If one word can come to mind when gazing upon the figure of the castaway ninja, it would be perfect. Not in the beauty sense, since many scars run up and down his body, tainting it's complexion. But in a health-sense, this would be true. For muscle definition is easily seen, and there does not appear to be any sort of unneeded body-fat hidden anywhere on him. He stands at a healthy height, and he weighs a bit more than some due to his aforementioned muscle, giving him a stature of someone who could intimidate you simply by looking down on you. And this is all able to be told through his outfit, which only makes it scarier.

Most would come to think he hopped right out of some ninja-storybook, with the way his armor appears. The navy-blue outfit, complete with a face mask and traditional designs have you immediately thinking 'ninja' within the first glance of him, even if his suit doesn't come across as 'quiet'. But, that assumption would be true, since Ken doesn't rely on the shadows during fights, unless such is absolutely necessary, or beneficial in some way. When in uniform, he's typically out of place no matter what the location is.

Strange enough, considering all that he is and appears, Ken does not ever usually give off the sort of intimidation you'd expect him to give, with the exception to this rule being his genuine anger. He actually does show his face, and he does smile, and he does a lot of the stuff that one would never expect a ninja to do. Ken has longer black hair, emerald green eyes (that shine golden when he's fighting), and carries with him a demeanor nobody quite understands from him. He's more than he appears, but nothing less.

Abilities:

Mental Immunity - One of the base mental teachings his clan was given, Ken is immune to any and all forms of mental interference, whether that be mind-control/reading, Empathy, or other.

Ki Manipulation - Taught to manipulate the hidden power within, Ken possesses the ability to manipulate his Ki energy. So far, he is able to add a bit of extra 'oomph' to his attacks, or form temporary shields on himself or his allies.

Teleportation - By all looks and appearances, Ken teleports. However, such is not the case. Ken is, to a degree, able to move at speeds unseen to the human eye, allowing him to appear where he pleases within seconds. He does require a two-second focus time before doing so, and cannot simply continue like that for extended duration.

Skills:

Martial Arts (Mastery) - Ken doesn't just throw punches; he launches them. He is at his most dangerous at close range, and is an expert at hand-to-hand combat, able to throw precise punches, accurate kicks, and devastating attacks with little effort.

Sword Master (Expert) - When Ken does bring himself to use a weapon - he uses his blades. Compared to his hand-to-hand abilities, he's a bit less skilled, but easily more deadly.

Staring Contests - Some of the training Ken went through was odd, but each thing had its purpose. Ken is able, if willed, to stare straight without blinking for at least two days (which would be considered lacking to his clan).

Hiding - Now, if Ken wants to disappear, he can. If there's a shadow and he steps into it, you're unlikely to find him until he wants you to. Of course, he would be a master of hiding as he is in fact a ninja, but he always had an odd personality for a ninja anyways, and doesn't rely on the shadows too much.

Weaknesses:

Teleportation - Because he is not actually teleporting, Ken would not be able to simply teleport out of a room, and is able to be confined, if you can catch him.

Technology - Ken knows how to use a TV (somewhat) as well as some of the basic household items like it, however, he is mostly unaware of how to operate computers, cell phones and most anything else.

Breakdowns - Essentially, everything that makes Ken who he is is based solely on a sound mindset. If, somehow, someone were able to cause him to go into a depression or mentally shatter him, then he'd be unable to use his abilities until he returned to his calm state of mind. Secretly, this happens quite often, at night, due to personal reasons.

Personality:

Ken can be described in a multitude of different ways. For he, although born to be, is not really a ninja any longer, only holding on to a title he is no longer worthy. You see, Ken does not act like the rest of his clan, for the most part, which is why many are confused when first they meet him. He is nice, caring and sometimes even funny, in contrast to expectations. While he should bow, be silent, and speak only when necessary, he instead talks casual (in a sense) and does so when he decides to, hoping not to be left out of anything if possible. If he wills it, you'll never see the 'ninja' part of him while talking to him, unless you look quite deeply.

He was trained.... well, for a lot of things. Combat, scouting, resilience and speed are only a few of the many things he was taught. And, considering the fact that he did pick up on these things, he shouldn't act the way he does - like a person. He enjoys helping others if need be, or preventing catastrophes in the form of a bank-robbery gone wrong, or a home invasion. "Good" is the moral alignment in which he considers himself, not "neutral", to which his clan would be considered. Ken dislikes any talk about innocent deaths being necessary, and actively works against such a thought. He, willingly, puts himself and his pride as a member of his clan after the lives of some innocents who have been attacked by someone, be it a supervillain or a common thug. Because unlike his former friends and family, he does not do "As balance dictates", but follows his heart to what is right and wrong.

If you want a basic summary of how Ken will act, it's simply: Nice to those who deserve it, aggressive towards those who would harm the innocent, and crack the occasional mostly-subtle joke. He is one to get along with others, and does try to earn enemies or dislike to himself, and prefers to avoid such things. As a hero, he has the correct traits and mindset to be called such.

Likes: Peace, Meditation, exercise

Dislikes: Violence, murder, Reality-TV

Equipment:

Ken's Armor - His ninja-suit. It provides decent protection from attacks of all kinds, especially in the torso area.

Dual Katanas - The two blades he keeps on his back, when in uniform. Often, he uses his ki to instead inflict blunt damage, rather than actually cutting people, since he prefers to avoid fatalities.

History:

Hidden in relative proximity to Jump City is the Blades of Balance, a clan of ninjas who believe that the world should be held together by the balance of both good and evil. It is there where Ken was born, the son of the master of the clan. From a young age, he began his extreme training instead of playing, like normal boys and girls often do. And, as expected, he soon rose to the top of his classes as he grew, becoming the warrior that his father wanted him to be. However, when he became a teen, and formed his own ideas, things started to take an undesirable turn, for him and for his father. And maybe even for the clan itself.

Because the clan was taught that both good and evil were necessary for the balance to be withheld, and that was something Ken never quite agreed with. He, oftentimes, began to get punished when he spoke his opinion on the matter, told that such thinking was forbidden, for it only shifted the scale towards one end. Even to this day, he is unsure as to why they feared the scale of life shifting towards good. But such punishments got more severe over time, and this only served to fuel Ken's fire - He could not believe that when there was time of peace, that starting some kind of criminal activity from behind the scenes was in any way helping anything. So, he continued to speak out, hoping for his words to reach someone's ears... but to no avail. And soon, he became a problem for the clan. If he was going to think like that, then surely he would not be helping the clan keep the balance, and surely, he was of no use to them.

If he hadn't already realized that instead of being cast out, they were going to kill him, then he might not be here today, but he is no fool. He used the very same teachings they gave him to escape them, fleeing to Jump City, where maybe he could make a difference.

By the time his seventeenth birthday would come to pass, he had used his abilities to interfere with his clan's operations. He had used them to stop murders, robberies, accidents, even. Hell, he even met some crazy woman who had a heart of gold, so life couldn't be too bad, right? And one day, he received a letter asking him to be a part of a clan that would do the same... how could he resist?

Extras: Ken sleeps where nobody can find him.

So begins...

3rd person post getting everyone on the same page, if I godmod a little, I'm sorry and just let me know I'll change anything you don't like to how you would want it to have happened.

Page knocked on Monica'sThe computer on Monica's desk started to beep, it sounded different than the alert from before, more like a phone ringing. She and Page walked over to it and Monica clicked it on, Nightwing's face appeared on the screen.

While this was happening the other's were all enjoying their waffles when the television began to beep in the same way Monica's computer did, (in fact all of the computer's were going off, but no one was in their rooms to hear them). Nightwing's face appears when Kelsier walks over and answers the alert.

On both screens Nightwing's face appears, and a recorded message plays, "Hello Titans, I'm sorry to bother you so soon after leaving you the tower, but Cyborg has just informed me that Titan's East is having some serious trouble in New York. Lexine's abilities are needed to help them with a few nasty villains. Two members of their team will be transferred to yours. One is a Ninja who has been working by himself just outside of Jump City for some time now, he actually wasn't due to report to Titans East until next week, but he has been informed to report early to your location. His name is Ken. Arriving with him is a genius mechanic by the name of Izzy, she met up with Ken on her journey here from Titans East headquarters. They should be arriving shortly please make them feel at home, they are a part of your team now. As for Lexine, a jet should be waiting just outside the front door. It will take her to Titans East. I'm so sorry to have introduced you to your team, only to break it apart, but sometimes sacrifices have to be made, as heroes there will be times when you need to make great sacrifices for people you don't know, but I know I can trust all of you to make those sacrifices." As the recording ends Lexine says her goodbyes to everyone on the main floor, already broken up to have to say goodbye to everyone. She walks up the stairs, with the intention of saying goodbye to Page.

Monica doesn't say anything after the recording finished. Secretly she wished Lexine could stay, the girl was nice and actually recognized Monica's existence, although she didn't know either of them, she didn't think a mechanic or ninja would want to be friends with her. Page was unable to sit there in silence "Well let's go down stairs to welcome our new friends. Plus we gotta say goodbye to Lexine, I really hope we can visit her soon." He said grabbing Monica's hand and dragging her out of her room and into the hallway where they ran into Lexine. In the hallway they exchanged their goodbyes, both Page and Lexine were visibly upset that she was leaving, but Page assured her that if this is what Nightwing and Cyborg thought was the best decision, it must be important. Monica didn't say much but she did wish Lexine well, and say that she hoped everything worked out.

Monica, Page and Lexine descended the stairs together, meeting up with the rest of the Titans where they all said goodbye to Lexine once more. They watched out the large glass window/wall in the living room as her jet left, heading off to the East. "Well I better make more waffles if we have more people coming!" Page exclaimed heading back into the kitchen and began preparing more waffles. The door alert sounded and when Kelsier answered it an image of two people appeared on the screen.

Once Monica, Page and Lexine arrived in the living room. "Well you all heard Nightwing. Lexine will be transferring to Titan's East." He looked around at all of his new friends. "And while I hate to see you go Nightwing is right. If you'll be better in Titan's East then that's where you should be. Don't forget us and if you ever need help don't be afraid to give us a shout. We'll come as quickly as we can." He offered her a smile as the rest of the Titan's said their goodbyes. Shortly after her jet flew off into the distance the door alarm buzzed and the communication screen Showed the face of two apparent teenagers. He walked over to the screen and pressed the communication button. "Please state your names and present your communicators." After a few moments the pair offered their names and showed their communicators. "Thank you." He pressed the button to allow the pair into the tower. After a few minutes they joined the group in the living room. "Let me be the first to welcome the two of you. I am Kelsier the leader of the Jump City Titans. My abilities are matter absorption. I can take any material and absorb it to my body giving me increased strength and durability comparable to the material absorbed. I'm also a master of the Wu Shu martial art. Your rooms will be taken care of shortly." Before the other Titans could jump in Timcampy squeaked. "Oh and this is Timcampy he's happy to meet you aswell." As the rest of the Titans introduced themselves Kelsier began cleaning up the waffle mess.

Once the introductions were finished Kelsier stood and addressed his team. "Alright everyone. We're going to go work on the Training Course. Ken and Izzy you are welcome to go through the training course with us. I understand if you don't want to go though but I do ask that you come to watch everyone who does go through so you can learn about your team's powers. Page I think you wanted to practice boosting those who went through it correct?"

Page was... devastated, to say the least. Not only was Lexine going off somewhere new, where he wouldn't be, waffle time was interrupted. This was a travesty of justice. Though he had quickly made a whole bunch of new, fresh waffles in preparation for the newcomers, it didn't feel right. Lexine was here, and then gone so fast. It was really sad. Despite his sadness, Page knew that if this is what Nightwing and Cyborg had in mind, it was easily the best decision and he shouldn't question it. Page must have hugged Lexine a dozen times before she left, but as he finally watched her fly off into the distance, he knew she'd be ok. It was all for the best. She was a strong little girl, and she would be ok without him watching after her.

"Welp, now that that's taken care of, I suppose we should move forward. After all, we're titans now." Page said confidently, so..." Page was interrupted by the doorbell as Lexine's two replacements presented their communicators and arrived at Titan's Tower. "Cool! Nice to meet you dudes, and welcome to Titan's Tower. I'm Page, or Chord, whatever's easier." He said, after Kelsier had introduced himself. "I'm not the one with the powers, it's my guitar." Page began. "My guitar can do lots of things, depending how I play. I've got five settings, each with a different purpose. I can heal, boost your strength, shoot sound bullets, play regular music, and the last one combines all three 'powers' into a big one that will super boost ya. Only problem is, it's crazy hard, I can only do it for so long. Hopefully, I can get stronger and it'll last longer." Page finished explaining with a smile, offering his hand to shake for both of the newcomers, though the girl Izzy appeared to not wish to shake his hand.

Finally, after everyone introduced themselves, and Kelsier explained what was going on, Page spoke up. "Yeah! I'd love to run everyone through the simulators while giving them a boost. It might get kinda hard on me so bear with me, as I can only play so much, but whoever wants to can go right ahead, and we can all get started. I'd hate to have us respond to an emergency and not have any of you be used to my powers. Further, if anyone gets hurt, I can switch settings and patch ya right up. Should be lots of fun." Page explained, again, his wide and bright smile showing for all to see. Though he'd be missing Lexine, he had lots of other friends to hang out with now, and Lexine would too. She wouldn't be lonely. "I've got lots of waffles to eat, so if you guys are hungry after we do the course, there's plenty to eat." Page said, as he began walking over to the door that led outside to the training course. "Come on guys! Let's go!" Page exclaimed.

With a smile on her face, Izzy, and her little dog too, trotted across the island they had arrived on. Though it wasn't just them, there was that Ken fellow. Ninja guy, pretty weird, liked to joke about this and that – Great company altogether. It was a good thing that she'd know at least one member of the group. Izzy did not do well with strangers, ooh how she could only guess what those inside were going think of her.

“Woah! Too cool!” The tiny mechanic exclaimed as she raised a single finger at the gigantic 'T' appearing above the fog. Oooh, now I get to tear apart another T. Went the little gears in her mind.

“IIIIIEEEEEEE!” The girl let out a squeal with an unnatural amount of excitement, tiny feet clothed in heavy worker's boots making a quick dash for the large entrance – Bucket, her mechanical pet dog, following close behind.

“Bang, bang! Helloooo...?” A fist rapidly hammered on the door. No response.

She pondered a moment, a single finger resting on her lips.

Oh wait – Ring, ring! That's it!

A slender, pale finger forcefully pressed the buzzer on the comm.

“Please state your names and present your communicators.”

“Eh?” The pinky-girl's head cocked sideways, swaying back to her fellow arrival who had managed to catch up with her. “It's talking! It's talking to me, Kenny-pup!” She exclaimed in her usual hyper tone, a single arm flailing up and down that would have to pass as a greeting wave.

“Ahoy! Izzy-girl, aboard! Here to assistinate you!” A single hand rummaged through the insane amount of satchels, bags and what have you to find that supposed communicator. “Bingo!” Her hand flashed In front of the comm, shaking the weird round-y-thing before it was confirmed they were allowed in.

“Thank you.”

Came the reply, the large doors opening ever so slowly as the two new arrivals were given safe passage. “Sweetcakes! Let's go, Bucket!” The girl grinned, nudging her pet with the tip of her feet before running after the silent metal bot.

Not too long after that endeavour, Izzy found herself being greeted by the band of soon-to-be fellow partners in crime superhero stuff.

Their leader was the first to introduce himself along with some Booorriiiing! stuff about powers. Like, that totally wasn't going to matter. Actions speak louder than words, even if Izzy was the loudest with words. “Cool.” The little mechanic muttered sarcastically. “Izzy, also called Rusty Angel. Now where's the welcome cake? There was gonna be cake, right? Like, I expected that, like, totally!”

When Kelsier stopped his ranting, a wee-little creature, who was introduced as Timcampy, dropped in to say hi – Though why it initially caught Izzy's attention was how Bucket reacted towards the little flying-thing. Bouncing around it with sheer joy, the dog wagged its tail.

“Awww~ He's so adorable. Bucket likes him. Doesn't he, boy?” A grin flashed in the general direction of the mechanical dog, who barked loudly in response.

Next, came a guy with flaming red hair. What?! Totally stealing my colourful spotlight of bright hair colour! And again with the brouhahas on powers and stuff. “Hi! Izzy, but I already said that a million times by now. Heehee~” The girl grinned widely, though immediately backed away when the boy offered a handshake.

“Nu-uh! No touching the hands, or feet, or anything!” She commented with a stern look, however short lived said expression was.

After all introductions were said and done, Izzy opted to, surprisingly, not do the training course. Something told her that watching was way, waaaay more entertaining.

“Woah! Too cool!”

And so, she had more things to jump about over. Ken, who was wearing his suit with the exception of his mask, which was put away at the moment, walked calm and steady, much in contrast to the giddy girl besides him. He had gotten used to her sudden explosions of excitement, so when she suddenly started off about the Titan Tower, he hadn't flinched in the slightest. Then again, he never did.

He only took paced steps as Izzy sprinted to get to the front door, halting to a stop just before it as Izzy pressed a button and a voice came through the speakers. “Please state your names and present your communicators.” it requested. Predictably, Izzy gave it more than just what it asked. Tone-wise, at least. Ken, however, remained calm. "Izzy, would you give them a chance to breathe?" he asked, knowing such a request was in vain. He turned to face the door, presenting his communicator to it and speaking clearly, one word. "Ken."

“Thank you.”

The large doors opened slowly after the voice came through. Ken was the last thing to enter the Titan Tower, after the girl and her mechanical dog. Again, he didn't seem anywhere near as excited as Izzy did, but personally, Ken wondered if it was even possible to match her excitement in the first place.

Probably not.

"Let me be the first to welcome the two of you. I am Kelsier the leader of the Jump City Titans."

So began the apparent 'leader' of the Titans. Ken was perfectly quiet and respectful as he spoke, not interrupting him with any comments whatsoever until he had finished speaking, to which Ken simply said, "My thanks, Kelsier. I am Ken, and I look forward to protecting the city with you and the rest." he gave a courteous bow for the rest of the team, before looking at... the thing. It flew, and apparently had the name Timcampy. Something about it... annoyed him. But nobody would be able to tell given his perfect poker face he wore at the moment. More importantly, he had to listen to another ally give them a rundown about his own abilities, which actually happened to be his guitar's.

So, that meant his weapon gave him power.

Maybe it was because Ken was not entirely used to working with other people yet, but he disliked the thought of outright stating his own abilities. In his old clan, there were things that he shared with others, and things he did not. For instance, it was common for each and everyone in his clan to be able to keep a single expression no matter what the situation, or block mental interference, but only Ken was ever able to manipulate his Ki to create shields. You see, he was only ever taught how control his Ki, not how to manipulate it. Nobody ever was. It was something you couldn't teach, something you had to learn on your own.

It was unique.

That's why... it would just feel odd to simply state, "I'm Ken and I create shields." to tell them his 'power'. And, that is the reason he opted not to speak of himself just yet, instead listening to them. He was presented with the choice to go the the training course. It would seem they wanted to get a handle on everyone's capabilities. Well, they could try, but it wouldn't be easy to deduce what a ninja could do if he didn't want you to.

He would do the course, but at least keep his own personal ability secret. His physical skills were more than enough to pass this, he was sure.

"I would like to do the course." he stated. "When you are ready, please lead the way."

Shizuka had sat in the kitchen quietly, petting her newest creation. Flower, she thought, Ill name you Flower. Shizuka had always liked the name Flower for a cat, it seemed to fit every single one out there. Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden beeping on a screen that was imbedded into the table next to her. I quick press and Nightwings face appeared. Shizuka somewhat payed attention, but all she got out of the message was that Lexine was leaving.

It was rather easy to find everyone in the living room, saying their goodbyes, which Shizuka found rather pointless. They had known each other for less than an hour, no reason to get emotional. Not to long after one left, two arrived, and the introducing began all over again. Nightwing sure was making it hard for Shizuka to remain silent like she always had. The girl assumed one of the Titans that had seen her little intro could do the job for her, seeing as as far as they knew, she couldn't speak. They had no idea this was sheer force of will .... well, it was actually kind of natural for her to nolt talk. She hadn't heard her own voice in what seemed like years, despite the fact she stated her name this morning. But now wasnt the time for that. Shizuka did a signature silent bow as she glanced over the two. One was a hyper-active girl, and the other a polite young man.

It seemed like a not so diverse group. It was as if you were quiet or you werent. But they hadn't even glanced at the true nature of one another, something sure to be interesting. The powers definitely weren't similar in the least, good. They all balanced one another out, as far as Shizuka could tell. Some were up front battle, and some would be the ones at the base supporting them. That was hypothetical of course.

Shizuka continued to grip her paint brush as she observed the others converse. It was sort of her nature to blend into the background, notice everything. Soon she would have to do a full check out of the Tower. Find all the exits, twists, turns and hidden paths. She might do that while everyone slept, sure to not be disturbed.

Once everyone had had a chance to welcome Ken and Izzy and the dishes from Waffle Fun Time had all been cleaned up Kelsier spoke to the rest of the team. "Alright guys, now that we're all fed and introduced it's time for the training course." As they made their way outside Kelsier tapped a button on the computer revealing the training course on the outside of the tower. Once they had all made their way outside he stepped up. "Alright everyone it's time to run the Obstacle Course. Unless anyone objects I'll go first." Kelsier began stretching his legs getting ready for his run. No one had objected so he walked up to the starting area getting ready to jump into the course. Kelsier knelt down resting his hand on the rocks and pulled the material over his entire body. He reached to his back and drew out his Twin Hooks. "Alright, here I go."

With that he jumped onto the course dodging the first set of swinging rocks by hooking his blades onto the cords they were attached to launching himself across the gap. 'Alright first part's done now for the combat test.' He sheathed his Twin Hooks and reached into his belt expanding his pair of Chakram as the first set of dummies began moving towards him. Dodging and rolling past the darts that the figures launched toward him. Rolling back to his feet he threw one of his Chakram at the closest of the dummies the sharpened disc lodging itself in the dummy's shoulder. He used the remaining Chakram to block another wave of darts. A few of the darts made it past the edge of the Chakram and broke against Kelsier's hardened skin. He jumped up throwing his other Chakram at the closest dummy stopping it in it's tracks. Rolling backwards to get some space he again drew out the Twin Hooks and began using the hooked ends to disarm the approaching dummies. As the last one approached Kelsier jumped into the air over the head of the dummy and swung the two hooks of the blades together doubling the length of the weapon. The elongated blade knocked the dummy onto the ground. As the dust settled Kelsier swung the blade back into his empty hand taking a low stance brandishing the swords. He took a deep breath and the stone color of his skin faded returning to normal as he stood back up sheathing his swords and collecting his Chakram. "Well that was just as much fun as I'd hoped it would be." He turned and smiled at the group. "Well who wants to go next?"

Monica stood silently as the new members introduced themselves, on the inside she was a little excited to meet someone knew, but as no one likes her she wasn't exactly hopeful that they'd like her. She stuck around while everyone finished eating waffles and did the dishes, she wanted nothing more than to go upstairs and read the letter on her desk, but she decided to stay. After everything was cleaned it was time for the training course. Kelsier, the Nightwing appointed leader of the group went first. He used his powers to coat his body in rock and then used his weapons and a set of hooks to work through the obstacles and dummies, it was impressive and he seemed to enjoy himself. When he finished he asked the group who wanted to go next, Monica wasn't planning on running the course, but everyone was so impressed with how quickly Kelsier made it through Monica thought she might be able to impress them as well, despite how destructive her powers were, she was also quite quick and nimble. "I'll go." She stated flatly and walked to the beginning of the course. She nodded to Kelsier who activated the course.

She ran forward a set of rocks came swinging towards her, at the last second she leapt forward. Her hands made contact with the top of one of the rocks and she pushed off performing a back handspring landing on her feet on the other side of the rocks. After making it past the rocks the course did something new, "Guess it changes, each time" She thought as the ground in front of her parted. An hole the size of a swimming pool opened up, it was at least 25 feet deep. In the base water could be seen. It had large poles placed through out the pit, Monica assumed she was to jump from pole to pole, but she knew that time was of the essence so she stopped in front of the pit and focused a slight sparking could be seen around her back where two small holed formed in her shirt and bat like wings grew and flapped once. Monica smiled, despite all of the problems in her life she has always loved flying. She jumped into the air and flapped her wings flying quickly over the pit. She landed on the other side, now it was time for the combat. The dummies appeared and some darts went flying towards her, she created a shield of Hell-Fire that burned the darts as soon as they hit it. She then opened her mouth and screamed at the dummies funneling her rage at her parents and life into her scream. The result was a large stream of black Hell-Fire emitting from her mouth and incinerating the dummies, there was nothing left not even ash. Monica ended her scream and took a deep breath. After relaxing she flew over to the others. "That was fun." she said surprised that she actually enjoyed herself, she was always afraid of her powers, but now she finally saw just how useful they could be.
