Physical Description: Skylar has long, curly, bright, red hair that hangs down to the middle of her back in a slight layer. She usually wears it down almost all of the time; it acts as a safety blanket for her. She will wear it up out of her face if she really as to. Has bright blue eyes that seem almost lifeless now, almost as if she were just a shell of a person. She's only five foot six inches tall and doesn't weight at all what is average for the height. Even though she could find enough food for herself, sometimes she just can't make herself eat which caused her to always stay small. On her right arm, she has a brown leather bracer. Also has a matching brown leather quiver strapped to her back along with the bow. At her waist are two leather holders for her daggers, one of each side. Has a pack that contains normal clothes like blue jeans and tank tops.
Skills and Talents: Writing - its one of the only ways she can express herself without coming off like a fool.
Swimming - Rapids, rough water, ocean tides; it wouldn't matter. She has an endurance for it, but getting her in will be the problem.
Land nav - Give her a military map and she can tell you anything you want to know.
Fighting - she might not look like much, but Kian made sure that she could fight and handle almost anything.

Personality: Once upon a time, Skylar was once a bubbling girl who despite the world falling around her feet could see nothing wrong. It wasn't until her little brother's death that things began to change. She withdrew into herself at the age of ten. She would just sit and stare out into the sky watching the stars. It wasn't that the fungi was taking over the world or the way they were forced to grow up, not even that she didn't have a real childhood; it was the loss of Colton that hit her the hardest.
As she aged, she never really came out of her shell. She depended on her older brother for everything and only he got to see another side of her. They still went out together, hunted and kept themselves trained. He saw the side of her that still smiled and could find a little joy in the world. Now, her normally vibrant eyes are dull. The death of Kian tore through her. The world could blow up into pieces and she would only laugh. She doesn't care whether or not she lives or dies. Despite it all, she will protect other people, because they don't deserve the pain she had to go through. Most people don't take the time to get to know her or her story and just see a lifeless human, those who are around. She's socially awkward and doesn't always quite know what to do around others. She tries her best, but just feels out of place. She is a loner, but she craves real human interaction like she once had.

History: Skylar was the second out three children. She had both an older and younger brother. Growing up, they were all thick as thieves together. They all did martial arts, hunting, camping and growing up off a mountain helped, well the part of the mountain they could get to inside the Quarantine Zone. Even though the QZ was the only life they had known, they were still just like any other kids and they enjoyed life. Until one day when her younger brother was eight years old. They had gone to the small river that ran through the woods in the QZ and went swimming as they did a lot. Soon after the youngest Gray sibling fell ill and a few days later, he was dead.
The doctors said it was a brain eating ameba not the fungi. Both she and her brother, Kian blamed themselves. Their parents couldn't hold it together and separated never really wanting to be around the kids either, secretly blaming them for Colton's death. They were only ten and twelve years old. They grew up in the QZ, parentless, but together. All they had for the next eleven years were each other. They just happened to be living in one of the QZ's that became overrun. They had tried to barricade themselves in, but not without having caught the fungi. Her brother was in the first stage and Skylar was forced to kill him as another deadly parasite took the life of her last family member. The next few days were a blur as she went through every stage of being sick. Her body had always fought off sickness different than everyone else. When she came too, she was lying in a pool of her own vomit, but she was alive. The QZ had collapsed around her and with no one else that she cared about and no where else to go she went in search of Fireflies.
Other: She is immune, or rather her body adapted to it and released it from her body meaning she can fight it off, not that she can't or won't get sick from it again.
