Ability~
Hemokinesis-Aspen can manipulate his blood at will, after making an incision somewhere on his skin he can use his own blood as a weapon. If he really concentrates and is willing to use up some extra energy, he can even mess around with the blood of others. He can't use it like he can his own, but he could force someone to temporarily pass out by restricting blood flow to the brain.
Illusions-Secondly, he can make actual replicas of a person that appear to be human. If he feels like taking a hostage, he'll create an illusion to make someone believe their comrade has been taken captive. He can also make other illusions, such as creating a building that doesn't exist or conjuring up a person's worst fear.
Shadowmancy-the last trick of his sleeve, Aspen can bend and manipulate shadows just like he can his own blood. Combining this ability with creating illusions he can even go as far as separating his shadow from his body and using it as a clone in battle.
Personality~
Aspen is...very unstable to say the least. There are so many different sides to his personality it's hard to believe all of the traits are those of one singular person. He's tends to switch gears so much that you would think he had a problem with multiple personalities. One second he could be laughing maniacally, the next he's growling and ready to rip your spine out. His fellow members of Lamentations are probably the only ones used to his peculiar ways. To a stranger, he comes off as a madman, and well that's not very far from the truth.
One side, Aspen is very playful with his 'prey'. He doesn't just pull out his swords and start hacking away, he likes to take things nice and painfully slow. When he's feeling especially bored, he might have a little fun torturing his opponent. Often he'll be laughing or humming something while carrying on with his merciless fun. He's a bit of a masochist, but nothing excites him more than hearing the pained screams of a victim. Eventually he'll grow tired of playing around and just outright kill the person.
Sometimes Aspen is in a grumpier mood where he doesn't feel like playing around, instead he just jumps right to the killing part. He's a very messy fighter in a sense that stabbing his opponent once to kill them isn't enough, he has to go overboard and hack away at them until they aren't even recognizable anymore. It makes you wonder, is there a brighter side to his personality.
No. He's happiest when killing which is why he goes around attacking everyone he sees. The only time he might consider holding back is if Reno tells him to since he's the leader.
