A gray-haired figure stood alone, next to his tent, pondering on everything he did. Did he make an impact on his old home for the better, or make everything worse? Was he a positive influence, or a negative? Will the product of his actions on Earth even last? Every question led to another. This person, the former Arch-Nephilim, placed a hand on one of his eyes, tracing the scar he received from a demon while rescuing the woman he loved from the grasp of a succubus, more than a century ago, before the war between Nephilim even began. David wished Lanuya was alive and in the Elven Realm with him. He missed her, more than anyone could ever hope to realize.

Meanwhile, two Guardians made their way to the Elven Realm, in search of him so they could protect ensure his safety. One of them was David Gideon's distant cousin, Benjamin Legard, merely age 20. This was his first assignment, one which he volunteered for.

"Alright, Myra. It may be beh..." Benjamin would always stutter or struggled with words whenever he spoke. It was just how he was with speech. "It may be best if we set up camp, here. We're next to a river, so water won't be a problem." He knew the Guardian he was working with was much older than him, yet he saw her as a peer, considering she appeared to be in his age group.

Myra wasn't the sort to become nervous too easily. She knew her goals and knew the best way to acheive them. At this point, her goal was to successfully reach the Elven Realm. Protecting her people, or any people who deserved it, was what she had been striving for. She had been fighting for this peaceful cause for many years now and Myra wasn't about to let it slip through her fingers.

The war had ended generations ago but the elven part of her had kept her strong. She was thankful for the mix of her parents as she traveled to her mother's home; racism wasn't too big of an ordeal these days, but being of both worlds certainly helped. Glancing over to Benjamin she felt her heart squeeze with sympathy. Even he seemed worn out from the strenuous debates. Age wasn't something Myra doted on, but not even Benjamin could escape the fatigue of their duties.

Nodding her head in agreement, Myra stretched her arms into the air and started unpacking various items needs for the stay. "I'll go fetch some water for us then." She retrieved the large buckskin carrier and started on the path to the river, feeling her knife attached to her side.

While Myra went to fetch some water, Benjamin set up the the electronic gear. Radar, alarm, everything that needed to be activated. It was all silent, too, except the arlarm, which would set off if an intruder were to arrive. "So, this is the Elven Realm..." Even with the brief moment of looking, he could see the plant life was unlike any on Earth. "An elven village shou... should not be far from here. I can sense multiple DNA strands of their race..." Focusing a little harder, he could detect a faint one which was out of place. "That should be my cousin off in the distance. About... seventy-seven miles from here."

Myra carefully filled the container with the cool liquid before arriving back at camp, where Benjamin was bantering about the Elven Realm. It wasn't that she wasn't impressed with his newly acquired intelligence, she just didn't need facts about the people she had grown up around. Even electronics were old news to her.

"Seventy-seven miles? What a precise number Benjamin." Smiling to show her lightheartedness, Myra never planned on making the trip a terribly serious one, and thought he should have known that by now.

Benjamin broke away from his trance to look at Myra. Grinning a little, he explained. "I guess... this is what David experienced when he was... genetically altered into a Nephilim. I mean, just... being around people, and I know their genetic structure in a jiffy. Tamar Hagar's DNA that she used for the alteration really does wonders." Again, he tends to pause whenever speaking. It was rather embarrassing to him, to be honest.

Lord Asper stood up on top of a tower so large it vanished through the clouds, he was in a deep trance, as he expanded his aura throughout the land to see if all was fine. This was a daily task for him, to ensure there were no threats to his realm. His aura embraced to figures, he identified them through the their energy signature as Nephilims. He did not worry, they were probably there to find their comrade, although he did wish they had attempted contact before bounding in. He descended from the tall tower and made his way through the villages, he had no need to rush. He knew where they were and was certain to to walk into them, it was only a matter of time.

Ae'Naria stood on a thick branch on a high in tree as she over looked the lush landscape of the Elven Realm. She'd leaved eons here but she could not get over the view. Her hair tied up in a high ponytail even though it still tickled her lower back, was the mercy of the wind. She whistled a few notes that rang out in forest. She smiled at the echo. She whistled the same tune and as it echoed she noticed something off in the distance. Her uncle. Lord Asper. For a moment. she'd thought he'd come to retrieve her but he continued on away from where she was. She looked ahead of him. She was unfamiliar with the aura that emitted from them. "Oh, What an adventure." She gasped and hang jumped from branch to branch. Laughing the whole way down. She whistled sharply as she made her descent. It was then in a blur of white, a extremly large polar lion rushed to her, stopping on to have her dropped onto the elegent gold sattle on it's back. "We have visitors, Neven. Preheaps they are from Earth Realm? Wouldn't that be exciting?!" She told the beast. It for one could not speak and therefore could not respond. It just shook it's large mane and she smiled. "Let's go, Neven. It's just up ahead." She said and the beast took off toward the newcomers.

Myra chuckled to Benjamin's cute stutter. "Well just don't go morphing into a giant plant or something." Scuttling around the camp, she began to look for fire starters. Then she stopped herself, maybe Ben had brought something more useful. "Are we going to make a fire the old-fashioned way? Or do you advise against a fire entirely." The light would give away their location, but they weren't exactly hiding...Staring up to Benjamin, Myra smiled, curious as to what he would answer.

Before Benjamin could answer, he picked up two elven DNA strands with his supernatural senses coming closer. "It appears we... already gave away our position. That brings up a question: from how far away can... a pure-blooded elf pick up an aura?"

As if on queue, one of the elves arrived so quickly, Benjamin reacted by leaping into the air while rapidly backflipping. Once he landed, his eyes came into contact with those of a lion, which made him react with three backflips away from the creature. He finally could see where one of the elven DNA strands came from. Standing upright, the Guardian recruit cleared his throat. "Sorry. I was a little... startled there for a bit."

"Joseph Isaiah to to Benjamin Legard." the call came from the communications radio on Benjamin's helmet. "Private Legard, do you copy?"

Benjamin sighed before piking up his helmet from his backpack. "Hold on..." Putting the helmet on, he pulled the mic close enough to his mouth to speak through it. "Loud and clear, Arch-Nephilim Isaiah."

"We've been receiving numerous reports from the Nephilim Blades of Rage Nephilim Remnant activity all across Earth. One of the Remnant's veterans from the Nephilim Civil War has recently disappeared, but I doubt he is dead. This Remnant Rage Nephilim in particular was personally trained by Calcifer to be an assassin. It is common knowledge that any Rage Nephilim who received combat instructions from him are not a force to be underestimated. The one in question, Antony Pyro, could be following you, right now. Keep your eyes open for him."

The recruit nodded. "Affirmitive. Over and out." Removing his helmet from his head, he said to the female elf. "Unfortunately, that comes with being one of the Modern Nephilim Guardians: trouble finds you wherever you go." He was inwardly surprised that he was not stuttering. "Well, as you just found out, I'm Benjamin Legard. The Nephilim who came here with me is Myra Faye. Anyway..." Taking a step closing, he posed a query: "You wouldn't happen to know David Gideon, would you? Tanned skin, brown eyes, two scars on his face, brown wings that he makes appear when he needs to fly, sound familiar?"

Ae dismounted Neven as the Nephilim backflipped away from her. She frowned curiously. Ae watched him for a moment and that's when she felt it. The Surge. She gasped and clutched her chest. She then smiled at him. He went on about something that she didn't quite hear. She looked to Neven as he shook out his mane. He stepped closer and she frowned. Did he not feel it too? He asked about another Nephilim and she blinked. Impossible. He couldn't feel it. "Did you not feel the Surge?" She asked him, her voice thick with Elven accent. She clung to Neven some as she did not understand and was afriad. How could only one feel the Surge and not the other.

Benjamin cocked an eyebrow. "What surge? Is something out of the ordinary?" He looked around to see if there were any hostiles. "No sign of any potential threats..." Looking back at the elf, he asked. "What kind of surge are we talking about? I know next to nothing about this place, other than my cousin is somewhere in the Realm."

Ae looked apalled. "You haven't, have you?" She said and looked anywhere for an answer. She mounted Neven as tears dotted her eyes. "It is not possible." She said and Neven took off full speed in the opposite direction. Ae wiped her tears as she rode Neven back toward her favorite tree. It was then that Neven stopped abuptly in the presence of the High Elf. Ae was thrown forward and she tumbled a few feet but stopped herself quite skillfully. She looked up sheepishly at her Uncle, trying to hid her tears. "My apologies,Uncle. Neven saw you before I did." She said looking down at the ground. This was hardly like her but she was almost heart broken. She rubbed her arm with a hand. She bowed and grabbed Neven's reins and began walking slowly.

Myra watched an emotional battle unfold in front of her eyes. People had been torn apart, others pulled even closer together. She had decided to stay out of the whole debacle though. She didn't personally have a part in the matter and stating her opinion could cause even more controversy. Turning to sigh toward Benjamin, Myra nodded her head. "Not all threats are physical Benjamin...it would be smart to sort through emotional matters first."

Benjamin was about to ask why the elf was crying, but it was too late, she was already gone. When he heard Myra talk about sorting out emotional matters, he became even more confused. "Emotional?" Benjamin did not quite understand. Then again, it could have been something he said which upset her. Nodding, he ran in the direction the elf rode off to. Once he reached her, he noticed the other elf whose DNA strand he detected. "Oh... Uh..." Benjamin honestly did not know what to do. This male elf seemed to radiate power to where he could kill him easily. "Sorry, sir, It... It could have been something I said that upset her. I mean, this is all new to me, so I... am a little clueless as to how everything works here." The recruit placed a hand around the back of his neck. "She mentioned somthing about a surge. I don't know what that is, but I guess... well..." Sighing and turning his head to the side, Benjamin finished with, "I feel like an idiot, now. Whatever I said hurt her feelings. Sorry about that. I'm just that clueless."

Myra watched Benjamin run off and felt a shiver creep up her spine. Following him at a steady trot, she came to an abrupt stop at the sight of the lord. Bowing her head low, Myra wondered what his response would be to Benjamin. She would have tried to stop Ben but she knew he wouldn't get through his mistakes without experience. She stayed to the back of the group, debating whether or not she should step in. "Lord, please excuse Benjamin. This is one of his first missions and he has not been able to master his social talents yet."

Glancing over to Lady Ae, Myra sympathetically smiled and stepped closer to her. Bowing her head low again, she started to feel for the young girl. "I apologize for Benjamin, his skills are lacking in the emotional department." Myra kept her voice quiet and calm, hoping to soothe Ae.

Lord Asper looked at the human with confusion over his stammering, looking at the girl who bowed he gestured for her to stand. Saying gently, "There is no need to bow, humans, you are here for your comrade but it would of done you better to contact us before stepping into my realm." Looking at his niece he said, "What is wrong Ae'Naria, you seem as if you are having heart break?"

Ae paused and looked at her Uncle. Her eyes then looked over the Nephilim and the halfling. Then back to her Uncle. "I felt the Surge." She said quietly. "He did not." She said her eyes fell on the Nephilim again. "I do not understand." She said softly which was not like her at all.

Ae cocked her head. "See he does not even know what it is." She said now a little angry. She's seen countless people find their Surgemates and wished for her turn. Now that she's felt hers, It's with a Nephilim who hasn't the slightest idea what it is. She didn't want to answer him. She boarded Neven. He could sense her anger and growled. "Yah!" She said and Neven tore off into the forest again.

Myra knew things were getting out of hand. Facing Lord Asper, she collected herself. "My apologies. I am Myra Faye, guardian, and this is Benjamin Legard. We came here on a matter of business. We don't mean any harm but I'm afraid we have already cause some distruction." She didn't know how to put it any better. Benjamin didn't know much about the surge, and Myra didn't feel it was her place to say anything. She was annoyed however, that he wasn't informed earlier.

Benjamin was beginning to put the pieces together, yet did not know for certain. It was something emotional, that much was clear. Wait! Before mentioning the surge, didn't she react in a... His eyes widened at the realization. She has a crush on me? How is that possible? We had only just met!

He did not listen to what Myra said. Benjamin just kept looking in the direction Ae'Naria went. Unless... the Surge is an indicator of who an elve would spend the rest of their life with. At this point, he was angry at himself. walking up to the nearest tree, he let out a roar of rage as he punched it hard enough that it fell sideways. Thankfully, nobody was hurt.

"Why didn't I realize it, earlier? How could I have been so stupid?" Whenever Benjamin got angry to the point of rage or insanity, he would revert to his Leviathan Form, where his skin hardens and subtle fire comes out of his mouth with every breath. "All I seem to do is make a mess of things!" He scoffed. "Some Guardian I am!" He kept at his rants, some of them in French, for a moment before taking a deep breath to calm down. "Sorry. I had to get that off my chest." This is quite a predicament. How am I going to clean up this mess I've made?

Asper stood back observantly, humans really did enjoy their chit-chat, finally feeling that he could speak up he said, "Yes the Surge is indeed an indicator for Elves on who their life partner will be. Although I don't think it has happened much in the case of a separate species. Though stranger things have happened." Tapping his staff to the ground a bright green current of energy enveloped the tree and in moments it was back to the way it was before he destroyed it. "I know those of Earth are particularly destructive to nature, but a wise tip would never be to destroy a tree needlessly in front of a High Elf Lord." For a moment the threat of his power showed itself, he was not peaceful and pacifistic like most common notions of Elves. He was in one moment a life giving stream that in seconds could become a storm that could ravage planets. The electricity of energy in the air died down and his mood became somewhat inquisitive, "Now speak with truth, tell me your full reason for coming here. I want the whole story, anything discovered later to be a lie or even a stretched truth will come back on you ten fold. Do I make myself clear?"

Ae stopped Neven a little ways away from the group. She climbed a high tree and sat upon the branch. She slid her legs to her chin and sighed. She could still see the others but couldn't hear a word. "Of all the people in all the realms...my Surgemate can't feel my Surge..."

((Asper, Benjamin is only half human, the other half being angel. (Myra is half elf, quarter human, quarter angel) ))

Benjamin nodded, not at all intimidated by the High Elf Lord's display. "I'll keep that warning about destroying trees in mind. Anyway, You know of David Gideon? Well, I volunteered for the task of protecting him. Myra was chosen for the task, as well. We were instructed to find him and be on the watch for a Remnant Rage Nephilim called Antony Pyro. The Remnant wants David dead because of the Guardians' victory in the Nephilim Civil War. As for the reason David is here, I don't know. Arch-Nephilim Isaiah won't say." Scratching his neck, he added, "You never told us your name."

Benjamin figured he had to make this conversation quick. Antony could be anywhere, and he wanted to find Ae'Naria and clean up the mess he made involving the Surge. Am I really meant to be with her?
