Personality: At first appearance, Ciaran looks like your average guy, however; he is not. Behind his façade is a young man who has the need for power and will do anything to get it. He is a driven individual and usually does not need motivation of any kind for him to reach a goal he has set his mind to. He is a bit selfish and vain, in that he only thinks about what could prove useful to him or beneficial. He doesn’t like to make connections as his mind is usually occupied with becoming stronger. He is calculative, and strategic, always trying to predict his opponents moves on the spot and can usually come up with a good defense/offense within a few seconds.
History: Ciaran was born to a strict father and a Gym Leader mother. His mother specialized in Water Pokémon while his father wasn’t a trainer, at all. He taught Ciaran the important things in life, and wanted him to grow up a strong man who did not need to rely on any one or Pokémon to protect himself. Instead, Ciaran was pushed to his limits and to this day, appreciates what his father was trying to teach him. Ciaran, at a young age, set off to become a Pokémon master, and to prove to his father that he was not a failure. To start him on his journey, his father gave him a Pokémon, Gible, who had been his father’s first Pokémon ever captured. Ciaran expressed his gratitude and left his family at the age of eight years old. Ten years down the road, Ciaran is currently traveling with his Pokémon team and is on his way to become a Pokémon master and a new dream: The Champion.
Pokemon Team:
Pokémon Nickname: Dyret
Pokémon Nature: Quiet
Pokémon Ability: Sand Veil
Held Item: Dragon Fang
Pokémon History: Dyret was the first Pokémon Ciaran obtained. Dyret was the first Pokémon Ciaran’s father ever caught as Ciaran’s father was not a Pokémon trainer. He wanted his son to have a strong Pokémon, and knowing the evolved form of Gible, gave Gible to his son to raise as his first. Dyret, as a Gible, was a quiet Pokémon, never really leaving Ciaran’s side. Ciaran, at first took this as a sign of weakeness and usually left Gible to his own devices. It wasn’t until Ciaran’s first major battle that Ciaran understood why Gible was a quiet Pokémon. It was because Dyret was watching his opponents moves and doing exactly what Ciaran did, calculating a strategic offensive/defensive attack. Since then, Ciaran and Dyret became an unstoppable team. Dyret first evolved during a battle against Dyrisk, the first Pokémon they captured together. Gyarados had proven to be formidable, and Ciaran wanted the Gyarados. It was another year before Dyret evolved again into a Garchomp. This evolution occurred during a Gym Battle against Claire of the Johto region. Her dragon Pokémon were stronger than Ciaran had anticipated and at the end of the battle, Ciaran won. Dyret is currently Ciaran’s most powerful Pokémon.
Move set:
- Dragon Rush
- Earthquake
- Flamethrower
- Dragon Pulse
Pokémon Nickname: Dyrisk
Pokémon Nature: Serious
Pokémon Ability: Intimidate
Held Item: Deepseatooth
Pokémon History: Dyrisk was the first Pokémon Dyret and Ciaran captured. Although Dyret was still a Gible, Dyrisk was already a Gyarados and a lot stronger than the Dragon Pokémon. Dyrisk was an unusual Gyarados, as she swam with a herd of Magikarp, seeming to be their protector from trainers alike. When she defeated a Dragonair, Ciaran decided to capture her. It was a long battle that ended when Dyret evolved into Gabite and defeated Dyrisk with an Earthquake attack. Dyrisk was bitter after her capture and would usually go into a rampage when Ciaran tried to use her in battles. It wasn’t until Ciaran managed to sway the large beast into becoming his. Since, Dyrisk has proved her strength on more than one occasion and is currently Ciaran’s second most powerful Pokémon.
Move set:
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Water Pulse
Pokémon Nickname: Skygge
Pokémon Nature: Brave
Pokémon Ability: Rivalry
Held Item: Leftovers
Pokémon History: Haxorus was the second Pokémon Dyret and Ciaran captured. At the time, Skygge was originally an Axew, but he had shown tremendous courage and bravery when fighting against his fellow Axew and Fraxure. After being kicked around a few times, Axew managed to defeat one of the Fraxure’s that had been attacking him. When the other Fraxure had decided to gang up on Skygge, Ciaran stepped in with Dyret, who was an evolved Garchomp. Although he wasn’t particularly strong, Ciaran still wanted the Axew as he believed he would be a valuable asset to his team. He was proven right when Axew won his first Gym battle by himself. Axew evolved during this particular Gym battle into Fraxure. Skygge eventually evolved again into his final form, Haxorus during a battle against Dyret. He had challenged Dyret to a battle to see who was the stronger Pokémon. Although he lost, he still held his head high. He is Ciaran’s third most powerful Pokémon.
Move set:
- Dragon claw
- Dragon Pulse
- Poison Jab
- Aerial Ace
Pokémon Nickname: Synsk
Pokémon Nature: Quiet
Pokémon Ability: Overgrow
Held Item: Miracle Seed
Pokémon History: Synsk was a tricky Pokémon to capture. She had been a Snivy at the time, and had managed to avoid every single attack Ciaran had made. It made him more determined to capture the sly Snivy. Once he had, Synsk became extremely attached to Ciaran, never leaving his side and often stayed out of her pokéball. Her power was undeniable when she managed to defeat a Pansear, and a Simisear, both who belonged to a Team Rocket member. Even though the type disadvantage would have had either of the monkey Pokémon the advantage, Snivy still managed to win. During a practice battle, Snivy was pitched against Dyrisk to see how strong she was. She evolved during the middle of the match and managed to defeat Dyrisk, once. Since then she hasn’t been able to defeat Dyrisk, even with a type advantage. Synsk eventually evolved into her final form during a battle against Ciaran’s mother. Being a Gym Leader, it was inevitable that they would face off. Having a type advantage, Synsk managed to defeat all of Ciaran’s mother’s Pokémon. As of now, her Slam attack is a force to be reckoned with.
Move set:
- Leaf Blade
- Slam
- Dragon Tail
- Solarbeam
Pokémon Nickname: Isen
Pokémon Nature: Hardy
Pokémon Ability: Poison Point
Held Item: N/A
Pokémon History: Isen was obtained as a Nidorino. Originally, Ciaran had a Joltik whom Ciaran had captured. Not really much into bug Pokémon, he traded with a bug catcher for his Nidorino. Isen made a name for himself when he managed to overpower Dyret and defeat him. Nidorino managed to defeat Pokémon twice his size and twice as powerful, and it was a trait that Ciaran began to covet in Isen. Originally, Ciaran did not want Isen to evolve, and believed he could bring out Isen’s potential as a Nidorino. This however was changed when Isen wandered into a cave full of Moon Stones. Ciaran tried to keep Nidorino from touching one, but was in vain. Although he evolved, Isen has become twice as powerful and would have been the third most powerful Pokémon on Ciaran’s team had Synsk not defeated him a few times.
