History

Jacob was always a genius as a kid, reading everything he could get his hands on and excelling in every class that he took. Everyone told him that he wouldnā€™t be able to skate by without doing such things like taking notes or paying attention, they would tell him that it would get harder for him next year. Sadly it never did, he constantly had to devour knowledge in the hopes of trying to challenge himself even a little. He joined clubs such as speech and debate as well as the computer science teams. Every group he joined only ended up succeeding because of him, nothing proved a true challenge to him in the areas of thinking. By the time heā€™d reached 18 heā€™d already earned a number of degrees in physics and mathematics as well as philosophy, breezing through them easily because of his mind. At this point he stepped into the theoretical sciences, making great strides in areas that others had no understanding of. Due to his knowledge and abilities in all fields he was quickly offered a number of positions in various places, it was a position in CERN one of our worldsā€™ most prestigeā€™ groups, that caught his attention best . It was there that he began his research on a major level.

While in studies he was the greatest he lacked a certain something when it came to human interaction. It seemed as though he was always wearing a mask, acting the roles that heā€™d been given while never truly understanding them. In a flood his parents and family were killed, drowned in their own homes because of the quickly rising water levels. At the funerals there wasnā€™t a dry eye in the room, except for the two in his head of course. His interactions with people always left something wanting, as though there was some sort of disconnect between him and everyone else. Such things as sarcasm have never been understood by him and the idea of love and true human connection shave never been within his abilities. In his eyes, people are as alien as he is to them.

When magic was announced to the world, it was as though a fire had finally been lite within him. Finally a subject came that he could dive into, a subject that would challenge him. He was on the forefront of it all when, learning and understanding it on every level. He quickly excelled at runic magic, magic that requires the use of symbols or runes of some sort. It wasnā€™t long before heā€™s learned almost all that he could at the institute. During one of his attempts to gain funding for a project he accidently insulted the scientist on the spending board, saying that they were too stupid to understand his work and they should just let someone such as him do whatever he wanted; obviously he was denied funding, but he couldnā€™t grasp the reason. It was then, that a lifelong friend of his talked to him, confronted him with how disconnected he was with the world. His friend told him about the school, a place that by teaching he might be able to give back to the community but most importantly learn more about human interactions. With this thought he set off to the school, already having been extended a previous invitation to join their staff.

Jacob

Jacob moved towards the school gates, his steps perfectly placed. With each move of his body his mind automatically processed information quickly and easily, making sure that it was doing the right thing and the best thing. Jacob had his bag thrown over his shoulder and could feel the weight of the books he was carrying pull down on him a little. They were all things he would need though as a teacher, heā€™d packed only the things that he would need for the start of the school year. Heā€™d never been a teacher before but it was good that he hadnā€™t been too late; his arrival had been perfect for such a sudden trip. Heā€™d not planned on doing anything like this a week ago and here he was, milling around with all of the others. He called them others not as some insult or name but rather because they were as alien to him as he was to them, he couldnā€™t understand how their minds worked at all. It didnā€™t matter what race you were, numbers made more sense to Jacob than people. Yet this was also the reason he was here, to learn, to understand, to make a connection; this was where he would learn that one thing that had always eluded him, how to connect. Jacobs gaze flicked forward to the towering gates of the school, still closed sadly but something about them was inviting. Heā€™d spent so long studying and researching, being on the forefront of every scientific and magical frontier. It would be interesting to take a shot at teaching for once.

Jacob flexes his hand a little as he studied the gates, it seemed as though they were magically inscribed and every part of him wanted to study them. His gauntlet could draw a little energy from it for him to study but that might make some problems. He stood in the middle of the street, his eyes studying every part of the school gates before him; his mind was filled with numbers and symbols as he looked on.

Marcus

Marcus walked clumsily out of the boat; heā€™d slept the entire trip and had only just woken up. Everything before him was blurry, his body ached and he had a cut on his arm that was bleeding. Every part of him was dilapidated and beaten up, his limbs hanging like strands of meat with barely enough energy to move. The very blow of the wind threatened to knock him over and into the sea. When heā€™d first pulled himself out of his bunk the sailor that had woken him had thought he was gonna die, collapse right there on the boat. Marcus had managed to pull himself out into the sunlight though as he closed his eyes, he raised a shaky hand to his chest and held his necklace in his hand. With a thought he severed the link between him and the necklace, stopping the drainage of all of his strength and senses. He always tried to store up some stuff for his heirloom while he slept, it was a good way to do it but it made him too weak to do anything during the day so he had to stop it when he awoke.

With the link severed it was like seeing him shift into a whole new person. His body stood straighter, his eyes unclouded and his muscled filled out more. He turned from a man who might have been dead at one moment to a strong handsome man. He glanced at the wound on his arm, a wound that had not healed overnight so that he could store up some healing in his heirloom along with everything else. He called up a little of that stored energy and the flesh knitted itself back together again within a second. He couldnā€™t go bleeding on everyone after all. As always it seemed as though a wave of sensations hit him, one moment he could barely hear or see and the next he was taking in everything, it always brought him close to sensory overload.

Marcus walked forward on his renewed legs, some stunned sailors watching him go. He moved easily and with a cockiness that would have made his brother cry. His eyes quickly found the cafĆ©, and an old friend chatting with two angels. With a grin on his face Marcus walked towards them, unicorns might normally be polite and respectful but he had no issues with butting into a conversation. He moved up behind Kisa and wrapped his arms around her neck as he answered the angel that had been talking. He said with a grin on his face and a wink at the female across from him. ā€œSheā€™s the little spawn of a god; the owl here should give away which one. Sorry to but inā€¦well thatā€™s a lie, Iā€™m not sorry at all to but in when there are two such pretty ladies in front of meā€

Advar could smell the build up of moisture in the air, was it going to rain? Well, wouldn't that put a damper on the... initiation? Before he could truly formulate his thoughts on the weather, he heard the sound of footsteps smacking against cobblestone behind him. A precise walk.. with equal measured steps. Someone was either stiff, or was obsessively compulsive. He did not bother to turn around and face the gate itself as looking through the bars would really do him no favor, and he was sure the person would speak up if he needed something. Well, it was a pleasant day, and the floor of the ground was only mildly uncomfortable, and so he went back to his thoughts about the weather. Of course, he could have used magic to determine if it truly was going to rain, or even force it to rain if he wished, but where was the fun in that? He thought people were too... jumpy with their magic as if everyone in the world was determined to try and impress one another.

Another sound caught his attention. Someone else was approaching the first person, who had not moved since. He listened as she spoke to him introducing herself, and it was indeed a woman by her voice. Once more he was tempted to stand, but decided against it. He would most likely not get to enjoy his solitude for awhile, so it was best to enjoy it as much as possible now... that was until he heard the barking of a gun. Going from the sound, it was directly ahead at an elevated level, no doubt coming from a window in the school. What were they shooting? And then he felt the small concentrated bolt of magic pass overhead and slam into the gate just behind him. It gave Advar just enough time to have one thought pass through his mind Really? Really!?

The door slammed open and with the sudden loss of a back support, Advar felt himself falling backwards and only came to a stop when the back of his head smacked against the cobblestone. Oddly enough, the next thought was not about pain, but about the thought he had moments before, about people using magic in pointless ways.. this was such a way. Would it have killed them to simply walk to the blasted gate and open it instead of shooting it like a half-baked moron? Would walking truly take that much time and energy? Advar rubbed the back of his head, letting out a soft "Ow..."

Jacob

Jacob blinked as the gates started to swing open, heā€™d been lost in his mind again, thinking of a thousand things at once. It would have to be a habit that he got out of soon; he turned as he heard the words come tumbling upon him. He hadnā€™t seen the girl come up but she was there somehow so she must have done just that. He forced one of his smiles upon his face as he spoke back to her. ā€œgood to meet you, I am Jacob Koshack. I shall be teaching the Algebra 1 and 2 here.ā€ He turned his gaze back towards the campus as he began to move, he stopped though as a thought came to him. He was supposed to be making friends and it would do him no good not to interact a little. He turned back and grinned a hopefully friendly way and extended his hand to her for a shake. This was what one did to a new college yes?

Marcus

Marcus stood with a smile on his face as he shoved his hands into his pockets. He turned to Kisa as he walked towards the school a little, he said to her with a small laugh upon his lips. ā€œand here I thought I was just so loveable. Itā€™s good to see you again girlie and Iā€™m happy youā€™ll be here to make it interesting; maybe Iā€™ll let you answer next time. ā€ He turned back a little and said as he passed the male angel, Samson. ā€œDonā€™t worry, I have a habit of growing on youā€ He moved back him and let his hand brush a lock of hair out of the Enkelisā€™ face and said with another wink at her. ā€œand I hope youā€™ll be letting me grow on you cutieā€ With that done he moved back to Kisaā€™s side and gave her a smile.

Jacob nodded silently as he fallowed after her, it seemed as though he was already going to be meeting the headmaster of this school. He hoped his encounter with this authority figure would turn out better than his last, apparently it wasnā€™t polite to knock someone out so they stopped talking. It had seemed like the best course of action at the time. Koshack looked up as they walked, he said to Sophinia as they walked. ā€œIs there any pertinent details I should be made aware of?ā€ Koschack squinted his eyes again and looked at her closely, his mind matched up the name quickly with numerous reports that he had seen and read over his tenure as a researcher. He continued very slowly and unsure of how to continue. ā€œYou are a queen correctā€

Jacob frowned and looked at her a little closer. He wasnā€™t sure what he had said to draw out such a negative reaction. He was a great researcher but it wouldnā€™t take much knowledge to connect the name. He kept walking, stopping only when he was next to her. He said in a matter of fact tone. ā€œI wished to know if I had drawn the right conclusion based on the information presented. What other reason is there to ask a question but for corroboration or the gathering of more information?ā€

Jacob

Jacob stepped in behind Sophinia and into the headmasters room, his eyes scanned the room rather methodically. He didnā€™t see the headmaster, but then again his eyes were more focused on the walls of the room than anything else. He turned easily and closed the door to the room.

Marcus

Marcus couldnā€™t help but laugh a little at Kisa. He moved forward with her hanging on to him and with his arm wrapped around her waist. His eyes took in everything, paying attention to both the people milling around and the school itself. He could hear the announcements going on but he didnā€™t even bother listening really, Kisa was always good for that sort of thing. Marcus couldnā€™t help but smirk as more than a few of the girls gave him second glances, it seemed that something about Unicorns just attracted girls attentions. He winked back at them with a smirk as he whispered to Kisa in a low and sweet voice. ā€œSo you want to put a leash on me? I had no idea that you were that kinky. Besides, donā€™t worry about me. I can take care of myself I thinkā€
