list of songs my friends insist I listen to. I've never heard it before =P Today my favorite song is a three way tie between Let's Get Ridiculous by Redfoo, 7 years by Luke Graham, and Migraine by Twenty One Pilots.
I already messaged you about my fairy tale character and I'll edit this as soon as I choose, it's definitely going to be a female though and the hex codes are going to be #990099 and #9955ff.

Hex code is probably navy I guess? And well, for Fairytales I was thinking either the third son or the cat from Puss in Boots. Probably the third son; he's not as well developed as the cat haha.
