Tabby

Name~ Tabitha Irene WalkerImage
Age~ 18
Gender~ Female
Race~ Human (Mortal)
Sexual Orientation~ She considers herself to be straight.

Appearance~
"She's too bright."
"She's too dull."
"She looks like she's sad all the time."
"She's way too tall."
"She always looks so strange."
"She's.....different."

Those are the words of various people who know about Tabitha Walker. To put it quite simply, Tabitha does not fit into any category. In fact, most people feel like she only takes up space. That being said, her physical appearance supports and disproves the descriptions that others use for her. She stands at the height of 5'9, and weighs approximately 135 lbs. She has a naturally long and lean frame. Despite being very skinny, she does have muscle all around her calves. Her skin is so pale, that it can be compared to snow. She still does turn a light tan in the summer, but because of where she lives, her skin has remained a crisp white color for a while. Her large and sullen eyes are a bright green with colored rings around her pupils that change between gold and blue. Her cheeks are well defined, and her lips are a shade of pale pink. Her hair is the hardest to describe, as it's constantly changing. One day, her hair will be straight, long, and blonde with purple highlights, and the next day it will be curly, short, and pigmented a deep red. From watching her, people have speculated that Tabitha's hair is naturally a light brown and straight with little waves on the tips.

Her choice of clothing is difficult to explain as well. One of the reasons why Tabitha is considered so odd is because of the different outfits she chooses. She'll wear a pink and white strapless dress with white tights and pearls one day, and then the next day she'll be wearing a heavy metal shirt with ripped jeans, chuck taylors, teased hair, and heavy black eyeliner. Because of the things she wears, nobody is certain of Tabitha's true personality. It's like she lives many different identities.

Image-
Personality~ The most mysterious girl in her town, Tabitha has a quiet demeanor and is very much by her lonesome. Tabitha is so mute, that when she speaks, people look around, usually startled. She does not talk to people unless she has to, and lets someone besides herself start a conversation. Even when she does speak, she gives short, usually one-word answers. Despite her closed and almost sullen first impression on people, it is known that she is a free-spirit, as shown by her constant changing of appearance. In the classroom, Tabitha is known to be one of the smartest kids in the school. It seems as though the only time people approach her is when the need the answer to a question. Other than that, nobody is brave enough to even acknowledge her. Although she is ignored, surprisingly, Tabitha has not had problems with bullying.

The 18-year-old girl lives with her aunt, Mrs. Sherida on the far side of town. Mrs. Sherida is the complete opposite of her niece, and is always keeping up with the gossip of the town. From her, it is implied that Tabitha has a tenacious yet vulnerable interior. Mrs. Sherida explains that Tabitha, or Tabby, is just like any other teenage girl. She describes her niece as being 'wise beyond her years, but clearly having so much yet to learn'. Apparently, she is watchful and good at picking up details. She is described as being creative, but yet occasionally sarcastic and having a black sense of humor. Also, Tabitha is said to have had no attraction to boys and has never made efforts to attract their attention. Mrs. Sherida explains that her little Tabby was curious and ambitious ever since she was a small child, learning to walk and run before she could even crawl. Of course, it is to be considered that Mrs. Sherida is a very loud and boisterous woman. Full of kind-heartedness, but sometimes too kind-hearted.
Hobbies & Interests~ Relatively little is known about Tabitha's hobbies. She is not on any sports teams or clubs. She does not try to make friends or go to parties or hang out at the local bookstore or ANYTHING. In fact, people barely see her in the small town where she lives. Of course the town is very large and full of open space, but even in school, it's like Tabitha is invisible. Some people say she's into music because of black headphones that she occasionally wears around her neck. Others say she's into fashion because of the different outfits she wars. A couple of girls think she's a nerd because of the comic books she reads and the games she plays on her laptop during lunch. You can never tell with Tabitha.

History~ Just like most things about Tabitha, little is known about her early history. All that is known was that she lived in 2 different places before settling in Brook Forge, Tennessee, with her aunt. Supposedly, her parents have been divorced for a while. Right now, Tabitha has lived in Brook Forge for 4 years, and is ending her senior year in high school.

So begins...

"Hold still....just a few more...."

On the other side of the Smoky Mountains, there was a small distant town known as Brook Forge. Despite its relatively small population, (only about 600 people) the town was crawling with space. The land where the town lay was half rugged mountains, and half long, never-ending valleys. The small town was so large, that it was divided into the North and South sides. Although acting like two split regions, there was one thing that remained the same about the sides of town, and that was the fog. The mist and fog that accumulated over the mountain range settled to Brook Forge at the end of their journey across the vast state of Tennessee. Brook Forge had never received much sunlight due to this fog. Everything, from the plants to the animals to the people, had a dark hue. The fog seemed to match the emotion of the people in the town.

Right on the edge of the south side of town, there lived an aunt and her niece. The aunt was a seamstress who made costumes and occasionally props to use in theater for a living. This woman could be described as 'light in the darkness'. Her husband had gone on to help in the war, and she lived in one of the gloomiest places of North America, but yet she had a constant stream of happiness. She was plump, but not fat. She had curly red hair, olive skin, and a heartwarming face that was partially covered by her glass spectacles.

The niece was completely different from her aunt. Although its hard to describe her physical appearance, one could say that she blended in with the area around her. She was dark and mysterious, even to those who knew her well. It was hard to tell whether or not she was sullen, if there was something more to her. Her detailed green eyes seemed to hold secrets that could not be unlocked by words alone. Her white skin was ghost-like and eerie. She was lean and slender, looking tall enough to reach the sky. She was a presence that was neither ignored nor revered, and her name was Tabitha Walker.

It was a special night in Brook Forge. It was the night of senior prom. There was only school in the town, located right on the border between the north and south sides. Simply known as Brook Forge High, the school was not only a place of learning, but it was a major part of social gathering in the town.

Inside the Sherida house on that crisp night in May, the seamstress could be found doing the small, delicate buttons found on the back of her niece's beige dress. Tabitha had not even picked out the dress. In fact, the dress was found in Mrs. Sherida's costume closet. The eighteen-year-old had refused to spend her time at a worthless school event, but much to her disapproval, her aunt was making her go.

"Alright, Tabby, i'm done. Turn around so I can see how it looks."

With her tan heels, the girl made a clacking sound as she pivoted around to face her aunt. At the time, the girl's hair was a flat, shoulder-length, light red color. Although she wore nothing else besides the dress and her shoes, she looked absolutely stunning.
However, her cheerless face begged to differ.

"I hate this, Catherine." she said, simply yet sourly. Her voice was soft, moderately deep, and full of sarcasm.
"Well, your lucky," her aunt replied, "because that was the only dress I could find that wouldn't make you look like a prima donna from the 1700's."
"Why are you making me do this?"
Her aunt was silent for a while, sighed, and then spoke again. She fixed the bottom of the dress as she talked.
"Tabby, i know i said to you a while ago that you don't have to go to prom if you don't want to, but there are....reasons why i want you to go. I think it would be great for you. It's your last year, and you're never going to get to do this ever again. Don't you want to look back and remember something here before you move on to the next chapter of your life?"
The red-haired girl rolled her eyes, and shrugged. "Sure," she said, moving over to the table to grab her car keys, "I'm leaving you now..."
"WAIT! I NEED A PICTURE OF YOU BEFORE YOU GO! Where'd you put the camera?"
"I hid it so that you wouldn't have to take a picture of me before i left the house."
"TABITHA!!" the aunt shouted before her nice could unlock the front door to the house. Her niece wasn't stopping, so Mrs. Sherida quickly started to say goodbye,
"Have a great time, sweetheart. OH! AND TABBY..."
Already on the other side of the doorway, the girl glanced back at her smiling aunt.
"Remember to....talk tonight. I just want you to...have fun."
Emotionless, Tabitha nodded, and then shut the door on her way out, crossing the driveway to her green pickup truck that once belonged to her uncle.

It took about a half hour to cross the southern side of Brook Forge. In her truck, she passed deep woodlands, flowing rivers, and vast fields of grain that seemed to glow in the dark. There weren't too many streetlights, in fact, the sky above illuminated the darkness. Since there were not city lights, all the stars of the night sky could be seen overhead.

It was around 8 pm that Tabitha reached the school. She started to think twice about going inside, since the lights looked too bright for her taste, but she sighed, and undid her seat belt. She looked around, and focused on what was right in front of her. A silver-chained necklace with a blue crystal moon dangled on the mirror. She snatched the necklace from its spot, and clasped it on her neck. The chain had been known as her 'lucky necklace' and had been kept firmly around her neck since she was young. It seemed to be the only thing about Tabby that never changed.

She walked quickly into the building, avoiding the silent sneers and glares that other kids were giving her. The dress attracted people's attention, but the person who wore it threw their focus away. After paying the fee to get in at the front door, Tabitha crossed through the halls and entered the blue and white colored cafeteria, where the prom was being held. Chairs and tables had been cleared to provide space for the swarm of teenagers that had attended. Although the young adults around her were dancing like crazy, having an enormously good time, Tabitha could only hear deafening music, and see blinding lights. As always, she sat as far away from life as possible. The wallflower perched herself on one of the blue chairs near the windows. With her hand on the back of her neck, and her elbow on the space below the window pane, she looked outside, watching the people enter. She would only have to sit in this position for two and a half more hours until the prom was over.

High School Prom.

They were the days that seemed to go by so quickly despite all the planning gone into creating it. Sometimes what occurs in that single day has a lasting effect to carry on that special day even more, but sometimes it has its negative effects aswell. However, it couldn't go amiss at how great the Prom looks however, with all the young men in suits and tuxedo's with shirts of many colours, some with bow tie and some with a regular. It wasn't only the young guys that dressed for the occassion but the birds did too with their dresses, some short, some long, some sparkly, some not, some flowery, some not. This was of course just the attire, but then inside you had your buffet all laid out, and your tables, and then the most attractive of places was of course the dance floor in the middle and the dances that can be seen on it, which again had a variety.

It seemed wherever a prom was, there was always variety and something different happens in each place. However, those in Brook Forge High would certainly have something, or rather someone different, compared to all the rest. This someone loved to have fun, loved the thrill and excitement, the adrenaline of being 'number one' which is exactly how he felt. This guy was Adam. At least, it was the name he called himself and made people aware of, with the name meaning 'first' which sums up how he is quite nicely. However, it is unknown whether Adam is his true name or what, only that he is alone, he looks young like those all attending the prom, he dressed suitably like all the other young men and like the other guys, he was single and out for a good time.

Course, Adam's way of having a good time differed to others, since he was not normal. He may look normal and may act a little eccentric, but he was not normal, he wasn't even human, he never aged, he was a constant meaning what you see, is really what you get. Why? because he is an immortal, a man that does not die, and unlike other mortals, he had in his possession may gifts, which instead of doing good, he exploits it on the weak, all for having a 'good time'. He's been doing such for a while now, a few years, going to some proms, some clubs and at such times, trying to resist the urge to become center of attention, and having everyone adore him. Course, what was there not to love....

As of now, he was dressed in the suit of a waiter. Why? Well he couldn't be a star of a show if he started as one now could he? He had to make a spectacle of himself, or at least, a spectacle of others first before he shone. Not only that, but he couldn't really argue against his attire when it complimented him so well since they were of tight fit so it fit around his bum quite nicely and still remained the slim, slender and attractive male that he was. If such an impression hasn't been given already, Adam has plenty to gloat about which goes straight to his head, but he don't stop him. Not at all.

As of now, he paced the Hall with a tray of champagne in his right hand while his left hand was behind his back, as he offered a drink to people. As he done so, he saw one girl not joining in the party, and it wouldn't be any fun if he didn't have a captive audience. Seeing as she was looking out the window, he smiled as he then lifted his left hand and clicked his fingers, as the window then opened as a gush of wind invited itself into the party, causing Adam to snigger as he turned away and immediately took cover round everyone else incase he was spotted, before he got another trick up his sleeve.

Such tricks really were under-handed but it was for amusement just the same as he approached a table where two girls were seated. He lowered himself to offer champagne before clicking his finger once again, before turning to the young lady next to him, "Excuse me miss, are you expecting?". The girl turned to him with a red face, "How dare you?!", but in response Adam looked taken aback and glared at her belly, "I'm asking generally, as you seem to have a little bulk on you". The other girl stood up and leaned forward and saw what Adam saw, before putting her arms on her hips, "I'll kill 'im", before the girl with the 'bulk' then stood up and followed who Adam guessed was her sister or her girlfriend. Who knows these days?

Boy, now what else could he do? Survey the goods of course, as in his head, he wondered what other games he could do.....

(OOC: Upto you if you approach him, though if you do, she'd probably be one of his targets for his next round of 'games' *heads up*)

Tabitha wasn't paying attention to the limos and people with their formal attire, but rather she looked past them at the background. The trees made unfamiliar patterns that nobody ever seemed to pay attention to. Their shapes always seemed to tell her something. Some days they told her to stay put, and other days they told her to wander free. She was at a very confusing point in her life. Of course, Aunt Catherine and her friends gave easy smiles and advice, saying that she was a smart girl. College would be easy for her. They had absolutely no idea what she was really talking about...

Suddenly, with a loud bang from the window, cold wind rushed into Tabitha's face, blowing her hair in a thousand different directions. Swiftly, she slammed it shut without opening her eyes. When she did open her eyes, she found no trace of the culprit who had opened it. She turned behind her, scanning the sea of teenagers, but nobody was close enough to her that they would be on a list of suspects. Either the person was a great runner, or there was a ghost in the school. Tabitha wasn't willing to accept the latter.

Since she was standing up, she thought she would at least give herself a reason for doing so. Her throat was a little dry, maybe she'd waste time getting a drink of water by the fountain. She put the tassels of her hair back behind her ears, and started to walk across the white tiled floor. She looked back at the sea of people, hoping to find a shortcut across them in order to go to the other side of the room. That's when she saw a peculiar sight.

Maybe it was just her, but Tabitha had never known that there were such things as prom waiters. A man was strutting around the room, holding a tray of champagne and offering it to people. Maybe the school had just hired someone from a restaurant to come around and serve the students, but there was something fishy about this guy. Brook Forge was a relatively small town, and it was one of those places where everyone seemed to know each other. Of course, not everyone knew each other, but from a person's face, you could tell what family they had come from. This man had a very foreign appearance. He had obviously come from somewhere else. France, maybe? But then again, Brook Forge was such a small, unknown place. People barely knew it was on a map. Why then, would this foreigner be in town? Was he knew, or was there another reason?

The change in music had brought Tabitha back to earth as she realized that she had been standing in the same spot, staring at the waiter while she processed her thoughts. She scratched the back of her head as she realized that this was a slow song, and scrambled back to her seat over by the window. Hopefully the man hadn't noticed her awkwardly staring at him. As she took her seat, she watched as the boys and girls come together and dance. Tabitha found the girls' faces as they guys asked them to dance quite hilarious. It was funny to think that maybe for a second, they could have the imaginary whirlwind romance of a lifetime. Obviously this wasn't true. Love never lasted. That was Tabitha's philosophy. Love was merely just a word. It never really meant anything. There was too much hate, pride, greed, and selfishness in the world for true love to prevail. Not just love as in romance, but love as in peace, and general love for others. There was always something in humans that made them want something that they can't have. And of course, those people full of power would cause something that could never be stopped. She sighed as she turned to face out the window again.

Adam had been up to his usual antics time and time again over the past couple of years. These mortals had a saying that if you could not do the time, then do not do the crime. It was quite a nice saying, except that the message it conveyed was that crime did not pay, yet the way he worked, his antics always got him a benefit so they surely did pay and were ever so fun. That's what was so fun about these mortals, the way they reacted to spontaneous actions. Some of them took it in their stride, whereas some of them began screaming the odds off. It was why the females were usually the targets as they were the type to scream more often and react alot better. Sure there were some guys who did the same, but there were those who did not react at all while casually covering themselves up again, or those that shown off their goods since they had nothing better to do, to be proud of their body.

Sure those that reacted poorly were indeed amusing, but those that accepted what had occurred and acted all cool about it, were certainly the type to be admired. Afterall, it is how people adapt to change and adapt to new things, which helps him decide whether to introduce himself or not. He may be the hottest guy in the entire universe across all time and space, but as much as he liked pulling off his tricks, he also likes to be wanted, and if he wasn't wanted then with a click of his fingers, he can be somewhere that does want him. Such circumstances were not the case very often, especially due to his powers to instantly make the crowds love him. However, there was crowd control to think about and as much as he loved to be adored, too much was, well, too much.

Adam had barely started much at this party, except the little drama he caused with making a girl pregnant to cause an argument. What can he say? Drama is his favourite subject. However, in his walks, the girl who sat alone at the window seemed unaffected by his stunt. There was no scream at all. All there was, was the acceptance that the window was open and rather than screaming about it, she acted accordingly and closed it. Not only that, but he also caught her staring at him for quite some time before returning to her seat beside the window as if nothing happened. Interesting....Adam thought.

Nevertheless, he had not yet fulfilled anything as much to the extent he caused in Miami. Brook Ford was a small little place, but there were some pretty girls and pretty lads. Afterall, in Adam's line of work, there was no point in being picky when he can do what he likes. He could virtually have anyone in the room he stood or all of them, before his click of his fingers had his appearance and involvement wiped away from memory. There was so much he could do, even become President of the Entire World, but that would all be boring since Adam loved to travel and that sense of adventure. It was something that he could not take away.

Deciding for Little Miss Loner to be put on a backburner for now, Adam went about his rounds and causing mischief as he made things happen. He made the chaperones chaperoning the students make an exit and made the teachers skidaddle as playing with them would be boring. The girls he had 'picked' on before with the whole pregnancy thing was all planned. As he was Immortal, he could make anything happen, even making himself invisible as he sifted his way through school and got some gossip to use on such a night, so he had already caused one argument and went about finishing what arguments would come to pass anyway, before he begun to get tired of it. All this work to make the inevitable happen quicker seemed to benefit them more than him.

Walking over to one of the buffet tables, he saw a blonde girl in a sparkly dress, point at some food with a thin slim hot guy, whose hands were around her waist. Ever so sweet one would say, but things like that never last forever, as Adam put down his tray and clicked his fingers so that he no longer wore his waiter suit but was in a tuxedo. Ready to party himself rather than serving others, he took the girls' hand, "My, how pretty you are", before lowering his head and kissing her hand like a gentleman. Course the guy had a problem with it, not yet entranced by Adam but that would change. "Hey you get off my girl!", he snapped, clearly trying to contain his anger and give him a chance while his arms still held the girls' waist. "You feel left out?", as he used his other hand to gently touch his and sail up his arm to entrance him also.

What could Adam say? He had a way of charming people, as the hands that were around the girls' waist was now round his. Such power he had, to change the heart in an instant. Sure Adam preferred the ladies, but it was also nice to have others take the lead instead of him all the while, and it would be rude to reject him when he had done no wrong. However, Adam did have his limits to keep it up for so long before moving onto the next one as he pulled away from him and placed his finger on the guy's lips, "That's enough for now, no-", but he kissed again. "No", he then said sternly, despite the fact he had no qualms, he had to leave his mark before he went on to the next place, which was always a handful of both guys and girls so if he revisited the same time period, he'd only need to appear and not having to do any work at all. Called efficiency.

Course it was trouble when he went so far, so he made sure in each place not to get too ahead of himself and make everyone love him, as much as he felt like doing. Sending the guy home since the first ones usually are lovestruck, before then turning to the girl who was waiting for her turn, "Now where were we?", before it was his turn to take control, as he placed his arms round her waist and took her to the dance floor in the middle of everyone else, and then clicking his fingers to make the other dancers form a circle round them, to act like his personal security, but didn't stop them dancing each other.

If that girl was still watching him, she'd have trouble now, so she'd just have to wait her turn. Afterall, it's her fault she wasn't here dancing and not being able to feel his touch, but he'd get to her. However, first.... "Welcome all to the 2012 Brook Forge High Prom. You are all looking lovely tonight, but now it is time to vote for the Homecoming King and Queen, which are....", which one of the ex-seniors read out, before retrieving the envelope with the results. Adam clicked his fingers, until the next he heard, "Adam Alphana as our Homecoming King, and Tabitha Walker as our Homecoming Queen! Congratulations! Now for them to be crowned and dance together".

Well, Adam was driven when it came to people who preferred to be alone. He hated being alone, which was why he did his antics and caused as much trouble as he did, and got as much love as he could since there was no one else to get it from otherwise. He had a little bit of 'me' time to benefit him from all the dancing, which involved switching partners at the change of music, but now it was time to make things really hectic for a grand finale before his disappearance. All the students then pulled back as Adam waited for Tabitha to come along. Out of all the names, hers stuck out more, which was why he chose her, though maybe it would be more funny if he clicked his fingers and made this a marriage ceremony in Spain. Wasn't too much effort, but Tabitha wasn't exactly as open as other girls and he liked open since they were accessible like those on the dancefloor for him to operate.

If Little Miss Loner decided not to come, he's give a few seconds before clicking his fingers to make her want to come and claim her crown. "I saw your eyes watching me. You find me irresistable don't you?", he said with a smile as he held his hand out to prepare for the dance. Complete mind control was possible but it would be more fun to make his wants temporarily, meaning he'd ask something and if she says or does something he's not so keen on, he'd just click or wink and hear or recieve what he wants. So yeah, he is pretty spoilt and don't like not getting what he wants, but it would be fun to see her say something awful about him, before saying how wonderful he is, before returning control of herself back to her and seeing her reaction.

(OOC: Pretty mischievous huh? If he was approached beforehand, she would likely of been the candidate of full control, so this way, it is flexible since he's interested in seeing Tabby's reactions, so you can have fun with this. Afterall, want a nice shaky start when he does become powerless rather than an instant-ally sort of thing, so with this, Tabby can say something that he doesn't want, but then suddenly words enter her mouth that is contradictory that is more to his liking. We can do such for a few posts, before Adam begins to make his exit for the grand finale, before entering the meat of the roleplay when he does become powerless and no longer controls what people say or do).

Despite the blows of loud music, Tabby was starting to get tired, and her eyelids started to drop lower and lower as time passed. Perhaps she'd get a quick nap in before the prom ended. People would probably wonder why she was sleeping there, but then again, they probably wouldn't care anyway. The worst thing that could happen was that people could think she was drunk.

Before her mind could cease to race and she would lose herself to the fantasies of the dream world, the booming voice of an ex-senior caused her to jolt up.
"Welcome all to the 2012 Brook Forge High Prom. You are all looking lovely tonight, but now it is time to vote for the Homecoming King and Queen, which are....",
It was just the Homecoming King and Queen. Nothing to be concerned about....
"Adam Alphana as our Homecoming King, and Tabitha Walker as our Homecoming Queen! Congratulations! Now for them to be crowned and dance together".

...

It was a mistake. The man at the microphone had read the name wrong, Tabby was certain. There was no way that she had won Homecoming Queen. It was impossible. It was a work of magic. She pinched herself. She wasn't asleep. Out of all people, why did the ex-senior read her name? Why was her name on that card when she knew that nobody could have possibly voted for her? Was it a prank? Did someone plan this just to harass her? Did she do something wrong? Why was she being tortured like this? Could this day get any worse? Why couldn't any of the questions in her head be answered????

As she looked through the sea of faces all staring at her, she could feel her face turn as red as a tomato. With all the eyes pointed in her direction, all the people clapping for her and smiling at her, it all felt so irregular. So momentous, so morbid. She felt lightheadedness kicking in. Would she faint in a matter of seconds? Now she could hear nothing. The clapping and cheering became muffled sounds, as if she was deaf. Then suddenly, there was a clearing. She had taken too long to get up, people were making a clearing for her. She would have to get up off of her chair and walk through it.

There was one question that stuck out most in her mind; who on earth was Adam....
Oh no.

She could see through the parting of the sea of students that 'waiter man' from before was waiting for her in the center of the room. Upon seeing that he had on a tuxedo instead of the outfit he was wearing the last time she saw him, Tabitha knew that none of this was real. It couldn't be. Regardless, she didn't want the football team up in the front to have to escort her through the parting, so she stood up, trying not to fall, and walked her way through. She took small steps, but eventually, she got to the center. She still couldn't hear a thing.
Waiter man's eyes were staring directly into hers. She tried to look away, but it was like his brown eyes were chaining directly unto her soul. It was like he could see everything that she was thinking. It was as creepy yet utterly fascinating as hell. Finally, the sound returned, and Tabitha stared at him awkwardly as she realized that he had said something that she had missed.

"...What?" she asked him ineptly. Just then, she broke her gaze with him as she heard a girl to her right sneering. Tabitha realized that she'd have to be careful not to make an ass out of herself. That would be a challenge.

She turned her head to face him again, and realized that he was holding his hand out.
"Oh...uh..."
She gently placed her hand in his, and once it was in his palm, she realized that she was trembling.
Stop it. Stop that. she thought to herself. With control and a short breath, she was able to stop. However, that still didn't kill her embarassment. She knew for a fact that her face was still red.

It wasn't hard to believe that Tabitha had never slow danced in her life. She knew she was going to step on this guy's feet. What was she supposed to do? Was she supposed to talk? Was she supposed to twirl or whatever? Maybe she would just stare out into the crowd or down at the ground or something. She desperately wanted to scream at the top of her lungs, but the air around her was choking her. Then again, none of this was real. This man she had to dance with, whoever he was, wasn't real. Maybe if she kept that in her head, she'd be able to get through this...

He would be lying to himself if he denied the fact that this Tabitha had peaked his interest. Adam had only been here for a short while and already he was making history like every other place he goes, as well as making the dim star the brightest. Afterall, this was supposed to be a party was it now, so despite Adam having his own selfish desires and own intentions, in the end, he just wanted to have fun and make sure everyone else did as well, unless he hd an overwhelming desire to cause some trouble before his departure. Such a desire came pretty often since causing trouble was more entertaining, but for now, he decided to take a short recess in his meddling and find out more about the one who didn't react to his antics as much as he'd like.

Even after being called up, she didn't come immediately, but in the end she had come and he didn't have to resort to clicking his fingers once again to get something he wanted done. Adam was used to his desires being fulfilled, because if they were not when he asked politely, he'd make them fulfilled by a simple click. He wasn't entirely sure how many immortals existed but all that mattered to him was himself since he always has fended for himself and not having anyone watch over him, so that's the way he has already viewed his life and acted accordingly as a result. Not that he was complaining as having the freedom he had was really exciting.

His eyes met with hers as she stood beside him and he got the chance to see her more. Out of the other girls he had seen, she was pretty tall, but she was pretty, though unlike the other girls, the dress was a little retro compared, but it did convey the idea that she was sensible which was a total contrast to him. This meeting would be pretty interesting then, and not only that, she wasn't exactly excited at being Prom Queen and nor did she act like she appreciated being voted for, even if it was all down to him. Adam always got what he wanted in the end afterall, but in order for this all to work, he also needed to be known so he implanted some memories of him being a cool and wild kid that joined in the middle of the year who acted smart but wasn't really but was one of the hottest guys in the school. It had worked, especially removing his competiton that he had entranced earlier so his win was inevitable and had come to pass.

"Oh...uh...", he heard her say as she then took his hand and Adam could feel that she was tense but remained silent to allow her to force herself to behave right which she did end up doing, despite her face going red. "You've never done this before have you? but your going to have to learn quick when all of these lot want to dance with me....let me give you a hand", he whispered with a smile to her, as both of his hands took hers and led them behind his neck, "You hold there", he instructed, before he placed his right hand around her waist and his left hand on her shoulder, "and I hold here, and all you need to do now is follow after me and keep looking at me, which shouldn't be hard. Don't worry about your feet", ending with a wink, knowing that was what she was thinking about.

With them in position and the crowns on their heads, Adam begun the dance and since it was a slow dance, it was easier to follow, as long as the music didn't change which was tempting to do. "Oh, and I assure you this is all very real", he answered, again in a whisper as he answered her questions that she had in her head, another ability that he had. Following such, his left hand lifted up from her shoulder and stroked her cheek before returning to her shoulder, "Did that not feel real to you? Every girl dreams of being Prom Queen yet you're it, yet you don't seem happy about it, or rather, you are in disbelief that all this is happening to you so you're thinking this is all a dream, in which case, surely I fit the description of your Prince Charming", ending with a wink, "Cinderella always dreamed of such, yet she only had till midnight before returning to what she saw as real, yet she enjoyed her time while it lasted, will you not do the same?".

It was one thing to hold such power, but it was another to hold knowledge and know what words to say and what powers to use to be appropriate for the moment, like earlier with his antic with the pregnancy, knowing that there was some trouble going off and that his antic would have an effect. He believed that Cinderella applied to Tabitha pretty well at this moment with her denying what was happening, but no doubt his reading of her mind would make her curious but he couldn't help it. As for her feet, if they were about to tread on his, he'd foresee it and make his foot move to avoid such. In other words, he was the ideal dancing partner. Infact, the ideal everything.

(OOC: Corrected Homecoming Queen to Prom Queen since this is to celebrate the end of the senior year and got the two mixed up).

"You've never done this before have you? but your going to have to learn quick when all of these lot want to dance with me....let me give you a hand"

From his response, Tabitha knew she was making her thoughts obvious. Quite frankly she had projected her emotions well, and he had caught on. The mystery man had caught on, whoever he was....wait, she knew. She already knew who he was. Somehow, she had seen his face before. In fact, she had seen his face a couple of times. Yes, he had come in the middle of senior year. Her recollections of the events were very hazy, almost as if they were from a dream, but she could see him on his first day of school at Brook Forge High. He was classified as one of those reckless, wild, rebellious kids. He had quite the stereotypical essence of a young adult. He pretended to be intelligent, although most saw him as something to look at, and he knew it. He was naturally popular, everyone saw him as a crowd pleaser, and his name was Adam. Adam Alphana.

When she realized who he was, something in her brain snapped, as if she had gained some sort of valuable information....but how could she? She had known him months before the prom, months before she was trapped into dancing with him. Maybe Tabitha wasn't part of his crowd, and maybe she didn't care for him too much either, but the fear inside of her slightly pacified. The redness in her face calmed down to its genuine shade of white. His hands grabbing hers brought her back to earth, and she escaped out of her thoughts as he instructed her on how to dance.

"You hold there," he said, placing her chilled fingers behind his neck. He then put his right hand around her waist, and his left on her shoulder. Unlike her hands, which felt dead and useless, his were warm and full of life. "and I hold here, and all you need to do now is follow after me and keep looking at me, which shouldn't be hard. Don't worry about your feet"
He ended with a wink, and Tabitha knew that he must have been reading her facial expressions again. Just him talking about her feet made her feel like she was more prone to step on his. His coincidental words did not give her any notable facial expressions. However, upon looking with detail, one could see Tabitha's jaw slightly tremble.

Why was she so terrified of this? This wasn't real anyway. Out of nowhere, crowns had been placed on their heads, and time started to move fast. It was as though one second became a hundred. As they began to dance, and Tabitha didn't step on his feet, he said, "Oh, and I assure you this is all very real."
Wait....what?
Him stating that it was real only made it less real. This time, his words were definitely not a coincidence. Maybe she was like a book when it came to emotions, but there was no way he could have stated what Tabitha was thinking about so confidently without the use of mind-reading. Was he psychic? It could make sense...how he was so popular and everything. Just then, a thought crossed her mind. If he was psychic, then the window....could he have been the source?

All the negativity in her mind had drained away, and now she found herself curiously staring at Adam, who still remained a mystery. Suddenly, his hand rose up from her shoulder and stroked her cheek, something she wasn't expecting in the slightest. She didn't feel fear, but pressure in her body as his fingers touched her face. Her eyes followed his hand, and once he had placed his hand back on her shoulder, she rose an eyebrow towards him. Not out of annoyance, but out of confusion.
"Did that not feel real to you? Every girl dreams of being Prom Queen yet you're it, yet you don't seem happy about it, or rather, you are in disbelief that all this is happening to you so you're thinking this is all a dream, in which case, surely I fit the description of your Prince Charming", he gave her another wink, "Cinderella always dreamed of such, yet she only had till midnight before returning to what she saw as real, yet she enjoyed her time while it lasted, will you not do the same?"

Tabitha could almost bring herself to laugh. He was being poetic and arrogant, but most importantly, he thought he knew her. He was reading her mind still, yes, but his words were implying that he understood her emotions clearly. For all he knew, she could be nervous for other reasons. Emotions could never tell the full truth.
"Maybe...depends on how much you read my mind" she answered back. To her surprise, the words did not come out sarcastically, but rather she said them as though she was stating a fact. In an instant, the nerves she had suppressed for a minute started to break back in. She had messed up, and said the wrong thing in front of the wrong person. In fact, she knew it would only be a matter of time before she would. She wanted to look down, but as he had commanded her to do, her eyes kept their focus on him.

Having everything at his disposal with a single click of his fingers or a single thought in his head, there was nothing that could stop Adam from getting his way. It had always been such when he first discovered his powers. He was hardly doing any wrong in his eyes. There were quite a few things that appealed him to humanity which was their openness, their thirst for knowledge, their vulnerability and weakness to counteract his wiles, but most important, how they saw life and how they explained such. Humans saw that there was a reason that things happen, so in such a sense, there was a reason that he was given these powers and that he was part of something, and until he knew what that something was, there was no harm in playing around was there. Afterall, he had many centuries ahead of him to get all serious.

People change over time and in a matter of minutes, he had changed the lives of all the seniors that had come to their school prom, but of course, due to how dashing he was, he had to send those who were attracted to him home so they didn't spoil this dance. One thing that Adam detested was ignorance and rejection, which is the crime that Tabitha had committed in not participating like everyone else and ignoring his little trick earlier. Nevertheless, Adam always pointed things in the right direction, and now it seemed that she felt more at ease then she was before and wasn't so shocked as she was, though he could sense she still had doubts in her mind, despite him filling some gaps in.

Not only was she not feeling easy, but she was also cold, which no doubt caused by his stunt earlier, as well as sitting around and doing nothing, which did nothing in getting her body heat warmed up. Unlike her, Adam was full of energy and had been moving since he arrived, as his heat radiated around him. Afterall, he was hot, and he knew it, all the guys and gals round them knew it, and surely she knew it too, especially being so close to him. Maybe she needed to be pulled closer was the thoughts on her mind, as his eyes watched her. Even with his words trying to make her feel better, it seemed to not have the effect he hoped, which was probably due to fact he was not controlling her. It would be boring if he did though. Making him do all the work, when he was giving her the opportunity she thought she wouldn't have. How selfish.

"Maybe...depends on how much you read my mind", she then replied, as his smile widened, with a single thought triggering a soundproof barrier around them so it was all private and he could say what he liked. "That's obsurd. It's a matter of deduction, as Sherlock Holmes would say. Reading minds is impossible" for mere miniscule mortals at least, "Your body language and your hesitation to come to to the dance floor suggests you weren't expecting it so you'd think it wasn't real.....then you were slow to take my hand and were looking down at the floor which suggested you hadn't danced before. As I said, a matter of deduction, so you should enjoy the moment while you can. Whether you believe it or not, the night is young, your the Prom Queen and the night is yours. Now, how about it?".

Even if Adam could read minds, there were other ways that he could pick out what people thought, body language being one of them so he was telling her a half-truth, but at least it was believable and rest her mind so he could enjoy himself and so could she. It was boring if she kept doubting everything, and if he was bored, then he'd make things more interesting to appease himself. In the end, despite saying the night was hers, his enjoyment was more important. "You look stunning and you dance pretty good too for a first-timer. Now it's time to relax and enjoy yourself, no?", he then added with a warm smile, "Afterall, you are a pretty girl. Hasn't anyone told you that?" putting in a form of a question since it would not sound as suspicious, seeing that she had no date with her.

Tabby was expecting insults to come out of his mouth, and she even winced before he gave her a warm, wide smile. Before he could say anything, the sounds around Tabitha started to mute. Things didn't quiet down, they literally muted. She turned her head from side to side, seeing kids talking but no sounds coming out of their mouths. She could still hear the music, but it was much softer. Maybe she was going crazy, or maybe Adam was some sort of demon coming to haunt her for her wrongdoings in a past life, but honestly, Tabitha was actually enjoying the quietness.

"That's obsurd. It's a matter of deduction, as Sherlock Holmes would say. Reading minds is impossible. Your body language and your hesitation to come to to the dance floor suggests you weren't expecting it so you'd think it wasn't real.....then you were slow to take my hand and were looking down at the floor which suggested you hadn't danced before. As I said, a matter of deduction, so you should enjoy the moment while you can. Whether you believe it or not, the night is young, your the Prom Queen and the night is yours. Now, how about it?".

She sighed. He was so sugarcoated. At least he wasn't a complete idiot. His monologues actually made sense, they weren't just babbling to try to impress her. Then again, why was he trying to impress her, if he even was trying to impress her? Why would someone like him care about what she thought about him anyway? Wasn't she invisible? Wasn't she blind to everyone who was around her? If she were to walk on a high wire, would anyone notice her? It was an endless circle of thoughts that always came back to one question; how on earth did she become prom queen?

She was thinking too much again. Tabitha took a deep breath through her nose, and filled her lungs with air. With the silence around her, the air was actually breathable.

"You look stunning and you dance pretty good too for a first-timer. Now it's time to relax and enjoy yourself, no?", he said after a moment of silence. "...Thanks", she replied, "....sure..."
Her words might have come out a bit too serious and dull, but she was starting to feel less exhilirated. She was getting used to slow dancing a lot more than she thought she would. Everything was starting to feel more peaceful. With the deafening sounds out of the way, her mind was at ease, at least for now.

He gave her another smile, "Afterall, you are a pretty girl. Hasn't anyone told you that?"
This struck a nerve in Tabitha. She stared back at him with wide eyes, and clenched the hands behind his neck into loose fists.
The answer was yes, people had told her that before. Not many, though. Only one person meant those words sincerely, and that was her Aunt Catherine. Her aunt had told her that she was beautiful on several occasions. Her aunt was telling her that she was beautiful almost every day. That meant nothing to Tabitha, however. Aunt Catherine never believed in the words 'ugly', or 'evil'. Everything in her eyes was beautiful. Everything in her eyes was dramatic. It explained why she was a costume designer for theatre and film. All things in life were extravagant to Aunt Catherine. Tabitha couldn't bear to think like that.

There was another person in her life that had told her she was pretty. That person never meant it. That person meant it as scorn, not as a compliment. That person had told Tabitha she was pretty for bad, hateful, and disturbing reasons. That person was manipulative, wicked, and unforgiving. That person had been with her for most of her life. That person deserved to burn in hell.

So to Tabitha, what Adam had said came to her as a bit of a shock. Of course, it didn't mean much, as it was just a nice gesture. She knew that, but the words threw her so off balance. She looked down at the ground, down at her feet, and tried to think of words so that she could answer his question. The problem was, she couldn't. She didn't want to use words that would make him start asking more questions, OR WORSE, make him feel sorry for her. So, she decided to say what any other girl would say,
"I guess...."
With his so-called 'deductive skills', he would be able to read her expressions, and hopefully put that question aside. Besides, he looked like the arrogant type. He didn't appear like he was willing to be sensitive at the moment.

In his life, Adam was pretty young for an immortal, hence why his lifestyle was wild and why he was so adamant that he was the one and only. Not only did his age have to do with any of it, but who wants to have other people over their shoulder and telling him what he should or should not do. At the power of his fingertips, he could have who or what he wanted with a click of his fingers, or if he willed it, change the course of history for it wasn't only the universe that was the limit, but time also, though he tended to avoid such. Afterall, such cases were only for emergencies if things really went wrong so he could literally turn back the clock. How many people he had heard in his wanderings of how they done something terrible and wish they could turn the clock, when he could do exactly that in a second.

His actions could be used as reckless, but for any of these mortals, if any had the powers he had for a day, Adam could see that like him, they'd want to use their advantage and benefit something for them as he did, to create something life-changing, like a shy lad who was afraid of asking a girl out and then with his powers, his shyness goes and makes him a happy guy rather than a sad guy. Such powers were certainly rewarding, which is why it was hard for Adam to pull away from any moments that he could see potential fun in. Out of the entire universe, he could of attended any party and perhaps they would of been more lively and not having a girl sitting at a window and ignoring everyone, but so far, it all seemed to going well and he had his way.

Tabitha, or rather Tabby, certainly had her doubts which he aimed to remove by his powers as well as his gift of the gab, and now as he danced, he could hear her wonder why he was 'trying to impress her?' and how none cared for her or 'notice her', which was pretty hard not to do, what with her clearly being the odd one out, out of everyone else, despite wearing a pretty dress like everyone else. "Thanks", she then replied as he complimented her dancing, before responding, "sure" after he suggesting her to relax. She didn't seem much of a talker, but least she had come to the center and not left him hanging as that would of been terrible. Well, he would of changed that, but still.

Not even calling her pretty had made her smile, instead she glared at him, and felt the hands behind his neck change shape, before she looked down to the ground, "I guess....". There was only so much his 'deductive skills' could comprehend, so bringing up what he could see which was not so clear or not even visible to the naked eye, would not do him any favours so he kept such to himself. What was obvious was what was missing still, making all his charms and all this dancing worthless. Maybe he should just scrap the girl and find someone who would actually dance and have fun, rather than Miss Misery before him.

"For a girl whose been voted Prom Queen, dancing with me at the envy of others, and being complimented on your looks, you don't smile much do you? not even a little bit.....", he said with a smile, as he looked her over so the words he wished to say were delayed to be able to coincide with his deduction theory, "You are either still in shock for being Prom Queen, you didn't want to come and want to leave the dance floor, it's something I said, or I'm not good enough for you", obviously not happy about the last one, "I'll tell you what, you chose a guy you want to be with, and I'll switch places with him, since we're supposed to be setting this dance off before everyone else joins in...".

Like the idea of not being 'good enough', his suggestion was not ideal either, but if she did wish to exchange him for another, it would suggest to him who she did like. Besides, his fun was not over yet, but what was always nice to see between a Prom King and Queen, due to the fact it was usually couples that danced together and therefore became Prom King and Queen together, was obviously a kiss. However, he'd be lucky if he gets that, at least without the use of his magic with how down she seemed to be, but taking control of her fully would be no fun at all, so he hoped she'd feel better, as he then added, "If your sticking with me, then it would be my pleasure, but do stop looking down or you may trip your feet up. You can either look sideways and lean against my upper chest or look at me like before, though be warned, once everyone else joins in, the tempo will get faster...".

"For a girl whose been voted Prom Queen, dancing with me at the envy of others, and being complimented on your looks, you don't smile much do you? not even a little bit....."

"Right you are." Tabitha seemed to say out of the contemptuous glare of her eyes. The peaceful mindset she had been captured in merely five seconds ago had withered away, and now things were starting to drag on. "You are either still in shock for being Prom Queen, you didn't want to come and want to leave the dance floor, it's something I said, or I'm not good enough for you," said Adam, a strange sort of smile plastered on his lips, "I'll tell you what, you chose a guy you want to be with, and I'll switch places with him, since we're supposed to be setting this dance off before everyone else joins in..."

What on earth was he talking about now? Switch places? It was worse enough that she had to dance with him. Dancing with anyone else was like heresy in her book. Before she could utter a word, he added, "If your sticking with me, then it would be my pleasure, but do stop looking down or you may trip your feet up. You can either look sideways and lean against my upper chest or look at me like before, though be warned, once everyone else joins in, the tempo will get faster...".

Tabitha gave a small acknowledging nod, and did as he said. As much as she desired to, she didn't look down. Instead, her eyes gazed upward. The strange sound-proof field was still around them as the music continued to play. As she accumulated boredom from her feet moving in the same side-stepped pattern, her focus switched from the dance to the magic that was around her. Apparently, Adam was psychic, he was able to open the window with his mind, and he had the ability to read her mind. At least, that's what her crazy brain was telling her. Despite her skepticism and willingness to believe that it was all a dream, he had disproved her opinion using empathy. With all the data aligned in her head, Tabitha was still reluctant to have faith in the fact that he had some sort of super-powers. Just one more demonstration of his ghastly abilities, and maybe she would have confidence in the fact that he was something other than normal. Although, he had clearly shown her that already with his constant gab...

As if someone had suddenly taken a match and lit it inside her mind, Tabitha had a fortuitous thought burn inside her head. The tiny spark that was the thought, grew bigger, and her ingenious thought turned into instant action.
"I guess I'll stay with you," she spoke. She waited a couple seconds and then muttered, "I wish this was a different song, though. This one's dragging on..."

With his intuitive sense in all things conversation, Tabitha was sure he had managed to hear her. Of course, it wasn't that hard to hear a whisper in a sound-proof dome. If her plan was working, she knew that her dancing partner would be willing to comply with her subtle demands. With his pretentious display in supernatural abilities, he would be able to change the song without causing tension in the audience. The students would act as if the new song had been playing the whole time. This simple yet subtle test would finally settle her inquisitiveness towards him. The test would also reveal his intelligence. He was very charismatic. Every sentence he spoke, Tabitha could tell he was speaking his mind. If he was cunning and receptive to her trick, he would understand that she was delicately manipulating him.

Tabitha sure was hard to please. Adam had made her Prom Queen, helped settle her nerves by dimming the noise around her, helping her to dance, throwing compliments, but still paid no heed to him. What did the girl want that would make her happy. Clearly she was turning into a lost cause, while the other girls would jump at the chance to snatch him from her. It seemed no guys were jumping out for her, and it also seemed that there was no guy who seemed to jump to her mind either. Entering her thoughts, she felt this whole ordeal was dragging, that dancing with anyone else was heresy so she had to put up with him. Adam was a overflowing bottle of energy yet round her, it all seemed pointless.

[i]"I guess I'll stay with you", she said, before shortly muttering her wish for the song to change and how this was dragging on. Adam on the other hand felt differently, it was her that was dragging it on, not the music. However, there was something about her request as if deliberate from what she was thinking of shortly after, so now the girl decided to play him, which went against all propriety. No one messes with Adam and gets away with it, least of all with their dignity intact. However, she should also know that the change of song would open the dance floor to others, something that he could agree with her on. "Good choice", he replied with a smile for how she decided to stick with him, no doubt that she had no-one else, but he also could not ignore her request.

In order to set such chain of events off, the hand that held her shoulder, moved to her cheek as he then leaned forwards and kissed her on the lips, and as he did so, the sound barrier was removed so that the 'outside' influence was there also, so if she tried to argue back, then it would not be good for her. Hence why he did it, but also as a last attempt to try and cheer her up, before hearing the DJ speak up as the song changed, and the rest of the student body approached them as Adam winked to say goodbye as another girl took him away who did actually want to dance. Sure, couldn't leave poor Tabby out, she did't want attention, well, she would have it, as he clicked his finger, causing a guy to approach Tabby, "Might I have this dance?", the one asked, holding her hand gently to sort of 'claim' her so other guys backed off.

Adam had now set off a chain of events so if she turned one guy down, another would take their place. Tabitha didn't want attention and rejected him, then attention she would get, while he danced with his new dancing partner that was not forcing herself to do it, and not being bored as she was. No one could play with Adam and expect to get away with it.....
