Devin can be described as a broken young man, someone who has given up hope, and is completely consumed by revenge. He is a angry young man who has been tempered by the brutal, unforgiving environment that is Neverland. He is a product of his surroundings. He is very ill tempered, and has a rather short fuse. It doesn't take too much to set him off. But if he explodes at someone he cares about, he's quick to apologize, and make amends. His temperment has really gotten worse over the years due to the sheer amount of loss that he has dealt with.
He is highly driven, and stubborn. He is completely obsessed with getting his long awaited revenge against Peter Pan for killing the one he loved, Wendy. He will stop at nothing to destroy Pan. To him you are either with Pan, or against him. There is no middle ground. He has had struggles with depression, and is rather emotionally unstable. If not for his quest for revenge, he's most likely have killed himself so very long ago. Indeed, Pan gives him a reason to live. He can be rather bullheaded, and will never give up on going after what he wants, and as a rather single-minded determination to him.
Despite his rather serious, and to-the-point attitude he can be somewhat sarcastic, and has a rather dry wit to him. He's rather old, and his home has been long forgotten. But it was somewhere in Scotland.
{H I S T O R Y}
Much of Devin's history is forgotten. Though he's lived for a very, very long time thanks to Neverland, he doesn't exactly remember it all. Much like the memories you forget as you grow older, he forgot his life outside of Neverland. Devin was from a small village in the Middle Ages before he was taken to Neverland. In fact, he was among the first. Most of the village's children in fact would go on to become the first Lost Boys. Pan came in the middle of the night, playing a pan flute that drawed boys that felt unwanted, unloved, lost. Devin was one of those boys, and was among the first to set foot in Neverland.
In the following centuries Devin became the most loyal, and strongest of the Lost Boys. He became Pan's second-in-command of sorts. He led the boys while Pan was away gathering more, and more Lost Boys. At first, Devin was a little apprehensive at Pan bringing more Lost Boys to Neverland, but he was still loyal to Pan, and so he kept these doubts hidden deep down.
When the Jolly Roger came to Neverland, it was a surprise. Devin hadn't seen an adult in a very, very long time. He was fasinated by them. He would sneak off at night, when the Lost Boys were asleep, and watch them. He eventually met with Hook, and he began teaching him how to fight, how to sail, and other such things. Treating him almost like a son. It was through Devin that Hook learned what Pan was truly like, and thus he was the cause of the Lost Boys-Jolly Roger war.
Despite his liking of Hook, Devin still choose to side with Pan, as Pan was like a brother to him, and he to him. The war was long, and bloody. Despite the pirates intentions of freeing the Lost Boys of Pan's grip, they were forced to battle them. Moral for the Lost Boys was dwindling, they had seen so many of their brothers fall. They were beginning to lose hope, they were beginning to no longer believe in Pan.
So it was then that Pan decided they needed something more to fight for. He found a girl, Wendy Darling. She was kind, smart, and strong. He knew she'd make an excellent mother for the Lost Boys. So as with all things, what Pan wants, he gets. So he brought Wendy to Neverland to look after the Lost Boys, and give them someone to protect. And it worked rather well. The Lost Boys fought even harder to protect their Wendy.
It worked a little bit too well for Devin. He, and Wendy soon fell in love together. But what neither knew, was that Pan felt the same way towards her. In the final days of the war with Hook they stormed the Jolly Roger, and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. They took Hook, and the surviving members of his crew back to camp. Once there Pan ordered for Devin to execute the pirates. Devin hesitated, not really wanting to kill his friend. So in his moment of weakness Pan killed the pirates himself.
This devestated Wendy, she had never seen any of them act so brutally, and without mercy. She changed after this, and became more closed off from everyone, even from Devin. Eventually she opened back up to Devin, and began putting doubt in his mind about Pan. She made him realize what Pan ws truly like, and believed he could defeat Pan. At first he was hesitant. He couldn't fight his brother, his leader. But with Wendy by his side, he decided that she knew what was best.
But Pan was already ahead of them. Enraged by their betrayel, Pan attacked Devin, but Wendy pushed him out of the way, and was killed by Pan. This greatly hurt both Devin, and Pan, who blamed each other for her death. That was when Devin rebelled. He got several other like minded Lost Boys, and formed the Lost Ones. They fought Pan for many, many years. But Pan was very powerful, too powerful for them to defeat despite their best efforts. Eventually Devin was the only Lost One left.
He's lost hope in defeating Pan, and escaping Neverland. So he now is biding his time until the right moment to kill Pan. That moment might have arrived along with the arrival of a new Wendy.
