Description

Image

He is The Reaper, The Watcher from the Depths. He Who Dwells Beneath the Waves. He is Father, Warrior and Stanger who took Mother, Maiden and Crone when he would and held the Smith in thrall. Behold the Drowned God, great master of the Sea and Lord of the Waves. It is he who teaches those born of salt and rock to pay the Iron Price and to carve their names in blood and song.

Name: Balon, The Drowned God
Gender: Male
His Words: "What is dead may never die."
Title: God of the Sea
Appearance: Balon the mighty Reaver is a God whose appearance can change like the tides as too the waves can bring a sailor home they can also swallow him whole. Often depicted with a brown, almost chestnut colored beard and long, sometimes braided hair, adorned with sea shells he is a handsome god. The body of a warrior as befitting The Reaper.

Image
Balon in his great Drowned Hall is a God remarked for his beauty and calm, his regal nature and undeniable power hums around him like gentle waves lapping at a sandy shore. It is when Balon is in a pleasant mood that he is most approachable and affable, you may find the Drowned God benevolent indeed when the seas are calm.

Image
His anger stirs and the Reaper prowls the depths for those to drag into the darkness. For those who take for granted their place on the waves shall drown like all the rest. He is armed with the salty sea itself and the rocks from its depths. His mighty trident in hand great tentacles writhe out from his body born of the very waves themselves. He mounts his steed so too born of the sea to ride against his foes when those foolish enough to challenge the sea seek to meet it's murky depths.

Image
His rage consumes and the Drowned God rises from the depths. All shall drown beneath his fury when the Reaper cometh. In this, his final form, the man is gone with his beauty and grace and come has the monster that lurks beneath the waves. A titan in size and scope men tremble at his sight. He brings all to sink below his waters men and maiden, babe and crone, all shall scream in terror for none shall again see home.

Personality: The Drowned God is a god who teaches to reav and sack, and to cut ones path through life with axe and blade. He respects strength and loathes weakness. As the sea itself Balon knows not how to yield but instead is ever in constant motion. He can at times flow peaceful and serene as still water and at other times crash with the fury of a tempest. A hard god who breeds hard followers, those who seek to master the sea must pay him tribute if they seek to traverse its surface. Balon is neither evil nor good yet lies somewhere in between. He is a friend to the trader and merchant, the sailor and the explorer. A father to the fishermen and the crabber yet so too is he The Reaper. One to take a life at his wish, so he can be thought as an unpredictable god at times and feared with just cause. It is often said for those who pray to the drowned god that when they are lost at sea Balon took him down below for he was in need of a strong oarsmen and took him below to feast in his watery hall where he will be attended by mermaids and so it is said, "What is dead may never die."
Symbol:

His symbol is a golden Kraken on a black field, often depicted with the words "We Do Not Sow" for it is written from the words of the Drowned God himself that his true followers should not sow the fields nor mine the rock. His followers reav and pay the iron price. To pay the iron price as practiced by the followers of Balon is for the acquisition of possessions. Followers of the Drowned God do not carry purses of gold nor attend market stalls, they take what they desire, they reave, from the corpses of them they've slain for that is the iron price.

So begins...
