In a Medieval-Era world, known as Aynek, Humans, Elves, Goblins, and the Kotka People exist together, though far from peacefully. The land is divided by race, each squabbling with the other. The High King over Aynek cares not for the concerns of the people, but has become corrupted by greed and lust for power, wrapped up in petty politics among the nobles. The nobles, heavily taxing the already impoverished people so that they may stay in fashion in the grand High Court, are constantly vying for the King's favor, trying to secretly take out competition. In every forest are beasts and monsters similar to those on earth, and the people of the poorer provinces must fend of these creatures for themselves.

There was a prophecy given long ago, that is now forgotten by all but the most advanced scholars. It states that when Aynek was in its darkest hour, a young Kotka hero and his guardian would arise. This young hero would save the world from Darkness, and take his rightful place as king.

At the start of this rp, Darkness is beginning to spread, as monster attacks become more frequent, people disappear without a trace, and riots are beginning to break out in poor towns. In some of the provinces, slavery is beginning to be a accepted practice. All the provinces are on the brink of war.

Places:

Each Race has a separate province.

Adanac- the richest and safest from monsters, belongs to the humans. The High Court is in the center of Adanac, in Youria, the capital of both Aynek and Adanac. Youria has a black district, which is which is a dirty crowded area where the poorer humans live. Next is the grey district, which is the business district There is a large wall that separates the grey district from the white district. In this wall are the guard barracks and training grounds.
The white district is where all of the upper class businesses and people reside.

Soifra- considered the most beautiful province, it is also somewhat rich and has monsters only in the deep woods. It belongs to the elves. Their capital is called Demuer, which is the home of the School, a place for those with powers to study and improve. The people throughout the land are known for their hospitality.

Haayre- the main food provider of Aynek, belongs to the Kotka people. It is often ravaged by monsters, which the people have to fight off for themselves. Its capital is Irito. The outskirts of Irito consist of wood houses inhabited with the poorer families. Further in, the houses are made of brick and inhabited by those more prosperous.

Brodhil- the least explored and most dangerous area of Aynek, belongs to the goblins. It is almost entirely overrun by the monsters, with whom the goblins are allies. Its capital is Wodahs, which is know as the thief capital of Aynek.

There are also several towns in each of these provinces in which people of mixed race, and those who don't really care about race at all live together.

Races:

Humans: Much like the humans on earth, though some of these humans are Gifted Ones, meaning they have special powers.

Elves: Elves are either extremely tall or extremely short. They are never just average height. they have the normal elvish ears and are usually fair or dark haired. It is unusual for an elf not to have powers.

Kotka: Kotka are human like, but have some animal like qualities. For instance, they might have cat like ears, a tail, or even rams horns. They usually don't have more than one or two of these animal like qualities. They usually have better hearing or night vision, etc. It is extremely rare for them to have powers, and there haven't been any with significant powers for the past century.

Goblins: Goblins take many forms and often have oddly colored skin (green, blue, purple, etc.) They only have powers that have to do with shadows or fire.

Mixed: Any mix of two races. Can inherit traits of both, but are usually rejected from society.
