Thalia is in possession of a natural beauty born out of youthful innocence and kindness. While many women can be considered more womanly, as well as more sexually appealing, Thalia sticks to the classic, "kind maiden" approach. Her features are unanimously soft, her skin smooth, and her silvery eyes inviting and warm. Her light brown hair cascades, almost like liquid, and conjures up feelings of summer, and home. When many people think of what a noblewoman should look like, they picture Thalia, in all her innocent perfection. Perhaps a bit too innocent.

That appearance, of course, is all a facade, existing only to foster trust and normalcy in the eyes of others, and designed specifically to look like a non-threat to virtually everyone. When in private, however, or dealing with her more insalubrious clients, Thalia drops the charade, trading her warm smile and twinkling eyes for an unreadable expression and a cold, calculating gaze. She rarely smiles, and when she does, it is not warm nor inviting, but malicious and frightening. Despite her size, her natural demeanor can be quite frightening even to the most hardened of men, especially if they know who she is.

In the rarest of occasions, Thalia's mask slips, ever so slightly, revealing the monster within. It's not obvious, but the trained eye, upon looking at her often enough, might start to recognize how uncannily innocent she can seem. At times, it leaves the realm of cute and into the realm of creepy and hovers there for an instant, sending chills down the spines of anyone who notices, before promptly returning to normal.

Hair: Light Brown. Soft, and shoulder length. Often worn in varying styles, and occasionally dyed.
Eyes: In some lights, a warm, jovial silver. In others, harsh, piercing steel.
Build: Slender, petite, but shapely in all the right places. She's clearly never hunger nor hardship.
Skin Tone: Fair
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 112lbs
Voice: Young, accented, somewhat perky.
Handed: Ambidextrous
Body Markings: None
Scar Tissue: Minor ones here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Personality
The Lady Threnn is widely known as kind-hearted, honest, morally upstanding, and a woman of good faith and character. Her generous social policies are partly responsible for Red Harbor's strong economy and high quality of life, and the city's citizens look upon her with admiration. The nobility typically look at her favorably, though many believe her to be naive, and they all know her as a voice of reason, restraint, and fairness in all things. In conversation, she maintains a positive, friendly demeanor, and constantly expresses goodwill for others. Her natural charisma is second to none, and very few people can resist her charm.

Like her appearance, her outward attitude is also a ruse, a trick to hide her true nature and to garner popular support among the nobility and peasantry. In truth, Thalia is ruthless, conniving, manipulative, and often cruel. She cares little, if at all, how her actions affect others beyond how their opinion of her would change. She murdered both her parents and her brother to take control of her family's power and influence, and felt no remorse.

Her decisions are fueled by nothing but cold, hard math; Which path leads to the greatest benefit and smallest consequence. She views relationships as inherently worthless, save for their ability to camouflage her, and she feels no kinship with anyone. Love is foreign to her, and she fails to see why people so often yearn for connection to others. She feels connection and attachment to others breeds weakness, that love will make you do things you otherwise would never do. Therefor, in her eyes, love makes the smart man a fool. She does, however, understand the need for physical connection, and though she hides her sexuality from the public and the other nobility, there is some suspicion. A servant girl that no one has seen before spending a little too much time cleaning Thalia's chambers, or a songstress from Nydoecia that smiles a little too lustily at her. Thalia is engaged to a Cithan noble, but thrice now has their marriage has been delayed.

Quirks
Thalia has a habit of constantly pushing her hair back behind her ear, only to have it fall back in her face. It is because of this that she tends to wear it tied back if she has anything important to do.

Moral Alignment
Neutral Evil

Motivation
Personal gain, power, and influence. Ultimately, the throne.

Fears
Thalia is a bit of a control freak. She wants to control everything, and shudders at the thought of her life spiraling into chaos. By extension, she also fears death, because then her criminal empire would crumble without her.

Likes
  • Power - It's addicting. She wants to rule all of Dorelith one day, and eventually the whole continent. Simply, she merely loves being on top.
  • Winning(at anything and everything) - Thalia is excessively competitive. Even in a casual game of chess, she wants to win at any cost. This makes her naturally good at winning competitions, because she is willing to go the extra mile for victory.
  • Hurting others - Taking pleasure in causing pain, Thalia is definitely a sadist. She enjoys taking from people, first their possessions, then their freedom, then their comfort, and eventually their lives. She's more than a bit of a psychopath.
  • Learning - Thalia is always learning in one form or another. She spends much of her free time studying, and takes extensive notes during any council meetings, or court sessions, or gladiatorial fights. She possesses quite a large library of comprehensive notes, and one of her priorities for when she becomes queen is to establish a national university.
  • Manipulating others - Why do something yourself when you can make someone else do it, and likely hurt them in the process? Thalia loves using others for personal gain, and consequently, is quite good at it.

Dislikes
  • Failures - No patience for it. Those who serve the Lord of Ravens are well rewarded. Those who fail, often don't get to fail again.
  • Altruism/Kind-hearted people - Boring. What's the point of giving if you don't expect a little taking?
  • Aule/Messiah Queen - Self righteous charlatans. She has respect for the brutality with which they enforce their rule, however. Still, an enemy that must be eliminated.
  • Inquisitors/Anyone who outwardly displays their religiousness - Thalia is an atheist when it comes to religion. Of course, she suspects Aule actually exists, but doesn't believe that he is actually a god. Just a very powerful demon or something. She can't stand when people insist on spouting their religious nonsense in public, and the idea of killing someone who doesn't believe in the same fairy tale as you do is appalling to her. There are many valid reasons to kill, as even killing for fun is acceptable in her eyes. However, killing for your imaginary friend isn't one of them.
  • Disrespect - Thalia values respect, and while she hates many things and many people, and wouldn't hesitate to kill just about anyone to advance her goal, she is always outwardly polite and respectful to everyone. Manners maketh man, after all.

Strengths
  • Ambition - Thalia would kill her own family to increase her own status. In fact, she did just that.
  • Intelligence - A genius by any measure, Thalia often downplays her own intellect and appears naive, but don't be fooled. Her mental acuity is a match for the greatest minds in all of Dorelith.
  • Cunning - Thalia has successfully leveraged herself into ruling over a prosperous city, serving on the Council of Seven, and has built the largest criminal empire on the continent, all while maintaining the facade of kindly young woman to whom many tragedies have occurred.
  • Wealth and Political Influence - In her capacity as Lady of Red Harbor and councilor for Lord Malden, one of the seven lords, Thalia is moderately wealthy. Not obscenely so, as the Queen or any of the seven lords, but more than any commoner will ever be. The Lord of Raven's however, possesses a wealth to rival even the richest of the seven lords. As a councilor, she often sits at court and helps the Queen make important decisions, and commands a moderate force of soldiers and bannermen, in addition to the virtual army of criminals and mercenaries that make up her empire.
  • Anonymity - Apart from Thalia herself, only two people know Lord Raven's true identity, her lieutenants, Arkhan and Calliope. This level of secrecy lends itself well to her kind of work, as very few people in her organization actually have critical information that could hurt her if they were flipped or tortured.

Weaknesses
  • Arrogance - Confidence is a virtue, until you are so confident that you take your victory for granted, that is. While she almost always approaches any kind of conflict from a position of strength, her arrogance can be leveraged against her.
  • Physical frailty - Thalia is no fighter, and anyone with any measure of combat training whatsoever would find her a complete pushover. The only people she can personally kill are those who are restrained, unaware, or physically weaker than her. In any contest of strength, she often fails outright.
  • Public Face - As a member of the council of seven as countess of one of the most economically important cities in Dorelith, Thalia is very recognizable, and cannot do anything criminal in person, especially while staying in Citha. Virtually all of her orders are relayed by Arkhan or Calliope to one of the lower cells around the continent via letter or raven, who then carry out the order themselves.
  • Apathy - Thalia views this as a strength, but in truth, her lack of care for anything other than her own interest leaves many who deal with her with a bad taste in their mouths. Her allies are motivated primarily by money and fear. While powerful, these motivators are prone to failure in certain situations.
  • Over Aggressive - A certain amount of assertiveness can be a good thing, but taken to the extreme it can cause one to over-extend their reach, and reveal an opening in their armor.

Rating System
[Perfect] - [Excellent] - [Good] - [Above Average] - [Average] - [Below Average] - [Poor] - [Very Poor]

Combativeness
Hand-to-Hand Combat: [Poor] Thalia is not very strong. In a fist fight, she would probably lose, unless it was against an especially waifish young child.

Melee Combat: [Above Average] While too weak to wield any swords or axes, Thalia is proficient in the use of small knives, especially against unarmored opponents. Any trained fighter would make short work of her, but against a single untrained person, her knowledge of anatomy becomes grimly applicable.

Ranged Combat: [Below Average] She can technically use a bow or crossbow, but her aim isn't great. Besides, she doesn't get to savor a kill from a distance.

Magic Combat: [Very Poor] Thalia can't use magic. She can do plenty of card tricks though.

Mounted Combat: [Very Poor] While she can ride horses just fine, she would need to dismount if she wanted to fight anyone. Honestly though, she'd most likely be better off just staying on the horse and riding away from any conflict.

Class Skills
Deception - [Excellent] Thalia has successfully lied to virtually everyone she has ever met for almost her entire life. To say she is a good liar is like saying the sun is "somewhat warm".

Political Power - [Excellent] Sitting on the council has many perks, including a direct say in the policy management of all of Dorelith. On top of that, she is the ruler of one of the most economically important cities in Dorelith.

Criminal Power - [Perfect] The Lord of Ravens commands the largest criminal network in all of Dorelith. Nothing happens in the underworld without Thalia knowing about it. Her influence is so great, many people, especially criminals refer to the Lord Raven as "The Eighth Lord".
Spells/Powers
N/A
Racial Abilities
Diplomacy - [Excellent] Thalia is very good at navigating the political landscape. Making allies is one of her specialties, and the other nobles know it. Being Thalia's friend is just good for business.

Cunning - [Excellent] No trick is too dirty for Thalia. She will do whatever it takes to win, and her razor sharp intelligence and incendiary wit help her achieve just that.

Ammo: N/A
Length: 7in blade
Weight: .3 lbs
Weapon Description/Info:A simple yet well made knife. Technically a hunting knife, it is small enough for Thalia to hide on her person at all times. It's her favorite toy when she personally does the torturing or killing.

Weapon Name: Raven's Reach
Weapon Type: Sword
Material: Black-Stained Enchanted Mithril
Ammo: N/A
Length: 30in blade, 6in hilt
Weight: 2.3 lbs
Weapon Description/Info: Commissioned in secret, Raven's reach is just as useful for threatening to cut someone's throat as it is in actually cutting their throat. It is lightweight, and when drawn it seems to suck in nearby light sources, dimming whatever room it is in. It is often used by Arkhan, as he often plays the part of Lord Raven for show.

Bio/History
Thalia was born six years before the rise of the messiah queen, to moderately wealthy merchants Macedon and Ophelia Threnn. Her mother and father were devout followers of Aule in the early days, and donated much of their fortune to the cause. Thalia remembers little from those days, as they were mostly spent on the road, following the messiah and bearing witness to her miracles. Thalia didn't care for Andromeda or her god, but her parents were a different story. They had devoted their entire lives to Aule, and Thalia quickly learned the value in playing along and pretending to believe.

The years went by, and her parents and elder brother grew ever distant. Her sixth birthday came and went without even an acknowledgement, her parents too distracted by the messiah's rise to royalty. Later, her family was instrumental in restoring order to Red Harbor after the riot, and to show gratitude for their help and longtime loyalty, Queen Andromeda rose the Threnn's to nobility, granting them the lands once held by the recently executed Count of Red Harbor. Thalia still remembers the sense of humiliation and wrongness she felt when she knelt with her family to pledge loyalty to both the Queen and the region's Lord. Submission was not her style.

Some years later came the birth of her younger sister, Anait, first of the Threnn's born into nobility. Linos had taken to studying governance, and the family largely ignored Thalia. Where once this distance fostered enmity, she now welcomed the freedom. She spent much of her time buried in books, studying history and science and economics and battle. She absorbed much, but no lesson more important than the ones gleaned from the pages of The Official Account of Andromeda's Ascension. Haughty to the point it was almost unreadable, and filled with inaccuracies and blatant lies(a kraken did not rise out of the ocean and break the siege of Red Harbor, nobody rode any dragons into battle, etc), but it taught Thalia much. Firstly, that history is written by the victors. If you are the only one left alive, none can challenge your claim. Second, that politics are a useful tool for advancing oneself, and third, that if you want anything, be prepared to take it. While Thalia found the Queen disagreeable on the best of days, she doesn't deny that the woman had a profound impact on her life.

And so Thalia sought to use her knowledge to advance herself, much in the same way Andromeda did. She began small, a favor from a servant here, a cook in her debt there, and worked her way up, until, at the age of 18, she ran three street gangs from the comfort of her own bedchambers, and none of them even knew it. Thalia, on the other hand, reveled in the power. Oh, how the queen must feel, with an entire country to raise or ruin, at her discretion. Though a distant dream at the time, Thalia knew then what her ultimate triumph would eventually be. Thalia, never content and always wanting more, eventually grew bored with managing street crime. Sure, it was profitable, but robbing people of the possessions was child's play. The more she avoided the thought, the more she yearned for it. She wanted blood. She wanted to take someone's life.

Choosing the victim was easy. Iona was the daughter of a wealthy merchant family in the city. She and her family often dined with the Threnn's, and Thalia could, for some strange reason, always pick her out in a crowd. She was beautiful, a year younger than Thalia, with long black hair, chestnut eyes, fair skin and a figure quite full for her youth. Whenever she saw her, Thalia found herself with an odd feeling in her stomach and a burning in her cheeks. It was a feeling Thalia hated, so she pulled some strings and had the girl hired as her handmaiden. Within a few weeks, the girls were best friends.

Thalia spent those weeks planning the murder in excruciating detail, fixated on it until nothing could conceivably go wrong. She woke Iona in the dead of night, and led her to the castle gardens. Confused, but naively trusting Thalia, Iona went along. Normally a smooth speaker, Thalia sounded like an embarrassed child when Iona asked why they had gone into the gardens at night. Darkness around them, Thalia rambled until Iona interrupted her with a kiss, squarely placed on her lips. Thalia returned the kiss in full, and for a moment, nothing else in the world existed. But then, reality returned like a hailstorm. Thalia remembered why she had brought the girl out here in the first place, and, gripping the dagger beneath her cloak, plunged it between Iona's ribs. In an instant, she felt relief. Never had Thalia felt right until that moment, the taste of Iona's lips still fresh, the scent of her hair mixed with the iron tang of blood filling the cool night air, the look of despair and surprise on her victim's face as her life slipped away, and the dull thud as her body hit the ground. She lay there for a moment, gasping in pain and choking as her lungs filled with blood, before Thalia knelt down next to her, grim smile on her face, and gave her one last, long kiss, cutting her throat as she did.

It was then that Thalia realized her mistake. Staring at the scene from across the courtyard, her younger sister Anait stood, too horrified to move. Thalia was on her in a minute, pushing her against a wall and growling in her ear, warning her never to speak a word of that night, lest it be the last word she ever spoke. Anait got the message. Weeks rolled by and no one even suspected the quiet, well spoken, and kind Thalia of vicious murder.

By 20, Thalia had become somewhat of an underworld legend in Red Harbor, known among it's criminals as Lord Raven. All the city's gangs stood united under one banner, adorned with a coat of arms belonging to no known noble house. The coat of arms is an escutcheon divided Per Chevron, the top a field of argent adorned with two ravens, rampant adorsed Sable. Bottom is field of Sanguine with a key pointing down beneath a mural coronet with eight merlons, Argent. Mantling is Sanguine doubled over Argent, no helm, and for a crest, a raven displayed, Sable. Crime in Red Harbor happened when and where she wanted it to, and from it she profited.

At 21, Thalia had her parents and brother murder, supposed victims of a bandit attack gone wrong. Her parents were in good health, and her brother was set to succeed her father as Count of Red Harbor. Killing them was only logical, and suddenly, Thalia found herself thrust into the position of Countess of Red Harbor, with no one suspecting a thing. No one, except Anait.

Several years rolled by, and Thalia stayed constantly in motion. In public, she built a reputation as a kind-hearted, generous leader who genuinely cared for her subjects. The citizenry adored her, and while the other nobles thought some of her beliefs were naive(who invests in health-care for the poor when you could buy another gold statue of yourself instead?), they couldn't deny her effectiveness at governing. In fewer than five years, she had completely restored Red Harbor to it's pre-riot glory, and pushed it's economic engine to be more effective than ever. This, of course, drew the attention of the region's Lord Warden, who greatly valued Thalia's economic insight. This partnership eventually led him to place her as his representative on the Council of Seven.

In the meantime, Thalia's criminal enterprise, collectively known as "The Conspiracy", grew exponentially. The Lord of Ravens became a household name among criminals across Baekoth. The smart street gangs joined up or disbanded. The more stubborn ones tried to resist, and were put to the sword. The Conspiracy became so widespread that it's members lovingly referred to their mysterious Lord Raven as "The Eighth Lord of Dorelith." Mercenaries, Assassins, brigands, and even a few pirates reported to her in one way or another, and nothing of note happens in the underworld without Thalia knowing about it. She had built an empire in the shadows from scratch, and no one even knew, save for her two lieutenants, and her younger sister.

Thalia could have just killed her, but she couldn't risk it, at least not yet. Besides, robbing Anait of her life by never allowing her to leave the castle provided a small measure of pleasure itself. Thalia controlled her, prevented her from living in any real sense of the word, even gets her to play the happy little sister whenever guests are had. Thalia sees this as true power, the epitome of what it means to rule, to dominate completely. Nothing could please her more than making everyone like her sister, and it is with that thought in mind that she endeavored to take the throne for herself. The first step, is ensuring a rebel victory.

Command structure of The Consipiracy
Thalia sits at the top of the pyramid, looking down at all those beneath her, aware, at least to some extent, of everything important they do. Beneath her are her two lieutenants, the only ones in the whole organization who know she is it's leader. They are the only people so far who she has trusted to know her true identity. Each lieutenant is the head of one of the Conspiracy's two wings.

Arkhan, an accomplished mage who refused to kneel and serve the crown, is the lieutenant in charge of "Operations". Arkhan oversees the Conspiracy's vast network of spies and intelligence agents, and coordinates with them to provide accurate information for the Conspiracy as a whole. Secondly, he manages the Conspiracy's criminal undertakings, including slave trade, street gangs, bandits, pirates, extortioners, and illegal "banking". Last, but not least, Arkhan is the leader of the Blackbirds, thirteen elite infiltrators that serve as the Conspiracy's master spies and private assassins.

The other lieutenant is Calliope, a former Kingsguard knight who went rogue after the coup of Citha. She is the head of the "Military" wing, and coordinates with the Conspiracy Irregulars, mercenaries whose primary contract is to the Conspiracy as full time soldiers, but who also do work for outside groups and give a cut to the Conspiracy, in exchange for supplies, equipment, and strategic support. In addition, Calliope oversees any and all legitimate business ventures and contracting conducted by the Conspiracy, including weapons and armor manufacturing, legal gambling operations, mercenary work, information brokering, asset transportation(both in-house and for-hire), and internal security. Lastly, she leads, recruits, and trains the Ravensguard, elite soldiers who serve as bodyguards for important people within the Conspiracy.

Raven imagery is very prominent throughout the Conspiracy, and many within and without refer to it's members as ravens. They operate somewhat like a blend of the mafia and terrorists, with each ground level cell being only vaguely aware of the existence of any other cell, and containing little to no useful information about any cell other than their own. This way, if one member or cell is captured or goes rogue, it can't threaten the organization as a whole.
