Age: Twenty-eight
Race: Halfling
Occupation:
Appearance:
Like all halflings, the woman lives in a world ruled by giants, her body barely the height and weight of an average human child but that doesn't keep her from trying to be noticed. Elanor is a woman who has a natural charm about her, part of that may have got to do with her natural beauty that she knows how to use to her advantage. Her body is a shape with curves in all the right places, and with a cutesy smile that could enlighten anyone's day, it wouldn't be hard to pick the halfling out of a crowd. Her head is covered with a smooth, waist-length oak-brown hair that sways freely across her oval-shaped face, her emerald-green eyes peeking through, that glow with a certain... Glee.
Personality:
A natural liar and trickster of people. Elanor would be that person who approaches you with an innocent smile, and nicks every coin out of your pocket during a casual chit-chat. To say the woman is not trustworthy is quite the understatement, and would only justify a tip of the iceberg that is the halflings life of tricks and cheats. Her only concern is the well-being of herself and that of her dragon companion, all others are merely keys for their survival, which is actually hidden under a perfected act of the poor entertainer that is begging for scraps of food and free lodging.
Elanor wouldn't dare help others, unless she has a plan to get something out of it herself, which usually ends up with nicking anything her 'temporary' companions have and legging it as soon as things are starting to look grim.
.....
In truth, the halfling is trying to find her place in life, but fully believes she doesn't need a group of friends to find that place. Behind her trickery lies the heart of a cheerful woman, albeit a bit too friendly at times, that loves performing to no end. It just takes the right people to show her a path that doesn't involve ruining other peoples lives...
Equipment:
A pan flute that dangles around her neck, a lute that is carried on Elanor's back with a leather buckle. The halfling also carries a set of juggling swords, all three of them sheathed in the same scabbard that rests on the back of her hip.
Strengths/Abilities:
Elanor can keep quite the crowd entertained, whether it'd be with song, tales, or some arbitrary trick. The halfling is also a novice swords(wo)man, although without any real field-practise and only taught the basics, it is more of a... Precaution, as Elanor is more likely to either leg the scene or lie her way out of it.
Weaknesses:
While nimble and dexterous, and taking down the occasional drunken muscle-brain or angry guard without problem, Elanor lacks actual field experience for fighting against someone who knows what they're doing.
History:
That a life of tricks, lies, and exploitations has brought Elanor where she is now is not that much of a surprise. How she was put onto that path, is a different matter entirely. Found by a group of travelling minstrels, jesters and entertainers, the then little halfling was brought into their close family and raised as one of their own. The girl learned how to play a variety of instruments, and found herself to not be that terrible at singing either. The group travelled from city to city, making their living through use of their talents. A life to enjoy indeed.
That was, until a few year later. While the band of entertainers were a close family indeed, they had some... Darker goals, and as gullible as she was back then, Elanor did not hesitate one second to help her friends once more. The task? Stealing a valuable treasure from a nobleman's house. Surely that wasn't to strange, after all, the halfling had been around them long enough to know that stealing isn't all that bad. The richer society could miss it, and they were the ones who needed it.
What she didn't expect, was her only family abandoning her to her own fate when things had gone awry. As Elanor had successfully gotten a hold of the described pouch, she was caught as soon as she set foot out of the nobleman's estate. Her 'family' gladly taking the price before knocking the poor girl unconscious and leaving her for dead. The next thing the halfling knew, was that she had woken to the sight of a dark alley-way, broken and beaten and left to fend for herself.
Here she met her future partner-in-crime, a tiny gold dragon who she named Wily after taken it upon herself to take care of the poor creature. The years after that, Elanor wandered from town to town, brushing up her skills in both entertaining and trickery to make a living for herself and that of her new friend....
