Sylfania

Asa finally got done packing and came back downstairs with a bag. "Now I just have to get my gunblade. There are dangerous beasts in the wild and we don't want to get hurt." Asa said. She went to a closet and got her gunblade out. It was rather large and looked like the perfect hybrid of a long blade and a rifle. "It is powered by magic. It takes years to master the gun part of the weapon. I just have to focus my magical energy on the blade and ammo as well as power will materialize in the blade. The strongest users can blast huge holes into monsters while beginners mostly are simply able to wound smaller beast like wild dogs or sabre panthers. My skill has become considerable but I can't match the pros yet." Asa said to Tobias. "Are you ready? It will be about a two hour ride to the ferry and then a couple hours over to the next island."

Tobias saw Asa return downstairs with a bag, but then she said she was going to get a gunblade which made him go, "Wait what?" And soon after she returned with something that looked like a hybrid of a sword and rifle. She explained how the weapon worked and how long it took to master it but he was more taken back that magic exists in the work and that they need weapons like that to wound monsters, now he was surprised that monsters exist in the world.

At this point she could say that there are dragons driving tanks or even a three headed T-Rex and with that he then realized that he might even get back home without becoming some monsters chew toy. He stopped thinking after Asa asked if he was ready and his reply was, "I am as ready as I will ever be!" He then jumped off the seat he was sitting on and stood up straight.

Asa then went down to the scooter with Tobias and they started their journey. Not even an hour into their ride, there was a problem: A traffic jam. It wasn't even moving forward. Asa turned on the radio to see what was the cause. "...I repeat, there is a class II golem on highway 3. Please take distance until a hunter deals with it!" The reporter on the radio said. Asa then said: "I guess I will have to take care of it because who knows how long until someone else takes care of it. Wait here, I don't want you getting hurt." She took the gunblade and made her way to the front of the traffic jam.

Further up front there were two totalled vehicles and a golem angrily growling. It was a stone golem probably 25 feet in height. "Oh boy, that is a big class II. I was hoping to use the blade but it has a hard exterior." Asa said and pointed the gunblade at the monster. The gunblade began to charge and a light blue light came from within the barrel. Once she pulled the trigger, there was a loud deep bang and a shockwave that could be felt all the way back to the scooter. Even the windows on the frontmost vehicles shattered. The golem however blew up in a cloud of rocks, blood and dust. "Oops." Asa said. The rocks rained down on the cars. Luckily no one was injured. The only problem was that nearby and even larger golem appeared, probably the size of a small mountain.

A separate team of hunters appeared. "Looks like you only took out a child or a grunt. Now we got a class four on our hands. Since you though it would be a nice idea to blow up a golem instead of simply taking it out, you will have to provide assistance with this one." The team leader said. Asa then replied: "Sorry, I hadn't wielded it in quite a while. I also tried to make an effort not to overdo it." "Well don't blow this one up then. The results would be catastrophic. Now try to shoot it while we try to climb it to get its weak spot." The team leader said. The team started to run towards the golem. Meanwhile, Asa took aim. "Okay, a little more power but don't break your shoulder." She said to herself. A loud bang echoed in the area. It was lick thunder. The shockwave was visible this time as it had enough force to produce some condensation in the air. The impact on the golem was visible as it was knocked back a tiny bit. The damage however was minimal. "Aww, come on." Asa wanted to show what she was made of but didn't want to get in trouble by making it rain house sized boulders. A little more should maybe do the trick. The team leader tried to signal her to stop as he noticed that she might try to take kill it herself. But she didn't see him and a second louder bang rang through the area. It knocked Asa off her feet. It even seemed as if the vehicles nearby jumped a bit. The golem fell backwards, even though the shot only cracked it's shell. It landed on it's back and the ground shook in a miniture earthquake. The team leader breathed in relief as she didn't overdo it. The team climbed the golem and just as the golem was about to get back up, one of the team members did a piercing shot, killing the golem.

Asa waved Tobias over to show that it was safe now. The team leader started moving back over to Asa as if he wanted to talk to her.

It was less then an hour and they suddenly got into a traffic jam, it seems even in this world traffic jams are still a thing and the worse part about it was that the cars wernt moving forward. Asa turned on the radio and Tobias overheard what the person behind the radio was speaking and after hearing the words golem on the highway he suddenly got worried.

Asa on the other hand told him to wait at the scooter and grabbed her gunblade before making Her way to the front of the traffic jam. In his mind he was thinking if it was a good idea to go on this journey, I mean he heard of golems from some of his colleagues in college but seeing one in real life was just---his thoughts were interrupted as he felt a deep shockwave and in the distance saw peices of Rock raining down. At first he thought it was safe but even at a distance he saw a giant rock thing the size of a small mountain appear which made him jump of the scooter and let out a startled scream.

He watched the golem until he saw something shoot at it but it looked like nothing was happening to the golem but afterwards another shot rung out and he swore he saw some cars jumped a bit but what was even more amazing was the golem fell backwards damaged by the attack, he cheered for whoever did that but after the golem hit the ground he fell flat on the ground after it caused a miniature earthquake which messed up his balance.

As he got back on his feet he saw Asa waving at him signaling the coast was clear and gave a sigh of relif, "What did I get myself into?" He muttered before giving a thumbs up.

Asa walked over to Tobias and said: "Well that's over. I haven't used the gunblade in a while so I may have overdid it on the first golem. Luckily the rescue team arrived to take care of the second one." Suddenly the team leader walked over to them and said: "After you blew up the first golem, I had expected you to blast a big hole in the second, but you didn't use ordinary ammo on the second shot, did you? The force was there but the damage was little." "Well the second shot I materialized a shock absorbant round, sort of like a rubber bullet, however a rubber bullet would have burnt up at half the distance at that velocity." Asa said. The team leader paused and then said: "Interesting, most squirts only can materialize one kind of bullet. Have you thought about joining the force as an active member? We could use a sniper of your skill."

Asa shook her head. "I am only in reserve. I doubt you offer a part time position that pays the money I get as a programmer, plus I have to get this guy to the other side of the nation, he doesn't seem to be from here." "Well, if you think 19k a month for part time is little, then I guess we will have to find someone else." The team leader said. As the man said 19k, her eyes lit up, you could literally see currency signs in her pupils.

"19k where do I sign up? Well I will get back to you when I am done with my mission." Asa said.

(This post gave me another RP idea. I think I will make like a parallel story RP about slaying monsters in this realm.)

When Asa explained that she haven't used the gunblade in a while he was amazed she could do that, "Well I thought it was amazing! I mean for you it was probaly another day at the job but seeing you blow one up into prices and blasting another one causing it to fall was awsome!" He then gave her a hearty smile and a thumbs up.

He then noticed someone walking over to them and he immediately calmed himself, he was not certain if they found out he was from another world he would meet the same fate as the golem but thankfully Asa explained that she was just just escorting him to the other side of the nation which served to calm him down. After they had finished talking he decided to speak up, "I have to say you all were amazing in that fight!" He spoke with his ethusiastic attitude again.

(I say do what you want, I mean it sounds like it will be a lot of action)

"Well it was nothing." Asa said blushing. The team leader then said: "We were just doing our job. We rarely see a class four nowadays, but during the war there used to be class fives and class sixes. The class fives are gigantic and class sixes are mostly the size of small islands but can be as small as humans. The class system is mostly just a measure of power. Luckily class sixes don't exist anymore. We don't want walking WMDs around here." He then turned to Asa. "By the way, I hadn't gotten your name." "Asaleia Ygnissa os Myzysyllfania." Asa replied. The team leader's eyes widened: "Then you must be the granddaughter of Arbos os Myzysyllfania, also known as the god slayer during the war. He nearly died killing a class six and spent the rest of his days in a wheelchair because of the injuries he had sustained. Don't tell me he gave you Ymir." "This is it. The weapon he nearly broke with an enormous magic flow. But if you may excuse us. We are running behind schedule." Asa said and boarded the scooter.

She waited for Tobias to get on before riding off. She hurried her way to the port and they made it to the ferry just minutes before it left. "That was close." Asa said. "But where we are on the ferry, I would like to ask: Why wouldn't you want to stay here? Do you have family that you really love or is there something else that binds you to your home world?"

Tobias now learned a bit more about this world and Asa. Thankully if they said that class four monsters are rarely seen and that class six monsters are non-existent their journey should be relatively safe, of course he now knew that his traveling companion was a daughter of a pretty awsome sounding guy if his name was called god slayer.

After their conversation Asa boarded her scooter and he followed behind her. She was in a hurry to her destination and they arrived at a ferry just a few minutes before it left. As he took some time to relax Asa asked him why wouldent he want to stay here and his response was, "Well it's not like I don't want to stay here, it's just that one: I prefer to live a long life and not happen to run into a golem while I am taking a leisurely stroll in the woods, and two: I don't want my freinds and family to not know what has happened to me, I mean if someone close to you or one of your family members dissapeared without telling you and never returned, how would you feel?"

Asa listened to Tobias and said: "Well I barely see my family anyways. My grandfather raised me, taught me and trained me. Sadly, he passed aways a couple of years ago. So if my parents were suddenly gone, I would probably be unmoved because I barely knew them anyways." It may have been cold but she was honest about it. If here parents were never there for her why should she be there for them? The ferry was far out in the sea by now, only the outlines of the destination island was visible. It would probably be another two or three hours until they would reach the next island.

The mood was now very awkward for Tobias after hearing that Asa wouldent have cared if her family disappeared. After a few moments of silence he decided to try to lighten the mood, "Well anyways! Let me tell you something about myself this time. Back in college, I was one of those kids that tried everything to get a girlfriend. I tried everything to get a girl to be with me, but it turns out every one of them took advantage of my kindness..." Smooth moves, it felt like the mood was getting more depressing and he decided to say anything that might be positive, "Well...um...do you like dogs?"

The way Tobias began to speak sort of sounded like he was trying to flatter her. Her sole intention of going on a journey with him was to hope he would stay with her. He seemed to get awfully scrambled as he seemed to be embarassed of what he had said. Asa then said: "I am not an animal person, the most I had to do with dogs is kill wild dogs to protect people. But I see you wanted to get a girlfriend? But you were just used? Then my question would be, do you like me? I wouldn't use you. I pretty much was afraid that guys would use me because I have money." Asa said getting closer to him, probably even an uncomfortable distance.

(Just gotta hope she isn't the kind that would actively try to prevent him from leaving.)

Tobias felt his heart cringe when Asa told him she killed wild dogs but for a good reason. She then asked him one question that almost caused him to jump, and that question was if he liked her and she made it more clear that she was a person who would not betray his trust. He looked at her as she got closer to him and found it a little more harder to think straight, a few seconds passed and he decided to say what he really felt about her, "To tell you the truth, yes I like you. Your cute, beautiful, nice, and you are also awsome. I would totally go out with you if it wasn't for me wanting to go back so no one back home worried about me, but then I would then worry about you..." He then placed a hand on his forehead before sighing, "Jeeze...if only the portal could have been a door, I could go back and tell them I'm alright and then come back here to hang out with you..."

(Just gotta hope that his brain dosent blow up from all the internal conflict he is going to suffer through)

The ferry moved on as planned with a few minor incidents with smaller sea creatures. But after a couple hours they made it to the next island with was covered by dense woods. They had actually arrived 20 minutes ahead of schedule. They however still had to cross this island and make it to the next where the portal was supposed to be. Luckily this island had a highway, so they didn't need to ride through the wilderness where they would be certain to run into wild animals. Asa was hoping that Tobias would along the journey decide to stay with her, even if he just wanted to contact his family and friends so they wouldn't worry. "Should we rent a room to have some rest or did you get enough rest on the ferry?" Asa asked. "Otherwise we could just find a place to eat something and then continue on."

Upon reaching the island Asa asked Tobias if they should rent a room to have some rest but being on a ferry for a few hours his response was, "I should be the one asking you all these questions since you are doing all the work, but regardless I am well rested." Tobias reached into his pocket and felt something, sure he did had his wallet but he also felt something metallic and pulled it out. It was his cell phone that he had always kept on him, although it was probably useless in calling someone from where he was but at least he could take some pictures. "Hey Asa, is there a thing such as a cellphone is your world." He asked

"Hey Asa, is there a thing such as a cellphone in your world?" Tobias asked Asa. Asa then responded: "We have mobile phones here but yours looks a bit low tech for our standards." Asa took out her phone and a hologram appeared above it. "Our phones, like our weapons, require magic to be used. They work as long as you have enough magical power to use them or if someone offers magic to power it." Asa began to rev her scooter. "But how about we go and look for a place to eat before we continue?"

As Asa showed Tobias her phone, he looked at his cellphone then looked at her phone that had a hologram above it. He did this a couple of times before Asa reminded him about going someplace to eat and then pocketed his phone. "Oh yeah! Sure lets go find some place to eat before we go on our journey." He replied in his enthusiastic tone trying to froget how amazing her phone was compared to his phone but there was one thing he was piecing together, and that was that this world has magic. He thought it would be cool to learn a spell or two to show his freinds but he probaly won't be able to use it due to different world rules or something like that.

Tobias and Asa went into town and there was a nice restaurant there with a nice deal of variety. Asa then said: "Let's eat here. Don't worry. Choose anything. It goes on my tab!" Asa chose a roasted filet with veggies and a sweet drink. The view from the restaurant was gorgeous as they could see the sea and the clear skies on this coastline. Out on the sea there were ships slowly moving by and some fast boats too. It seemed to be more traffic than on Earth though as boats where an important mode of transportation in Sylfania.

Tobias felt guilty as Asa let him choose anything on the menu, but his gut argued with him and he ended up choosing the cheapest thing on the menu which was a hamburger with fries and a fizzy drink. As he looked outside the restraunt the view was extrodinary as he could see the clear skies on the coastline and watched the ships both fast and slow moving along, "This world sure is beautiful." Tobias spoke as he looked at the coastline, he would have never seen anything this beautiful back home in the city he lived in. He took out his phone and took a picture of this wonderful view, he thought it would be a shame for him to froget this moment.

As Asa finished her food, she said: "Well we will have to get to the other end of the island to catch the ferry to our destination island, so that we can see if you can get back to your world. In the meantime, I told my boss about the new position with the guard and he took it rather lightly wishing me good luck and that I will be missed. Now I just need to get changed and then we can continue on our journey." Soon Asa disappeared into a backroom and Asa changed to puffy beige shorts, a brown sleeveless buttoned collared blouse, a white lace arm brace on each upper arm and a white lace choker. She undid her hair so that it would be open. She then came back out of the room and said: "You ready?"

Tobias was almost finished with his food as Asa began to speak. She told him that they would have to go to the other end of the island, and she also told him that she talked to her boss about her new position with the whole guard thing. She then left to go change which gave him enough time to finish the last of his food and to take a moment to stretch. When Asa returned, he stared right at her. Maybe it was because her hair was undone or maybe it was her new choice of clothing, he was then brought back to reality with Asa asking him if he was ready and his response was, "I am ready!"
