Grim reapers are feared across the world, known as icons for death and misery. But they aren't the dark soul stealing beings legends tell of. They are not the skeletal monsters the legends speak of. They play a more serious role in the world.

When someone dies, their soul is left to wander the Earth. It during this time that a soul is at risk. Creatures known as serpentiles, scour the Earth, hidden from the naked eye. These creatures feed on lost souls and create more serpentiles. They resemble human beings, but share features of other dangerous animals. If they grew to large in number, they would be able to devour all life on Earth.

Reapers are the protectors of fallen souls. They are the police force of the afterlife, patrolling the world for troublesome and dangerous spirits. They are also the front line fighters against the sepentiles. These fighters of the supernatural range from 15- the 500's in age and are taught everything from simple school classes to becoming a powerful reaper.

At the age of 15, certain individuals develop "The Sight" which allows them to see lost souls and serpentiles. This is also dangerous for after obtaining "The Sight" serpentiles are able to kill these individuals. To save as many as possible, a reaper is deployed in each town or city in the world. They are then to escort the individuals to a school in Japan.

At the Styx Reaper school, half the students learn basic classes in the day. These classes include math, literature, history, and science. The other half learn these skills at night and vice versa. The students learn the trade of the reapers every day during the other classes normal teachings.. This ranges from combat training, scythe handling, element control, exorcism, as well as flight. The schools students are all potential reapers, being separated into a day class and night class.

There are 3 dorms in the Styx reaper school. The male dorm, the female dorm, and the Inter-dorm. Students who arrive are given a dorm to stay in based on availability and personality. ( I think you get what I mean) Each room in the dorm holds two reapers. (I will add more rooms if needed)

These students go through 3 years of training before becoming full time reapers. During their training, the students will sometimes accompany a senior reaper to get hands on training.
