Space is the endless frontier. An unending sea of black that consumes all existence. Void of life, warmth and joy it is horribly perfect in its vast emptiness. Perfect, however, does not mean that it's right. Each planet with life cowers now from the darkness. Each star struggles to shine out in the black. Each Celestial whether good or neutral has nothing but the cold certainty of death at their evil kins hands to take as an assurance. For that was the way it would have been if not for one being, one figure born from light and forged from will. The will of the mother to create a son who will stand against the darkness and ring in a brighter future.

"In brightest day, in blackest night..."

Deep in the reaches of space a star was changing. It buckled and flexed as it's greenish hue began to surge and grow in it's radiance. The words spoken from within it's swirling mass of light echoed out across the universe. The voice held such power it reached the ears of every creature, mortal and divine alike. The first of it's owner to reach out was a hand. Covered in spectacular armor it was adorned with a glowing green ring. The hand reached out, fingers extended but soon closed into a fist and for the first time the light of the Guardian touched the cosmos.

"No evil shall escape my sight."

The voice was authoritative yet compassionate. Strength could be felt in the words as they rippled along the cosmic winds. To those who allied themselves with the forces of good hope swelled within their hearts. To those who stood among the forces of wickedness, for the first time, fear was felt. The second hand reached out from the writhing mass of light and power. Armored as it's twin the chest between the two appendages entered the world an on it's broad chest was the symbol of the being whose power was now being felt across all creation.

"Let those who worship evil's might..."

The denizens of darkness heard the voice well and heeded the warning. They now knew that their wicked deeds will not go unpunished for the bringer of justice was coming. Nearby the star where the being was forming itself through the power of will a planet was being born as well. A counter part to the deity, Oa. From it's core a green light could be seen shooting out into space and bringing with it an illumination never before seen. The Celestial stepped out into the darkness of space, his body nearing completion.

"Beware my power..."

The mortals of the cosmos cheered out in joy and praise at the arrival of their protector for even in their infancy they new their champion had come. No longer would they need to fear the dark for the light was here to shield them from the shadow. No longer would evil be the power to fear but one to stand against. On Oa cities sprang into existence. Massive spires and buildings shot fourth from the light, architectural and technological wonders of all shapes and sizes. The populace soon followed in a variety of races, breeds and species. The chosen son of the mother and guardian of heaven was fully formed as the star let loose a mighty wave of green light at the zenith of the formation. His strong jaw line perfectly sculpted, his face handsome and proud. A mask rested firmly on his face as his eyes emanated his green aura. Jordane, guardian of the comsos and protector of heaven looked out across space as his ringed fist clenched in resignation knowing his life would be one full of sacrifice and hardship but one that would be rewarding in it's own way. His life was not one for ambition or self gain, his was a life of duty. A life to serve others and keep them safe from any and all threats that would do them harm. His feet hovered above his newly formed planet and home. As they touched down he extended his fist high above his head and finished his oath. With the completion of his vow a surge of light reached out to touch every bit of the comos, bathing it in brilliant green light.

"GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!"

Righello then notices more of his kin arriving to the temple after the invite of this Arcturus. Some of them where his kin that he had not met yet, and Mythie was there too. She then speaks of the god of rainbows and unicorns and she seems to not like this 'party' that Arcturus had set up. "My hello my kin, I believe I have not met you, except for you Mythie, Hi. Anyways welcome the the temple! I believe that that god lured you all here did he not?" asks Righello as he points at Arcturus. "Now, what is it you seek brother?" asks Righello. He then notices a bright light run through the universe, along with a new presence, a presence that feels so pure and holy, yet green. He then is about to ask about this, but then remembers that this Arcturus feels too evil, so he decided to not mention this holiness. He then also notices a god on a, giant space turtle? oh my. He was going to ask about this too but then got distracted by Arcturus once more.

Ilgios stands in the back of the throne. Still a new god he doesn't know any of these other deities. He listens to The Large One's words and when His name is called he is shocked. How could this god know his name? Simple. The same way Ilgios knew The Large One's. He is called Arcturus, and what he says is true. He is the embodiment of evil. Ilgios doesn't doubt that at some time he will create a beautiful creature that will become infected by the god, but knows that if there is to be a god of evil, then there has to be one of good as well. Finally Ilgios speaks up, not afraid to talk to The Large One. "Tell me, Large One..." Ilgios walks up to him, finding a tiny little piece of his that isn't covering his body, and pokes him with his fore claw. sticking the golden blood into his mouth, he can now see what Arcturus looks like down to his most basic strands of DNA. "mmm, very large...tall." Ilgios looks up, straight at Arcturus's face, showing his own facelessness. "...If you are the embodiment of evil, then what is your plan in this universe?"

Celestials all gathered now around a source of such evil it could barely be fathomed even by the divine in attendance. The being born of malcontent and wickedness snarled and hissed it's evil words like a viper dripping venom. It spoke of the power of evil, and the futility of his kin to resist. To this being, to Arcturus Magnus evil was all. The most powerful force in existence. Evil would corrupt every ounce of life in the galaxy if Arcturus had his way. Unfortunately for the Bringer of Eternal Night his new born brother was at that very moment bringing his light to the galaxy through the one thing Arcturus underestimated above all things, mortals. His opposite in every way Jordane, guardian of the cosmos was the ultimate force for good. Where Arcturus was cruel, Jordane was kind. Where Arcturus was wicked, Jordane was noble. Where Arturus was vengeful, Jordane was just. The two brothers would meet soon enough but for now the dealings of the God of Wrath were unknown to the God of Justice. The chosen son of The Mother had set to shedding the light of duty across his world of Oa.

He had watched with pride as the races of his world worked together to form a society, laws and order. It was in their willingness to sacrifice for the greater good that truly inspired their creator into creating what would be the greatest organized force for justice and peace keeping in the galaxy. Jordane flew down to the ground, to the center of Oa's greatest city to bring together his people. The light of their creator attracted the free peoples of Oa who turned out in force to greet the God of Will. They all stood in awe of the being who brought them into being. His green aura covered them in warmth as Jordane looked out onto his people. As his feet touched the ground he spoke.

"People of Oa... My children. I come to you now with great purpose. I am Jordane, God of of Light, Duty, Justice and Will. I am new to the cosmos as are all of you but already I can feel the forces of darkness out there. They are waiting, and watching. They stalk in the shadows like a hungry predator."

The words of the Justice God hung heavy in the air as the people of Oa listened intently to his words.

"Evil does not rest, so neither can good. I am the guardian of the cosmos and it is my duty to protect all life in existence, yet... I see in the hearts of you all that your are not willing to stand idly by as the fight happens around you. In each of you I sense something special, something spectacular."

Jordane smiled warmly at the mortals before him as he stepped forward, their eyes on him watching every movement with rapt attention.

"I offer you all an opportunity to serve a higher calling. A chance to protect the galaxy and all those within it. If you so choose you would be the shield to safe guard the helpless and the sword to oppose darkness wherever it may hide. I warn you though... should you take up the call your life will not be an easy one. You take the oath, your life ceases to be your own. You fight, and die if need be so innocents don't have to."

The mortals exchanged glances, some of worry, others of fiery determination. Some spoke in hushed tones but the excitement was palpable, it only needed the first push. That push came from the most unusual of sources as the one that stepped out of the crowd was a small, skinny little creature. While warriors of every size and shape were in attendance it was but a lowly scribe to speak up first.

"E-excuse me, s-sir?"

Jordane smiled and looked down at the small one.

"Yes child?"

The young one swallowed hard, his nervousness was pouring off him.

"I volunteer."

Jordane reached out, his ringed hand came to rest on the lithe shoulder in warm pride.

"Then you shall be the first. Once a scribe but now a warrior."

Jordane extended his free hand and in his palm was a small green ring, identical to the one on his own finger except perfectly sized for the young mortal. The ring began to glow and hum with power as it levitated and found it's place on the mortal's finger. Almost instantaneously light covered the mortal and his body was garbed in unique green armor bearing Jordane's symbol.

"Behold, the first to be given a ring. Avra, The Green Lantern. "

The crowd erupted into a chorus of cheers. Soon more volunteered, first a few but then hundreds, thousands. The beginnings of Jordane's corps had been chosen. They would grow into the largest force of good in the cosmos, led by their god they would shed the light of justice across the stars and beyond.

On Oa time passed before the eyes of it's creator. The corps had begun to train themselves in the use of their power rings under the tutelage of Jordane. Unlike some deities he was not so far removed where he could not engage with mortals in their day to day dealings. He worked with them, fought with them, laughed with them, cried with them. They were his friends, allies no longer mortal children to an immortal being but fellow Green Lanterns, brothers and sisters of the corps. He even put a stop to the way they referred to him as creator or master. He was able to tone it down to merely Guardian as he was the leader of the corps. He trained them in the use and capabilities of their amazing power rings. Their power was based on the aspect of Will within the Emotional Spectrum and its users energized the rings through Power Batteries that were linked to the Central Power Battery on Oa.

It is through this link of Will the Lanterns learned to make their first constructs. They willed objects into being and used them to do their duty. The constructs were limitless as long as the wearers will power was strong enough to will it into existence. Jordane was pleased to see what his Lanterns created. Usually constructs that were familiar to them and their race but all were powerful and innovative. He taught them the tactics needed to fight injustice, and showed them when and where to show compassion and restraint. Under his tutelage the Green Lantern Corps became strong indeed. It was shortly after their training had completed that he began dispatching them all to a designated sector of space, one Lantern per sector.

With his Lanterns doing their duty to serve Justice to all corners of the galaxy their creator now sat in his office. A spectacular room indeed but modest in comparison to other goddly seats of power. With his ring on his finger Jordane sat looking out of the large bay window onto the Oan night sky. He breathed deep the scent of his beloved home, and the gateway to heaven for on Oa Jordane had hidden away the only means of transportation to heaven for those still living. The safest place for it was at home, Jordane knew that but he began to wonder. Who would dare threaten it? What evil would be so great to seek to breach the walls of heaven and harm Mother? The concept caused Jordane's eyebrows to furrow. He knew he wasn't the only Celestial out there. He'd felt the swells in his kins power come and go. Some felt good, others more sinister in nature yet none had greeted him since his birth. The Guardian did not take offense to this. Due to the amount of work he had to do in creating an entire corps of peace keepers, training them and dispatching them he had yet to make any form of introductions either so he could hardly throw stones. A fact he would need to apologize for later, he hoped his brothers and sisters would understand.

The Emerald Knight rose from his seat and walked out of his office where he almost collided with Laira, one of his bravest Green Lanterns. She stopped short and saluted him respectfully.

"Sir."

"At ease Laira."

He said casually waving away the salute. Laira dropped her hand politely as she noticed her leader seeming perplexed.

"Everything alright sir?"

Jordane chuckled warmly as he shook his head and folded his arms across his chest. He considered telling her his immortal blood burned for his kin. That he could feel their surges in power and he needed to meet them. He had walked the cosmos long enough and yet has met none of his fellow gods. That in the back of his mind a gnawing fear bothered him as to what was the source of such darkness he felt after his birth.

"I'm fine. Just... I gotta go see some family. I might be gone a while. Reach me on my ring if you need me."

He said with a friendly nod before walking off down the hall. He caught a stunned reply from Laira as he just exited ear range.

"He has family?..."

The question made him stifle a chuckle as he reached the exterior of the Home of the Guardian and stepped out into the crisp night air. It was getting cold on Oa, winter was coming. His first snowfall was something Jordane was looking forward to. Resigned to his cause the Guardian of the Cosmos clenched his ringed fist and he began to glow his trademarked green light before flying off into space in search of his kin. He reached out with his goddly power to see if he could sense them and get a bead on their locations so he could finally meet his brothers and sisters.

Through the vastness a space a light shot across the emptiness, wreathed in powerful green brilliance. That light was the bringer of justice and the guardian of the entire cosmos, Jordane chosen son of The Mother. The Celesetial of Will was searching now for others like him, his family. He had been alive long enough now and he craved the long over due meeting. Even at this range he could feel them, all gathered on a planet named Santos. A world of mists and clouds with untold treasures lying deep beneath the surface. Here was the temple of the Celestials, a beautiful expansive structure of towering pillars and pristine stone work.

Jordane's ring had worked like a tracking system and locked onto his fellow Gods power beacons. Though he had yet to meet them he could sense their power, their names and ideals all through some in-explainable goddly connection they all shared. He sensed the eldest, Righello. Kind and proud, he was the God of Leadership, Royalty, Wealth, and Knowledge. He sensed his sister Aureen, ever the muse she was the goddess of Inspiration, The Arts, and Mythic History and a kinder sole one has never had. His rather unique sister Mythplxyctpqll, goddess of Insanity, Impracticality, Sarcasm, Aglets, the Stubborn Defiance of Reality was also in attendance. A smile etched it's way onto Jordane's handsome features as the feeling her random impetuousness entered his mind, he hoped the two would be good friends. His brother Rezzan's power could be felt in the temple and at the moment the God of Freedom, Equality, Revolution, Brotherhood and Choice seemed to be thin on patience. Jordane could pick up his brothers anger from here, he wasn't sure what was happening in that temple but his noble brother didn't like it. Then there was Tché, God of Rebellion, Conflict, Anarchy, The Oppressed and Progress. Concern entered Jordane's heart at how well the two brothers could see eye to eye. Their portfolio's, while not entirely at odds, would often butt heads. That being said Jordane was resolute that he would not fight his brother for the two's differences needed not oppose one another. Then there was Ilgos, God of Blood, Reantimation and Genetic Creation as well as Jordane's brother. He sensed an oddity about his kin that felt different but not evil, he did not pick up any malice in his brothers aura. It was on his brother Veral that Jordane had difficulty getting a solid read on his intentions. The God of Technology and Innovation was plain to see but his motives were not, a Celestial of a purely neutral alignment could be swayed to good or evil on a whim.

Jordane's eye brows furrowed, his tone growing more somber as the aura of his final brother in attendance touched him. This was a being of pure darkness and hate, wicked, awful and lusting for the pain of others. His polar opposite in every way, Jordane knew they were destined to fight until the end of days. Neither side relenting until brother killed brother. It mattered not, Jordane had a duty to protect the comsos, his kin and every mortal now living. He would stand against his evil brother, even if he must stand alone.

"Arcturus Magnus..."

Jordane said aloud, speaking the name of his brother with distaste. The Bringer of Eternal Night was about to meet The Beacon of Light for All Creation. A meeting that no doubt would be recorded in the history of the Gods for all time. Jordane reached Santos and landed lightly on the ground just past the steps to the temple. The radiance of his light was on display as his glowing green eyes did a cursory scan of his immediate surroundings. Seeing not a soul he began to walk casually up the steps and into the temple that at the moment seemed to be blanketed in darkness. It was as if Magnus' mere presence was drowning out all light. Fitting then that Jordane's arrival brought the light back in force as the halls began to radiate a luminous green. He strolled through the halls admiring the ornate carvings and depictions that lined the walls and pillars of the magnificent structure but his focus was ever on the meeting of his kin in the throne room.

No doubt by now the gods within the throne room would have long since felt his presence and are now seeing the light spill through the cracks in the door. Filtering in through any space it could the greenish hue touched the throne room as if heralds of The Emerald Knight. Jordane neared the doors now, his hand poised to push open the door. His kin near at hand they would have all been looking at the door, awaiting his arrival. In the next moment there was a hushed silence, then Jordane, God of Justice pushed open the door to the throne room and his light filled the room with radiance. It washed over each and every one of his kin lovingly, though his brother Arcturus no doubt loathed the touch of the light on his golden armor and godly skin. The strength of the light dimmed out allowing his brothers and sisters to finally get a good look at their newly arrived brother as he allowed his aura to recede. Now only his eyes and his ring maintained their greenish glow as he stepped forward to greet his kin.

"Sorry I'm late, never got my invitation to the family reunion."

"Little Gods, come out and play, come with open arms and greet your brother!!!! Neithan of the Dark, Righello the Knowledgeable, all of you, do not fear me, let us talk of the way of things."

He shook his head slowly as his brothers summons echoed across the stars, almost shaking them to their very foundation. As he made ready to travel to Santo, for there could be no other location that his sibling would have referred to, he felt the universe around him melt away into pain. Pain that seemed to go on forever as his scream echoed in the wake of his brothers taunt. Steeling himself as he wrapped his form in pure darkness and tried to burn away the light that flowed by, a cry of power accompanying it.

"GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!"

He turned towards where the cry had came from, and tilted his head slightly before growling slightly. Today was becoming tiresome, and he was wondering if he should have just stayed buried deep within the eternal depths of his world, and kept out of the problems of others.

Sighing softly he twirls his staff three times before slicing down and cutting a doorway into the endless void that exists behind the universe. He slowly steps through the gap and appears back within the endless winding chambers of his tortured realm, walking slowly with just the soft click of his footsteps to accompany him as the portal seals itself.

The doorway at the back of the temple creaked open slowly as Neithan stepped through, closing it behind him with a resounding thump.

"This 'Utopia' you speak of already exists for all those condemned to my hands little brother."

His voice is harsh and scathing as he drags his clawed fingers across the smooth marble of his construct, almost lovingly as it runs over it's shoulder.

"Your lies are as plain as your disgust at our independence, our difference from you. You speak of freewill being your greatest ally? For all your posturing and cruelty, whatever you have planned to enact upon the universe, in the end it will simply end up in my realm. You can slaughter your bloody path across the universe and it will barely even effect my duties. I will watch your futile efforts till your unsteady grip on your own sanity melts away and your final days are spent toiling to fuel to fires of hell under my eternal gaze. I have become tired of this back and forth between us. So speak plainly."
