Melody hardly had a chance to scramble to her feet before the professor grasped her hand and shook it with strength that took het by surprise. As he did so, however, Melody felt herself fill up with something she hadn't felt in a long time. Purpose. Purpose like she felt when she had recieved her Sandile from her mother, like she felt when she defeated a gym leader or a league member, like she felt when she was flying with Swanna and the region they were heading to appeared on the horizon. Melody couldn't help but allow a small smile to cross her face as she released the Professor's hand, taking a step back. She'd filled in the rest of his praise in her mind. "I don't know this region very well." She admitted. "But I'm happy to accompany you." Melody would have said more, but found she couldn't think of the words.
Silently Melody glanced around at the small team of four, dropping to the ground and sitting back on the cushion. She looked up at the map of Kanto Oak had drawn on, a small frown crossing her face. Unlike Unova, Kanto seemed to be mainly 'off the beaten track' routes. Grass, mud, forests, caves. All places these mutations could hide. The threat level was heightened by the fact Melody wasn't too brushed up on her knowledge of Kanto pokemon and the places they hung out.
Once again, Melody felt a pang for home.
With a small shudder Melody shook the thoughts away. Griff had seemed to jump in rather quickly to sign up to this suicide mission. Melody tilted her head to look at Griff sat next to her, fixing her intense stare on him. "You know, you don't have to join up just to look good." She said quietly.
