River Wayland's Story

River was headed towards the noise of the battle and noticed a two groups of people the largest of which appeared to walking away so she decided to approach the two people who were closest to her. Heading towards them she announced her presence "Hello, is everything okay, I thought I heard someone being attacked?" Come to think of it the blonde one looked pretty weak, if they had been attacked by bandits it probably wouldn't be smart for her to stick around. Not that she couldn’t take care of herself, she’d just prefer not to get involved in anything that could get her into trouble.

Alexander looked to Wayland with a concerned look. He was worried by his words.

"Wayland you know better then most that I can't stop using mind magics. My Memory Make is mind magic in itself. And i can't take down the Archive. I'll have to deal with it and just hope the answer shows up. I doubt it's life threatening anyways." He said the last sentence with a shaky voice. He wouldn't even convince himself with that last sentence. He was worried.

They were approached by another person from the distance. Alexander found it strange so many people to be here. He nodded to Wayland, more or less ending the conversation.

"Hello, is everything okay, I thought I heard someone being attacked?"

"Uh we were attacked by Thresher. We just got done dealing with it. We were heading to a way point for some rest."

River was shocked, very few people could deal with a Thresher so that had to mean they were either very powerful warriors or magicians. It might be interesting to stick around them for a little while and see which one was true. "Well I hope no one was too badly injured. Um, do you mind if I come with you, I'm headed across the desert to look for work and I would like to restock before my supplies get to low?" Clutching her staff a little closer just in case they decided to attack, she waited for their answer. She hoped they’d agree to let her tag along, it had been a long time since she’d met another group of people and she was safer in a larger group than she was one her own, provided they didn't find out that she was a magician.

Alexander wasn't one tot urn down help.

"Yeah come on, we already have three tag along's. One more won't hurt."

He began the walk towards the rest of the guild. Hoping Wayland and the new person would follow along. He had to hold back the urge to pass out. He popped some more pills, trying to stay up before they could get somewhere he could pass out alone.

River smiled and began to follow the blonde man towards the larger group, "So where are we headed? I didn't think there were any towns near here." She figured it would be a good idea to at least figure out where they were headed so she could know they were in relation to everything else. Keeping half of her attention focused on the blonde her eyes flicked to his companion, she didn't trust these people, then again she didn't really trust anyone, but it never hurt to be careful.

"See that?" Alexander said, pointing to the mesa. "There is an abandoned town on the other side of that mesa. Were heading there to rest."

He saw the new person was edgy. He kept an eye on her. She seemed like she was ready to fight at any moment. That was bad for them. If She attacked he wasn't sure they could win. He readied his takeover magic, ready to strike if need be.

River looked at the mesa, it wasn't that far away if it was necessary she could disappear into the town. "Yes I see it, it shouldn't take us too long to get there should it, and after I restock my supplies I'll be out of your way." She watched the blonde man tense, probably in response to her own actions, it was comforting to know that he recognized her as a threat, she never attacked anyone without reason, but she would prefer to avoid trouble and if that meant having people fear her then so be it.

<I knew it. They're all mages. But why is so many mages around here? Well the guild ones, I can guess, but what about the other ones who came here 'coincidentally'? I don't really care. For now, they are not my enemy. Guess I'll stay on their good side for now.> He look at the others. Though he had always been hiding from the government, he had taught himself to sense mages, although only a meter. "Is that man okay?" He asked while looking back at Wayland and Alexander.

They had caught up with the rest of the group by now. Alexander informed everyone of the new tag along.

Another new one guys. Careful she's edgy.

He heard Tatsuya ask what was up with him. "I'm tired that's all. The fight with the Thresher took a lot out of me." He said this with a smile, hoping to conceal his lie.

They reached a rock where he saw Briar and Kaeden waiting for them. He motioned his head, inviting them to walk with them. He said aloud to everybody, "We got about another half hour people! Work through it! We can almost rest!" The mesa was quite large now. They just had to walk around to the town now.

River was looking around at the other members of the group, they didn't seem likely to hurt her and they definitely didn't look like magicians, maybe they were warriors, or at the very least exceptionally strong humans. "Hi, it's nice to meet you all." Better to be nice, a little bit of fear was good but too much especially in this large group could be dangerous for her.

Aria grinned cheekily at Vince when he suggested she 'own up'. It wasn't like she'd actually been hiding it, exactly, She'd just gotten into the habit of not speaking openly about it.
"I don't see any reason to go blabbing," She replied, stretching her arms up before locking her fingers behind her head, "I hardly come off as a great wizard do I? Also, I like to think I was doing a good job at hiding it, my usual audience doesn't know how to recognise it do they?"
That said she lightly pushed off the ground, using her wind magic to do a small but elegant back flip and land just as lightly on the ground, smiling easily at Vince.
"It's more of a show trick at the moment, isn't it?" She laughed, but her steps were slightly lighter now, practically bouncing off the ground. The others caught up with them and Aria noticed another person with them.
"Hey," she greeted the new girl, "I'm Aria, what's your name?"

River turned to the girl, Aria, "My name is River, would now be a good time to mention I'm Ice Mage, I haven't met any other magicians before but I'm assuming I'm safe here." Quickly scanning the other members of the group she noticed a lacrima mounted on one of their shields, "Nice lacrima by the way." Maybe River would stick around, at least for a little while, it had been a while since she was truly safe.

Alexander was shocked. Another one? Today must have been fate. He laughed out loud.

"4 newbies in one day. Someone likes us."

For the first time all day he felt decent. He was happy. The guild just grew bigger, and that was good for all of them.

Vince was about to tease Aria when he was interrupted by Alexander's laughing, startled, he whispered to Aria "Hey, you think he might have a few screws loose?" gesturing towards Alexander, oh great, he is also talking to himself, yep, definitely crazy. Vince was about to ask Alex a question when he noticed that here was another girl that had joined the group, she had purple hair and a stave, Vince realised that she had also complemented his shield. Vince was intrigued, another elemental mage. He asked the purple haired girl, which he realised was named River and was seriously under-dressed, considering their location- the desert.
"So River, you're an ice mage, care to give us an example?"
Vince had come to the conclusion that since she hadn't fought, she would be happy to demonstrate her magic, did she know that this was an underground mage guild? Well, he was about to find out.

River considered the shield mans proposition and she really couldn't see anything wrong with demonstrating it, if it turned out to be a trap she could probably fight her way out considering they looked pretty weak. "Sure I wouldn't mind creating a small demonstration for you." River made a quick decision to create and eagle and have it fly a few small circles around the group. She muttered under her breath "Ice Make Eagle", she watched her purple eagle fly a few circles around the group before disappearing, "I hope that was enough of a demonstration."

Briar had nearly fallen asleep when the small dots he had been watching grew into larger ones, then even larger, and finally into the people he had been waiting for. He groaned slightly as he rose and stretched. He silently wished they had taken longer as the thought of having to walk some more didn't exactly excite him. Though, he really had no reason to complain. He didn't feel very fatigued at all due to his fast recuperation skills and the rest he took. Compared to Alexander, Briar looked amazing. He wondered at that for a moment as he walked behind the rest of the group. He had used his Desperado on Alexander earlier during their fight with the Thresher in hopes that he wouldn't be so exhausted.

He pushed the thought out of his mind for now. Briar's eyes glanced skyward and spotted the Purple Ice Eagle flying about. His stomach grumbled again as another thought crossed his mind. "I'm hungry again..." He said aloud. The pear he had eaten along with the candy bar and salted cashews he had while he waited for them didn't exactly sate his appetite. The snacks he had on him didn't sound as appealing as a whole meal at that moment so he refrained from pulling another out. He sighed and took another step.

Tatsuya was following the group's pace, when suddenly he felt a presence. He turned at that direction, and saw a man standing there. It was the man who joined the attack on the Thresher. He walked to Alexander, who staggered once in a while, and asked, "That your guild member over there?" He said, in a voice where only he and Alexander can hear.

Alexander looked to the newer person, the one he was wary of, Tatsuya.

"I'll inform all of you at once once we get to where we are going." Ikarugi then invaded his thoughts as well.

We've got some more newbies. Meet us at the fake base we'll let you know there.

He continued leading the others, forcing his way to the front of the group now. They trudged on in relative silence, until they made it to the town. They walked them into the tavern they used as their fake base. Everyone took a seat. The current members acted casually, a few grabbing drinks. The new ones sat down with some tensity. He stood at the bar, leaning against it facing everybody.

"I'm Alexander. And it seems we are all mages. I'm not sure how 4 new mages all seemed to run into us in one day. Perhaps fate. No matter the case, we are lucky. I won't tell you too much about us yet, but we are a special group." He paused. He was bad with speeches, having trouble sticking to one point, and even more trouble conveying his idea.

"To get an idea of who everyone is, lets introduce ourselves. Starting with you Vince. Then Tatsuya. Then wind girl. Then ice girl."

Looking at everyone Ikarugi was certainly unfazed by the new faces and also not amused by their sudden arrival. "Alexander... Who are these people?" looking at them he closed his green eyes and sighed. "I can't wait for my magic to return these eyes aren't as sharp as they should be, nonetheless start introducing yourselves I may not enjoy it but you're here and that's what matters." After saying this he pulled his hood over his face and silently watched the others.

"My friend you need to say something to Kaedan." Sarkonia said through his thoughts, pushing more he continued, "Even more so he didn't just save you from that fall he even got you here before everyone so that you could rest up." Ikarugi pondered this and slowly stood up and walked over to Kaedan. "T-thank you for your help it was nice to know that you have my back." Blushing slightly he walked back to his seat and closed his jacket tightly. "God I feel like an idiot doing that in front of everyone..." he thought as he turned to everyone in attendance. Looking at everyone he called to them and told them to keep their voices down. "My head is pounding from the immediate magic consumption I went through so any amount to help ease my pain would be greatly appreciated." With that said he silently watched them from under his hood and adressed the Archive.

"I don't entirely like the looks of the three newbies excluding Vince. I mean he at least proved himself worthy of my acceptance slightly but that black sword kid just seems... off to me I don't know what it is about him but.... I can't put my finger on it just a gut feeling I suppose. And the two new girls don't seem that bad but then again with girls like Akumu around you can never be too sure. So even if this is like the fifth-teenth time hearing this keep your guard up, I can't do much for magic but I do have my sword on me. Also Briar I'm not sure if you are able to but at the first sense of a threat strike with a shatter or something."

Vince moved in silence following Alexander to a fairly run down looking tavern, he followed the others inside the building, the group members all appeared to be relaxed, a couple of them drinking, a couple of them just looked down right exhausted. Vince was about to sit down but he wasn't fully comfortable, he stood up, unhinged his shield from his back and placed it against the wall he also removed his travelling cloak exposing both of his arms, the right arm had a golden dragon tattoo that started at his shoulder and ran all the way down to his forearm. It had remained hidden by his cloak and Vince generally didn't go around showing people his tattoo, it would have drawn too much attention to himself but if was to appear open to these people he may as well show them everything. Having removed all that was needed Vince leaned against the wall when the leader- Alexander told the newcomers, which included himself, to introduce themselves. Vince sighed, may as well get to it, he stood up off the wall and began to explain.
"Seeing as you want me to start first, The name's Vince, as most of you have seen, I'm primarily an electrical ability-type mage, I assume you all know what that means right? I'm a travelling wizard, a nomad really, I used to travel with my father but, well lets just say things changed. People tend to avoid me because of how big I am, ironically enough I ended up working as a guard for the group of caravans that run through this area, I heard there was a thresher and I had also heard rumours of an undercover mage guild, once I put the two together I headed off towards the beast in the hopes of finding a mage and well... you guys no the rest."
Vince sighed, crossed his arms and went back to leaning against the wall, Vince remembered it would be rude to not consider the others as such he had to ask.
"So any questions? or can we move on to short stuff?" He said as he pointed towards Tatsuya.
