Freija Lynn Arior's Story

Freija and Arekkusu were in her room, Freija was having difficulty falling asleep, she felt as if something was wrong. So much was on her mind, like what happened to Joseph and Annihila, the mysterious Arcanist, and Beatrix and Phoenix, the duo accompanying her on her journey. It was all too much to take in so quickly, her mind was boggled with all that happened. "Hhhmmm." She sighed, rolling around in her bed, trying to fall asleep, but to no avail, she just couldn't do it. She decided to take a midnight stroll through the town and go explore the port like she would do on occasion. She got dressed and grabbed her rapier and slowly opened the door, but the moogle heard that over all else, even her accidental knocking down of her chair.

"Kupo, where are you going!?" He asked quietly. "It's very late, kupo."

"I am going out for a walk, care to join me?" She smiled and asked.

The moogle flew to her side. "Of course, kupo." He smiled and the two walked outside.

As Freija and Arekkusu were walking past the old burned down building, she heard yelling coming from the cellar of it.
"Arekkusu, did you hear that too?" She asked.

"Kupo." He nodded. "Let's go see if someone is hurt!" He shouted and they both went into the shack and down the stairs but were blocked by a tornado.

"Shit." Freija cursed. "Let's break through it!" She exclaimed. "I think I can do it!"

"Freija, kupo, are you crazy?" Arekkusu asked. "You'll get hurt."

Freija readied her rapier and assumed her battle stance. "Eeeyyah!" She shouted as she rushed to the tornado, spun and slashed it, causing the winds to die out." She panted and saw Beatrix and Phoenix fighting a masked man and Joseph.

"Arekkusu stood at the peak of the steps. "Well that was anti-climatic, kupo." He said, rolled his eyes and hurried to Freija's side. He saw the battle raging in the cellar.

"What on earth is going on here!?" Freija called out. "Is Joseph on the enemy side!?" She asked, confused by the current situation. "Beatrix, Phoenix, allow me to join you." She said and readied her rapier. "Alright, take this!" She shouted. Freija dashed towards Night, spun around, avoiding his swift attack, but barely,and thrust her rapier, but his speed was quick and he seemed to dodge it. "What the, a ninja!" She noted. "Blades of sun and fire!" She called out and enchanted her rapier with a flaming aura. "Now, let's see how you like it!" She called out and swung at Night with all her agility helping her.

Arekkusu stood around, healing the wounds Freija, Beatrix, and Phoenix were sustaining. "Don't worry kupo! Dr. Arekkusu is here!" He shouted. "Breezes of light, help them out!" He called out, a blue refreshing light restored the wounds they received, but not entirely, but it helped. "Heal, kupo!" He chanted and mended the wounds again. "Now' let's roast 'em, kupo." the moogle said and focused his energy into a magical sphere and shot it at Joseph. "Flame!" Arekkusu then called out, a large burst of fire shooting out of the ground near Joseph's feet. Arekkusu had not wanted to hurt Joseph... badly, but he was an enemy right now, and enemies were bad.

The Rune Fencer looked at Joseph. "What did he mean?" She asked the others. The blonde samurai girl looked at Agnes, the Rune Fencer, who was holding Joseph.

"Let's get him to the inn at least." The samurai stated. "It would be best." The Rune Fencer and Onion Knight helped carry him and they proceeded towards the inn. They finally walked in and saw the inn-keep, he saw the wounded boy and told them to just go into the room and let him rest, the town healer would be over in the morning, it was very late, so everyone decided to rest.

Freija and Arekkusu met back with Beatrix and Phoenix and they all decided to head back to the inn until morning came.

The sounds of chirping birds gave signal that the morning sun had risen, it was shining bright on the windows and a beam of light shined right into the room through the open window. Freija woke up and got dressed and ate her bread and cheese for breakfast and headed over to the tavern that doubled as the inn to see if any news popped up. She and Arekkusu walked in and saw the Onion Knight, Rune Fencer, and Samurai sitting at a table. "Hey it's those bounty-hunters, I wonder if they know anything about these people." Freija asked.

"Let's ask, kupo. They are pretty nice people." Arekkusu said and the two walked over to them. Freija pulled up a chair and sat down with them, they were just eating breakfast.

"Hi Cara, hi Agnes and hi Brave." She smiled.

The Onion Knight, Brave, set his fork down and looked up at Freija. "Hello Freija, how are you today?" He asked.

She answered back smiling, "Great, so I have a question."

Cara, the blonde Samurai looked up at her. "Ask away." She stated.

"Do you have any idea on who a ninja might be? Or who Joseph is?" She asked.

Agnes nearly coughed on her bread as she tried to answer. "Ack... We found Joseph last night, they were being chased by that witch, Annihila, who actually was our bounty, but she and some odd man captured the ninja boy. Joseph said something along the lines of "he was helping me" and something else." Agnes replied.

Cara added on, "He also said something cryptic, saying "he was me" which was odd, but he is here in the inn, upstairs resting." She said and picked up her glass of water and drank it.

Freija looked in amazement to this. "That is odd, I wonder what relation those two had, Beatrix, Phoenix, Arekkusu and I were battling them last night in the cellar of the burned down shack, but the ninja escaped along with Joseph, we tried to find them but we couldn't so we gave up until morning."

"I wonder how Joseph is feeling right now... it is still best we leave him be until he wakes up. He seemed pretty beat from all that happened, and a bit burn, so no doubt that Annihila's magic was at work." Brave explained.

"Is an Arcanist that powerful, kupo?" Arekkusu asked, a bit scared.

Brave nodded. "We have heard she has the ability to cast forbidden spells, and it is just brutal. She's been a wanted bounty for quite awhile."

Freija leaned back in her chair. "Wow, all this is happening in Hyrien. I suppose it is an interesting change of pace."

Agnes quickly heard the tavern doors wing open violently and heard armor clanging and she got up and grabbed her rapier.
"What's wrong?" Brave asked, looking at Agnes with interest.

"Joseph, I heard his armor clanging, he is trying to escape, but not on my watch!" She said and bolted out the door. Joseph's speed in his armor was now match for Agnes, whose light garb allowed her agility to soar higher than his, she quickly spotted him and she followed him. She readied her rapier and a green aura surrounded her rapier. "Ready to fight!?" She asked, stopped and readied her blade as she caught up to Joseph and stood in his way. "Why are you doing this?"

Brave and Cara sat at the table. "What is up with him? We save his life and he goes escaping... I can guarantee he is after that ninja boy." Brave stated and got up and left his payment for everyone's food. "Let's go." He said and he grabbed his halberd and walked out the door. Cara grabbed her katana and followed him.

"Let's go Arekkusu." Freija said and he hopped onto her shoulder and they followed Brave and Cara. They ran for a bit and saw Agnes in front of Joseph, her rapier drawn.

Cara looked at Joseph. "Don't try anything stupid, boy. She will kick your ass in a heartbeat, there is no point running, she is faster than you, so just stop!" Cara yelled.

Agnes looked at the wound, "That's nothing." Agnes began glowing with a blue aura.

"Begone!" She called out "Azure Edge!" She cried and swung her rapier, a large bluish-green wave of energy sped towards Joseph knocking the wind out of him and severely damaging him. Joseph fell and Agnes avoided the traps that were very poorly planned and walked over to him. Cara followed and drew out her katana and pointed to his neck as he was cornered by Agnes, Freija, Brave and Cara.

"I recommend that you stop running and tell us what the hell you're doing." Cara stated and pressed the edge of the sword closer to his neck, one foul move and he would be dead. "You'd be in debt with your life if you tried anything stupid."

Freija looked at Joseph. "What is going on? Why are you doing this? You seemed like a good person, but now, I feel like Beatrix was right when she said a Rune Guardian shouldn't act like this. What happened to the Joseph I spoke to yesterday watching the sunset of Hyrien? You're obviously not him." Freija muttered.

Brave held up his halberd and a white energy sphere surrounded Agnes and then disappeared, her wound completely healed.
"We help you and help cure that poison to the best of our ability and this is the thanks? You're a real dumbass, you should be grateful for what we did to help you, otherwise you'd be dead. What a lowlife you are. Next time, don't be such a dick to anyone."

Cara moved aside her hair and kept her katana firmly nudged against his neck. "Now talk, we want some answers." She said, "Or shall I do something that'll hurt you more than me?"

Freija asked Joseph more questions. "Who was that Ninja and why do you insist on following him?"

Cara looked at him, pissed off. "Calm the hell down." She said and slapped him across the face.

Freija looked at Joseph. "He is a brother to you? You never told me that at all, how were we supposed to know this?"

Brave crossed his arms. "Honor is a notable thing, but we have no idea. The Witch Annihila and that man captured him and they must've taken him to their central command. If you want help, I suggest putting a notice at the Tavern."

Freija kneeled down to Joseph. "I am heading to Bisga, you can always join Arekkusu and I there and see if anyone there knows anything."

Agnes stood up and sheathed her rapier. "I like both of your ideas." She said. "You must've spoken too much didn't you?" She asked Joseph.

Cara looked at the sky, the clouds were moving slowly and a gentle breeze blew through. "One can only imagine where Annihila took him, obviously he did something or he has something about him that she was interested in."

Agnes looking at Joseph asked him about Night. "Does he have anything special about him?"

Freija and the bounty hunters stood and watched him go to the tavern. Cara was the first to point out his quick temper. "Somebody seems very ungrateful for this." She said. "Next time he pisses me off, that armor will be nothing but scrap metal." She then proceeded to go towards the item stand where Phoenix and Beatrix were.

Agnes walked up Freija. "Maybe he is haunted by a terrible past, but with an attitude like that, I feel like he will be in danger." She then left back to the inn.

Brave looked at the sunny sky. "Well, I wish I could join you, but we have a job to do, but good luck with quest, may our paths cross again soon, and you take care of her you hear me Arekkusu." He smiled as he patted Arekkusu's head.

Freija smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I hope to see you all again soon. Thanks Brave for that." She stated, brushing her silver hair out of her eyes. He just smiled and walked with Agnes.

Arekkusu waved goodbye to Brave and Agnes. "I will kupo!" He shouted.

"Well Arekkusu, let's go see Beatrix." Freija said and the two walked back to the merchant stand.


In the tavern a girl with a jacket and blue pants sat the bar near Joseph. "I couldn't help but overhear your dilemma." She smirked and set down her glass. "Are you running away from someone?" She asked.

Freija nodded to Beatrix. "Yes, I am going to leave today. We are prepared, we just bought some potions and are ready to go."

Arekkusu took a liking to Raine and began to play around with her. "Kupo kupo!" He giggled as he flew around in circles as Raine tried to catch him. "Kupo, this is fun, kupo!" He said and she caught him and held him and they both laughed.

Freija checked her pack. "I think I got everything I need." She said and checked her rapier. "Well, if you want to go, I will be at the gate waiting for you." She said. "Arekkusu, you ready?"

The moogle looked at Raine. "I have to go Kupo, I hope you come along, kupo." He said and flew over to Freija and they both walked over towards the gate to Bisga.

Cara was overlooking the display for items that interested her. "What to buy, what to buy." She muttered. Cara then noticed the girl chasing her cat. Cara picked up the cat and held it. "Are you lost?" She asked the cat and saw the girl. "Is this your cat?" She asked and handed the cat over to the girl. She appeared to be a Bard due to her bow. "Seems a bit tense, is your cat okay?" She wondered.

Agnes and Brave headed over to Cara. "We are going to head to Lake Shear, perhaps there might be something there."

Cara nodded in response. "Okay, I am ready."

Cara looked at Roshia. "I am headed to Lake Shear. It is bordering the merchant trade-city of Bisga. I suppose you can join us if you want to." Cara smiled and looked at the cat. "That cat sure seems odd, are you sure he's okay?" She asked.

Brave then saw Cara talking to Roshia. "Why hello m'lady." He bowed and saw Roshia holding a cat and saw the reactions of the cat. "My my, that cat seems a bit whacked today... not to be mean, but has it eaten anything?"

Cara then saw the paper. "Woah, a Class S bounty!?" Cara was shocked. "Are you crazy! Class S, we barely do Class S, we are still A and we are good bounty-hunters." She viewed the paper. "This is for a man named, Lionel, the Arch Carrier... It doesn't say much, oh wait, here it is... Wanted for experiments performed on humans... Geez, I've never heard of you before, taking a class S is risky, unless you can handle it. Anyways, the main point is if you want to join us, you can."

Freija looked at Beatrix and then walked over to Roshia. "I am heading to Bisga too, but we are leaving now... Cara, Brave, weren't you leaving later?"

Brave nodded. "Yeah, miss, if you wish to get a head start to Bisga, I suggest going with Freija here, she is leaving soon, we have some business to finish here, it is your choice."


The girl looked Joseph. "Man, you're in one hell of a bind aren't you?" She stretched and looked at his face and then stood up. "I am Arianna Terrador. A Geomancer from the town of Shear. I am here visiting for awhile and practicing my geomancy skills." She then quieted to a whisper. "I can take you to Bisga, but that's as far as I can take you for awhile. If you like I can take you there now, I was just getting ready to go there." She said.

Freija smiled. "Great to have you on board." She picked up Arekkusu and put him back on her shoulder. "Hopefully you have everything you need?" She asked.

Arekkusu sat on her shoulder calmly and waited patiently. "Kupo, let's go!" He cried. "Let's go Freija, I am so excited to see Bisga."
He tugged at her shoulder and whined a bit as he was a young moogle and acted like a child often, but he was very mature.

Freija poked his nose which made him flinch a bit but he giggled. "Alright already." She said. "Alright, I guess we'll be going." She smiled and the small band of people began to set out from Hyrien and into the world. The sun in the sky shined bright, almost leading a bright trail for them to follow and set out on a journey... a journey that would lead to many friendships and challenges ahead. What would lie ahead in Bisga?

End of Chapter I

Chapter II: Leaving What We Love
Freija and the group were proceeding through the plains of Hyrien and were almost to Bisga, perhaps an hour until they finally reached the merchant city. "I can't wait to see the Wildlands, I hear they are absolutely beautiful." Freija smiled.

Arekkusu sat on Freija's shoulder, occasionally looking back at Midnight with a scared, "Kupo" every now and then.

Freija turned and looked at Roshia as they continued walking. "It is a vast open field where Chocobos run free and it is just a beautiful site." She smiled "I have always wanted to see it and ride a chocobo." Freija then turned her head back and continued walking forward. "We're almost there." Freija stated and begin to pick up the pace a bit, walking a bit faster.

The sun was still lighting their path and the breeze blowing made it a nice day to proceed on their journey. It almost seemed too unusual for something in the area to be calm. Occasionally monsters would go a rampage in the Wildlands, but Bisga's guardian corps would normally handle it quickly, some people may not have even noticed it.

After walking the group stood at the top of a hill, "Look!" Freija pointed, "It's the Wildlands." She smiled. In the distance was a family of yellow chocobos frolicking and drinking from the blue pond near some trees and rocks. "Isn't it beautiful?" Freija asked.

Arekkusu agreed. "It is nice, kupo." He said, the wind blowing his pom-pom in front of his face.

Freija and the others proceeded down the hill, the chocobos seemed to be very tame, perhaps they were bred by the farmers up at Bisga. "Aww, they're so cute." Freija said. "I wonder if the people at the town would let us ride them?" She asked.

Arekkusu began laughing very hard. "Kupopopo! I would love to see you ride a chocobo!" He laughed, he then fell off of Freija's shoulder, but floated back up.

Freija got a bit angry. "What does that mean!?" She raged a bit playfully. "You probably think I would fall off! Well I have had some experience riding chocobos, a few times at the Academy we would ride them, but it wasn't much, but I could do it." She stated.

The moogle continued to laugh but regained his composure. "Sorry, kupo. I suppose riding a chocobo would be fun, but I would have more fun playing a fun game of chase, kupo." He smiled. Freija just patted his head and he giggled again. "Kupokupo!" He cheered.

Freija saw the entrance to Bisga. "Let's head that way, see what's going on here at the town." She said. The group then proceeded up another hill to Bisga. Merchants and traders were abundant in the town for sure and everyone was hustling and bustling. "I am heading to the tavern first, maybe Apollo is there." Freija said and headed towards the tavern. "You can join if you want, let's meet back at the fountain in the square in an hour!" She said. Arekkusu then flew in her direction.


A girl stood at the top of the mountain, in full armor with an armored wolf next to her. "Beatrix... So you've returned. Maybe now we can finally sort this mess out." She said. "Warg, let's go." She commanded and the dog got up and walked by her side as she walked down the mountain towards Bisga.




Somewhere in a dark lab-like room, Annihila and Night were joined by a mysterious man. Annihila held her staff up to Night, who was chained up by heavy, energy absorbing chains. "Now talk!" She commanded. "Tell us about the Mystic Arcana, you know the location!" She called out and rose her staff. A magic field appeared around her, then a large burst of dark energy hit Night, nearly knocking him out again.

The man looked at Annihila. "You must be careful not to kill him you know." He said and casted a healing spell on Night.

"But that wouldn't be fun." She griped. "I enjoy this little game. If he doesn't give us answers he is going to die REAL soon." She then laughed maniacally. "Oh, how I love being the villain, so much fun!" She giggled.

Freija entered the tavern and surely enough, Apollo was on the stage, playing his harp and singing a lovely ballad. A few minutes later he finished and walked over to the bar table where Freija was sitting, watching the performance. "Hi Frieja. It's been a long time." He said, hugging her. "How've you been, Arekkusu?" He asked, rubbing his head.

Arekkusu giggled. "Kupo! I've been great kupo, thanks for asking. It looks like the people enjoyed your music, kupo. I did." He smiled.

Freija chuckled a bit. "It has been a very long time. How's everything here in Bisga working for you?" She asked back, pulling up a seat for him. "Oh excuse me, some water please." She asked the barkeeper. He smiled and got her a glass of water.

Apollo sat down and seemed to be exhausted. "Hyrien still the same old?" He asked, ordering a glass of water himself and when he got it, gulped it down rather quickly.

Freija took a sip of her water. "Yes, for the most part." She said. "Except one thing." She said and told Apollo about the whole Joseph incident and the Annihila event.

Apollo took another gulp of water. "I see. Interesting story. Sounds like quite a crew you're traveling with. Where you headed?" He asked.

"I don't know." She said. "Wherever the wind takes us I suppose. You ever thought about leaving?" She asked.

"Many times." He replied. "Just never did it though, never knew where."

The barkeep butted in politely. "How about Lake Shear? Plenty of stuff there to explore." He said.

Freija perked up. "Maybe we could go there." She stated.

A girl wearing a dragon mail got up and grabbed her spear and walked over to Apollo. "Great performance and I couldn't overhear your conversation about Lake Shear, I was going to go there, but I hear Leviathan the serpent resides there, would you mind if I tagged along with you?" The girl asked.

"No, not at all. What's your name?" Freija asked.

The girl put her fist over her heart and bowed. "General Reagan D'Arche Valia, daughter to King and Queen Valia. From the continent of Valia. General of the Dragon Wings, an elite group of soldiers, but my parents sent me on an odd quest to find the 8 dragon shards, I have two so far, Leviathan should be the third. You wouldn't mind if I joined?"

Freija smiled. "You can come. We'd love to have a Dragon Knight from Valia on our group. Welcome." She smiled.

Reagan smiled. "You all seem like good people."

Reagan looked at Midnight and Roshia and smiled. "That cat and you are really quite a pair it seems." She chuckled. "You seem to be at each other's necks from what Freija told me... even from the short time she was with you." Reagan tried to hide her laugh but it seemed to get to her. "Anyway, I am glad you are letting me come with... I appreciate it." She nodded and proceeded to drink her glass of water.

As she put her glass down, the ground began to rumble. "What the hell is that?" Reagan wondered. Her glass was shaking violently on the wooden bar. Before she noticed it, the glass fell to the ground and shattered and she heard a fearsome roar. "What in Eden's name is that!?" She panicked. "Something big." She mumbled. The knight grabbed her spear and went out the door. "C'mon we have to check this out, it probably won't be good." Reagan said. After running towards the gate she saw a large monster, holding a chocobo in its hand and appeared to be crushing it. "Oh god, that chocobo!" She cried out.

As Reagan ran into the Wildlands, a rush of air blew past her and saw it was a spinning blade chakram. A girl in a chocobo mask came running down the hill. "Put Minni down!" She yelled at the beast.

Reagan looked at the girl. "Who are you?" She asked.

The girl smiled and put a thumb up. "Roxanna Volkner, Chocobo Knight of Bisga. Now would you mind assisting me in saving these chocobos?" She asked kindly.

Reagan nodded. "Of course." She smiled. "We gotta stop this thing before it attacks the town."

Freija, Arekkusu and Apollo ran outside and saw the huge creature. "Let's go help!" Freija shouted and drew her rapier and dashed out towards the Wildlands. "Take this!" She said as she jumped and stabbed the creature. The damage was minimal, this monster had thick skin and was very resistant. "Damn, let's find out more about it." She said and used a spell card. "Scan!" She chanted.

Rings appeared the monster. Freija got a reading of it. "High health, knows Devour, Rush, and Clobber. Weak to Fire!" She said.

Arekkusu looked at Freija. "Got it, kupo!" He said and focused his energy. "Burning rages, go!" He said and fired a blast of fire at the monster. It hit with full power and staggered the monster. "Got him, kupo!" The monster violently blindly moved around to wipe off the flames. It roared with mighty force. It began to charge towards to Apollo who had an arrow drawn and fired as it began running and gave time for him to avoid the attack.

"We have to keep it away from the town." Apollo said and ran to the opposite side of the town. "Life's divine melody, replenish those injured!" He sung and green auras emitted. Regen had been set on everyone, restoring their health over time. "We can take this thing down!" He shouted. He cast Poison on the creature but it didn't seem to work. "Shit."

Freija looked at her blade and held it in both hands. "Blades of sun and fire!" She called out. Her rapier began flaming a bit. "That should help." She smirked and ran up to the monster, swiftly dodging the swipes it flung at her. For being a large creature it moved rather quickly which wasn't good. Freija hit the creature multiple times and did some decent damage but was knocked back by the monster. "Ugh." She moaned as she got up. "I am okay." She said, brushing herself off.

Reagan ran up to the creature and with her left hand punched the monster. "Lancet!" She called out. Energy began flowing from the creature to Reagan. "Take that." She said and lept into the air and landed on the creature with her spear, removed it and backflipped off it. "What you can't see will hurt you." She taunted.

The Chocobo Knight, Roxanna threw her chakram at the monster. "Quite a sentinel that thing is!" She cursed. "Why does this always happen." Her chakram began glowing. "Shining Slash!" She called and threw her chakram at blinding speeds and immediately appearing back in her hand in an instant, the monster staggering a bit more. "Phew, thought that would work."

Reagan looked at Midnight and Roshia and smiled. "That cat and you are really quite a pair it seems." She chuckled. "You seem to be at each other's necks from what Freija told me... even from the short time she was with you." Reagan tried to hide her laugh but it seemed to get to her. "Anyway, I am glad you are letting me come with... I appreciate it." She nodded and proceeded to drink her glass of water.

As she put her glass down, the ground began to rumble. "What the hell is that?" Reagan wondered. Her glass was shaking violently on the wooden bar. Before she noticed it, the glass fell to the ground and shattered and she heard a fearsome roar. "What in Eden's name is that!?" She panicked. "Something big." She mumbled. The knight grabbed her spear and went out the door. "C'mon we have to check this out, it probably won't be good." Reagan said. After running towards the gate she saw a large monster, holding a chocobo in its hand and appeared to be crushing it. "Oh god, that chocobo!" She cried out.

As Reagan ran into the Wildlands, a rush of air blew past her and saw it was a spinning blade chakram. A girl in a chocobo mask came running down the hill. "Put Minni down!" She yelled at the beast.

Reagan looked at the girl. "Who are you?" She asked.

The girl smiled and put a thumb up. "Roxanna Volkner, Chocobo Knight of Bisga. Now would you mind assisting me in saving these chocobos?" She asked kindly.

Reagan nodded. "Of course." She smiled. "We gotta stop this thing before it attacks the town."

Freija, Arekkusu and Apollo ran outside and saw the huge creature. "Let's go help!" Freija shouted and drew her rapier and dashed out towards the Wildlands. "Take this!" She said as she jumped and stabbed the creature. The damage was minimal, this monster had thick skin and was very resistant. "Damn, let's find out more about it." She said and used a spell card. "Scan!" She chanted.

Rings appeared the monster. Freija got a reading of it. "High health, knows Devour, Rush, and Clobber. Weak to Fire!" She said.

Arekkusu looked at Freija. "Got it, kupo!" He said and focused his energy. "Burning rages, go!" He said and fired a blast of fire at the monster. It hit with full power and staggered the monster. "Got him, kupo!" The monster violently blindly moved around to wipe off the flames. It roared with mighty force. It began to charge towards to Apollo who had an arrow drawn and fired as it began running and gave time for him to avoid the attack.

"We have to keep it away from the town." Apollo said and ran to the opposite side of the town. "Life's divine melody, replenish those injured!" He sung and green auras emitted. Regen had been set on everyone, restoring their health over time. "We can take this thing down!" He shouted. He cast Poison on the creature but it didn't seem to work. "Shit."

Freija looked at her blade and held it in both hands. "Blades of sun and fire!" She called out. Her rapier began flaming a bit. "That should help." She smirked and ran up to the monster, swiftly dodging the swipes it flung at her. For being a large creature it moved rather quickly which wasn't good. Freija hit the creature multiple times and did some decent damage but was knocked back by the monster. "Ugh." She moaned as she got up. "I am okay." She said, brushing herself off.

Reagan ran up to the creature and with her left hand punched the monster. "Lancet!" She called out. Energy began flowing from the creature to Reagan. "Take that." She said and lept into the air and landed on the creature with her spear, removed it and backflipped off it. "What you can't see will hurt you." She taunted.

The Chocobo Knight, Roxanna threw her chakram at the monster. "Quite a sentinel that thing is!" She cursed. "Why does this always happen." Her chakram began glowing. "Shining Slash!" She called and threw her chakram at blinding speeds and immediately appearing back in her hand in an instant, the monster staggering a bit more. "Phew, thought that would work."

Arekkusu saw Roshia and her injury. "Don't worry kupo!" He cried. "We have to keep it far from the town as possible, kupo." He flew over to Roshia. "Don't fail on us now, kupo." He said, trying to keep calm. "Life's refreshing breeze!" He chanted and casted Heal on Roshia, healing her wounds. "Don't be so reckless, kupo." The moogle flew back over to the fight and began to cast his Flame spell. The beast was a tough monster, but hopefully all their power combined would take it down.

As Freija rushed toward the beast, dodging the onslaught, but one wrong maneuver and she would really feel some pain. She spun and avoided an attack and stabbed at the beast's exposed leg and tried to weaken it more, her enchanted blade dealing extra damage to the monster, it then must've been sent into a rage and swung its mighty arm, knocking Freija into the pond. "Damn creature. It's a tough one, it doesn't want to give up. I give it credit for that though, but agh, that hurt." Freija moaned, she pulled out one of her potions and drank it and recovered a bit of her health. It was enough to get back into the fight. She ran up from behind and slashed it repeatedly, this time, the monster was able to be wounded heavily, but it still didn't seem to show any signs of even weakening yet. "Here everyone." She called and casted Enfire on everyone's weapon to add fire to all of their physical attacks. "That will help."

Roxanna threw her now-flaming chakram at the leg of the beast and it quickly returned to her. The chocobo eater was in pain from the attack but recovered and picked up a large rock and threw it at Roxanna, her incredible speed allowed her to avoid the rock. "To slow for me, now try this on!" She called and used Shining Slash again, the blade disappearing and reappearing in her hands in a matter of a second and blood spilling from the monster. "Ha, too fast for ya?" She taunted.

Apollo began to sing his valiant anthem to heal his allies. "We can't give up now." He said. "Now, let's see if this works." He said and casted Poison on it. The toxic magic had managed to stick to it, and slowly but surely weakened it. "That will turn the tides, but we still got a long battle ahead of us." Apollo then drew back an arrow and the tip was ignited and fired, nailing the monster in the leg, its only visible weak spot.

"Lancet!" Reagan cried she punched the beast again to drain its energy, and stabbed it with her spear, leaving some flames left on its body that it hurried to remove. "Damn this creature is resistant, there must be some effective means to dispatch it." She said, but was hit by a massive force when it swiped at Reagan, knocking her on her back. She began to cough and wheeze, but recovered, barely. "Geez, ugh. Ahuh," She coughed. "Felt like being hit by a cannon. Good lord." She complained. "That won't stop me though." She smiled and jumped into the air. She landed on its back, stabbing it with the spear and jumping off.

The monster went on a rampage again and started to stomp around like a kid having a tantrum. Its ear-piercing roar sounded through the area. The shaking earth was not helping the warriors at all. It then picked up some rocks and threw them into the air violently, nobody knowing when they might come down, or who they would come down on.

Reagan looked at Raine and Roshia. "You two, go evacuate the citizens, it is too dangerous for them to stay here, tell them to go to Lake Shear and hide there! We don't want to risk anymore casualties then necessary."

Freija swiped and slashed multiple times at the beast on the ground. It began to flail less and less marking it was almost dead. "C'mon we can do this!" She cheered on. "Eyah!" She screamed as she impaled the chocobo eater in the abdomen. Freija's flaming rapier was practically dancing with the various slashes and techniques she was utilizing to attack the monster. A large sphere of fire hit the monster hard and Freija saw Arekkusu floating there, smiling, Freija simply smiled back.

Apollo drew another fiery arrow back and released, the arrow hitting the creature in the arm, blood began to pour out of the wound. The Chocobo Eater stood back to its feet and rammed Apollo towards a tree. He coughed up a bit of blood but was okay. "Damn thing." He cursed and got back up and used a potion to recover the wounds. "Let's go everyone! We can stop it!"

Arekkusu spun around and healed the group to completely heal their wounds. "Kupo!" The moogle stated. He then focused and let loose a large blast of Flame at the creature and knocked it back down to the ground. "Now, someone finish it off!"

Reagan dashed towards the enemy, spear at the ready and jumped into the air and aimed her spear at beast's chest and landed right on it, the monster's eye widened and it stopped completely, the body had stopped flailing, it was finally dead. Reagan stood there, panting. The soldiers had all fought well, it was a rough battle but everyone had survived and it was over. The townspeople could finally return and rebuild the two broken buildings.

The townspeople began to flock out of the Lake, and saw the exhausted soldiers standing together, overlooking the large beast that had begun to dissolve away. The Salve-Maker was the first to greet the brave soldiers. "I see my potion worked." He grinned.

Reagan nodded. "What exactly was that?" She asked.

The Salve-Maker looked at Reagan. "Sortia Vanados." The man looked at his journal. "In other words, Anit-Beast Acid." Placing the journal in his pocket and walked over to the others. "Good job, tonight, head to the tavern for a victory round on me!" He said. The group looked at the gate, countless people were smiling and cheering them on, applauding their hard-earned victory.

Freija brushed her hair out of her eyes. "The chocobos!" She remembered and looked back and saw all the chocobos reunited. Freija simply smiled and Arekkusu sat on her shoulder like always.

Roxanna walked over to the chocobos. "I will take them back to the barn. I owe you guys big time... I could have never taken on that monster, but I have never seen one before. Something had to have drawn it out of the Lake, but I have no clue... Anyway, I really do thank you, and the chocobos do too." Roxanna smiled. The family of chocobos were jumping and happily frolicking in the plains then Roxanna walked over and began to take them to the barn, mounting the largest one and riding it, the others following.

Night had already befallen Bisga and the stars were illuminating the sky, the tavern doors were propped open and bustling music and joy were bursting throughout. Freija, Apollo and Arekkusu were sitting at a large table near the middle of the tavern, waiting for Reagan, Roxanna and the others to join them.

"I can't believe it is over. That monster was vicious, I am just glad we saved the town and those chocobos." Freija said, stretching.

"You're right, kupo." Arekkusu said, sitting on the table and lifting his large glass of milk with both hands and trying to drink it without spilling it. "I was so scared, kupo. At least everyone is safe."

The Salve-Maker walked over to the table and pulled up a chair. "So, how does it feel to be heroes of this town?" He asked.

Freija took a sip of her wine and looked at the Salve-Maker. "It doesn't feel any different then before, I am just glad that everyone is okay, as well as the condition of the town... By the way, how is the reconstruction of the two buildings that were destroyed?" She asked.

"Quite a few men and women have volunteered to begin reconstruction in the morning, thanks to you, it was only two buildings, if you hadn't been here, it could've been the whole town..." A few seconds of silence arose. "Oh yes, I don't believe I ever introduced myself. I am Salve-Maker Wilhelm. Pleasure."

Freija smiled. "Freija Lynn Arior, the pleasure is all mine, you helped out a lot with that potion of yours."

"I am Arekkusu, kupo!" The moogle added. "Nice to meet you, Wilhelm." Wilhelm nodded and smiled at Arekkusu.

Apollo drank his glass of wine. "We have already met, Wilhelm... I have been here in Bisga for almost a year now I believe. Hasn't it been a year?" He asked.

Wilhelm nodded. "I think so. Wow time sure flies haha. Well, now, don't be afraid to get what you want, I mean, you did save the town and everyone in it."

Reagan had entered the tavern and looked around and saw the group at the table. She happily walked over and took a seat next to Apollo and Arekkusu. "Sorry I took so long, I must've overslept... I am sorry." She said.

"Don't worry, kupo. We are still waiting for Roshia and Roxanna." Arekkusu said, taking his glass of milk again.

Freija looked out the window. "I believe Roxanna was at the barn still, finishing up her work there, and I am not sure about Roshia, maybe she is still at the Inn. I know that Beatrix, Phoenix and Raine are at the Inn cleaning up after the battle, they will be here shortly I assume."

Wilhelm leaned back in his chair. "Give them time, the night is still young."

Freija stood up from the festivities and walked over after hearing the commotion that Raine and Roshia had been making. "What's going on?" She asked, looking around. She was startled after hearing the cat speak. "The hell!?" Quite surprised, Freija took another look at the cat. "My my, this little cat can talk now."

Raine explained the situation to Freija.
"I see. So I think he was under a curse from a magician, and he was silenced. Perhaps maybe a magic cat?"

Arekkusu flew over to Midnight. "So, you can talk now too, Kupo?" Midnight responded with some not-so-friendly remarks. "You better watch your tongue you dumb old cat. Otherwise, you make say goodbye to the fur when I burn it. Don't test little moogles like me, Kupo."

This seemed to do little to offend the cat, but Arekkusu simply flew up to Freija's shoulder and sat there like normal.

Reagan stood up as she heard a noise coming from the forest. "What the hell was that!? It sounded like it came from the lake nearby. I will go check it out, I can observe from the trees, so I will go alone. I will return shortly."

"Wait, you don't want any company?" Freija asked.

Reagan held her spear and smiled. "No, but I thank you, I don't want anyone hurt, I will be okay." She said and ran out the doors and towards the direction of the lake. She leapt onto the tree branches and swiftly jumped from branch to branch and finally saw a girl in a blue outfit and what appeared a ninja battling a medium sized swamp dragon. "It seems they have it under control, but just to be safe...Eyah!" She cried as she leapt high and crashed down on the dragon with her spear and quickly jumped up. Hiding in the branches she saw the dragon severely weaken. "That should be fine, I will head back."

Arianna continued battling and noticed the dragon nearly die. "Thank you, whoever you are." She said and continued battling the dragon. "One more hit and you'll be dead!" She cried, clobbering the dragon with her staff, it seemed to fly away, she didn't know if it died while flying away or found a safe spot, either way it was gone. "Night, are you here?" The ninja apparently left.

Reagan arrived back. "A group of travelers were battling a baby swamp dragon, don't worry, they seemed fine, quite a powerful duo, a girl in blue and perhaps a boy in black, a ninja."

"A ninja! It had to have been Night. They must be heading to Shear, hopefully they will stay there for awhile." Freija looked at the clock in the room. "It's getting late, I should be heading off to bed, see you all in the morning, c'mon Arekkusu."

As Freija lie in her bed, she opened her eyes up. She couldn't sleep, something was on her mind. Rolling over, she got out of bed, careful not to wake up Arekkusu. The tavern was still brightly lit, the celebration still going on. "Gee, people really are enjoying us saving their village. I suppose they have a good reason, many lives were saved... But why can't I fall asleep?"

"Ku....po....Ku.....po." Arekkusu could be heard mumbling as he went on sleeping, like a little lamb, completely oblivious to everything around him. Freija smiled as she looked at him, sleeping peacefully.

"S'pose I should get back to bed." Freija said under her breath and crawled back into bed and closed her eyes. She couldn't stop thinking about tomorrow, and helping Reagan on her trek to find Leviathan. It was going to be an eventful day most likely.

Reagan stood on the balcony of her room, staring at the moon. "Mother... Father, why do you need these shards?" She wondered as she held the two dragon shards in her hand. "Valia is one of the top kingdoms, if not the top. Are you trying to start a war?" The moon's faint glow shined on the nearby pond in the village, it was a pleasant sight. "I can't sleep, knowing about tomorrow and my encounter with Leviathan. Eden only knows how that will go." Reagan sat on her bed and looked at the glowing shards. "I am sorry, Regole and Branth. Next will be Leviathan, then Feyrbrand."

Apollo had been the only person that probably would get sleep throughout the night, everyone's nerves would probably keep them up, the next day was sure to be interesting, but could also be dangerous, nobody knew except Eden.


Arianna had continued walking through the lake. "That person saved me, I cannot repay him or her enough. I still wonder, where di that Ninja boy go? He obviously cared about his own life more than anything else, some people can be selfish, I didn't trust him much to begin with anyway, but his battle skill was still pretty mediocre, nothing to be proud of."

The large group already at the inn stood in the lobby, talking to Reagan.
"I thank you all for choosing to help me in my quest to find the Dragon Shard of Leviathan. I am quite reluctant to get it though, I fear that he will challenge us to battle as he has done before. I hope you are prepared to fight." Reagan said, looking at her pet Wyrm, Seiryu. "I still wonder why my parents want me to get these Dragon Shards. What could they possess that makes my parents want them?"

"Perhaps they have some sort of magical power, Kupo?" Arekkusu asked, scratching his pom-pom on his head. "Does Valia have a powerful magician squad, Kupo?"

"No, Valia is reliant on the Dragon Wings, a group which I command. We only have one enemy, the Dragon Busters. A group trained in the arts of quickly dispatching dragons and Dragon Knights alike. They are known to be able to block off our jumping abilities and our abilities to channel Dragon Arts. It is quite devastating. I suppose this is why my parents seek the shards, but what do these dragons have that the others don't?" Reagan asked.

Apollo leaned back in his chair some more and paused before he spoke. "You're parents must believe that these Dragon Shards may stop the Dragon Busters, but anyway, shouldn't we be heading for the Lake now?" He asked.

Everyone looked at Freija. "It seems you are the group leader." Reagan smiled. "It's your call."

Freija smiled and had a look of determination on her face. "Let's move out to Lake Shear!" Freija said and the group stopped at all the shops and gathered everything they needed. The group stood at the entrance of Lake Shear, the sunlight was filtering through the trees, a beautiful sight it was, the reverie of the water was magnificent.

As the group carried on into the woods that surrounded the lake, a large waterfall stood before them, a small hill with a fence ran alongside the right side of the hill, preventing those from falling into the water. A medium sized bridge with ivy-covered pillars stood above the roaring falls.

"Leviathan's resting spot is in a large pond just in that area behind the bridge." Reagan said and the group headed up the hill, seeing a large lake in the distance, the water a gorgeous color of blue. "That is it ahead." Reagan said. "Everyone get ready."
